  • Correction of installation Photosmart Wireless with SSID of SigmaplusEOL1 problem

    Hey,.

I have a Photosmart C4780. I have set up for a little wireless printing back and it worked fine. Recently, I had to reset my router for other reasons, which forced me to set up my printer wireless again.  But I can't too. First of all, I used the Setup Assistant that has been installed on the iMac when I previously installed it.  That did not work.  Then, I just uninstalled and tried to reinstall it back. I tried to implement wireless first. When defective, I tried to set up via USB, and then wireless, which still did not work. The problem I meet is during installation in the Setup Wizard, I get 'Select unit.' My printer is connected via USB, and it appears on the list of devices. I click on "Continue" and the following window is an option that says "Set up your device for a wireless network." I check the box and click "continue." The next window is 'Select Network'. And here the problem comes in. A message appears that says "Device not connected", even if it is clearly. I even tried not to connect the printer via USB until it says "Select Device." But I get the same result. Also, when I click 'OK' to the message, window "Select network" not said no "Wi - Fi network discovered."  I can't do anything on this subject. I tried to reset the settings of the printer, and the printer for 15 seconds unpluggin wireless to reset the printer as a whole. Still having the same problem.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Printer: HP Photosmart C4780 computer: iMac late 2009 OS: OS X Lion mountain 10.8.2 router: Netgear WGR614v7

I finally thought to it! (Sorry I'm answering my own posts btw, but I want to put the solution for someone else with the problem of SigmaplusEOL1). If you have the SigmaplusEOL1 as your SSID when you print the "wireless network Test report", you have NO need to come back (I know it's a hassle for people).  To resolve this issue, follow these steps.

    (1) disconnect your printer.

    2) go to your router's IP address (such as 192.168.1.1 or whatever it is for your router).

    (3) replace the SSID of your wireless network with "SigmaplusEOL1".

    (4) for the security option for your wireless network select None (of the sort that a password is not required to access your wireless network).

    (5) Please turn your printer back and reprint "The wireless network Test report". It should say «No problem found...» »

    (6) the report shall also give an IP address of the printer (under Configuration Summary below). Type this address into your browser to go to the printer setup page.

    7) click on the 'Network' tab at the top.

    (8) under the heading "Connections" in the left pane, click "Wireless (802.11).

    9) click on "Start the Assistant" at the bottom right.

    (10) in the wizard, edit (the SSID and encryption wep or wpsk) password that you want your network to be wireless. So probably everything what he started as before you changed the SSID to SigmaplusEOL1

    11) click on 'Finish' at the end. The page will probably try to keep loading but it won't because you have changed the network settings on the printer. Just ignore that

    (12) back to the IP address of your router and change the SSID and the encryption password for everything what you change printer SSID and password.

    (13) reprint of the wireless network Test report. Admittedly, the SSID is the same as your wireless network, and everything is good.

That's all. You should be good to go now.

My thoughs is that the image is corrupt.

The error that you declare, is a fault with the Vista disk image cannot be applied to the hard drive.

Which you used 2 recovery discs of different product, which would indicate that there is not support for product recovery but a defective hard drive, possibly bad sectors on the hard disk.

  • Portege R100 - question about the installation of the USB port and Windows problems

    Hello

I just bought a used Portege R100, but I have some problems. Of course the laptop isn't a CD or DVD, player so I tried an external DVD drive, but it did not work. What kind of device I have to install Windows (not an edition of recovery or anything like that, but a whole new windows on the formatted HARD drive)?

I also have another problem: whenever I plug a USB device (I tried the DVD drive external and a USB keyboard) when I start the laptop, it seems to hang. At least, I am not able to type anything more; the keyboard of the laptop is dead (the point where the entrance would still be flashing in the BACK platform, but typing. sth on the keyboard isn't doing anything). It is not normal, is it?

I also tried to get to the BIOS, but I tried various commands (F1 to F12, DEL etc.), but I couldn't access the BIOS. It would be great if someone could tell me the command for it.

Thanks in advance for the help and sorry for the bad English, I'm not a native speaker :)

I pulled the hard drive a Y550 and put in a new drive. Install XP on CD. Went well.

Tried to update a driver with one of the drivers downloaded from Lenovo.

"Not enough place to expand on C:" it turns out that XP is recognizing the card reader, assigning "C:" and assign the hard drive "E:" I tried reassigning 'C:' disk hard by following the instructions on the web site of Ms. This has messed up the license key and the system does not start. Check the BIOS to disable the card reader, but didn't see any option to do so.

I need XP on this system and the hard drive must be "C:" I guess I could implement a system dual boot, installation of XP on the drive to Win 7, but I'd rather not.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Solved the problem by disabling USB in the BIOS then reinstalling XP. Everything now works even if I had to install the version of Win7 a few things in order to make them work. I can not configure Desktop Navigator (version of Win7, XP version does not) but at least it starts is and that's good enough for now.

    Good FrazerA,

I'm happy that we did the SFC/scannow. The question is are known is the operating system, not the HP software. At this point, my suggestion is to perform a system recovery to Windows Vista. A system recovery will bring the computer to a new similar State, for this purpose, you will need to back up all your personal data and files.

If you want to continue, click on the following link and follow the instructions. > Undertook a restoration of HP (Windows 8) system

After system recovery is complete, use the HP Support Assistant to ensure that the computer is up to date. Support Assistant will check for all updates to Windows and HP. If not already have the Support Assistant installed, click here to download and install it. > HP Support Assistant.

The best course of action at this time would be to install the HP on Vista software to see if it installs now. Of course, a successful installation confirms the theory that the operating system itself is the root cause of the problem at this point.

Post back with the results and product number. With the Compaq product number I can check the specifications, make sure that the BIOS updated and you ensure that we have a smoother installation of Windows 8.

In case anyone else has this problem; I had to turn off my Norton Firewall and it works ~!

    Hi joelash1,

As you have already reduced to Norton firewall causing the problem.

It is possible that an exception should be created in Norton firewall to resolve the problem.

I suggest that first update you the Norton firewall and check if it works.

If that does not solve the problem, then you will need to contact Symantec for more information about adding exceptions in the Norton firewall.

    Hi luv2shop,.

This problem may occur because of the conflict by the present security software on the computer.

  • Suspended at the end of the installation of Vista (pre SP1) - Sata drive problem - how do we install?

Hi, my Dell Studio Hybrid desktop is hang on installation (new installation on a formatted hard drive) from Vista to the installation step ends.  After much research it seems that it is a matter of pre Vista SP1 associated with SATA drive/drivers.  Installation crashes because the computer is looking for a driver on the CD-ROM that is not there.  Anyway I don't see a driver relavent in the cross-section of the hybrid (another computer have drivers under the SATA drives) and if I did I don't know when to add it (load the section of the driver during the installation process?).  Any help on this topic and how to proceed with the installation of vista would be much appreciated since I just lost my weekend to this.

    Hello

You are right that there is no drivers sata on your computer because you don't have that one hard drive go in the bios as described here .and put AHCI to IDE

    Integrated Peripherals

Allows you to enable or disable these integrated devices: HD Audio, Onboard LAN connector, Onboard LAN Boot ROMand side logo. Serial ATA Configuration can be set in IDE or AHCI mode.

then install your version of windows you should have no problem now.

    Good luck
