Install XP Pro on a nc8430

I try to install XP PRO on a computer from Compaq nc8430 and have had the same results with 2 different drives. The status line shows all first, there is a 300 GB drive, then it passes to 3.9 GB. It is with the SATA Native mode disabled in the BIOS.  In native SATA mode, I see only avaiable total 3.9 GB on the disk. I can format 300 GB using a bootable cd.
Any ideas?

Hello:

I think that the player could have been a little too big for the machine...

I'm sure that you need the system driver mobile protection for one of these devices missing ACPI:

http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=1839150&prodNameId=1839197&swEnvOID=1093&swLang=8&mode=2&swItem=PSG_I23293-108276

The other can be your quick launch buttons driver:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=1839150&prodNameId=1839197&swEnvOID=1093&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ob-57820-1

Let me know if that has them one or all of the. If you have still a lack I think then this is the TPM driver which I do not see even on this support page. Try this one out a 6910p:

Also, I have to admit I'm a little confused about why IE8 would cause problems during your installation of driver, you are sure that the driver is a 64-bit driver?  And, as much as having SP3, you said in your original post that you have SP2.  If you are running Windows XP Pro x 64 there is no SP3 and SP3 for x 86 systems can be applied to x 64, anyway (at least to my knowledge so far, I'm on Windows XP Pro x 64, which is almost based on the same core as Windows Server 2003 SP3 would not move on).  Once you get removed IE8, after back again if you have any other questions and I'll try to help you find a driver that works.  :-D

I can't upgrade because of the other language.
I downloaded all the drivers of your site, but after insttallation I still have a problem with the FireWire (lack of driver).
Then I also checked that the drivers of toshiba sure power are missing too.
    What can I do?
    Best regards

    Hello

on the driver download site, you can download the installation instructions. Follow this order of installation. Toshiba Power Saver utility can be downloaded from the pilot site, too.

You can also use your CD tools & utilities. There you can find all the programs and drivers for XP. Doesn't matter if it's home or teacher, the drivers are the same. But maybe some drivers from the download site are updated to a newer version.

  • Satellite M70: How to install WXP Pro without SP with SATA drivers?

I know that this topic is discussed repeatedly,
I get a blue screen when I try to install WXP pro... blah blah blah

The solution is to install the SATA drive.

The problem is that I don't have a floppy drive to install the SATA drive, so what can I do?

    Hello

The use of the disk is the best way to install the SATA or RAID drivers.
But I searched a bit on the net and found nLite.
You can use nLite and include the drivers then you do not have to use the
    floppy.

  • 3110CT no sound after installing XP Pro

I am a novice when it comes to laptops, so here's the problem: my 3110 ct no sound after installing XP Pro. Had no noise when I bought it with another operating system, the report says no audio devices installed.

Does this mean that I have to make a chip for laptop or a driver, I need & where can I find the driver or the part for this.

    Help, please.

Usually, if the audio driver is not installed you will get no sound, but also a yellow exclamation point must appear in Device Manager.

If the sound card chip is damage, I imagine that you will not be able to see the yellow exclamation point belonging to the sound card in Device Manager.

You bought this Portege as a second hand unit. Am I wrong?
So maybe the sound card is faulty.

The computer uses an ES1978 ESS (Maestro-2E) and sound chip ES1918.
Check if you can find an audio driver XP in internet.

  • Install XP pro or monitoring of Qosmio F50

    Hi all

I would buy a Qosmio F50, but it has Vista installed on it. And I prefer XP so I would like to know if it is possible to install XP pro or monitoring on this computer, because I saw that there are only the Vista and not XP drivers on the support page of the toshiba site. And if possible, could you tell me where I can find these drivers XP?
It's the only thing that can stop me to buy the F50 (Qosmio of course, because I will never buy a Ferrari in my life lol)

I apologize if there are errors in my text, because I am French (and you know that we are still on strike when we had to go to school to learn English lol)

    Thanks for your replies

Theoretically, I see no problems with installation of WXP but this laptop model is not supported for Windows XP Home edition you will never be able to get 100% working. Computers laptops Qosmio are portable multimedia and if you want to use it 100% you much Toshiba designed tools and utilities.

If the tools and utilities are not designed for Windows XP Home edition, you will be able to use your laptop for basic stuff. To be honest, I can understand your wish to install Windows XP Home edition, but you also have to look forward and learn to use the new operating system. I'm using Vista more than a year now and I am satisfied. With the right configuration, you will have good and stable operating system.

I've also tested Windows 7 and I am sure that the system will work better than Vista. So I say buy Qosmio F50 is the right decision. Optimize Vista preinstalled and enjoy this beautiful laptop.

You can also install Windows XP Home edition on the second partition and use two operating systems.

  • I have problem with installing WXP Pro on my Satellite M70

    Hello all,.

I have a M70-160 with XP home SP2 and everything is fine, except a wireless issue. I have a pop-up message that says "limited or no connectivity" when I try to connect to my linksys router. It seems that he cannot take the good IP. I searched the web and found that there is a bug in XP SP2. So I tried to install XP pro (without SP) startup from the CD but when it gets all the checks in the blue screen and then says "starting windows" so I format and clean install, nothing happens. He stayed with the blue screen saying "windows start" for 15-20 minutes, as if long waited. So I turned it off. I tried several times but no luck.

I just have to wait for a while or is this something else and what?

I hope understand you and sorry for the big post.

    Thank you

    Hello

In my opinion, you need to install Windows XP with all service packs.
I studied a bit in the internet and found this page useful:
    http://www.HelpWithWindows.com/windowsxp/Troub-13.html

Also check this Toshiba problem page:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/884020

I think it is enough to download and install the hotfix updates and everything should work fine.
Alternatively, you can try to reset the router.

  • Impossible to install XP Pro on Satellite A200 - 25H

Cannot install XP Pro the Satallite A200 - 25H
During the F6 XP pro installation I use the drive USB floppy and drivers Intel 82801 HEM / HBM SATA AHCI, and he lets format me the drive NTFS.

Then asks for Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver. in the A: drive.
The Bios doesn't allow me to disable SATA. In fact, the CMOS is very bare bones

After that I tried using an XP - pro (with the included sata driver) slipstreamed installation CD, but the result was the same
It asks me to insert (Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver. in drive A :)

For some strange reason not the USB floppy not even try to read the disc when you press return.

Any help would be appreciated, since I am out of ideas

    Thank you

    Yes, I have a Council.
In my opinion, you should use nLite (its free) software and you must include the SATA drivers for the new CD of XP with nLite.

I did it last month and it was very easy. Everything worked perfectly!

Google a bit for more information regarding the nLite

None of these suggestions to the Microsoft support technician will help you, but they will consume large amounts of your time.

Please post a link to this Marilyn Microsoft engineer answer Support responses involving some registry maybe going to I can see that too.

Older versions of PowerDesk Pro 7.x are known to cause explore crash, so that the sounds on the right.

The current version of PowerDesk Pro is 8.5.

You might be able to get the old version to behave by disabling PowerDesk one shell extensions at a time until when you right-click Explorer no longer crashes.  This will leave you with limited functionality of PowerDesk since those afflicted extensions will be disabled, but you should not have these extensions to do anything, you need to make sheets.

I would start with the PowerDesk ZIP shell extension (I already know about this one).

It is a version shortened and changed my notes on the use of ShellExView (since you already think sheets):

Download ShellExView here to see what Explorer extensions you have loaded:

    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/shexview.html

ShellExView does not install anything on your computer, simply of runs and displays.

After launching ShellExView, under Options, choose "Mark non-Microsoft Extensions" and extensions not Microsoft will be pink, clear, but on some systems which is a difficult color to see, so click on display, choose the columns and move the column Microsoft closer to the top, so you can see on your screen without having to scroll left and right.

Click on the column header for Microsoft sort display (by clicking on the column of Microsoft) then all the non Microsoft extensions are on top and easy to see.

Non-Microsoft extensions would be things you have added (non-Microsoft) and are what you should be suspect.

You can also Google the name of a suspect add-on and see if there is any success on the mistakes of the DEP and what other people have done about it.

For example, you could Google something like:

Explorer XP crashing (you must fill in the name of add your suspect on.)

See what kind of search results hits you get and are looking for solutions or situations that sound like yours.

Right click and disable Microsoft no suspicious extensions one at a time take a list so you can enable them again later if you wish.

The result of the change is immediate and no reboot is necessary.  Test your failure condition.  If the Explorer starts to behave, you will know which extension is the culprit, then you can start to enable them one by one until the Explorer fails again.

Don't forget - disabling the extension does not uninstall the extension - it is just disabled so you can always turn it on again.

Disable them one at a time until your right click on do not generate an error, then restart and test again.  You have disabled the last extension would be suspicious.  You can then start to reactivate other extensions to zero on the extensions that are causing your accident

If the cause of the accident is a third party application or program, their may be a later version of the program available that solves the problem.

If you find the offending extension that's the problem, please let us know what it is that I can add to my list.
