Installation disk or memory stick

I'm trying to fix my non technical friend's cell phone. It's a 15-n267sa, purchase of 2014, Windows 8.1.

On the attempt to start, I gte a blue screen with lots of words, and the computer turns off while I'm writing them down. GRRR!

It said that the start-up configuration file contains no valid information for an operating system. File: \BCD code 0xc0000098 error recovery on the installation media tools are needed (disc or USB device).

My friend did not receive or lost any installation media.

Is it possible to get a disc or USB that will assume a repair? I searched HP website, but I couldn't find any information on it. I have all channels, serial model and product.

Now you tell me! I just lost 2 hours because of this. CRAZEEEE!

Twice my disk flash (memory stick) has been 'write protect' lit (two different memory sticks). How can I turn off write protect?  There is no physical switch or tab on the memory stick. Write protect got turned on while I was using Windows Explorer to copy files from an external hard drive on the memory stick. There was no message during the copy process. Only, I discovered when I tried later again copy the files. Received the message that the drive was write protected.

  • New Installation of Windows 10 using Memory Stick

Installed Windows 10 of a download of Microsoft with the iso installed on a memory stick with training camp. After you have created a Bootcamp partition I couldn't install Windows on Bootcamp partition due to an error message 'GPT Partition Style'. Reformatting of the Windows installation screen did not help. The solution came as a surprise. I was start from the windows 'disc' when I should have used the IEF 'drive '. After starting the EFI, reformatting of the Bootcamp partition disk worked and the installation went well, with the exception of the Setup screen was too small to read easily. Fortunately, I was familiar with the installation of the failure of the previous installation screens.

Windows 10 works fine now. The link below is what led me to a solution.

    http://code-zest.blogspot.com/2015/02/Windows-8-install-GPT-partition-style.html

Your MAC supports two installation methods, inherited from the BIOS/MBR (used for XP, Vista, W7) and EFI/GPT (W8 +, W10). The first method requires a hybrid MBR to 'map' the GPT to a MBR-look-alike. EFI/GPT boots are 'native' and faster than the legacy method.

  • create a bootdisk on a memory stick

I would like to create a bootable disk or a disk image on a stick of memory from 32 GB to be used as a startup. I buy a new Mac, iMac or a Macbook. I would like to know the migration process only certain apps and files, for example, what is the actual method. I don't want to clutter the new mac with everything I don't want to use in this regard. I migrated from a Mac to a newer version before, but it was the disc that only moved problems as well.

    Thank you

32 GB memory stick.  You can install a bootable using Diskmaker X Installer

    <http://liondiskmaker.com>

Or you can install an OS X on it.  But you can not install this copy, except by cloning on another disk using something like Carbon Copy Cloner, SuperDuper or disk-> utility restore.

You are in the forum Lion, so I should mention that if you buy a new Mac, it will come with El Capitan, and the new system will work NOT Lion.

Applications-> utilities-> Migration Assistant to transfer selected data classes, but it is not very well underseeded.

You can drag and drop some of your applications and data (assuming that the Applications do not store things in other folders).  Some things, like your email, browser bookmarks, backup iPhone, application preferences, etc... are in your folder-> library (Finder-> go-> (hold down Option Key)-> library).

It may be best to simply re - install all the apps.

You can use a utility such as Carbon Copy Cloner to transfer data.  He has the ability to transfer selected files, as well as all the property and the attributes of the file.

Better to keep a full backup of your current system so that you can go back and get things you forgot.

  • SONY Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo MS-HX16A doesn't work in Vista Business 32-bit

When I insert my memory stick Duo PRO-HG in my laptop gateway E - 155 running Vista 32-bit Professional (Service Pack 2), and I check the Device Manager, a device called "MemoryDisk0" appears under the "Disk drives" section of Device Manager.  It runs by default windows drivers disk.sys and partmg.sys.  The disk memory is not recognized by Windows (it does appear as a hard drive under 'Computer'), or he 'fills' when this button is pressed under "Volume" in the Panel properties for MemoryDisk0 (I get an error msg).  ALSO: if I hit "Scan for hardware changes" or even "Uninstall" for this device, the system just loops - nothing happens, and I have to use Windows Task Manager to end the task.  ALSO: if I try to restart my computer, Windows will not come - I need to remove the Memory stick or return o a previous installation of good.

How can I get Windows Vista Business 32-bit to recognize the drive correctly?  I visited the site of SONY, and the only driver I can find for sticks of memory is the MSAC-EX1.  I did try and 'forcing' Device Manager Vista to load this driver for MemoryStick0, but Windows says that it is not a compatible driver.

    Hello

    1. When you mention "I get a msg of error", what is you get the exact error message?

In Device Manager , right-click on the "MemoryDisk0" and select Properties, and check what error code you get and post back with the details.

    2. have you tried to connect a different Memory Stick?

If other USB keys connect very well, then I think your SONY Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo MS-HX16A could be faulty and you may have to contact Sony for better help.

Afterwards, do a right-click on the device (MemoryDisk0) in Device Manager and try to update and check if that helps.

  • Satellite R20 - Memory Stick PRO Duo problem

I looked and saw a lot of similar posts from users with a similar problem. Unfortunately, most of the answers suggested by looking at the user manual and taking note that the phone does not support the Memory Stick PRO Duo. Technically, that's true. However, many Sony cameras come with an adapter that turns the PRO Duo stick a Memory Stick PRO. These include very well in Flash Media Bridge adapter. The manual also indicates that the drive supports this stick.

What's weird, is that Windows Vista recognizes the insertion of the memory stick, but he then told me that I need to format it before so I can use it. I don't remember what I used the term, but there was a time eventually (with an older driver and/or the installation of XP?) when I could operate using a tip of reboot or something. No, however, I get boor. The stick (and its adapter) work very well. I can read it using another USB adapter. (Connected to my dell monitor 24 "... so not exactly a portable solution)

My laptop is the Satellite R20 Tablet and my OS is Vista Business

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • OS = slow download of memory stick update. Why?

I have a Macbook Pro 2010 with two USB 2.0 ports. I have been using a Lexar 16 G memory stick 2.0 to save Word files and number. I recently updated my OS of 10.6 to 10.11. Since the upgrade, the Lexar takes much longer to download and a few times, has not answered the command "Eject Lexar".  I'm curious to know why this is happening.

  • I will be visiting China and want to download movies to watch on the plane of Air China. I would like to download to a memory stick, so I can play the movies via my Kingston 5 in 1 for my Ipad.

I will be visiting China and want to download movies to watch on the plane of Air China. I would like to download to a memory stick, so I can play the movies via my Kingston 5 in 1 for my Ipad.

Chances are that will not work.

First of all, your movies will have DRM on them which prohibit generally just put the files anywhere. And, unfortunately, most of the USB drives do not work plugged into the iPad. Most triggers a warning 'unit wants too much power. and if they don't 'make the files on the disk must be formatted to imitate a card camera to mainly use the photos app to "fool" the iPad by seeing the files. (in a folder called DCIM and with file names exactly 8 characters)

If you are unable to get this to work, you can't watch off the stick (personally if you try I would try a SD card with the card camera adapter). You must import the file on the iPad and then watch it and delete it.

That works for homemade video files, however rented downloaded movies usually have digital rights management on them that ban you placed on a file or reading them.

There are devices like the Kingston WiDrive, which makes a localized wifi hotspot you connect your iPad to then disseminate content from there. However, it takes some experience since you can have the technology part down but may or may not be able to move the files. (I only download content from itunes so I can't say for sure if it works or not)

  • I can move video from Sony DCR-SR42 files to a memory stick?

Please show me how to move a movie from a disk file to a memory stick Sony DCR-SR42 hard. Thank you.

Location Memory Stick of the DCR-SR42 is used to record images and so it is not directly the camcorder can transfer files from the hard drive to a Memory Stick. However, once you have the camcorder connected to your computer, you can then move the files using your computer.

  • How can I move files to memory stick using Vista

Can anyone throw any light on my new problem.

I use Windows Vista Home on my Toshiba Satellite 350 and I'm trying to save a file on memory stick.
I find the right file and click on 'send to removable disk '.

I then get an "Item not found" box that contains the message, "

"Could not find this point, this point is no longer in C:\Users\Desktop.
"I (or any place seeking) check the location of the elements, and then try again.
I checked the site and I have the right pair.

I tried several times with different types of files/places and I get a similar message whenever I try to move the file to anywhere, not only the memory stick

I tried dragging the files to the box and get the same message, copy and paste do not work I still get the same message?

    Anything I'm doing wrong?

    Are you kidding me?
You n t know how copy/move the files on the other machine?

You must mark the file, and then press CTRL + X (shortened for CUP) then go on the memory stick and open it. Press CTRL + V (paste).

  • Re: Error in reading Memory Stick Pro Duo

    Hello
    I have Toshiba A200 - 1 M 4
When I insert the Memory Stick Duo Pro (with the help of the Memory Stick Duo adapter), I get this error message from Windows Vista:
{color: #ff0000} * you must format the disk into G: drive before you can use it.*
    * You want to format? * {color}

I put the same card in an another (NOT of Toshiba laptop) and it could read as well.
And I do not have problems in playback of SD, but just Memory Stick Pro Duo memory cards.
    So what's the problem?
    Please help me
    Thank you

    Hello

I think that it always useful to take a look in the user manual for additional information on the laptop. :)

The said Memory Stick user manual * PRO Duo * and Memory Stick * Duo cards or adapters are not compatible with the Satellite A200 series multiple digital media card slot!

So you will not be able to use this card.
You'll need to switch to a card that is picked up and compatible with the multiple digital media card slot.
