Install SBS 2008 and Documentation systems management tools

Hello

I use the GDPS 5.4 rev A00 drive try to install SBS 2008 on a PowerEdge 2950III server. The process works very well and I chose the server 08 x 64 as the operating system. Once it asks me the disk he thought for a second and shows the following error message;

Script: C:\remindpopup2.vbs
Online: 123
Char: 4
Error: A device attached to the system does not work.

Code: 8007001F
Source: WshShell.Exec

[OK]

I found an updated version of the rev A00 5.5 GDPS, but I can only download the last two iso files.

Is there anyone help any with this problem before I try to call Dell?

  • Vista Ultimate on a SBS 2008 domain, Linksys DMA2200 - managed to do work and why

I could get my Linksys DMA2200 to connect to a Vista Ultimate computer joined to a domain on the first try!

Well, let's be realistic. On my 200th test or almost, but the first test after I came across an idea.

Let me turn away from strategies area, firewalls and all the rest.  It really has nothing to do with him apparently, except to the extent where you may not have done something stupid to put in place certain exclusions.

I have not really decided if I'll put it immediately in the public domain or if so, when.

Just to tell you that the support Linksys said, it couldn't be done, but it can.

Check out my blog for updates on the publication of this information, or on my website.

Well, I had a bit of a missed out on the first DMA2200 and just got a replacement.  I have everything working fine now (with the exception that after 2-3 minutes, the box freezes if it is connected to the Media Center, just play a DVD or waiting on parameters).

Here's how to work with a computer joined to the domain, at least one running VIsta Ultimate Edition and SBS 2008, but I think it will work in general.

    1. On the field, create a user as follows:

      1. User name is Mcx1.  Note that this is the same as the local user created on the computer of MC.
      2. The password does not appear to matter.
      3. Make the members of the following groups:
        1. Directors
        2. Domain users
        3. Remote Desktop users
    2. On the Vista Ultimate computer, make sure that this domain account is configured for the computer and displays these groups.
    3. Disable user account control.  If it is enabled, the Extender to connect but then unplug immediately. An error event 107 will be published in newspapers of Media Center files.  It is the dialogue of the authorization request which causes this error and disconnects from the Extender.

That's all.  At some point during my reading/struggle to make it work, I got the Mcx1 local account as a member of administrators and users to the remote desktop, but when I did the re-install, it is no longer the case and it works fine.

For info, I have an ATI-wonder tuner attached to the VIsta box with a cable card, and the image on the HD and encrypted channels is great with just the connections component and 1080i.  Works exactly as you think it should.

Now if I can only operate for longer than 2-3 minutes without having to restart...

Hope Linksys pays attention when they said it was impossible.

    Best, Larry

If anyone has any ideas on the gel in question, let me know.

  • Can I install an ssd and its system of MacBook Pro mid-2010 on a Mac Pro mid 2009

    Hello

My MacBook Pro just died yesterday (logic board) and I want to install the SSD with the system on a Mac Pro.

I just ordered a case to install the ssd drive in the machine.

I wonder if I can boot directly from this SSD or if I do the previous setting in the system.

Given that the Mac is able to run the latest version of Mac OS X, and you want to move the SSD for older Mac rather than new, it should work. I guess that saying you 'ordered a case to install the ssd drive in the machine' you mean connecting via USB rather than internally, which would be a great test.

If it works, I would say running the combo for OS update comes on the SSD once it is installed in the older Mac.

Unfortunately, you wasted your money. What you should do is not turn
turn off the firewall, but discharge RegClean Pro and Advanced System
    Protector.

Advanced System protector is not a good choice of anti-malware
program. For an anti-virus program, I recommend eSet NOD32 or
Kaspersky, if you are willing to pay for it. If you want a free
antivirus, I recommend one (do not run more than one antivirus
program) of three of the following:

    Avira AntiVir
    Avast
    Microsoft Security Essentials

Each of these three is also very good.

You also need anti-spyware software (even if you run a program such as)
Microsoft Security Essentials, with integrated anti-spyware capability
It). I recommend that you download and install MalwareBytes (freeware)
    AntiMalware
Registry cleaning programs are all snake oil. Cleaning of the
registration is not necessary and is dangerous. Let alone register and
do not use any registry cleaner. Despite what many people think, and
What software record cleaning suppliers are trying to convince you,
have unused registry entries is not really make you hurt.
The risk of a serious problem caused by a registry cleaner by mistake
delete an entry you need is much greater than any potential benefit
    It can have.
    Read http://www.edbott.com/weblog/archives/000643.html
    and http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=28099
    and also
    http://blogs.technet.com/markrussinovich/Archive/2005/10/02/registry-junk-a-Windows-fact-of-life.aspx

Let me stress that neither me nor anyone else who warns the
use of registry cleaners never said that they always cause
problems. If they have always caused problems, they would disappear from
the market almost immediately. Many people have used a registry
cleaner and never had a problem with it.

The problem with a registry cleaner is that it carries with it
the risk of a significant problem. And since there is no
benefits of using a registry cleaner, running that risk is a very bad
    good deal.

  • Can be used with ESXi 4.0 HP system management tool?

    Hello

I'm installing ESXi 4.0 on HP DL380 G4 server and I was wondering if the management of the HP tool system can be installed along side the hypervisor, so I can remotely check the condition of the equipment of the machine.

Anyone know if this is possible?

    Thank you

I had little experience with HP SIM, it's been a while. So with ESXi, there is no agent that runs on the host computer, it uses the CIM (Common Interface Management) which is an API that can monitor the hardware and return this information to tell your server HP SIM. For the configuration and use, I recommend looking at HP and the involvement of the HP documents. If you have installed ESXi HP image, then from the point of view host you should be good. You must later have your SIM Server talk to host ESXi and sure he monitors the components you want and alert on it, etc.

Here are a few articles around ESXi and CIM blog:

  • SBS 2008 compatibility with OS windows XP/7

If the server at my workplace computer is running windows SBS 2008, and we have 2 clients running Windows XP Professional, I can configure three new customers with Windows 7. I'm not sure that the it guy who has implemented the network upward originally stated that any installation of computers in the network must run XP and could not be equipped with Windows 7. This system was the installation in July last year, and I am not interested in the purchase of new operating systems for existing customers of 2 and am not able to source XP for 3 additional guests I want to Setup. There will be compatibility problems with the configuration of computers with different OS, and they are all still will have the same functionality with respect to the initial configuration (IE still using the http://connect) and remote access

Your problem would be probably better suited to the Microsoft Technet forums, located at the:

    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/categories/

They are better directed at Windows Server and other professional level products, repost your problem it would give you better results.

  • Very slow loading of pages with content flash in IE11 in networks of SBS 2008/2011

    Hello

I have three different customers. Both of them have one with SBS 2008 and SBS 2011 with Win7 Pro 64 clients with Win7 Pro customers.

These two environments use the default folder Redirection of installation by installing SBS.

In all these networks, we experience recently that loading web sites with Flash (for example online newspapers) content has slowed down considerably when you use IE11 (Chrome/Firefox works fine).

To disable Macromedia Flashplayer in IE Addons, the browser can speed up to normal again.

I tried to reset IE, delete all temporary files and reinstalling Flash, but always without success.

I assume that others have problems with this as well, as it happened in the three different networks for me...

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

Update: IE11 reinstalled and the speed is high and will yet :-)

  • Backup Exec 12.5, ESX 4.0, SBS 2008

    Hi all

This is probably a discussion experienced; so apologies if this is the case.

    I installed ESX 4.0 on a Dell T710 recently.

On that note, I installed SBS 2008 as a guest.

The Dell server has an internal LTO 4 tape drive; who can see the prompt.

But Backup Exec 12.5 can't seem to write the date on the tape. It fails every time.

It generates the following error: "an invalid command was sent to the storage device ' "

It is apparently a known issue. VMware does not support such a together until I think. So is Symantec.

    What are my options?

    Thank you

    CT

If you are looking for a solution that can work, first try to use a SCSI device.

Add the SCSI ID of the tape of the virtual machine.

If it doesn't, try again with VMDirectPath:

  • Management tools not available to download Dell and Documentation DVD image 002 systems

    Hello

I am trying to download the tools of systems management Dell and DVD of Documentation that is provided in the form of two files OM_6.2.0_SMTD_A00.iso.001 and OM_6.2.0_SMTD_A00.iso.002.

I downloaded file 001 ok, but it doesn't seem to be a file available for download for the file 002.

I tried to use the single file that is I renamed to iso and it burned on a DVD. The server starts from he and I can start the operating system installation process, but it won't get past the stage of preparation of partition; It fails to read DVD media (I'm guessing it's because of the second missing data file).

My server is PE 2800 and selected OS is Windows Server 2008 R2.

Where can I get the file 002?

    Kind regards.

    Craig

    Hello

    Download the second piece here:

    http://FTP.Dell.com/secure/SYSMAN/

then use HJSplit to join them and burn the iso to a DVD disc.

    has worked for me :D
