  I, too, am unable to perform this update, I get the same error.  I am running Vista 32 bit and we tried the following:

  (1) running checksur (see below)
  (2) checksur running in safe mode.  Received the error, that he could not run in safe mode.
  (3) file system Ran Checker (sfc/scannow). Received the error that I had some corrupted files that he could not adjust.   Gave me the address where to look for newspaper... couldn't find the log.

  I am running Win XP Home Edition 2002 SP3.  I have four updates that refuse to install.  They are KB874417, KB979909 and KB982524 KB982168.  I tried to install several times and they just reappear back after reboot.  I tried to use at least three different methods of another user group forum which was just closed, and none of those who worked.  I think these are stop some programs from running correctly.  Help!

  Do you have an error message when you try to install updates?

  All updates refer to Microsoft .net Framework, the installation of .net Framework 3.5.1 is a failure.

  I suggest you recommend to uninstall the .net Framework using removal tool and then reinstall them manually and check.

  I suspect that the problem may be caused by your security software blocks the installation updates. I suggest you temporarily disable any security software and then try to install these updates.

• Cannot install updates Office Professional 2003 of three; gives me code error 57F

  I have windows Vista Home Basic.  Updates of the problem are updated to Windows Office Professional 2003 security.  I have the set machine to download and install updates automatically.  All other updates are downloading and the installation without any problem.  I even re-installed Office Professional from my original CD, but I always get: 57F error code.

• Update KB951847 and KB936330 appear to install correctly, but still appear as available

  I recently reinstalled Windows Vista from an HP recovery partition and tries to get all the available updates installed.

  Update KB951847 KB936330 are listed according to availability, then appear to install almost instantly when I select the.

  However, once the two are "settled", they both returned to appearing as available again. They appear several times in the update histroy, but do not appear in the list of installed updates. Accordingly, I find that they have not been installed.

  KB936330 is Windows Vista Service Pack 1, which comes with its own specific warnings that it may take an hour to install and require several restarts, but when I agree to this direct to perform the installation, it 'full' almost instantly, so probably something wrong here.

• Windows can't check for updates, update history lists all updates but updates installed tells me that I have no updates installed.

  Hi, I use Win Vista Ultimate 32-bit sp1.  I have KIS2009, A Squared Anti Malware, MalwareBytes Anti Malware installed.  All showing my system is clean.  I ran MSRT analysis to light, and he pointed out that my system is clean also.

  Thanks for your help so far.  I hope you don't mind but today how that spending (hard day @ work) I think I'll leave the installation of repair until tomorrow.  More that likely the disc would have burst in the player, causing a sort of spike power was so my motherboard.  So I think I'll just relax tonight and I hope tomorrow is a day better.  Hope you have a good.

• Install updates, when I restart all my apps stopped working the laptop?

  I had turn automatic updates off the coast of more than 6 months because of complications with an installed update, after it installed I turned on my laptop and view error started to appear for all! Internet Explorer had stopped working, msn direct ceased to adobe flash player had stopped the list goes!  I don't know yet so far is that I had a few ready to install, I had to do a system restore to use my laptop properly! Any ideas on wht, has happened and what I can do about it, I have currently 70 updates waiting to be installed, I need this sorting asap!  all ideas welcome

  1. download the stand-alone package with four updates at a time. You can download the stand-alone version of the link with the number of KB below:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads and check if the problem is resolved.

  2. start the clean boot computer and try to install the updates manually. Link below will help you to start the computer in clean boot:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

  If you receive the error 80072efe or 80080008 when you use Windows Store, the cause may be an interruption of the connection between your computer and the Windows Update service.

  Here are a few methods you can try to solve this problem.

  Method 1: Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter.

  Open and run the Windows Update Troubleshooter to fix the problem automatically.

  Method 2: Run the troubleshooter for Internet connections.

  Open the network troubleshooter utility by hitting at full speed in the straight edge screen, quilting search (or if you use a mouse, pointing to the top right of the screen, move the pointer of the mouse down and then clicking search), inbound to identify and repairin the search box, and then tapping or identify and repair network problems.

  Method 3: Restart the Windows update service and check.

• 13 Windows updates fail to configure when installed manually, one at a time

  I just bought this gateway DX4375 a couple of weeks with pre-installed Windows 8 and had 86 important to install updates. Whenever I tried to run the update, they could not set up and took hours to undo changes.

  I've refreshed the operating system reset a couple of times and even including erase the disc without success after trying to fix the problem with all of the recommendations of Microsoft.

  Finally I tried to install them all manually one at a time. 13 (attached) of them would not move because he could not set up and kept breaking the updater. Some of them even caused the update history to be wiped and all downloaded updates deleted.

  I ran to the resolution of the problems of updating to correct errors, but they would still not set up. Even with the updates that are successful the updater is often broken and requires repair. Components Updater tool finds errors, but is unable to correct all automatic reset of Microsoft running. (attached)

  DISM.exe/online/Cleanup-image /Scanhealth ran, /Restorehealth Cleanup-image DISM.exe/online and SFC scan does not.   Thanks Vijay, but if you take the time to read my post that you will see that I tried many scans including SFC on more than one occasion. When I finally got the 8.1 update win with the help of Microsoft problems disappeared.
