• Smart View 1935 Setup error

  Did someone got an error 1935 when installing smart views? My helpdesk told me I need a registry exception, but I have to tell them what it is and where to put.

• Unable to access the Smart View 11.1.2.5.216 in Outlook 2007

  All,

  I uninstalled Smart View 11.1.1.3.x of my MS Windows 7 (x 32) Professional SP1 machine and installed Smart View 11.1.2.5.216 during the same session (that is to say, without having to reboot).

  While SmartView arrives perfectly fine when I access Excel, Word and PowerPoint and I can connect to the 11.1.2.3.00 EMP data sources, I don't see the Ribbon of Smart View under MS Outlook. This is in spite of:

  -After changing my MS Office 2007 installation to run Visual Basic Scripting Support on my PC for MS Outlook 2007 only (i.e., via Control Panel > programs and features > MS Office Standard 2007 > change > add or remove components);

  -remove the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Hyperion Solutions and that underlie the subkeys, after uninstalling 11.1.1.3 and before installing 11.1.2.5.216

  There is no disabled COM add-ins displayed in MS Outlook 2007 and there is no other entries related to Hyperion (IE, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\Hyperion.CommonAddin) to amend\delete under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\AddIns. Also, I searched but could not find the Smart View PST file on my machine.

  Has anyone any suggestions as to where else I could be looking or what else I could do to activate the smart display in MS Outlook 2007?

• Install the Smart View for 32 and 64 bit machines

  We have Smart View installed in different folders based on 32- bit (C: \Program Files\SmartView) vs 64-bit C: \Program Files (x 86)-SmartView, by the standards of our society.  We have a part of the road, and users to share workbooks.  Inside of the worksheets are functions.  The problem is that if a person saves the workbook on 32-bit for the 64-bit person, it does not, and vice versa, different paths for the.  Has anyone met her before and if so, how you have solved the problem?

  We solved this by creating a work around.  We have developed an installer in silent mode SV which is C:\Program Files (x 86) \SmartView hard coded in the path.  If the C:\Program Files (x 86) does not exist, the program creates it, and then runs the installation.

• Error when using Smart View install link in the workspace

  Hi all

  We recently definitely use Smart View 11.1.2.5 instead of 11.1.2.1.

  So role the file to our users, we must update the link in the workspace.  I did it, copy the new .exe and file version.xml to our server that hosts the workspace, in the path of file Oracle/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1/common/epmstatic/wspace/SmartView.  I then removed the old files.  Now when I connect to HFM and go to the link, after a period of a few minutes, I get the error "Cannot find a version of the runtime to run this application."

  I tried to restart all of the services, a dead-end.

  No one knows what to do to fix this error?

  This is a known defect in Smart View 11.1.2.5.  HFM Workspace do not recognize as valid an installation link.

  You probably have another Office application running - remember, Office is not just Excel and Smart View works with those of other applications also - and / or open invisibly.  If you open the Task Manager and look at the process, you can see an instance of EXCEL. EXE (for example) even if Excel is not visible as an application on your desktop.

• Disable Smart View forced for connections of HFM update

  Our users are trying to validate data in a new application development and, where it connects to this application, a message to Smart View that a new version is available. Is there a way to disable this message? Our development and production environments are both on the same version of HFM.
  
  I saw some options related to the service provider in the help documentation, but when I followed the steps listed in the documentation, the option to access the provider's services is not available for connections of HFM.

  This pushed me in the right direction to solve our problem. Taking the Smartview EXE installer and the version.xml file and the copy of Production development, I was able to stop the popup to appear.

  For others who find this thread, in 11.1.2.1 at least, these files are located in \Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\common\epmstatic\wspace\SmartView

• Smart View and precision

  Hello, I have a question.
  
  Is it possible therefore mart would open with precision settings are installed in settings?
  For example, if I have the prΘconfiguration precision as '3' is it possible to open from smartview with these settings?
  
  Or the only way to precision of installation in SmartView is smartview settings configuration and these would be global for any is open?

  You seem to be hitting a known problem: Bug 12941210: SMART VIEW IS NOT TAKE THE SAME DECIMAL PRECISION that the VALUE IN THE PLANNING

• Unable to get the list of Essbase servers in the office with Smart View 11.1.2.1

  Anyone tried connection shared in Smart View 11.1.2.1? I am able to connect to, but it doesn't show all the servers in the non editable drop-down list. I tried with Office 2003 sp3, Office 2007 and office 2010, but none of them works. Also, I tried to find the datasourse.xml file in LWS - aps in the console of shared services, but is not there. I tried the solution given on that link also, but the datasourse.xml file is not in place.

  I connect to Essbase through the URL http:// < server >: 19000/workspace/SmartViewProviders. It shows the login window and allow me to get gold, but the drop-down list is empty. No server listed.
  Let me know what I'm missing.

  I found the problem and solved it...

  Cause:
  SmartView is unable to save properly with all other components.

  Solution:
  After the installation of a SmartView, run the Configuration utility and select Foundation-> Web Configuration record properly with all other components.

• Smart View HVE?

  What is smart view HVE? When you download smartview for 11.1.2 of delivery, he gives us 2 applications, Smartview and SmartviewHVE.

  HVE is Explorer Visual Hyperion. It is a third party tool which is licensed separately from the stack of Hyperion (you have to buy to use it).

  I've installed Smart view using tools-> installation-> Smartview to workspace. After which opened Excel, click sharing of connections and changed the url to the < servername > correct: 19000/area of work/SmartViewProviders.
  
  After that, I am prompted to log in with my user id and password. Apparently I can connect without any problems.
  
  My question is what now? My shared and private connections pane has a menu drop-down with 'select the server to go ahead', but nothing is listed. My open-> active connections is empty. Nothing happens when updating. AND:
  
  http:// < servername >: 13080/APS/SmartView gives me a 404 error. I checked to see if Analytic Provider Services ran who it was. I restarted the service anyway, still the same issue.
  
  Also there is a difference between installing Smart View of workspace vs download and delivery facility?

  What if you go in the section add-ins in excel, Smart View is in the list?
  If it is you can uncheck it, apply, then go back and try and add it again, go to the view smart installation directory e.g. c:\hyperion\SmartView\bin\HsTBar.xla

• Issue of Smart View?

  Our users report recently that Excel freezes when trying to copy and paste the value of the cell with enable Smart View, the steps they do are the following:

  Open the model smart display of Excel and then click on Control Panel, sharing connection, and then connect to essbase base, ad-hoc analysis.

  then control - C any cell in this model, Excel becomes frozen, they close Excel and restart.

  If Smart view does not activate, then Ctrl C and P control works well.

  Is the issue with this model/file?  What happens if the user is using a white sheet excel and did the same steps?

  If its this sheet only, check the display options smart for anything that seems unusual. You can also clear the metadata in the workbook, it could clear up what ever is causing the problem.  to do this, open the template, click Smart View-> Info-> Delete Sheet-> remove all metadata

  Dan is correct.  It is expected when connecting to Essbase of Smartview behavior.  The work around what he suggests is also one I have my team to use.  It has additional benefits.  You can do your work on a single sheet and then copy - paste special values only to the Essbase submission page.  In this way, you can use the formula to create your presentation, but not the formula on your shipment page.  Then, you can create a page of validation to make sure that the data matches between the two.
