I want to install firefox on my laptop and a context menu always appears to request password. the context menu already have a username as administrator, but without the password the custom software running.
Writing files to the program files directories require administrator privileges on the newer versions of Windows. However, you do not have to install Firefox.
When the prompt appears asking do you want this program to make changes to this computer?, rather than enter a password, click on 'no '. Installation will continue, installation of Firefox in your user rather than in Program Files directory.
If you prefer to install Firefox to another location, choose the installation type "Custom". -

Question
I installed Firefox (10) sync on my laptop instead of my desktop. How do I uninstall, so I can install on my main computer? In the only option of synchronization tools is "Synchronize now".Hi Rachel!
There is no need to uninstall anything, both devices will share information and that there are no 'master-slave' logic on Firefox Sync. All devices are identical.
Take a look at this article which explains how to configure your computers: How can I set up Sync on my computer?
The important part is to select "I already have an account" when you set up your second computer.

I'm unable to load Firefox on my laptop. I tried several times.
I can't load Firefox on my laptop. I tried to download and run, download and save, even disabled antivirus and firewall with no luck.
If the files have already been downloaded, then delete the files in the folder updates\0 and updates.
You can also remove active - update.xml, or even updates.xml (this will clear the update history).
- http://KB.mozillazine.org/Software_Update (Update works not properly)
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox)
Do a cleaning (re) install and delete the folder of the program Firefox (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.
- Firefox 13.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current version of Firefox, if possible.
- Do NOT remove the data personal when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because all profile files will be deleted and you will also lose your personal data such as bookmarks and passwords from other versions of Firefox profiles.
Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- It is important to remove the Firefox program folder to delete all the files and make sure that there is no problem with the files that were the remains after uninstallation.

Your bookmarks and other profile data stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a relocation, but make sure that you do not select delete data of a personal nature if you uninstall Firefox.

I recently installed Firefox 10 but it is not compatible with a client app, that I have to work. I need to get back to 9 Firefox. Where can I find to download?
I'm working on a laptop Packard Bell with XP.
Thank you.Hey wordsontime,
There are many benefits to the latest version of Firefox. You may want to consider the old version running on a USB key with PortableApps. This way you will always be able to run the latest version for your daily activities.
If you want to roll back to a previous version of Firefox, just take a glance section of the Knowledge Base install an older version of Firefox.
Hope this helps!

What is the latest version of Firefox for my laptop from August 2011?
I'm running Windows 8 (xp) and you plan to switch to Firefox. I would like to know what is the latest version of Firefox for my laptop?
Do you mean IE8? Windows 8 was not released.
You can use the latest version, Firefox 5.0.1. Look at the system requirements carefully to be sure that only what is necessary, especially the Pentium 4 processor and enough RAM since many XP systems came with only 256 MB. Right-click on the 'My Computer' icon on your desktop and select properties for the basic information about your system in the 'General tab '.
- System requirements: https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/5.0/system-requirements/index.html
- Install Firefox: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Installing+Firefox
- Download from (select the language and OS): http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html

Open this link in your Explorer: http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.6.15/win32/en-US/ this is a FTP link and it does not require a web browser to operate. After you download the Firefox_Setup_3.6.15.exeInstaller, you can launch it to install Firefox. See also install Firefox for details.
