Install the software and registry keys for the windows installer I screwed up after a system restore, what can I do?

After you install an update, which forced me to restart my laptop, I had to do a restore point, because it stops while windows is loading files of the update, which led me to a restoration of the system, which has messed up a large number of windows registry keys install leaving me unable to open the following software:

  • Skype
  • Avira (but not the antivirus) Launcher
  • Java

I can not install or uninstall these programs, either because I need to an .msi file that does not match the latest version of these programs, the program does not appear in the uninstall Manager or just installer does not at all, so what can I do to correct these programs and be able to install their return

The just Java installer does not appear when I double click on the .exe, no matter if it is the x 64 or 32 bits, and I can't uninstall it because it does not appear in the uninstall Manager.

Avira Launcher Installer, ask me for a .msi to remove the last version, but I can't, if the installation fails, also the program does not appear in the uninstall Manager.

The Skype installer just cannot be updated, and I uninstalled it with a 3rd party uninstaller, but now it's just throw a critical failure when starting to install

My main question is, how can I solve these installers, should I format this laptop and do a clean install of windows?

Hello

Please contact Microsoft Community.

After the description of the problem, I understand that you are not able to install programs after system restore.

In this case first I'd say allowing you to run the cities in trouble it automatically repair the issues that block the installation program or delete because of corrupted registry keys.

https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/mats/program_install_and_uninstall?WA=wsignin1.0

After that it fixes if you have any third party anti virus try to disable it from your computer and then try to install these programs.

WARNING:

Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Try these steps and ley, we know the results.

I hope this helps.

  • All Documents and the missing photos after a system restore, what happened, and how can I recover my files?

    Hello
All of my documents and photos are missing after a system restore. Here's the story. A virus called "Windows Recovery" popped up earlier and I did a system restore to get rid of him. To restart the computer, all my files and photos were missing. I used the system restore in the past in similar situations and have never had any problems. I opened MS Office, and I found some documents in the recent documents list. They open up fine and I saved them, but is only some of the documents. I can find the files in my documents when I do a search on them, but they are empty, when I open them. I also find some pictures and documents when I do a search for them by name, but I remember only a few file names, so I can't retrieve many files this way.

OK, so I just did the part of boot camp to install Windows to OS X, after selecting the amount of data you want to use Windows and how many Mac. He partitioned something before resuming, and I got a black screen. I waited, but it did not go far, so I looked at this topic and saw that someone had this problem during startup in Windows once. They said that the brightness was completely down, so that they shone with a light on it and made this way. I tried this, and of course, the selection of the language and the country by selecting the thing was there. I could just do it this way, but the thing is, I left my small window slider, and now I can't find my cursor anywhere. I just started using the Enter key to select the entire document, but I just got under the terms of the agreement thing, and I actually have to click the little box. I used it Friday so it worked, but now it's just hanging with a circle of rotation.  It works on my laptop with Windows 8 installed, so it seems to be a problem with the Surface.

When I had this problem (the permission that this is an English bought in the United States, so this may not work for you), I fixed by going into the PC settings and verification of software updates. He had some updates, so I said "run updates now". It took about an hour of updates, but after its update and rebooted, I went into the store and have downloaded all the store Windows updates without problem. Try it and see if that fix it!

  • "Error 1719. Able to access the Windows Installer Service"when you install programs.

After spending the last week every night trying to get some software installed (and of course the search for remedies in probably all available forums), I let go and post this request for assistance. But first my story:

I have lived the last week suddenly my Neat Receipts software does not recognize my scanner more. Trying to reinstall the software, I came across the error that Windows Installer could not be started. That's when I started first for solutions. I was surprised how many solutions I found (but more redoubled practically the same thing), but none did it for me. At this point, I was always under the assumption that it is a problem of the Neat Receipts software.

Then after another night of frustration I could not pass my trial version Office 2010 plus a sort of license error. I was a little surprised that the trial version which abruptly ended without giving me the opportunity to enter a license key (I got wrong), but doesn't bother too much because I liked the product and had noticed last week as well as Office 2010 is already officially released and I decided to buy it. After spending about $300 and a successful upload, I tried to install it.

And here my saga continues. First I got the message that I couldn't upgrade my trial version and need to uninstall. Uninstall with the uninstaller routine does not work (windows error message install), but I could uninstall it using the Windows-Install-Clean-Up utility. Now, I can start the installation process, but after being nearly halfway through the installation, I again get the error of Windows install the Windows Installer Service cannot be accessed (Error 1719). It is roughly the same error that I got at the beginning, when I tried to reinstall the software, Neat receipts. So, it seems not to be a misapplication of Neat receipts or Office 2010, but a windows problem.

The frustrating thing however is that after spending all hours searching online for solutions, the only thing I've discovered is that I am in good company (i.e. There are many others have reported the same problem), but none of the solutions work. Just to be safe, do not for get the same Advisor I tried already several times, let me enumerate what I've done so far:

    1. I am logged on as administrator

2 - I started the Windows Installer service

    3 - I ran SCF /sannow (no problems found)

    4. I not saved and re-entered the msiecec with / opt and/regserver. I did so explicitly for BOTH (!) msiexec programs, one in the system32 folder and the one in the sysWOW64 folder

    5. I tried to repair Windows 7 boot from the windows 7 installation DVD and run the option repair (no problem found)

    6. I tried to pass the parameter registry WOW64 (for MSIServer) from 1 to 0 (I found this in one of the suggested solutions) [and later again back to the original value 1]

    7. I tried to 'force' windows to ignore the msiexec for 64 bit (in the system32 folder) by renaming and by identifying the msiexec for 32 bit 9 in the sysWOW64 folder) and update the path regsever C:\Windows\system32\msiexec.exe \V to C:\Windows\syswow64\msiexec.exe \V

8 - I disabled my firewall and antivirus

9 - I did everything above in many variations with reset (both the save option - reboot)

-in fact, I could do things more I can't remember.

Unfortunately a recovery is not an option most, because I guess I tried too many things and my view of the possible return is a point in which my computer was already in place...

I tried to involve as well a representative of Microsoft support explaining my dilemma, but only made e-mail a generic response on this same forum (great customer service!).

While I was actually pretty happy in the last 4 months with my new Windows7 (and thus Office2010), I am now reaching the point where I fell like throwing finally the towel and kiss goodbye to Microsoft. I was seriously considering to move to Apple before decide me in February favor some cheaper hardware to continue with Microsoft and the new Windows7. But this experience not being able to fix my computer after spending nights in the search for solutions and not be able to get support from Microsoft disgusts me.

Now I wonder if there is someone out there who could help me out here...

Of course, the .msi applies only to installers .msi, which was my mistake for which I apologize.  Regarding a clean installation, the fact remains that you have faced this anomaly for several days, a clean install, despite the pain, would be a distant memory now.  This is my personal opinion, not Microsoft, they me disavowed a long time ago, in all cases MVPS have nothing to do with Microsoft, although the price is published by Microsoft, it is awarded for the caregiver, or in this case try to help others.  It is good that I can at least allow you to vent, it's better out there that maintenus kept bottled upward, no matter how hard it seems to fix the problem, it will be resolved in your favor by subsequently, one way or the other.

In pursuing the side of permissions of things you can try that if you wish.

This example may or may not work for you, with your program?

"It seems that the"Run as Administrator"command gives you administrative privileges only, and they are not enough to install Java (and OpenOffice, by association). To work around this problem, you must actually connect to an administrator. Open a command prompt with admin rights by clicking Start, type cmd in the search/run box, hit CTRL-SHIFT-ENTER. At the prompt, type:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes

Then disconnect from your regular account and record as an administrator, you should be able to install the program. When you are finished, open a session to your regular account and, for security reasons, disabling the account administrator for assistance:

    «net user administrator / active: No.»

  • Remove entries of died in the WIN7 Uninstall list after a system restore

Took to do a system restore. I had deleted some programs until I did the restore after the restore, these programs appear in the Install/Uninstall list, but they do not exist on the computer. I would like to remove the entries, but by clicking on uninstall does not work. I know there is a manual way to do it by editing the registry, but the info says that the process is for XP. I wonder if this will work as well for WIN7 or if there is a different way to do it.

    Hi Gnugs,

You can try to remove these missing entries from program using Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and check.

    1. download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility from the link below,

    2. run Windows Installer Cleanup utility menu start, select the software you want to remove by using the Windows Installer Cleanup utility.

    2) go to properties

    (4) ensure that the SYSTEM has all the permissions on ALL
