'Install msi' fixing problem

I have the problem of 'install status.msi' and tried to fix it with your advice, which says 'click Start and in the Find box type msconfig." When I click Start on my computer, I don't have a search box, I have 'search' as an option, but the window does not have a box.

If you have not had luck in iTunes (https://discussions.apple.com/community/itunes/itunes_for_windows?view=discussions#/?tagSet=1234) forum, uninstall and reinstall iTunes as described below:

To perform a "clean" iTunes installation uses this technique proposed, from Support of Apple HT1926 article.  (If you are using Vista, see THIS instead).

Go to control panel > Add/Remove programs
Remove these applications in the following order (do not restart your computer if you are prompted during this process):

    1 iTunes
    2. Apple Software Update
    3. Apple Mobile Device Support
    4 Hello
5 Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)

    6. iPod for Windows (this may or may not exist, be it, it is not necessary, then we can remove it)

    7. iPod Updater

    8 QuickTime

Open my computer > C: > Program Files
    Delete these files (if present)
    1 iPod
    2 iTunes
    3 QuickTime

Follow these steps if the message "cannot delete iPodService.exe: it is used by another person or program" appears when you try to delete the folder of the iPod.

    1. Make sure that you have iTunes and iPod Update utility are not open.
    2. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete.
    3. Select Start Task Manager.
    4. Click the processes tab.
    5. Locate the iPodService.exe in the list.
    6. IPodService.exe-click and choose end process.
    7. Quit Task Manager.

    Empty your temp directory:
Open my computer > C: > Documents & Settings > username > Local Settings and delete the contents of the folder called "Temp".

If you don't see the local settings, enable hidden files:
Tools > Folder Options > view tab
Select Show Hidden Files & folder, and then click OK

Once this file is empty, restart the computer

NOTE: If you have trouble uninstalling applications, or if you have a problem, reinstall iTunes because the installer complains that it can not uninstall the current version of iTunes, see the 'Installation issues' section below.

Download & reinstall iTunes from here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

    Installation problems

There are several tools to deal with problems installing or uninstalling applications.  If you have these problems, the following should help.  Before using one of these tools (including #3), you must create a restore point from the system first (or back up the registry with C:\WINDOWS\ERUNT).  See http://windowsxp.mvps.org/registry.htm a complete disk image would be safer if you have this ability.

1 Microsoft has a program install and the resolution of the problems of the uninstalling which is supposed to "work better" and be "safer" to use the old Install Cleanup Utility (3 below).

    2. free Revo Uninstaller.  You can also download a trial version of uninstaller Revo's ' Pro', which has a few more aggressive cleaning options, but this should not be necessary.

3 Microsoft Windows Install Cleanup Utility.  Although this tool has been the preferred tool to deal with the problems of Windows Installer, Microsoft removed from Microsoft download servers because it seems sometimes deleted more than he was supposed to (I believe this was linked to Office uninstall).  You can still get Windows Installer Cleanup here--> http://majorgeeks.com/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility_d4459.html utility

    MSI 4.5 installation problems

I try to install MSI 4.5 with the windowsXP-KB942288-v3 - x 86 .exe file. I get a lot of messages that Setup could not back up the registry key... 5. access is denied.

I get this for about 10 different registry keys. If I hit ignore whenever Setup ends, but he told me that he have not installed properly and windows may not work.
Any body have ideas of how to do to solve this problem?
    Thank you

I did some further research and came across this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949377 while it is not the same update I tried to install it, the problem seemed similar. I tried Microsoft fix it at the bottom of the page and I tried again to install MSI 4.5. This time, it worked.

  • I installed Microsoft fix Center, but cannot download the troubleshooters.

I installed Microsoft Fix it Center but on all first open, when it is collecting information on my computer, I get a message "unable to download troubleshooting guides, please check your internet connection.

I looked for answers on this forum and tried the solutions proposed in the following thread:http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/fixitcenter/thread/726036bc-b281-4742-a95e-c42e2a07c920

However, these have not helped and probably because my version of windows is different from the one used by the people who provide the answers, the options I had to choose from were different from those mentioned.

    i.e.

    (1) Daniel Chow, to the title of point 3, says click on «Filter current log...» ', there is no option for me.

    (2) the response of GlobalToolSource said to select "run as administrator" on the Compatibility tab as response to Windows Vista. Because I am running XP is not available, and the only options are systems of Windows from Windows 95 to Windows 2000. I chose Windows 2000 in each case, but it has no effect.

I am running Windows XP SP3.

I use Firefox as my browser and put it so that I have to approve any cookie that wants to put in my PC.

Firefox works perfectly. I can't blame her, and I checked my list of 'Exceptions' three times looking for any blocked cookie that seems to have something to do with Microsoft or fix it and found nothing.

    Kind regards

    Hello

    Method 1.
You must install MSXML 6.0 download the troubleshooters.
    Here is the link:

    Method 2.
Also I would ask you to use Internet Explorer in this case. You can also see the thread below for more help on this issue.
XP SP3 "cannot download troubleshooting guides, please check your Internet connection."

  • Windows Update tries to install a fix KB951847 which has already been installed.

I replaced my hard drive earlier this month.  During some updates Windows installs a hotfix has been installed KB951847.  Windows Update keeps trying to install the fix even.  It happens several times a day.  How can I solve this problem?

    • KB951847 is an option, not the security update: feel free to hide it.

      ====================

      1. stop the automatic updates service:

      Start > run > (enter) services.msc > [OK]
Double-click Automatic Updates > click Stop
(Stopping the service will take a moment)

2 remove the contents of the download folder:

      Start > run > (enter) %windir%\SoftwareDistribution > [OK]
Open the download folder and delete its contents
      Close the window.

      3. go to the Windows Update Web site. Select CUSTOM and allow the analysis to be performed. Uncheck the box/deselect KB951847 and hide ("don't show me this update").

      4. start the automatic updates service:

      Start > run > (enter) services.msc > [OK]
Double-click Automatic Updates > click Start
(Starting the service will take a moment)

  • Windows Installer keeps trying to install msi.status but it will not install

Windows Installer keeps trying to install msi.status but it will not install and I think he got the other updates to the installation.  How difficult or get rid of it?

    Hello
In my view, that it is a software HP printer problem. Please, try the following:

If you have the HP software on your PC support (printers, etc.)
the disc when the pop-up window displays a location '1'. Click Browse
then open the HP disc in the CD drive. A named icon status should
appear. Click on this icon and load. This will get rid of the
    Status.msi loop.

If you do not have the original disc. Uninstall HP Photosmart all-in-One Driver software and HP update program - then only reinstall the HP Photosmart all-in-One Driver software. Do not update, just live with it. The web link for the full features of the software download is provided below.
