Install OS Hang

I am trying to install Windows 2003 on a poweredge 860 opportunity that I recently bought. I'm new on this and do and learn at the same time. The Unit came without HARD and CD disk drive. I installed everything and configure RAID 1. I modified the installation program to include the new disks and the system sees both the RAID controller and the CD player. I changed the boot order to go first on the CD-ROM.  The unit is now connected to a network or an external device.

I downloaded the Installation and server management, v.5.2.0, iso, and after a bit of struggle got it burned with a boot sector.

I tried to get the installation going and am failing. The unit goes through the initial startup and load the raid controller, then seems to go for the CD ROM and begins to start. The info screen will (with some modification of the longer lines for brevity).

At this point, loading crashes. I can't find anything in the configuration identifier an internal device that cannot now be there. Any ideas of where to look for problem will be highly appreciated.

If you have multiple ISO, you must concatenate them into a single image. If your single image is 1.2 GB, it should be placed on a single disc - DVD. Whether or not your 860 will read a DVD depends on whether you have a CD-ROM drive or a DVD drive. DVD was not standard on the 860.

Forgive me if you answered this in your original post, but why you use ISM? ISM is deprecated and you should use GDPS for installing the OS.

    The title pretty much sums up it. I downloaded 18 updates and he went then to the installation of these updates. He was going well until he got to number 12 of 18: "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows 7 for x 64 systems. It was 'installation' this one's for about 3 days now, no progress. I tried to stop the installation in the hope to I restarted the installation later than that would work. But when I hit 'Stop the Installation', nothing happens. It does not stop. It simply moves the window to my taskbar. So it is not install and I can't stop it. What should I do?

    I use Win 7 Home Premium, 64-bit. I don't know what service pack is charged, if any, but updates are also up-to-date so if there was a service pack, it is probably already installed. I use Kaspersky Anti-virus, all that to date, no other AVs never loaded on this machine.

  • Win7 clean re-installing suddenly hangs on "expanding files".

    I installed windows 7 Home premium 32-bit of retail dvd on a computer HP vista laptop.

    I have pure install without formatting the hard disk to create the Windows.old folder.

    After that 2 weeks, I decided to install the 64-bit version, install again but this time, formatting the hard drive.

    All worked well in out to update some drivers for HP, which has made my laptop freeze...

    I decided to go back to the 32-bit version, as no driver problem was there.

    Yet once, clean installation, put shaped hard drive to ensure that all of the "defective" drivers are ereased!

    To my surprise, he only moved up to "expanding windows files" and has frozen at 0%...

    Waited 30 minutes... nothing happened, had to press the power button to restart the laptop.

    tried again... his thing again... froze during "expanding windows files"... this time at 24%

    no movement of the mouse, nothing...

    Have you tried now on gel 10 times, each time in the course of the "windows file expansion", between 0 and 30%

    Although it does not reach 65% once!

    Also tried the 64 bit version, the same problem inbetween...

    Have you Memtest 86, test drive, test of overheating... any test that can...  ;-) all the tests passed without problem...

    This isn't a hardware problem!

    What is a registry problem?

    You have an external equipment connected to your laptop computer during configuration?

    If so, unplug them, they might interfere with installation.

  • Bought Lightroom 6 (CD installation package), but install immediately hangs on the message 'login required '. I'm on a Mac running Yosemite 10.10.3. Clearly a problem of incompatibility system. What is the solution?

    Did not say, but maybe it's obvious the program Adobe Application Manager is the one that fails.

    I did not follow through completely with the installation of the trial CC version (which seemed to be the direction that advice me would take-maybe I'm wrong). No question – the installation process of the creative Office Cloud before installing the trial version of the software has solved the problem. I suspected that I have installed something that would connect the process of necessary connection in the process, and of course, when I ran the installer on CD, he started right at the top. I had allowed the installation of the cookies before you install the Office CC, so that might well have been a part of the answer. I'm just surprised that at this point, Adobe had not heard more of this problem and taken measures to put the specific instructions. My system configuration is not uncommon. But thanks to kglad to get started me in the right direction.

  • When you try to install Windows XP SP3, I get an error that I need to have service pack 1 installed first.

    Upgrate XP problems

    Hello

    I have an older version of XP (2002) and I just reinstalled after formatting my drive. I have problems to update to sp3. I get the error: at a minimum, you must have installed SP1. If I try to install sp1a hang it up because there is no response from the server. Can you help me please?

    If you have JUST done a clean install, read on. (Otherwise after return, especially if you have already installed anti-virus software.)

    SP1a is totally useless.

    You can use this upgrade path:
    Gold XP to XP SP2 to XP SP3.
    Here are the detailed instructions:

    1. download the installation of SP2, SP3 and IE8 files. I prefer to keep these on a USB key, but this is optional. Here are the links to all the installation of three files:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=28 (for SP2)

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=24 (for SP3)

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=43 (for IE8)

    And if you wish, download the Setup file of a good anti-virus program. I recommend Avira free Antivirus:

    http://www.Avira.com/en/Avira-free-antivirus

    Other good antivirus programs include Avast and MSE (both free):

    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/products/security-essentials

    2. disconnect Internet.

    3. temporarily disable the automatic updates.

    4. install SP2. Restart TWICE.

    5 install the SP3. Restart TWICE.

    6 switch to IE8. Restart TWICE.

    7 install an Antivirus software.

    (What happens very often is that someone has their software antivirus running as they try to install SP3, which often translates into chaos! "This is why it must be done after installing SP3 and IE).

    8 make sure that firewall Windows is activated (it should be).

    (Now you can physically reconnect to the Internet.)

    9 visit Windows Update to download and install only the critical security updates.

    10 re - enable automatic updates.

    1. What is the description which are impossible to install updates?

    2. What is the message exact error do you get when installing windows update?

    I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

    Method 1: Try to reset components to update Windows from the following link and then try to install the updates.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

    Method 2:

    Also try to set up your computer in a clean boot state, and check if the same issue occurs.

    By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

    How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

    Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

    Method 3: If the problem persists then try to install updates manually from the Microsoft Download Center.

    a. go to the Microsoft Download site, type the number of "KB" of the update in the download search box and then click OK.

    b. in the list of search results, click on the (KB) Knowledge Base article link to go to the download page. If there is more than one list, look for a link that goes to the Microsoft Download Center.

    c. If there are several versions on the download page, find the appropriate for your computer. Click on the download button and save the update to your desktop.

    d. When you are prompted, click open to install the update.

    After that restore disks for installing a new HD and use and to update XP sp2, the Wireless does not work and if the card is installed XP hangs then works in fits and starts. If the card not in place, not bad at all.

    Booting from a Linux CD, the card works perfectly! I assume that the driver is the problem. The wireless card is the original, an Agere MPC13A-20/R, with Toshiba p/n PA317U-1MPC.

    I have found some drivers Agere, but am not sure

    (1) if they are correct
    (2) how to install since the machine works in a way limited with the card in place.

    Any advice?

    Hello

    I checked the page of the pilot and the only available for Windows XP WLan driver is the driver of v.1.11.108 Agere.

    (1) just try to install this driver. If the driver is not correct or is not compatible, then windows will not install the driver and you will receive a notification. You just have to try

    (2) generally you may reinstall the driver from the Device Manager. Open network controller tree, and then you can reinstall the driver.

    But this is only possible if the windows started successfully

    PS: Have you checked the information of Microsoft Windows XP SP2 update on the page of the Toshiba driver.
    I discovered that you need to update several utilities if you have installed SP2 on this laptop.

  • Question about backward compatibility

    I read that the code is compatible to the top which means that an application written with the api 4.5 should run on later models of the phone.  On the other hand, I've also seen code like this.

    #ifdef ABOVE_4_6
    Phone number = callInfo.getPhoneNumber ();
    #else
    Phone number = callInfo.getDisplayPhoneNumber ();
    #endif

    Someone who indicates that different code is necessary for different API:s. could this elaborate a little bit? Currently

    I have the same source for 4.5, 4.6, 4.7, 5, and 6, but in several places, I precompiler statements like the one above.

    For the retail world, it's a bit heavy duty 5 different executables.  Or is it possible to code so that the correct API use is decided when running rather than at compile time

    It is not possible to choose the right when running (at least not now) API. If you try to install a COD with 6.0 on a device running 4.5 APIs, it wouldn't install or hang on commissioning. The "towards the high compatibility" which is spoken is to mean that if you did a soft for 4.2.1 that will work on 6.1. Preprocessor is the best way to go since, at least for Eclipse, when you change the version of the API, it automatically sets the preprocessor for this version of the API.
