Installation of Qosmio G30 problem
Hello to all the boys
I have a huge problem
I have a Qosmio G30, recently he repeats, or used the disk, format it, confg. RAID, it will restart the formatting begins, ends will restart and the problem here.
Resuming at the end of installation, which occurs not because the video driver crashes (nv4_disp). So, every time I turn on the PC are always half installation.
I ask for help! And while we are to what you enter into the BIOS of Toshiba Qosmio G30.
To be honest, your assignment is a little confusing for me. If I understand you right, you want to install own OS, right?
Are you using the original recovery for the OS installation disc or you try to use the clean version?
I just bought qosmio g30-137 of the Germany. My laptop had a German version of windows and I installed winXP PRO Greek edition. I have a problem with the graphics card driver. I downloaded from the TOSHIBA site. While I do Setup search the driver files that does not exist and I can't complete installation. I would like to know if anyone knows where I can find a driver to complete the procedure or if anyone knows what the problem is and how I resolve?
Also starting from TOSHIBA site some installation instructions that explain how to do the installation with the appropriate sequence. Also, I would like to know where I can find the chipset driver?
Have you installed the Windows from the original CD of Microsoft?
Why you suggest that the graphics driver has a malfunction?
I guess you can not complete the original installation of the Win operating system due to the RAID driver and graphics driver. This unit has been delivered with RAID function and you need to install the RAID driver at the beginning of the installation of the OS.
In addition there is also an instruction and installation utility chipset on the Toshiba driver page.
I Qosmio G30 - 148 who have Windows XP MCE, trying to download some system programs crashed and make automatic restart.
I then used a RECOVERY CD to recover my system all and followed the instructions on the CD but when finished and restart the system, a famous blue screen telling me there is a problem in my system and windows must be restarted.
When restarting in safe mode, it is a message telling me that the system is not fully installed. Please, rerun the Setup program.
You could any body help me in this problem because it's a strange problem?
Note: I tried to install Windows XP from external CD but the system did not have the hard drive.
You are right. It's a really strange problem. I don't know if you use some external devices but before you start recovery procedure please remove all connected devices.
The fact is that this recovery image is designed for this model of laptop and the specific hardware configuration. If the BSOD occurs after the installation of the image it takes little hardware related issue.
I don't really have any other explanation. Problem is that no one here will be able to offer an accurate diagnosis, and we can only speculate what may be the problem.
Try to do it again to the recovery facility, but if the problem persists I fear that you need professional help.
Laptop model: Toshiba Qosmio G30
I formatted for computer laptop and installed Windows XP pro, I did my best installed all drivers and programs. I started to test for laptop, I saw a problem TV tuner. As we know before in the laptop was Windows Media center edition. Here we can easily use TV tuner with mild defect.
My question is that, in WINXP PRO, how can I use the TV tuner? Cable antenna and other issues already resolved. When I'm TV button in notebook no reaction. Please help me to use the TV tuner. In the Drivers CD, I installed all the drivers and programs, but still no response.
Waiting for your feedback!
Wait a moment Ilyas. You bought the laptop really super. The laptop is delivered and preinstalled as portable multimedia. If you use it with preinstalled WMC edition everything will work perfectly. Utilities, tools and drivers Toshiba designed allow you use, all manuals users described, functions. Exactly these tools and utilities are responsible for the harmonic use of all hardware components, additional buttons and preinstalled OS.
Now, there is an absolutely new situation. You have preinstalled your own OS, configured and adapted from the OS to your own needs. Obviously there is no more this harmonic that I wrote in the topic, and now you're wondering why it does not work as before.
Please don t be crazy about me, but I can compare it with the new car. Buy you a new, remove two seats and later wonder why there is no room for 5 people.
Make sure that the TV tuner is correctly pre-installed and you can just use a third party application to watch TV programs. I hope that you will be able to configure correctly.
My computer is a Qosmio G30 and there is this problem of restart or shutdown. I click the icon once and it closed to some programs. I had to click on it again to restart or stop.
How to remedy?
It seems that some application fails to close properly. It is difficult to say that who and why.
Try to uninstall the software that you have installed right before this problem started for the first time. With a bit of luck, you might find the cause. Otherwise, you can do a final solution a recovery facility.
Windows associated problems are really difficult to locate.
I have the Qosmio G30 with HD-DVD player and it should read your HD files without problem. However a friend has registered some HD programs using his freesat box which he carved on a HD for me in the .ts format.
I can read files, but if I try to play in the media library, WMP or Media Player Classic, the sound plays out of sync and sometimes I read stuttering or occasional polyhedral objects.
Can anyone help?
Garrett suggested the Toshiba provides a clean HD player. Have you tried this one?
I can t of PAL video capture using the capture win DVD creator section.
I even tried to change the settings from NTSC to PAL, but he knows nothing.
The G30 supports s-video IN port on the right side for laptop.
You must use an s-video cable to connect the two devices.
After having connected the two devices Win DVR starts to pick up the signal.
If that doesn't work not in your case the problem could be related to in-to-composite S-video adapter.
The screen of my laptop begins to have strange colors and then goes black when I turn on the laptop, G30-148 computer.
My University, IT supports diagnosed the problem as a problem of map chart/subsystem. I contact a provider authorized Toshiba, but unfortunately, they couldn't fix the problem the first time.
The second time it has been resolved temporarily as it occurs in less than a month and now I am unable to use my laptop :-( I hesitate to return my laptop to the authorized supplier. Any solution?
I don't know how he solved the second time, but according to the description of your problem, there is certainly a bad operation of the equipment and for me the only solution is to repair and motherboard changes. Sorry, but I think you should contact ASP again.
Hi - I hope someone can help.
My G30 developed problems started upward. When I turn on I hear 'height' and the player turns on but the screen remains black.
I tried to leave it for 10 minutes, but still nothing happens. If I hold 'FN' and press f5, it burst into life and I can scroll through the different options in the form and it works fine. I'm not too technically good so be gentle with me if you have any suggestions.
I only found the F5 because I thought it was a screen problem so I plugged a screen separated to try to get access to readers.
All thought - anyone?

just a question: do you have a picture on your screen? I have couldn t in your ad figure out whether or not.
You can try to remove memorymodules if possible, to test if the number of it s a memory. (It s often the problem that a module is defective and the reason for the absence of start-up)
Otherwise you will need to bring your beautiful Clipboard ;) a partner to local service for verification of material.
Would appreciate feedback from your diagnosis courses :)
* Qosmio G30-154 * (* PQG31 *).
Demo of the Qosmio has 2 hard drives with XP MCE (32 bit) installed on the primary.
The RAID parameters are JBOD.
BIOS is "newer" 3.90
I would try to upgrade the drives (without installing any OS) and... have a problem!
BSOD "Stop 0x0000007B" after 'clone with resizing' for the main HARD disk.
I read on [drivers Toshiba RAID | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=48489] also [how to integrate the AHCI driver when installing Windows XP | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9401AN0000R01.htm] and (or)
[SATA and AHCI Intel Matrix Storage Management Software: "the installation program found no hard disk units installed in your computer" Error Message during Manual Installations | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB7B020R0000R01.htm], but I don't want to install OS, I want to keep intact my OS work.
F6 (for all usb drivers) is not available to boot OS, sorry.
"cloned" drive is in line with the correct name of made in the BIOS. "Cloned" secondary drive works (with old primary school). How to get access to the new primary OS and loading cloned? Please, any ideas?
I think that the system cannot boot to the new HARD disk as the partition where the system is installed, was not marked as bootable system partition.
I recommend to insert the previous HARD drive and to start the laptop.
HARD drive new, cloned could be connected as an external HARD drive to a USB port.
Then you should go to disk management (right click my computer - manage-> management-> disk management computer)
Here you can see the HARD internal disk and the 2nd HARD drive connected to the USB port
Right-click on the partition (2nd HARD drive) where the Win XP has been installed and choose the partition as the system partition and mark it as active.
Then you could change the HARD drive again and could power the device in place. Usually, the system should boot to the top of the new marked system partition.
I recently installed Windows 7 on my Qosmio G30 (w / HD-DVD). Having noticed that some people have had problems with it, I decided to post my procedure.
My Qosmio has 2 hard drives with XP MCE installed on the primary. The RAID settings are 1RAID0 and JBOD. I decided to install Windows 7 on the second disc of HARD to dual boot with XP.
1. upgrade the BIOS to 3.90
2 put the Toshiba RAID for Vista (version 1.10.0016) drivers on a USB key.
3. use the Win7 DVD to portable computer startup in the installation program, it's better than the installer of in Windows XP/Vista.
4 load the RAID during the installation drivers to use hard drives (click on "Load driver").
5. install Win7.
6 install Windows Update and let it download the necessary drivers.
You may need to manually install the drivers for Bluetooth and video Capture card.
The upgrade process went smooth every thing takes less than 2 hours.
Note that the Windows 7 installer does not recursively for the RAID drivers search, you must select the folder holding the KR10N. INF file in the location of the RAID driver.
Hope this helps someone.
Thank you for this very interesting and nice post! :)
I don t Qosmio G30 but I think it could be very useful for other users here. I love reading such display.
I installed Windows 7 on my Qosmio F50 and I m satisfied also again Windows 7. You too?
I just bought a Toshiba Qosmio G30-140 of second hand. It has 2 hard drives and I tried to install windows 7 with great difficulty due to the raid driver... I managed to cmplete installation and travels account that half the utilities would not work in compatibility mode... Solution, I decided to re install the original Windows XP Media Center Edition, as I didn't have the original disks, I had many days of trial and error downloading different versions to work on my system... FINALLY, I GOT THE RIGHT ONE...
Here's my question:
I want to set up my machine to use the 2 drives in RAID mirror in case of data corruption, although I tried to install the RAID utility using the restore disc, I had created before embarking on this mission - suicidal
IT WILL NOT BE INSTALLED, AND CONTINUES TO GIVE ME THE SAME ERROR OVER AND OVER AGAIN, EVEN IF I AM LOGGED ON ADMINISTRATOR
error message is "("TOSHIBA RAID Service"Service [kraidsvc] could start. Make sure that sufficient privelages to start the services.) »
I'm stuck and tried a lot of combinations, different and re-installed the OS twice, I am an administrator and possess these privelages. HELP :((
Installing the RAID driver could solve this problem...
Also, I guess you used the right RAID settings in the BIOS.
As far as I know, you can change the RAID option in the BIOS on the last page (3-3)
RAID0 means stripping and RAID1 mirror you want to use.
After changing the RAID parameters, you must confirm this insert the string 1,2,3,4 and enter.
But note; After changing this you will need new OS install
It is a double issue.
I have a Toshiba Qosmio G30-163 under MCE XP SP3. I am re-install the drivers after a corrupted registry problem.
The laptop has Bluetooth hardware installed. I downloaded the latest Toshiba BT Stack s/w for XP and I'm trying to install it. I have so far. Installation takes over at the helm of the 99%. Then another window opens "Install Bluetooth Drivers". It has a blue progress bar. It stops at 5 bars = 10% full. It hangs there - although there is considerable activity on the main hard drive. Finally, I cancel the installation. The main installation window responds with Installation. But the BT service is not running.
I raised a ticket with Sitecom, but the response has been to remove all the drivers because the dongle is just plug and play. This is false. The unit will not work without the drivers!
I am also installing a dongle Sitecom CN 516 Bluetooth on my Acer Aspire One 532 h running Win 7 Starter. I try to install the latest Toshiba BT Stack s/w for Win 7 (32 bit). Yet once that seems to happen at about 99% completion. Then another window opens "Install Bluetooth Drivers". It has a blue progress bar. It also stops at 5 bars = 10% full. It hangs there - although there is still considerable activity on the main hard drive. A popup window opens then 'Insert Bluetooth Device', I have in fact already done. I click OK. Five minutes later the same popup window appears asking once again the BT device to be plugged. I click OK. It is repeatable. Finally, I cancel the installation. The main installation window responds with Installation. But the device does not work.
What goes wrong if it pleases you, and how do I me BT to work in both scenarios? Thank you very much.
The laptop is already equipped with an internal BT module.
But the BT module must be enabled in order to complete the installation procedure.
Please use the key combination Fn + F8 to active the BT, then check if the bar progresses.
I got my Qosmio G30-161 for half a year and he had thought should be time to reinstall everything, so I could get rid of things I didn't need (programs, viruses and uninteresting video clips).
So I took my XP MCE Cd and tried to install, and I am guided me through and come to the place where I had to choose between unknown 1st and 2nd 3rd stripping mirrored. I chose the stripping as I wanted my drives to be in one. Then when I pressed "next" it gave me the error message "1005 - HDD is not ready?
I tried to go into the BIOS and change the setting of different parameters of Toshiba told me to, but he also warned that if I changed my OS settings will need to be reinstalled. No problem. But I still get the same message error "disk is not ready?". So now, I have to use a computer other than mine to check the forums and mail etc.
Anyone know what I need to do? I'll be happy with anything as long as I can have both my hard drives (60 + 60 GB) and OS work. :)
Please help, I would urge for her, because the computer is the one I use for my school work. Feel free to ask questions about the tricks of the system. If you have an answer, please let it be simple, because I really don't want to mess up again ^_^
Please check the details relating to the installation of RAID user's Guide.
Usually if you use the clean Windows XP disk then you need to include the RAID drivers first.
Without pre-installed RAID drivers HARD drive will not be recognized and you will not be able to install the OS!
I have a Qosmio G30-161. You need ports 4xUSB2.
Whenever I connect a USB2 device I get a pop up message saying he would run faster in a USB2 port.
This happens with all devices in all ports.
I checked my device manager, which shows the 5 host controller and Hub 4 x USB root.

Intel (r) 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB Universal Host Controller - 27 9

I tried to manually edit the other host of the Enhanced controller - 27CC.
All I get is an error that the device cannot start.
Any help to solve this problem would be much appreciated...
Something like that shouldn't happen, especially if your laptop has the factory settings. One of my friends has the same laptop and it works like a rocket. No problem at all. It does not mater what external device is connected to one of the USB ports, device will be recognized correctly and the data transfer is very good.
In your case, it will be interesting to know if your laptop has factory settings (preinstalled with recovery media) or your own installation of the OS. Maybe this info can help us understand what is happening exactly.
