  Does anyone know if there are command line options to install Skype for business in silence? I downloaded SkypeSetupFull.exe - no file msi in sight! - and want to ride through all of our users with a silent update so that they have maximum benefits and minimum noise. I don't want to use Skype Manager. What if all I'll use Tanium which is a centralized management software that we use. Any help would be appreciated!

  I'm trying to install my second OS (ubuntu 12.04 LTS x 64), installed on the dual boot with grub on another partition of my Win 7 Pro x 64 boot disk.

  Linux partition are not mapped in the windows and the installation is as follows:

  1-0 (HPSF/NTFS) partition: 100 MB win 7 partition

  2. 1 (HPSF/NTFS) partition: c: boot Win 7 pro x 64 (133,24 GB) partition

  3 2 (Linux) partition: / partition Ubuntu 12.04 LTS x 64 (37,25 GB)

  4. 3 (Linux swap) partition: SWAP of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS x 64 (3.72 Gb)

  5. 4 (Linux) partition: / home partition Ubuntu 12.04 x 64 (105,14 GB)

  This drive in SATA connected drive (WDC WD3000HLFS - 01G6U1 ATA Device, (Channel 0, Target 1, Lun 0)).

  When you configure the virtual machine, I set the Partition 2 to be used with this machine.

  I checked the folloing points:

  • Intel processor supports x 64 (i5 750 @ 2.67 GHz, 4 cores)
  • VT turned on in the BIOS

  When you run the virtualized Ubuntu I am getting following error message:

  What I am doing wrong?

  I would setup just the Ubuntu VM in a regular vmdk ANDS store it on any of your other 3 discs

  I was able to get a fix to work for 8.02 on my installation of Ubuntu update.  VMWare offered an update and the new update, 8.03, notinstall.  I have the same breakpoint in this version, which I fixed with this patch. http://communities.vmware.com/servlet/JiveServlet/download/2025997-86343/vmware802fixlinux320.tar.gz patch found in this thread: http://communities.vmware.com/message/2030083#2030083 is another update patch?  the problem in the module vmnet appars.

  I fixed mine by modifying the script patch (patch - modules_3.2.0.sh)

  From:

  fpatch = vmware3.2.0.patch
  vmreqver = the version 8.0.2
  plreqver = 4.0.2

  TO:

  fpatch = vmware3.2.0.patch
  vmreqver = 8.0.3
  plreqver = 4.0.2

  and remove the old flag of patch:

  sudo rm /usr/lib/vmware/modules/source/.patched

  Then run the patch as usual:

  sudo./patch-modules_3.2.0.sh vmware3.2.0.patch

  -Remove Uc.DLL and copied on a system that works. Re-registered the DLL.

  -Repair and reinstall have both been done.

  -Windows is up to date

  -Ran sfc/scannow - produced CBS.log (attached)

  The community Skype is for the consumer to Skype instead of Skype for business version, which is a different program. It is for this reason that we recommend to contact Skype for support to the company or, where appropriate, support to Office 365.

  You must update your version of Skype. You can use the version 4.3 or newer.

  Yes. You can install the desktop version. The currently most recent Skype 6.14.0.104 desktop version can be installed using the msi installer:

  Ubuntu would need a new version of Skype for Linux 4.1. At least I think.

  Since qtwebkit in Ubuntu has been improved from 2.2 to 2.3, the Skype binary segfaults at startup for most users. There may be a problem with qtwebkit - 2.3, but some think that it is rather necessary to rebuild of Skype for Linux with the latest version of qtwebkit.

  A workaround is about to be downloaded to the archive Ubuntu 13.04, but a more appropriate solution would be obviously desirable. (Bug Ubuntu related)

  Think that this problem has been resolved through Skype for Linux 4.2.

  I can't get Skype downloaded on my laptop. If I open my apps that I have an option to 'Get Skype'. If I select it I get "this product is installed" so I click Open, and then I get a down; screen Skype ADO.  I can get like running the Skype set up the exe and it seems that it works but the installation is not complete and so I have to complete the task.   I'm not sure who gave the answer could understand what I wrote! I know what caused the problem, install 'SKYPE '!   I tried to install Skype today and McAffee blocked it saying it the installation file has a virus.  Think this detection was a mistake by McAfee and since I downloaded the program directly from the site of Syke I turned it off.  I removed Skype folders and clean all temporary files of Windows and my user profile.  Also, I cleaned up all other temporary files using Cleanmgr.  After that, I was able to restart the installation of Skype.  It was not long to get a lot of pop strange messages.  I immediately right click on the taskbar to access the Task Manager and stop installation.  To my surprise, the task manager has been disabled.  Who confirmed that I had just been infected by a virus.  So I pressed the power button to turn off the computer.  I have restared in safe mode and run the utility to restore the system (rstui.exe).  After I restored the computer to a previous point all was back to normal.

  It seems that someone has hacked into the site and replaced the installer with an infected.
