Install new network

I have a HP OfficeJet J4680 all in one.  I am trying to connect to a new wireless network, then lost configuration USB cord.  When I use the wizard and try to enter my password wireless, it saves only the alpha characters, and my password is digital.  How can I get the keyboard to display the numeric values?  Thank you.

Hello

by typing the password and password make sure that it is alpha / digital only. It could just be some special characters. When keying in the pavement, keep the key until the number appears. It's like texting.

  • Installed New Netgear Wireless Range extender but new network doesn't have internet access.

I just installed a machine net universal range extender for WiFi and the signal over the Wan is very strong, but when I connect to him he says that have no internet access. What should I change? I post what I'm on the Ext network.but when I try to access other sites, it won't let me.

I had the same problem as you and searched everywhere for a positive response and have not had a. I was about to return the netgear Extender when I, fortunately, has found a way around this strange problem.
In fact, it's really simple, and I encourage really all those who eventually get this problem complain to netgear not having their detailed in the guide installation process that they shipped with the product.

In my case, I have a WEP encrypted network.

If you can't access the web interface of the Extender, you need to reset the device by inserting a paper clip in the small hole next to the WPS button (if you don't know already).

When you are prompted for the encryption key and password for the network existing (the original one), you MUST WRITE THE PAST ON THE INPUT FIELD KEY word select and not the field the password. You can choose one of the 4 input key fields, but you MUST write the password on one of them and leave the field blank password (I think it's just for the WEP encryption, which is my case).

I also changed the encryption type for the new network "_EXT" from WEP to WPA/TKIP but kept the same password.

After the connection is complete the Extender successfully verified updates and all the IP addresses are assigned automatically via DHCP.

I hope that I answered in the time before returning the Extender because I don't have a kind of complained after doing this.

    Good luck
    Marlon.

    Hello

    • What is the brand and model of the printer?
    • What happens when you try to print?
    • You receive an error message?

    You can view these methods:

    Method 1:

    Disable the firewall and check.

The Windows Firewall is enabled by default in this version of Windows. To make sure that it has not been disabled, follow these steps:

    1. open the Windows Firewall by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type firewall and then click onWindows Firewall.

    2. in the left pane, click turn Windows Firewall on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3. below for each type of network location, click on disable Windows Firewall, and then clickOK. We recommend that you turn on the firewall for all network location types.

  • Time Capsule missing after installing new router

I recently installed a new wifi router for my home network. Previously, I used only my time capsule to back up data and intend to continue to use it for backups. However, with my new router, I can't find how to access the time capsule to keep backups. I have time capsule directly connected to the router via ethernet and it will still not appear in AirPort Utility or enable Time Machine to find.

    Any suggestions?

    Everything has changed.

With a new router, you have a 'new' network... and the time Capsule is to remember the parameters which it was equipped to work in your 'old' network The time Capsule is lost and he can't find his way.

Reset to return to the default settings Time Capsule

    Connect it to the router

Set up the time again to work with the "new" network Capsule

  • Unable to create the new network former TC

    Hello

So I have the current generation of TC acting as a router as well as a HDD on my old to wide wireless broadband. I experienced some problems with connectivity recently (where my MacAir shows that I am connected to the internet, but no matter what site I try to access everything simply does not load and ends up with a progression of Ribbon on the address bar of Safari-turn off and turn on the power back constantly solves the problem), but this is not what I am asking today. Recently, I had the new optical fiber internet for my house and got a new modem and everything has been installed. Only one of the four ports in the modem seems to work, but at least it works. The D-link router that came with it works fine, but I want to use my TC as the router instead. However, whenever I connect the TC on the working port, I am unable to connect. Airport utility, the lights of TC in green but 'Internet' is yellow, i.e. does not work correctly. It should be a problem with the TC because the D-link router works on the same port and connection ethernet via a thunderbolt on the same port adapter works perfectly fine as well.

Is this a problem with the old settings on my TC being incompatible with the new network? Please advise, thank you very much!

There are at least 2 different issues at stake here and possibly 3.

A question is that whenever you change the modem or the router that connects the TC, or your provider of Internet services, the TC must be reset back to settings by default, and then set it up again to work properly with the new product and the new service.

You don't mention how old your 'old' Time Capsule can be, but 3 years is on the average life of the time Capsule, if anything more than 3 years will be suspicious where reliable operation.

The third possible cause is that only a single port of your modem/router works when the four should work. If this is a real problem here, we can't say, but you have to wonder a little about the reliability of a product that doesn't seem to work properly

  • P1102w - new router, the new network not printing

I had the 1102w all set up and running on my network printing from 4 different computers. This morning, I changed a combination of westell/Belkin modem/router for a new modem router from verizon. I created a new network with wpa2 security. I got all the computers in place but the printer does not print - printer dialog reported an error in printing (no error message, just with the special printer, an error has been reported). The blue light continues to blink. I thought that it was because the printer was trying to talk with the new modem but did not have the wpa key. It also meant that I could not go in the printer from one of the computers to change the wireless settings. I tried to install it on my Surface via the USB port, but then I didn't know what to do. I tried the reboot and reset everything. I even disabled the security on the network then it would not require a password. But still, the blue LED flashes quickly and then turns off. The configuration page shows all 0.0.0.0 for different addresses even theough the computer is always looking on the IP that the printer used to keep.

Help, please! How can I get the printer to reconnect to my network?

    Hello

To connect the printer to your new wireless router, you must use the interface for installing software as follows:

    1. Download and run the latest version of the software below. escape in the installation, and then close the configuration screen that is launched:
      http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=bi-80329-8&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&OS=4132&product=4110396&sw_lang=
    2. Navigate to C:\LJP1100_P1560_P1600_Full_Solution and run the HpSetup.exe file.
    3. Select easy install, then the Series HP Laserjet Professional P1100w.
    4. Select Configure to print over wireless network.
    5. Click next and follow the instructions on the screen.
Note: the installation invites you to temporarily connect a USB cable to put the settings back wireless to the printer, be sure to unplug the unit once configuration is complete and the installation invites you to do so.

Once configuration is complete, don't forget to restart the other PC and ensure that everything is running.

  • Cannot install new hardware.

It is a very weird problem...

All computers are Windows XP with SP3.

I can't install new hardware on computers.  When I plug in a USB keyboard or USB drive, the computer detects it and adding new hardware pop-up... and every time Assistant and he told me he can't install the new hardware.

I tried with several (work) keyboards, mouse, external hard drives, flash drives all with the same result.

The keyboard and mouse that are currently connected to the computer very well - work however, if I unplug and plug it into another USB port, they stop working too (probably because they are recognized as new hardware for Windows at this time), until I plug them into their original USB ports.

In the BIOS, all new and existing keyboards work fine.  I also started a live CD of Ubuntu and all existing works and new material perfectly well there too.

I uninstalled the USB devices from Device Manager too, but there is no change.

I connected a PS/2 keyboard, which works fine in the BIOS, but then when I get into Windows, it stops working like the rest nine.

I tried to start safe mode, but no change is.

And Yes, I am an administrator on the computers.

On one of the computers I tried to do a repair of Windows by using the Windows XP CD.  I am able to boot from the CD and select start Windows repair.  However, when I get to the part of the facility where you can only select your language, NO keyboard or mouse work, and I'm totally stuck at this time.  Then I had to do a clean install of Windows on this computer, and everything's fine.  But I can't really do it to my other computer.

I don't know what else to try.  Any suggestions are appreciated!

    Hi BatmanBob,

    • You have security software installed on the computer?
    • Do you have a group policy on the computer?

    Step 1

You can also try to temporarily disable the security software of the computer and try to install new hardware and check if it installs. If you are able to install, you can contact the manufacturer of security software and check if you need to change the settings. Later, re-enable the security software.

    Step 2

You can also put the computer in a clean boot state and check if any third-party application blocking installation of the equipment and try to install the drivers in a clean boot state. Access the link below and follow the steps to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows XP.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

You can also communicate with the system / network administrator to check if there is some group policies for installing the drivers and change it.

If you are still having the same problem after following the steps above I suggest you to send your issuein the TechNet community, given that the computer is on a domain network. Please visit the link below to find a community that will provide the support you want.

  • RESOLVED: Loop of reboot after installing new disks in RAID of PERC S100

A customer has a Dell T110 (with a PERC S100 RAID controller) running Windows 2008 R2. The system has two disks: a reader not RAID (C :) running the operating system and a RAID1 drive (E :) sharing data with network folders.) We need to install again, larger disks for the RAID.

I thought I could backup the data on the RAID drive existing (e), install new disks, built a new table in the S100 (VDM) virtual disk boot manager, boot into the operating system, create the new partition for the data replaced E: drive and copy the data back. This was not the case. After installing the new disks and the new array of construction (which is reported as "READY (R/W)" when starting, Windows starts all the way in "press CTRL-ALT-DEL to log". After two or three seconds, the system reboots. The same thing happens when I try to start safe mode. The system IS NOT automatically booted to the Recovery Console. He never seems to know that an error occurred and the system was not shut down normally.

I booted into the Recovery Console, installed the drivers for the PERC S100 and run recovery to start without success. Also in the Recovery Console, I ran 'chkdsk /f E:\. ' (remarkably, the drive letter for the data drive remained the same), and no error has been reported. I also reinstalled drivers S100 of the recovery using DISM Console, but that changed nothing.

I started to 8.1 Windows PE, installed drivers S100, formatted the virtual disk, copied the data which he, and everything works fine. The only problem is when I try to boot from the system drive (which has no problem) with the new installed disks.

When I put the old records, the system boots normally with no reconfiguration required. The VDM to start automatically remembers the discs and the table. Nothing shows up in the logs event indicating that there was an error during startup. (Ntbtlog.txt) start-up newspaper, after several boots with the new drives in place, indicates that the system restarts at various times during loading drivers. There is nothing coherent in the startup log to indicate what the problem is.

The only clue I have is that, during the startup, the VDM reports the virtual drive of origin as 'NORMAL (R/W)' and the new virtual disk as "READY (R/W)", but I'm not sure of the significance of this difference or if it suggests a solution.

I can't find clues in all the newspapers about what may be the problem. If anyone has any suggestions, I will be grateful. I'll be especially grateful for the wacky suggestions.

I ran it. Nothing appeared unusual. However, I does not solve the problem.

I connect the new readers to the same SATA ports as the old records. When I connect one of them to the SATA port that had not been used as part of the original painting, the VDM S100 reported the original failed array, because readers were is more connected and showed the new table as a LOAN. The operating system then started normally.

The trick, it seems that you should remove the old virtual disk before connecting the new disks on the same ports.

  • New Network Configuration Question

Out of my element here, have a new building we are evolving towards and want to check the right way to install our network. Rooms include 1 - TZ-200, 1 - LAN + Modem wireless switch dell 1-2824 (data), switch dell 1-2824 (voice), 1 - security DVR. If I configure the TZ-200 to the dhcp server, remove the dsl, taken in the wan port modem dhcp will be the sonicwall pick up the wireless and purge the IP for wireless addresses, as well as configure the remaining ports on TZ-200 LAN will all devices to be on the same subnet/nat for easy access? can provide simple schema, if that helps.

Forget the feature wireless modem from your Internet service provider. You cannot have two routers 'work' (not in this configuration in any case). The only jobs of the modem is to feed the WAN in the Sonic and the Sonic is one that will manage all SonicOS is designed for, such as the creation and serving Dhcp. unless you are forced by the ISP contract to use the material they gave you, it may be more easy to get just a modem ADSL2 + regular that you can find in any * sale because they are unpopular with the houses of our days.

To get WiFi in your network, you will fill a WiFi 'something' to one of the LAN in the Sonic ports. It can be of any router wireless of quality home set in Bridge mode (all DLink, Netgear, Linksys, etc, they can all work such as bridges), or a wireless bridge of commercial quality (as Unifi AP).

  • How to prevent users from installing new programs in Windows 7

    Hello

I need to prevent users to install (and download) of new programs in Windows 7. I am responsible for three computers. They are not on one network (other than the internet, of course).

I read the article "How to prevent users from installing new programs in Windows 7" but I'm not sure what choice to make when I get to the choice of Windows Installer. I'm also not quite know how to cancel that so I can install the software when I have to. I've never done this if I want to be very careful.

    Can anyone help?

    Many thanks,

    KK

Are their accounts 'Administrator' or 'Standard' user level?

If they are directors of the machine, and then create a new Admin account (only you know the password) and then lower their Standard user accounts. If they attempt to install programs now it should be prompted to enter the Admin password that they won't.

    User accounts - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2663817

Also see http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/299-user-account-control-uac-change-notification-settings.html for info UAC - and adjust the required level.

If their accounts are accounts administrator and for some reason must be a competent user, then will probably be able to undo everything you put up anyway.

    PS - what specific article?

Hi, I faced the same problem, and now I have corrected this issue.

He was vmnet.ko, at least for me.

    Here's how to solve,

You can find the latest vmnet.ko of /lib/modules/~previous_kernel_version~/misc/vmnet.ko

Copy vmnet.ko into your current/lib/modules/your_current_version/misc folder.

And then run vmware, if you fail at the first, please run again.

If so, you can run vmwre!

I hope this will help you.

    Good day.

  • Vmnic numbering changed due to the addition of a new network card

Hi, I was looking for the safest way easier to fix vmnic numbering

After you install a new network adapter on the server, vmnic numbering went wacky for network cards intel, the broadcoms remained intact 'cool '.

I'm looking for a few articles online on the modification of the esx.conf under/etc/vmware and change the numbering of the vmnic to whatever it was and then removing those incompatible child row, and then restart the server should fix things up?

is there a better way or who must take care of it?

    Running ESX 4.1.0 659051

    Hello

This link seems to describe on ESX 4.

In addition, this is the procedure to follow when the NIC in the host ESX (i) remove:
