Installation of recovery image on Satellite L500D

Am trying to re - install windows 7 on Satellite L500D. I'm having all kinds of problems with the computer because it has been infected by malware or viruses, don't know that. I have already backed up all my documents, photos and files pst on an external hard drive.

I press '0' when the power and then got the following options.

First option is 32 or 64 bits,
I chose 32 that the vehicle has currently 32-bit installed.
Warns next option, I selected Yes.
Next option is factory default software recovery (Recover State out-of-the-box). or erase the hard drive, I chose the default settings restoring.
Then there's 3 options,
1 recovery of out-of-the-box-state (System Recovery Options include).
2. recovery without changing hard drive partitions, or
3. recover to custom size partition. I thought I chose Option 1, but it shows all partitions will be deleted and you will lose all data on the hard drive.

This means that I will delete the windows installs partition?
Choose option 2?
Option 2 says "the first partition is deleted and you will lose all data on the partition. I am thinking 2 option?

On a separate issue, I could install the 64 bit version of Windows, if so it would be an advantage?

Hello

Detailed explanations on the recovery image installation, you can find on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm

Please check it and I hope you find al the info you need there. I always use Recovery option out-of-box state > system recovery options are included.

Your system is infected of course and you have to complete resettlement in order to not make this so complicated. Back up all your data and install recovery image using option 1. No matter what will be removed and what not. Drive HARD integer should be cleaned.

I recommend you to use the version of 64-bit operating system.
Very nice article about 32 and 64 bit versions OS, you can find here.

    Hello

If you check on page 122 s manuals you will find all the info and detailed explanation of the image recovery and recovery image installation.

It is strongly recommended to create recovery media (recovery backup image) which can be used for the installation of the OS in the case that there is a problem with the installation of HARD drive recovery or HARD drive malfunction.

I presume you didn't create such a support, right? Can you please try to create with the help of preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator tool? The same error message appears again?

  • Cannot install recovery image on Satellite C660

    Hello
I tried to restore a Satellite C660 factory settings because it be extremely slow to start.

Using the original Toshiba recovery disks the process gets to half way through and then gives the following messages...

    Error restoring image
    The device is not ready

ERROR: ImageX could not be Win7 V:\HDDRecovery\SWImg\15489XSP.swm Index 2 HARD C: drive!

    If someone can advise?
    Thank you

Unfortunately there is no workaround to force the recovery image installation runs correctly.
All you can do right now is to set the BIOS to default settings and use the drive recovery again.
Make sure that the disc is clean.

Do you use the recovery disc for the first time?

  • How can I access the recovery on my Satellite L500D-00F partition?

Hi, I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L500D-00F delivered with Windows 7 Home Premium and my OS is not working properly so I need to boot from the recovery partition, but I can't find a way to do...

    =============
    FULL ARTICLE: P
    =============

The first startup launched the hidden restore partition and I followed the procedure to install the OS of the computer.

At one point he asked me if I wanted to 32-bit or the 64 bit version of Windows 7, so I choose the default option (32 bit) because I couldn't find anywhere in the specifications of L500D of the merchant that is was a 64-bit processor.

After the installation of the computer, it started Windows 7 properly and I could hear the startup sound, see my office for a second and the screen went black, nothing worked at all and I discovered that my computer was actually a unit of 64-bit, so that is probably why the video driver does not work properly, I guess. Whenever I start my laptop, I see my desktop for a second then it goes black and crashes like this.

    ====================
    END OF THE STORY: P
    ====================

In any case... I want to restart this recovery partition and reinstall my operating system using the 64-bit version.

How can I boot from the recovery partition on my L500D-00F... AND PLEASE don't tell me to hit F8 during the startup, I already tried this and NO I don't have a "Repair" option The first is 'Safe mode' and there is no option 'Fix' or 'retrieve '.

Also, in Windows Disk Manager (that I can use in some way when I boot in safe mode) I see two hidden partitions, a 10 GB and a 1.5 GB, so I KNOW they are there, I did not delete them and they should be intact.

Any help is appreciated, but don't tell me to hit F8 when starting, this has already been tried: P

    Thanks for the comments.
On this forum, that we have already talked about this and of course access to the data recovery is not the same for all models of laptop. F8 method is for example for models Europeans and several people from the Australia or even Canada reported on the use of the 0 button.

In any case, I'm happy to know that everything is going well.

    Good bye

  • Cannot install recovery image on satellite Pro P300-1EX

    Hello.

I have never had many problems with a single laptop in my lifetime of work. I'm almost ready to throw this thing out the window. I have a satellite pro p300-1EX.

I wanted to do an install new os just to make things a bit faster for the customer, it was 8 hours ago.

First, I installed a Home Windows OEM pre 32B version. Then I saw that the CD would not work.

So, Okay - I'll bring back factory default:

    (1) there is no link repair starting and pressing F8
    (2) there is no HARD drive untilty when you press 0 - that does nothing
    (3) there is no recovery console, by putting in an OEM version of windows vista
    (4) I try to download recovery disk creator bloody software and get this - it does not work. It creates a shortcut to a file that's not here yet. TRDCLcher.exe, can you, im speechless.

So now, I have to spend £30 of my own money by obtaining a disc sent to me? I don't think so.

So, what can I please? It was a horrible experience. Nothing works. The recovery partition, I see is still in tact, it's just like the laptop doesn't recognize it. Instealing the OEM deleted all tools by default, but I can't NOT THE DOWNLOAD.

    Please, please help me.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Maybe it sounds stupid now, but this is simply.

Here's my explanation of how it works:
Almost 4 or 5 years Toshiba offers laptops without recovery DVD but with recovery image stored on the HARD drive. As much I know about former Satellite/Satellite Pro P300 recovery image was recorded on the second partition of HARD drive in the folder named HDDRecvery. This model laptop was shipped with Windows Vista.

As you know original recovery image can be installed n in two ways:
-You can use the recovery HARD drive installation method - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm
-You can use the created recovery DVD disk

HARD drive recovery facility can be made if the laptop has only factory settings. In this case in advanced startup options (F8), you will have the option to fix my computer. If the notebk has been installed with the version of the OS or any other operating system of this option won't be available more. Because of this Toshiba has preinstalled reminder with the message for owners of laptops create recovery DVDs.

    Your questions:
    > There is no link repair starting and pressing F8
If this laptop doesn t have to factory settings it will not appear in the advanced startup options
    > There is no HARD drive untilty when you press 0 - that does nothing
If you have European book this model with zero will not work. It only works with the United States and Austraian mobile.
    > There is no recovery console, by putting in an OEM version of windows vista
I put t understand it. What happens when you start with the OEM version?
    > I am trying to download bloody recovery disc creator software
If you have the European model of laptop, it can not be downloaded. This piece of software is included in the recovery image only.

    > So now I have to spend £30 of my own money by obtaining a disc sent to me
I understand, but at least with the original recovery DVD you can install OS and all necessary things in an hour only.
    > The recovery partition, I see is still in tact, it's just like the laptop doesn't recognize it.
Yes. Without factory settings you will not have access to these data.

    Follow these steps:
-start your laptop and press F2 to enter the BIOS settings
-set the BIOS to default settings and reboot the laptop
-When the laptop reboots press F12 to get into the boot meny
-When the boot menu appears on the screen put the original DVD of recovery in ODD
-Choose the CD/DVD drive on the list and press ENTER
This will force it's STRANGE to be the first boot device and you should see process on the loading screen. Click next or OK nothing change and wait for the recovery procedure starts.

Please try it and let me know exactly what is happening.

  • Cannot start the installation of recovery on my Satellite A200 - 28 p

I'm trying to restore my PC laptop Toshiba Satellite A200 - 28 p (Windows Vista Home Edition) by using the recovery disk of the product supplied with the laptop, no matter what I try to do, I can not run, the only thing that it will allow me to do is to restore the laptop to an earlier date. I have full admin rights on the laptop, there is no virus or other malware on it, all this seems to have happened because he updated with windows vista, about two days ago have uninstalled the updates, but that has no effect.

I can't find anywhere on the laptop recovery console, but I know it was there before. I tried a lot of solutions available on the web, but none of them work. I used the recovery disc about 2 1/2 years when the laptop crashed and it worked fine then.

    Any help apprecited

I don't remember how it was with A200.
You only have a recovery DVD or you could also launch the installation of recovery of HARD drive using F8 at startup (advanced startup options > fix my computer)?

In any case, the description of your problem confuses me.
If you are using the recovery as boot drive DVD there is no console repair or some options.
Installation of recovery on startup, you can only see menu where you have to click on next.

  • How to install the recovery image on Satellite Pro A300?

I have a Satellite Pro A300 and I need factory reset. I learned from my teacher of computers there is a unknown virus on this subject. Apparently, it has been downloaded when I downloaded Malware bites. I got the laptop free of Set - BC because I muscle Handi-trophy and get tired of writing.

My teacher told me that I need to Factory Reset, but when I got the laptop, she had everything installed on, (kurzwell, Chrome, etc.) so I don't have the disc to factory reset. In addition, the virus has disabled everything that has anything to do with the internet, (Chrome, for example, Firefox, Outlook, malware bites, etc.).

Y at - it all means I have factory reset the laptop without the need of the disc.

    Hello Steve

Portable, delivered without reinstall drive have recorded on the HARD drive recovery image and if you're still using an original preinstalled operating system you can try to install this recovery image according to the recovery procedure. How to this is described in the document s user manuals or you can do this following statement described on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

    It works for you?

  • How to install the recovery image on Satellite A200?

Hi all, I would like to do a restore to factory for my Satellite A200
I checked their hard drive and confirmed that the recovery partition is still there

When I want 0 and turn on the laptop, rather than the beep and the warning screen, need me only to windows Boot Manager page
So I pressed F8 and choose repair computer, I read that I can also start the recovery process by choosing toshiba Recovery Wizard
But when I press the Recovery Wizard, the cdrom eject and tells me to put in the recovery CD (which I did not)

What bothers me is I checked the recovery partition is there but I can't find a way to start the process
Someone knows the solution? Or there is another button to press when you start the machine?

    Thank you very much!

In your case the drive HARD recovery isn't possible
So in this case only the Toshiba recovery disc can bring notebook to factory condition.

You have not created the recovery disc in the past well. Given that the recovery partitions seems to be available on the HARD disk, you can try this workaround

    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD4103KB0000R01.htm

It should be possible to create a USB flash memory key or a disc using image files which are available on the bootable recovery partition.

In the worst case if this procedure is not possible, you need to install the clean Microsoft Windows operating system. Essential drivers may be downloaded from the driver page.

  • Cannot install recovery image on Satellite C650D

    Hello

I have a C650D who fell just out of warranty and died on me. I did the recovery discs to purchase then thought that it would be a simple matter to use and I would be able to use the laptop again... seems I was mistaken :(

I tried the F8 key at startup to option and all I get is the following message is displayed:
No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key.

I inserted the recovery disk and after an amount of noise from the hard drive and windows message takes over the files then I got a box asking me to choose the language I wanted, followed by an error message that there is something missing... I don't have the time to write down full seizure quit on me. After trying to load (incase there was something wrong with the first attempt) get the windows loading page then nothing...

Can someone tell me what I need to do to fix this please?

    Thanks in advance

    > No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key.
I fear this message has something to do with Mr. HARD disk HARD drive is recognized correctly in the BIOS settings?

If so, the value please BIOS to the default settings and use recovery DVD again.

By the way: you can see the language option, but you can not choose another language than the original language, you got with your laptop. In other words if you have BONES of the Spain, you can't choose another language. You have only BONE on the Spain.

  • Need help in order for recovery of my Satellite L450 - 16Q

My laptop had a virus so I used the product recovery disc that came with it, thinking that he'll fix it but he eventually forgave all of my computer even windows 7.

So now that I have a computer that I can't use it, I bought windows 7 directly from microsoft that I downloaded and tried to install it but it does not work.
I also bought the product of disks in the backup media on toshiba site recovery in the hope that they will work.

Can anyone help/advise on what I should do.

    Thank you
    Sharron

    Hello

The whole story is a bit confusing for me. So lets see what you wrote:
    >... thinking that he'll fix it but he eventually forgave all of my computer even windows 7.
The thought does not. What you need is accurate information about the installation of recovery and that are in the user s manuals document recovery disk is not like Microsoft installation disk and cannot be used for the repair. Recovery disk contains the recovery image and can be used for any new installation OS (recovery image installation) only.
    > So now I have a computer that I can not use
Why you can not use? Recovery image installation installs new OS. What operating system is installed after the execution of installation recovery image?
    > I also bought the backup from toshiba support site product recovery disks
But why, if you already have recovery disk you used at the beginning of this whole thing?

What you need to do is to use the original disc for installing the OS.
-Start your laptop and press F12 repeatedly to enter the BOOT menu
-When the menu put the recovery in ODD disk
-Select the CD/DVD drive in the menu and press ENTER
    -Follow the on-screen menu

After installation of recovery image you will have factory again and everything should be OK.
    Any other questions?

  • Satellite C670D-109 - installation of recovery after replacing HARD drive image

    Hello

I have a problem to restore my laptop.
My hard drive is not working, I do not have the recovery disks, but I managed to save the HDD Recovery folder in a partition of DATA.

Once installed the new hard drive, it is possible to recover my original without the cd, but with a pen drive usb installation?

    > Once installed the new hard drive, it is possible to recover my original without the cd, but with a pen drive usb installation?
Unfortunately, you will not be able to start the recovery image installation. The data saved on unusable USB on this path. It must be the startup created by Toshiba recovery disc creator device
You can only install recovery image using the recovery disk.

If you n t have it you can order a new one.

  • Satellite L500D: 64 bit Win recovery disk is 32-bit - can I restore 64-bit?

    Hi all

    I have a Satellite L500D, which has Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit.
I have the recovery CD is 32-bit, however, and I need to reinstall Windows.

I'm assuming that this drive can install the 32-bit version and does not give you the option - if after installation, is there always a partition on the HARD drive for the 64 bit version?

If possible, I want to continue to use the 64-bit edition.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Did you create this disc using the Toshiba Recovery Media creator?

If so, then the pre-installed Win 64 bit should be part of the image that you created using this software.

Generally, when booting, you should get the option where you could choose between 63 bits and 32 bits of the system.

  • Installation of recovery on Satellite C50-A-1Jn

My son has a Satellite C50-A-1john and was doing a restore of the partition of drive hard, but stopped at halfway.

When it tries to start, it receives the message "no boot device - please reboot."

He did not create a floppy disk to restore his laptop, but I found where I can order one from Toshiba. Before I spend £30, I want to know if it will restore his laptop.

Recovery image installation can not be interrupted. Now, the laptop is confused and unbootable. Problem is that interrupted recovery installation cannot continue, cannot be started from the beginning and also not ended correctly.

What you need to do now is to get the installation of recovery disc and start the installation again.

After doing this you will have factory again and everything works OK.
Biggest mistake has been that media recovery is not created in the past.

  • How to start the installation of recovery on Satellite A200?

    I hope someone can help.

My laptop wouldn't start this morning, so I hit CTRL-ALT-DEL to restart, I got the splash screen telling me to press F2 or F12, let it go and stopped the laptop to a black screen with a cursor blinking in the upper left.
I had done a backup two days earlier, so decided it was time to do a factory restore and clean the disc.
I stopped, then pushed the value 0 (zero) key and exploited the power button, according to the instructions. When it beeps, I release the button and it now says:
Playing a disc error has occurred
Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart

    And inside is:

    HARD DRIVE RECOVERY MODE *.

I received this Satellite A200 PSAF0A - 04 X 019 a family member, who does not create recovery discs when you set up the laptop.

I can do this is to access the recovery partition, then run a file manually, or is its beyond repair?

    See you soon

If you can not start installation of recovery of HARD drive on a regular basis there is no other way to access the recovery image.
To be honest I n don't know what means exactly this error. I put t know if there is a problem with the image of a HARD drive or recovery.

What you can do now is to install own OS and then download all the drivers, tools and utilities alone or try to contact Toshiba service provider and ask if they can order a DVD of recovery for you.
