  Hey there, looking for some advice.

  I currently have 2 two devices Cisco RV180W and I'm looking to expand my saturation wireless in my house and you're looking for the best way. a bit of back story... I originally had a signal (1) RV180W and it was in my basement (essentially a pop room configuration) and on the top floor of my house, the signal was very week. I found a text of presentation mentioned due to the chipset RV180W best wireless Extender/Expander was actually another RV180W and just used in an access point mode.   I would say your best bet here would be option 2, with a wired connection between them.

  WDS can be useful, but it has a few drawbacks.  For each hop that you take your speed will get divided by two, since each station can send or receive at the same time, not both.  With a wired connection eliminate you this additional relay between a router and the other on the air and can get better wireless performance.

  One thing I should mention, is that neither the installation program will result in customers maintaining connections perfectly while hopping between APs.  This would require something called seamless roaming, which is only available on the business access points where there is a controller wireless LAN involved.

  However, most of the time when hop customers between two networks it will be very fast and they will lose only briefly about connections. The decision on the time of the actual customer belongs, so that all devices will act in the same way.

  So in short, the same SSID on different channels is your best bet, ideally the channels 1, 6 or 11 If you do not overlap.

  In regard to the ease of management, they will be essentially two independent devices, each managed separately.  But once you set up the access point RV180 it will not be too many reasons to change the configuration, except maybe to change the wireless password.

  I have a simple HomeLAN which consists of a Cisco router for series 800-> switch PoE Cisco3560-> Cisco Aironet 1131AG Access Point.

  Everything works well for a while in which I had a simple port to "change the access mode" configured on the switch facing the AP and one SSID on the access point that is configured in stand-alone mode (without controller).

  My provider has enabled IPv6 on my broadband connection and I started to reconfigure my installation this afternoon to allow this.

  I decided to run only a bunk Dual LAN and a separate native IPv6 only test LAN for proof of concept.

  With this in mind, I changed the switch port to the access point to a "mode trunk switch' using simple dot1q encapsulation.   I have now two SSID broadcasting (we will call double stack and ipv6 only for the sake of the argument). The SSID double stack uses VLAN 2 and 1 bridge, while the SSID only ipv6 uses 6 VLAN and bridge 6.

  I must stress at this point that my router (where I want to layer 3 for the two LANs gateways) I have DHCP, DHCPv6 and SLAAC configured on relevant VLANs.

  I seem to be the 2 VLAN trunking of properly and I can see the SSID broadcast in my house. I can connect to the SSID (authenticate and form an association as seen in 'show the dot11 association'), but I don't get an IPv4 address or IPv6 assigned to all clients (I tried Mac OS x, iOS, Android, and Windows phone). Furthermore, I can't ping the IP bvi1 of the AP - that is the element that is annoying me more that I must console to the AP to make any changes at all.

  I wonder if it is possible to simultaneously run multiple SSID (actually 3) on a single Cisco AIR-SAP702I-E-K9, which is a standalone AccessPoint (AP). Each SSID should be linked to a different VIRTUAL LAN. Or do I need another model or even an AccessPoint driven by the controller to run multiple SSID on different VLANS to the same AP?

  Yes, you can have multiple ssid on the AP standalone. Each SSID must be mapped to a VLAN different.

  You can try the following steps and check if you can solve the problem.

  Step 1: Start the Windows Installer service

  1. click on Start, type Services.mscin start Searchand press ENTER.

  2. double-click click Windows Installer

  3. set the start type for Windows Installer to manual

  4. click Start start service.

  Step 2: you can also try the steps followingRéinscrivez Windows Installer and check if it helps

  a. clickStart, type %windir%\system32\msiexec /unregserver in the search box and press onENTER.

  b. type%windir%\system32\msiexec/regserver , and then pressENTER.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow

  If I understand your scenario, you have 2-38 or 16 VLAN for each unit. To ensure exactly the addressing specific IP must be assigned to the user, you must create groups of AP and add AP group particular AP. Let's say for the 1st floor that you used the subnet 192.168.1.0/24 and AP-group1 so all the first floor AP will be in AP group1.   In order to obtain roaming when users move from one unit to another unit we configure mobility in the controller. As OSPF is already running then you have reach-ability between the controller.

  Remember, when you're dealing with WLC, you do not configure the APs.  You configure the WLC and configs will be propatated of all APs manages the WLC.

  The WLC, you can use up to 18 SSID but you can configure 1 024.

  Currently, I have three SSIDS and one of them is for VoWLAN.

  Moreover, some hand scanners do not like the (hidden) SSID broadcasting.
