    Hi there @Miguelaq,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that wipe you the drive and installed Windows 7 and now you're trying to find the Beats audio software. I'm happy to help you with this. Please report the number of complete product for your computer. Check out the following, if you need assistance with this information. How can I find my model number or product number?

  • If defeated by the left hinge - TouchSmart from HP ENVY 17 - j005ea Notebook PC

    Hello world

Recently, when I opened my TouchSmart HP ENVY 17-j005ea book I noticed that the case falls apart.

I had the computer since December 2013.

    Can someone please help?

    Thank you

I managed to fix it myself, without the help of HP.

I removed the rubber foot near the left hinge where the case came out and found that the screw had worked loose causing the case to open it. I put the screws in place and the hinge works perfectly.

I am currently looking ways to prevent it from happening again.

    Kind regards

I have a HP Envy 15 t-j000 TouchSmart and I want to get into the bios. When I restart the computer just the HP logo appears.

I tried to press ESC, F1 - F12, insert, delete, home, end... Nothing works.

Do you know how I can do this?

    Thank you

    Hello

It may be difficult to get some machines with Windows 8 to enter the bios menu, but try the following.

With the machine has already started in Windows 8, hold down the SHIFT key , and then click Shutdown - which should prevent hybrid shutdown.

When the laptop has stopped, press f10 continuously (about 1 every half second tap) as soon as you press the power button and see if this gets into the bios menu.

  • convert bootable discs made by my TouchSmart from HP ENVY 15 - j152nr portable for USB bootable

Hello. I have a HP touchsmart, envy 15, and I am trying to restore the computer to factory default. About 6 months ago the computer said I could create a boot disk and use it to restore my computer to factory and after I did the boot disk, I can remove the recovery partition as it will be stored on the disk. So I moved forward and make the drive (it turns out be 4 discs) and the computer deleted the partition. Now I am here using factory restore disks, however, my optical drive is not detected when the bios is starting. For this reason, I need to run these 4 discs in a bootable USB drive. I looked everywhere and there are different ways to transform 1 usb drive, but not 4. Can someone help me? I would really appreciate it.

Here is a document on the creation of recovery disks.

If all else fails, then contact HP support and order the recovery disks. If you call in North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 for all other regions, click here .

  • HP TouchSmart 15-j053cl ENVY: ENVY of drivers for HP TouchSmart 15 - j053cl?

    Hi all

I recently installed a new hard drive to 500 GB solid-state to my TouchSmart from HP ENVY 15-j053cl.  I also installed a clean copy of Windows 8.1 Pro that I bought.  The computer works fine besides the fact I'm missing several drivers it would be nice (touchpad, fingerprint reader, etc.).

I tried to find these drivers by simply browsing the HP website, but I think I'm about to find some drivers every time, the only option is to purchase support of recovery (CD, USB key).

  • install an SSD in Workstation Z600.

    Hello

Description explains it, I thought to replace my current HARD drive to an SSD.

I did a lot research on this myself, but thought I would check here just wrap there are any falls known issues/pit with a ssd in z600 workstation installation, I will look at adding a 1 TB ssd.

    1. installation of the material? the 3.5 inch z600 caddy would not accommodate a SSD, HP sells racks that will fit the z600?

    2. compatibility with the workstation? are there types of SSD that are best suited for z600 workstations?

    3. how to install and set up? is it as simple as connect via a cable SATA SSD and installing the OS? The Bios settings?

    Any information would be appreciated,

    Griff

Installed a Samsung 500 GB SATA III Evo in my z600... and it works perfectly.

Installed last week and have been installing programs and saw the general use of it without any problem. I wanted to test properly before posting a reply. It would be possible that I have problems with it later, but I would of thought that if she had problems I would be this topic now.

My SSD reads to 282 MB/s and writes to 270 MB/s - write random shuffle (IOPS) (IOPS) 51612 47395.

Being a SATA II gen workstation his don't reach only the full potential of the SSD to 540 / 520 MB/s writing but reading what I read, you won't notice the difference even its so fast... and I accept CC suite, mozilla, (did not install 3dsmax yet) all boot in seconds compared to the minutes on the old HARD drive.

Just to note that does not use a HP recovery disk to reinstall the OS. I have used a .iso official windows 7 and booted from USB (although it has some things useful, I didn't HP bloatware) drivers installed perfectly smoothly. Windows serial on bottom of Tower

    1. installation of the material? the 3.5 inch z600 caddy would not accommodate a SSD, HP sells racks that will fit the z600?

"Via Scott comments, look for the version of"needs-tool"in the post above, mine cost £8.50 and takes every 5 seconds to fit the ssd for the z600. I would not buy the version of the tool-less sugguest... unless you have no hands and a lot of money. »

    2. compatibility with the workstation? are there types of SSD that are best suited for z600 workstations?

"Yes, they are HP approved detailed SSDs in, but the post above, I had no problem with the class of consumer SSDS, but you dice with what brand." The Samsung EVO 500 GB, no problem. You can use a SATA III ssd, but you can get questions as warned by HP as their firmware does not support certain types (so basically if it doesn't they don't help you) ".»

    3. how to install and set up? is it as simple as connect via a cable SATA SSD and installing the OS? The Bios settings?

"Make sure that your BIOS is set to RAID + AHCI (mine was already setup like that)." I used the samsung Wizard tool after installation and it will say that your PC is not set to AHCI, but I just ignore it. As long as ORGANIC and firmware are up-to-date, you'll be fine. Use a blindmate card to install the ssd (see above messages). Make sure you get the latest firmware on a USB before installing SSD, it should be the first thing to check after the installation of the SSD. You don't need to change cables SATA from II to III that the cables are retro-compatible... anyway have a SATA III in a z600 will limited you to speeds of SATA II (which compared to a normal HARD disk are ridiculously fast). Just plug in and install OS. It can be interesting to read about boring SSD, the magician of samsung suggest some things to do, but not all are necessary, either its life expectancy more performance... defintely deserves to be read to the top, if it's your first SSD as it was for me. »

Upgraded high hand the best I've done to my workstation and very simple to do. I'm glad that I waited for better support and cost down on the SSD before using.

You want to say a big thank you to Scott Harrison for his help on this. I nagged him much but really appreciated his advice! Congratulations to Scott and anyone else who posted help.

Enjoy your SSD, I'll do it.

  • Last steps to install an SSD in a XPS 435MT (Windows 7 64-bit)?

I found a very good price on two SSDs - so I bought it, thinking I could install at least one of them in my XPS 435MT. They will arrive today.

I also want to add a Blu - ray (player, at least) Player to this system. (Suggestions)? While seeking advice on this, I came across a forum detailed post making it clear to me that adding SSD to the XPS 435MT system is not so easy.

It's been well over a year since the above post has been updated. Are the steps that are always accurate? Are there any updates? For example, the message includes a link to the Intel Matrix Storage Manager for Microsoft Windows driver; However, the page that indicates that it is valid for the "Intel Server System SR1680MV. Is this still required driver? Is Microsoft difficulty he always required 50470?

I want to preserve my finely tuned Windows 7 environment, if possible. My system currently has two hard drives of 500 GB (C: and D :), a DVD - ROM (g) and a DVD - RW (w). Currently, I have all my Windows libraries on the D: drive. I am considering making it one of the new SSD the C: drive, using Paragon to migrate the content of HARD C: for the SSD drive. There is perhaps not a need for the existing C: HDD after that; Besides, I may even need to remove the HARD drive in order to have a Bay to install the SSD/support. I intend to replace one of the DVD writers with the Blu - ray player.

    All comments are welcome!

UPDATE: I called a crucial technical support informing them that their advisor of SSD is in offline mode. The technician I spoke with knew very well what I'm trying to accomplish. According to him, there is no need to install the Intel Matrix Storage Manager - driver as the native Windows driver should be enough. I'll do an OS migration - so in this case, perhaps, the native Windows driver is not present?

    Chris,

You only need to run 'fix' If your BIOS is currently set to ATA and you will have to change to RAID. If you are already set up to RAID, you will not have this difficulty. However, I would make sure you run the latest version of the Intel RST (this replaces the former matrix storage driver).

I think your plan is fine, except that I would simply connect the SSD to a SATA, not a USB adapter port. Boot from Paragon Disk or flash drive, depending on what you got and run the clone operation.

Most of the people who swap HDDs to SSDS retain their hard drives for data. Keep this in mind for your planning.

I think that most of the problems of performance with SSDS just frankly cloning a Windows installation that is congested or possibly running in ATA mode. That's why I went to the trouble to do a clean install. It's a little more forward work, but now I have an image of the installation with my drivers and applications that I can restore to the DSS at any time in a few minutes.
