Hello, I've been everywhere trying to solve the problem below and hope you can help me.

    I have a HP Pavilion Elite - HPE 180 t - Win 7 64 bit OS.

    System Info 9 physical memory GB - memory Modules 5 - video Card1.8GB GeForct NVIDIA GTX 260 (2 DVI, HDMI and VGA adapters) - Intel(R) Core (TM) i7 CPU 950 @3. 07 GHz - 8 GB of SDRAM DDR3-1 066 MHz (4 DIMMs) - 1 HDD 1 TB 7200 RPM SATA 3 Gb/s.

Problem: I don't want Windows 7 and I try to install XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2 - Full Version/CD ROM.  I put the disc in and the installation option is grayed out.  What should I do to prepare my system to accept the installation?  I have my backed up system.  If I erased my hard drive would that work?  Is it possible to install over Win 7 or have two operating systems installed? I've seen advise to set the BIOS but cannot figure out how to display the screen upward at the start.  I looked in the manual of HP and do not find the information.

    Any direction is most appreciated.

    Hello

Windows XP is an operating system not supported and XP installation may void your warranty.

If you want to continue using XP, I would make sure that create you HP recovery discs before you start anything.  Wipe the hard drive should allow you to install XP.  I don't know what are the options you have the disk to install XP but I get an advanced option and try a Dual Boot or install double if you want to run two operating systems.  To help you, do a search for "dual boot windows 7 and XP" or something similar and browse the results.

  • Centro not sync-ing for Win XP Home Edition with Service Pack 3

My new Palm Centro can't synchronize Palm Desktop running on Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 3.  The Palm "getting started" Troubleshooting (very polite and free) told me I could go back to Service Pack 2, or upgrade to Vista.  There is a kind of incompatibilities between SP3 and current HotSync Manager.  I'm going to buy a Mac before I go to Vista, and do move back is unattractive.  Anyone know of another work around?

The problem was that Agendus 4.31 does not work with Palm Desktop 6.x.  You must upgrade to a newer Agendus.  After some research by me and iambic, the manufacturers of Agendus, we discovered that I was given bad advice about the compatibility of the Agendus older and latest Palm Desktop.  Once I bought and installed an upgrade, things started working properly.

  • I have 11 GB of free space on my hard disk 37 concerts. I have a xp home edition with sp 3. I'll be able to install windows seven?

What is the capacity of minimum disk for windows7 32 bit

Windows 7 requires a minimum of 16 GB of hard drive only for the operating system; because the upgrade to Windows 7, XP requires a custom (clean) install (your hard drive will be formatted so earasing everything) you do not meet the minimum disk space requirement (just by the standards of today ' hui).

However, there are many other vital needs that must be considered. Windows XP Home only required of 64 MB of RAM; Windows 7 requires 1 GB (1 024 MB) RAM. Windows XP Home Edition required a processor that was held at 233 MHz or faster; Windows 7 requires a processor that runs at 1 GHz or faster. And these specs for Windows 7 are the bare minimum, which would mean that Windows 7 would be but its performance would be less then optimal.

For Windows 7 complete system requirements are described on the page linked below:

    Windows 7 system requirements
     http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/system-requirements

In addition, Windows 7 was designed to run on the more recent material by using the latest technologies; your Windows XP Home Edition pc probably is at least 7 years and more. In today's technology, your system is almost ancient. Of many computers and hardware manufacturers create drivers for Windows 7 for older computers, so this can be a serious problem. You can run the free Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, which will determine if your system is capable of running the new operating system:

    Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor
     http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor

In the Windows 7 Compatibility Center, you can search all your devices (printers, scanners, cameras, etc.) and software to determine if they are compatible with Windows 7:

    Windows 7 Compatibility Center
     http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

If your system, devices and programs the requirements for Windows 7 is entirely to you to upgrade or not, but in my humble OPINION No matter what ancient system has simply not material to make Windows 7 run the way you want, and finally you would probably be very disappointed. In other words, it may be time to think about a new computer.

  • Can I reinstall Windows 7 Basic Home Edition with product key?

my computer hp laptop provided with windows 7 Home Basic installed, but it was crushed. I was wondering if I could reinstall windows 7 Home Basic with the product key?

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

    OR

    Reinstall Home Basic

You will need a whole in a single installer disk that you can use to select Windows 7 Home Basic Edition during installation. See the following for instructions:

  • Cannot format disc disc HARD NTFS - Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 3

Hi, I hope someone can help me to solve this problem, because it drives me crazy. I have Dell Inspiron 4500 which HDD is running out of space. There was also a problem with the disc essentially installed 2 new 1 x 120 GB Maxtor hard drives and 1 x 320 GB Hitachi. I installed Windows XP Home Edition on the Maxtor from scratch and load all the drivers and patches, etc... However whenever I try to put in place the Hitachi under NTFS, it falls on the formatting. If I use third-party tools all right until you try to access it through windows, then I get "cannot access the disk, the files are corrupted or damaged. In windows Disk Manager, you can see the drive, but the file system is empty. I can take out the drive and set up on my other machine without problem. I can set up the correct disk in FAT32? If I then try to CONVERT, switch again.

Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind rgds

    Hello Maver1ck63,

Thank you for your message.  You have the jumpers physics master/slave accordingly?  Otherwise, the value OS hard drive (Maxtor) to the master and your Hitachi to the slave.  After a reboot, your system recognizes this drive in 'my computer '?  If so, can you right click and format the drive?  (Keep in mind, the formatting will erase all data on the disk, you will need to back up any important information before formatting).  If you cannot access or recognize this drive:
Click 'Start' > right click on 'My computer' > select 'manage '.
    Click on "disk management".
Do you think your player, you can get in shape from here (or assign a drive letter if it is not recognized in my computer)?

  • Have a Dell PC with Windows XP Home Edition with restoration, internet and the program of the questions that I went into the details in the body of the present.

I have a Dell with Windows XP Home Edition system that uses the internet connection. Friday, he had a problem with images in line being "pixel-ed", which means that the image was blurred and boxes. So I did a restore of the system back as much as she would in July and concluded that the IAF has a program called accelerator that had been implemented to go faster, but eventually would make very good images. Then, I got that part fixed but now a game that I play "Mahjongg" won't play right and when I go to the area "help and support" to try to reschedule, so it don't open even now. Can someone help me please? Thank you

Thanks for the help. I returned and reinstalled everything, even if it was already installed and now everything works.

  • Compatibility problem XP Dell Wireless 1395 mini-map WLAN driver currently installed Vista Home Edition 32 bit Service Pack II

Hi, my OS is Windows Vista Home Edition 32 bit Service Pack 2 - installed on XP by the owner without first unintalling XP.  Although my Device Manager lists the mini-map Dell Wireless WLAN 1395 as working properly, what Windows says that it has stopped working correctly because the driver installed is not compatible with my current operating system (just one of the many questions).  Although I can get online wireless most of the time, IE and Google Chrome often freeze and there are a few minutes, I got a blue screen - not for the first time - that shut down Windows.  I note the other error message information that a fatal error has occurred that required Windows stops, so am not sure that the two problems are related or not.  I tried to find a compatible driver for what I assume is a WLAN Mini card for the original XP OS on the compatibility of Vista site, but there is no driver is listed for the Dell Wireless WLAN mini-map 1395.

I have the Vista installation CD, but not the verification code necessary to reinstall.  It will appear somewhere on this computer under the program or the ancillary system (information) available to administrators?

Just out of curiosity, there is a feature of rectangular white USB printed with the name "Biogear" attached to one of my ports, although he is not listed among devices on my computer since the computer laptop original owner died and I can not ask what is its purpose or what program it was meant to facilitate. I tried to remove it and it came out (the envelope detached the part inserted into the USB port) without affecting my ability to access the Internet wireless.  An internet search has a line of golf apparel and a few articles in German... Any ideas?  Thanks, Lara

If the original owner installed Vista on XP, you need to reformat and do a fresh install of Vista or you will continually have problems multipling. If the original owner is an update from XP to Vista it is OK. However, the problems that you're seen suggest the original owner installed Vista on XP. Verification code (if found on the computer) will not be for Vista but for XP. As long as your operating system is installed, you can retrieve the key with Free Key finder software, do a search and you will find them on the internet. Also if you have the CD and ask for a new key to Microsoft you will get it at a very low price, I don't know no current tax, was $ $10,00. Since you are not the original owner (and the first owner died) both of these options may not be totally legal, unless you can provide proof of purchase or the person deseased was a member of the family.

  • can I put my xp home edition with my drive of w7 restoration?

    pls help

I have Acer Aspire 5000 windows xp home edition dat needs, the upgrade will be my recovery disc of my work from home premium to windows pc 7? thxs

XP and win7 are different animals, and the recovery for win7 disc is not compatible for your machine xp for a number of reasons.

However, your laptop should have the ability to run a factory restore, which is what are recovery disks.

There are instructions on how to do a factory restore to his homesite.

Just look for the model number of your machine and look at the manual online and faq on the subject.

but don't forget that a factory restore will erase the entire hard drive and restore all the original software the machine had when it left the factory.

If you need to move or copy all your personal files from the hard disk before performing a factory restore.

In addition, it is likely that after doing a factory restore, you will have the option to make a set of recovery disc for the laptop.

Finally, you should be also updated if your machine is faced with a physical hardware problem, a factory restore will not solve it.

so if you're having problems with your machine, it could be a 50% chance that it's a software or a 50% chance, it may be a faulty hardware.

In addition, recovery disks do not improve the system.

because of their goal to restore the original software, the system should be downgraded, se, after using recovery discs...

However, an alternative to performing a restore using recovery disks or factory.

some problems can be solved by borrowing / use a xp set up option cd recovery console.

  • Infected disk formatting; Installing XP Home Edition and it calls for disc SP1

I have an old pc that has been infected by a virus, spyware, and Trojan horse. I was able to log in safe mode and run anti-virus programs and remove most of the problems finnally. I wanted to format the hard drive and start over to make sure you have a clean pc. I have Windows XP Home Edition. After copying the files requested the installation of the service Pack 1 cd that I don't have. However, I have the SP 2 cd that I put in but it didn't recognize the cd or find the file that it was seeking to continue the installation. What should I do to clear the checkpoint of the installation?

    Hi RandyZeuske,

You try to upgrade Windows XP on-site. This operation reinstalls Windows XP to the same folder on your computer where it was originally installed.

However, before you perform the upgrade on Windows XP site, back up important data to another location as disc CD/DVD, USB etc.

For more information, see this link.

How to perform an upgrade on the spot (reinstallation) of Windows XP

If Windows XP was preinstalled on the computer, you can contact your computer manufacturer to order Windows XP install disks.

    Hope the helps of information.
