Installation of new Add-ons

Firefox wasn't loading properly I tried to restart Firefox, then I restarted the computer that neither worked Web pages. Then I reset Firefox, that solved my problems. All transferred on the well but I had to re download all my add on. He had no problems there either. But when I tried to add more search engines to the search bar it gives me this message "sorry, you need a browser based on Mozilla (like Firefox) to install a search plugin.» I copy my old search engines more but I can't add any new.

Make sure that you are not blocking JavaScript.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

  • Do NOT click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.

What can't problems you have before with the loading of web pages?

If this happens again, you can first try some like these basic steps:

Reload Web pages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

  • Hold SHIFT and click reload.
  • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
  • Press 'Command + shift + R' (MAC)

Clear the cache and cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

  • Installation of new add-on doesn't work and causes some add-ons do not want to work more.

When I tried to install an addon, it downloaded and tells me to restart Firefox, which I did. However, when I opened the menu of the addon, addon was not there. In addition, some (and some) addons like Adblock Plus, has stopped working. I tried reinstalling the addon, and she said that she had installed (with no need to reboot). I opened the menu addon again, and the addon was there and said it was activated, but it did not work. When I clicked on the Options button, Firefox froze in a funny way: my mouse wouldn't click anywhere on the window, but I could still scrolling with the wheel, handle tabs with keyboard shortcuts and type in the address bar and other areas. I have rebooted, deleted the addon, rebooted again and finally ABP started working again and everything was back to normal. I tried with several different addons, and it behaved exactly the same way every time. Anyone know what is happening?

    Hello

You can try to delete the extensions.* files in the Firefox profile folder right out of Firefox. To open the profile via Firefox folder: help (Alt + H) > troubleshooting information > view folder.

    Files & Firefox profile folder

It would also be a good idea to install the extension or other extensions via Firefox Tools (Alt + T) > Add-ons, box top-right search, or AMO.

You should also make sure that security software (antivirus, firewall etc.) are not interfering.

  • Force the installation of an add-ons

There are public computers in our personal space. They are both locked by GP. We have them up to auto sign in Auditors invited when you switch on the device. Every time that you start the machine, it resets the local profile empty. So nothing can be saved locally. I modified the pref.js file to clear cookies, history etc when the browser is closed.

In any case, I found an add-on called fox public. (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/public-fox/). It's a pretty cool add-on and it is ideal for our implementation. However, we want public fox must be installed on Firefox all the time. Is it possible to change a (non-local) file that installs the add-on.

You can try to install on the extensions folder shared in the Firefox program folder. On Windows 7 x 64, that would be here:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox\browser\extensions

It is possible that the guest user will receive a prompt to approve, as it is not already in the database of modules; I haven't checked that.

Firefox also checks the registry for external extensions (for example, the kind added by security software). On Windows 7 x 64, I find those here:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Mozilla\Firefox\Extensions

Or the other of these approaches work in your environment?

I tried to find new Add-ons for Thunderbird and Firefox, but the 'load' button appears, then a box that says "what are the Add Ons" and goes into the details. Said that they will appear when it is connected to the internet. I am connected, but nothing appears. I don't want to get rid of Firefox and Thunderbird and start over. After that I updated to 3.6, FF4 to see any of my previous modules.
When you try to install the new, I see no error dialog box or message, just install bar is not going anywhere.

To anyone out there yet with this issue.
The solution that worked for me was to create a new user profile.
Give it a try, if it works you can just move your settings and other things more.

  • Error unexpected installation of Add-ons - Extension Manager CS6

The problem: "an unexpected error occurred while trying to verify this extension."

What I have: CS6 and Design and Web on Mac OS X 10.8.5. with Extension Manager CS6 6.0.8.28 (German)

    What I want: Install ToolkitforCreateJS_1_0_3.zxp and AnimatedSVGExporter_3_46_0.zxp

    What I did:

Although the error, I was able to install the Add-ons in following one of your son:

    -Rename ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE/opm.db a.../opm.db.bak

-After that EM asked me my AdobeID and rebuilt the opm.db and I could install the Add-ons wanted

-Unfortunately my InDesign modules went wrong (had a lot of exclamation in EM on Adobe standard modules)

-I could not (re) activate these marked modules InDesign, InDesign lacked important elements of user interface, etc. and crashed constantly

-the only solution was to reinstall InDesign and update all apps-> pu CS6 (re) activate the modules-> exclamation marks were gone-> InDesign stable again

-J' retried install zxp files, but once again no chance to install with the unexpected error mentioned.

-J' tried to install command line

    -hang on ~ / Library/Caches/TemporaryItems/ZDR004a6e7e.TMP/exman_raw.zip_UNPACK/META-INF/signatures. XML

-Console gives me. CS6 Adobe Extension Manager: WARNING: X 509 obsolete to access the anchors

-is it an X 509 special certificate which must be valid and present in Keychain Access for the installation of modules?

-J' tried to pass the version 1.8.x Java to my original 32-bit version provided by Apple without effect

-J' read on resign from the add-on with ZXPSignCmd (Version 4.x for CS6) but stuck because I couldn't find a way to sign existing zxp file or how to decompile the zxp-file to quit it

-A few years ago I was able to install modules without problems. Today, I'm not able to install any add-on I've tried

All of the recommendations in addition to ask the developer of the add-on or by reinstalling the CS together?

Update: my problem is solved! Him "an unexpected error occurred while trying to verify this extension." gone if you install modules through CS6 Adobe Extension Manager.

How I got rid of the error message:

I had an alias "Adobe Application Manager" in my Applications folder that pointed to Applications/Utilities/Adobe Application Manager/core/Adobe Application Manager.app. The CFBundleVersion string in the info.plist file was 9.0.0.141. I have no idea when or why it was installed on my system. Starting this "Adobe Application by" lead to an update to a newer version 10.0.0.49. Subsequently, an application of bar menu pop up, asking to log in with my Adobe I identification code creative cloud have does NOT connect me, because I have not even a creative cloud subscription, but leave the menu bar app by pressing "quit" in the gear icon. Then I gave another chance, extensions Manager. After selecting an add-on from the Adobe Exchange website to install in the extensions Manager, the "Adobe Application Manager" has popped up, asking me my Adobe Funnily enough identification code, by default has been my second ID (old) Adobe, I replaced my updated Adobe ID and password.

A few seconds later Extension Manager installed the add-on without any error and hassle with my standard modules to InDesign.

As a side effect, I had a new folder "/ Applications/Utilities/Adobe Creative Cloud" with approximately 330 MB of stuff I really don't seem to need. Fortunately, I found an uninstall program in "/ Applications/Utilities/Adobe CreativeCloud/Utils/Uninstaller.app CC" who removed the "useless stuff" with no negative side effects known to feature my CS6 or the Adobe Extension Manager CS6. • 'Open the link in a new tab' does not work. I tried with all disabled add-ons and it still does not work.

When I right-click a link and select 'open in a new tab' and 'opens in a new window', nothing happens. In addition, nothing happens when I type a query in the search bar and press ENTER. I tried to restart firefox in safe mode and disabling all add-ons, but the problems continue.

The setting in "tools > Options > tabs: open new windows in a new tab instead" is for links that specify a target window (for example, target = _blank) to open the link.
This option allows to divert these links into a new tab instead of a new window.
Links that do not specify a target always open in the current tab, unless you redefine that with a middle-click or Ctrl (Mac: Cmd) left click (new tab) or a left click UPDATE (new window) or via the context menu.

You can check if you have the XML files including Google's default search engine in the browser\searchplugins file in the Firefox program folder.

If this isn't the case, then you need to reinstall Firefox.

Try to delete the file search.json and possible search - metadata.json and search.sqlite files in the profile folder of Firefox to reset the default search engines.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

Firefox will rebuild the file search.json from the default search engines in the folder "browser\searchplugins" in the Firefox program folder and the searchplugins folder in the Firefox profile folder.

    NEW TABS.

The New Tabs box was totally unresponsive until I restarted Firefox with all Add-Ons Disabled.

If it works in Mode safe mode and normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) off and then try to find which extension is the cause by allowing an extension at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Add on tool bar appears, but add ons, and new custom toolbar only appears when the Customize window open - toolbar does not name in list of the toolbar?

I used view = > toolbars = > and ticked all the toolbars that I want to appear. BUT add it to the toolbar appears blank (i.e. toolbar but no add ons). AND the new custom toolbar that I created is not yet listed in the toolbars available for check or not. The only way I can get to show upward (but no function) is by clicking the Customize button. The toolbar remains open as long as the window is customize, and I can add/remove/rearrange icons, but not use any of their functions (for example. I added a new button to the custom toolbar window, but when I click of course nothing happens, because another window - window customize - is still open). I need a way to lock the toolbar, so I can access buttons to use it please!
BTW use Windows 8 and just went from IE (and fearing that I'll have to downgrade...)
    TNX so much.

In my opinion, which suggests that what you were actually doing was to customize the toolbar of the addons. Firefox is quite flexible and you can for example put the print icon on the toolbar of the modules or the bookmarks toolbar, and not only on a new designed user a custom toolbar.

Many modules are designed by their developers do not make use of the toolbar of the add-on. Some add-ons appear on other menus. Collusion shows also in the Tools menu. Some use the page modules interface for results or settings.

  • Whenever a new window (or even Firefox windows program such as Add-ons, bookmarks, settings, etc.) is opened, Firefox hangs for 30 seconds before you open it.

I have reset Firefox, then reinstalled, removed all extensions and plugins, uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player, Java updated, etc. I also created new profiles, which have the same problem.

The problem does not appear in Mode safe, which is strange because I have disabled all of the built-in extensions and you run the program in normal mode, and the problem persists. At the moment I don't use any extensions, plugins and none of the themes and Firefox still freezes for a short period of time whenever I try to open a new window.

This problem does not occur in IE or Chrome. I have not installed any programs recently; the problem started happening randomly.

    Hello

Safe mode also disables themes (appearance) in (Alt + T) Tools > Add-ons. and hardware acceleration - the manual setting is in Tools > Options > Advanced > general > use hardware acceleration when available. All these settings/options/additional custom modules can also be individually or collectively disabled/enabled/changed to normal mode of Firefox to see if a theme, or hardware acceleration is causing issues. Deactivation/activation of hardware acceleration and some types of modules in normal mode may require a restart of Firefox - is a fast way to restart Firefox press SHIFT + F2, type reboot and Enter.

  • How can I make Firefox stop loading 9 three old tabs (recognition successful installations of Add-ons) whenever it starts up?

I tried to clear the cache, uninstall Add-ons, then restarting.
I also tried to change the start page in Options/general/start, but the change is not saved. Upgrade to higher versions of Firefox has not remedied the problem. Other suggestions posted on the Web don't work anymore.
The three tabs that come back are: Welcome to the saved password Editor, thank you for the reminder Fox update and thank you for the installation of the coloured tabs. I need the two first modules, so please do not suggest delete them completely.
    Thank you in advance!

  • How to re - install a new firefox 7 (or even return to 6) and keep my settings & Add ons?

Sigh, wish that I had never updated. FF7 was complicated due to the constant crashes and unexpected downturns on many websites (I have a decent computer, intel i5, 8 GB of ram, but I have also 1-2 dozen tabs open most of the time).

I think maybe a new start on firefox (I've been on this 'profile' for several years now) can help. But I don't want to lose all the Add-ons that I put it in (including some of those that I disabled, but would like to keep in any case, because they can be useful in the future).

I can get my bookmarks and firefox via Firefox sync settings, I guess. I have my passwords stored locally using roboform, and I don't care about my story, etc..

So, how to re - install a new copy of firefox 7 (or maybe even back to 6) and get my modules back (a better way than to make a list and installing each one individually) and possibly keep some of the settings of these modules (I know that some of them won't let me export their settings)? Thank you.
