Install Windows 7 on a laptop computer Windows XP

My wife has an old laptop running Windows XP. I have a whole new version of Windows 7, never used on any PC and want to install on his laptop computer. I saved all the necessary files and folders for it. I can just do an install of Windows 7 on her lappy and if are all the drivers and utilities on the version of Windows 7 that I have? I have a 32 bit and 64, disc but no drivers and disc utilities. I will be able to complete the installation? The answers would be useful, thanks in advance.

Hello

Until you try to install Windows 7, follow these steps:

Go to your laptop manufacturer's website and check if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

Check if your specifications are compatible for Windows 7:

"Windows 7 system requirements"
