Install XP: Setup did not find any hard disk installed
I have this old computer. When I try to install Windows Xp, it says that Setup did not find any hard disk. I have readers of diskette and cd on the computer. A source told me that I need a SATA RAID driver until I do.
Correct, you will need to download the appropriate TXTmode drivers and put them on a floppy disk. If you have a MSI motherboard in your system, you will get these drivers from MSI.
It would be also possible to get Windows to load with a change in your BIOS settings, but I recommend that get you the correct drivers.
I'm trying to re-start Windows XP on a disk (file missing or corrupt ntoskrnl.exe). Whenever I press the 'R' to repair key I get this error message:
Setup did not find any hard drives installed in your computer. Make sure that the hard drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any hardware configuration of the drives is correct. This may involve a diagnosis provided by the manufacturer or the installer running. Setup cannot continue. To quit Setup, press F3
Someone at - it ideas?
It is perhaps that the hard drive is not connected properly. Make a person qualified to check the connections of the hard drive to make sure they are solid, you need to maybe disconnect and reconnect both ends of the cable.
I suggest you return the article mentioned below to learn how to fix ntoskrnl.exe.
Error message: "Windows did not start because of a configuration of the disk of the computer problem.

I own a laptop Presario X1015US and recently bought a new hard drive for her (Western Digital Scorpio Blue PATA 160 GB) but when I insert the operating system CD it goes through the entire process until it gets to a page where it says:
Family Windows XP Setup
Setup did not find any hard drives installed in your computer.
Make sure that the hard disks are turned on and properly connectd to your computer, and that any hardware configuration of the drives is correct. This may involve a diagnosis provided by the manufacturer or the installer running.
Setup cannot continue. To quit Setup, press F3.
I'm not sure of what I am doing wrong and hope someone can help me. For example -.
-J' checked the Bios and I do not see where the drive sits - have I missed something?
-The drive I bought compatible for this model - electronic Fry told me that it is.
If the bios does not see it, installing XP will ever either.
Some older laptops have a problem with the largest hard disks (more), I return the drive and see if they have a 120 GB model.
Can also be that you just got a bad.
Make sure that the hard drives are powered on and well connegted to your computer. And that any hardware configuration of the drives is correct. This may involve running a program diagnosis provided by the manufacturer. How do the hard disk driver. so I can see if everything right?
You will get the driver from the website of the manufacturer of the hard drive.
I can't change windows MSE for vista on my G30 set up can not find any hard disk installed on it, but with toshiba drive reanimator it works! can anyone help?
If I understand you right you use a disc of Microsoft to install Vista.
Have you heard of driver SATA? You will need this driver otherwise that your HARD drive will not be recognized.
Download drivers (as far as I know the Intel Storage Manager) and load it after booting from the CD or use you nLite.
In the forum are already a lot of thread on this Yes please read a little.
I just installed Windows 7 on a PC that I just built. Being new to Windows 7 I started to play around him and did not find any games at all. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Salvation Ita; tribal
Congratulations on a newly built Windows 7 computer. Selected games may not be that is the reason why you are unable to find all the games on the computer.
Follow the steps to turn on the games feature.
1. click on start.
2. type optionalfeatures.exe in start search.
3. place a checkmark for the games.
4. click on OK.
After the computer has been restarted, check if you can play games on your computer.

My HARD drive crashed so I bought a new and now my BIOS can not find it, and when I try to install XP, it says that it cannot find any hard disk.
What should do? The new HARD drive is a Samsung SATA 2.5 "artno:HM121HI...
Please help me... I'm going crazy...
The BIOS should recognize the new HARD disc without any installed SATA drivers!
The SATA drivers are needed only for Windows OS!
Please check the position of the jumper on the HARD drive. Usually, these riders are avaialbel for 3.5 HARD disk but some 2.5 drives hard also supports a rider where the master/slave/c-salt settings could be changed
Hi all. I got this laptop from a friend, but it had a bios password and nobody knew what it was. I try to install windows xp professional on this topic. Its a HP Compaq NC 6400, which apparently worked, but someone has changed the password in the bios and after MANY attempts of trial and error, I finally got one to begin but hard disk dive was insane. I tried to load a new copy of windows, but just to the time it gets to where you press ENTER to install windows, it says that the installation program is not all hard drives installed on your system.
When I there remove the hard disk and it slave on my desctop pc it shows his works very well. Please can someone help because I don't know what to do next!
Thanks in advance
Hi Paul. Thanks a lot for your quick response! I did what you said and now windows installs beautifully. I had somehow sorted bios password history by reading the Internet, and after MUCH advice to try all of a sudden. I'm if happy there are smart people like you out there!
Thanks again for your help.
Hi all -
I try to install ESX 3.5 on Windows 6.5 for learning virtual machine. During installation it says "Installer could not found no supported network devices.
My Intel Core2 WD system and the NETWORK interface is "Realtek RTL8168 (p) / 8111 PCI Gigabit Ethernet.
Please let me know why I get this error.
Thanks in advance... J
Make sure that the virtual network adapter is connected - also if you did not check the white paper on the http://knowledge.xtravirt.com/ title VI3.5 in a box - provides detailed instructions on how to set VI 3.5 under my computer.

I have a few problems on my laptop [Acer 3810 t]
-The first problem
My mobile give me screen "cannot start windows' who have 2 choices: run the Startup Repair tool and boot normally. I chose to fix it, but nothing happens and stuck "starting windows" and gives unmountable boot volume 'blue screen '. the Dungeon of blues screen appear (for laptop is a not restart). So I turned off my phone and turn it back on it. the "could not start" screen again and I chose to start normally. but the result is negative. My portable Dungeon cannot start windows. Because of that I am using the advanced boot option and choose all the boot type such asit cannot load the safemode, last configuration etc, but the result is the same, you cannot start windows. in safe mode, its stuck in loading fileinfo.sys. I do not give up to try again with the advanced boot option. until I have a bad situation. My laptop can only 1 file in safe mode and blues screen do not appear again (my laptop only return at the beginning of start or restart)
-The second problem
because it cant solved, I want to reinstall my laptop. My OS is Vista 32 bit (pre-installed). I want to install the new operating system, windows 7. I use Dsik Flash bootable USB to install Windows 7. But in the BIOS, it is detected as a USB HDD. So I set my BIOS to load USB HDD to the first order. the installation can be done, but only until the "start Setup" screen and its deadlock. I have it wait up to an hour, but nothing happens. So I'm going to BIOS, change SATA mode to IDE mode AHCI. Then load the USB and go "installation program start screen. but the new problem is the installation of window does not detect my hard drive. So I can not choose the place to install the operating system. I have to load the driver, but I did not. Again to load the configuration to AHCI and IDE, until I get my HDD can detected in IDE mode. So I think I can move easily, I choose custom installation and choose the hard drive to install the operating system. But unfortunately, at the beginning of the process, after choosing the OS, the Installer gives error if installation location the installation failed. (I forgot the error message)
-The third problem
So far, I can't spend 'startup begins' as well in mode IDE and AHCI. Also bootmgr in my hard disk is missing, so I can't go to move the startup repair or the startup option in my HDD as before
What is the error code that you got with blue screen?
I think that there is a problem with your drive HARD check that by contacting acer...

boot on the CD/DVD and hard disk to boot to that. If you set it on a CD/DVD don't forget to return to hard-

Try these from a Vista startup disk command prompt - type each at the prompt and press ENTER after each.

Sometimes using EasyBCD works when other methods are not.
Recover the Vista or Windows 7 bootloader from the DVD
Recovering the Vista Bootloader with EasyBCD
Repair the Windows Vista boot loader
If that works then run StartUp Repair twice the Vista boot disk, run once then
Restart and then run again.
I hope this helps.
I bought a wifi adapter and installed the driver, but my computer says theres something wrong with it. This is the second card, I tried, and both had the same results. Troubleshooting did nothing, is there anything else I can try?
I suggest you try the procedure described in the article and see if it helps.

Ive got a R50.
Recived with no hard drive installed.
Put a disk of 10 GB inside Ibm. Worked very well. Then my hard drive died. I tried to replace it with many readers and no detection in the unit. Toshiba-MK6014MAP was not detected. A seagate ST94019A. ALSO have an IBM Travelstar IC25N020ATCS04-0, which does not detect.
I found but cannont find the R5X support each tested hard drive list. Can someone point me in the direction of this HDD compatibility list it would be great.
See you soon
My guess would be that readers are not inserted correctly or do not sit right in the caddy. It takes 1/10 mm for a player is not being recognized in the BIOS.
I have owned dozens of units R5x and will specify that there is no such thing as 'an incompatible reader' on any R50/p/e or R51. R52s get the "2010" error, but the drive is still recognized and operational.
I hope this helps.
