Installation of the strange C4700

Windows Action Center had two messages for me. One was "download and install the driver for your MFP.

It sends me to:

http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software11/COL28119/MP-71555-3/PS_AIO_06_C4700_USW_Full_Win_enu_140_17...

That downloads pages: PS_AIO_06_C4700_USW_Full_Win_enu_140_175.exe

When I run it I get this:

Please note that THERE IS NO "INSTALL" BUTTON!

Hello

It seems that MS Windows somehow directed to download the Windows 7 software and not the intended one correct for your system.

Follow the link below to get the software for Windows 8, I think this should solve the problem:

    Hey,.

I recently bought a Toshiba laptop computer, everything worked perfectly until my laptop was attacked. I've got rid of the virus and went to reformat due to a lot of problems that occur. The main one being a mistake has cursed and 'Blah blah' program must be closed. As I continued to get loads of errors.

Now then reformatting disk Toshiba said just put the disk in the drive and turn off. I did very well. The said toshiba drive press F12 on startup and then click on run the CD. The CD starts and gets half way thro reformatting.

Suddenly, I get a blue error screen. I thought oh well ill reboot and continue. This is where the problem started. Because I was half way thro removal/reinstallation of windows I was missing some files. I'll reinstall or try to use the Toshiba CD, I get a blue error screen.

    Hello

It s very strange because the installation since the Toshiba Recovery CD should work properly and without any blue screen message.
Usually, if the BSOD appears if there is a serious software problem or something wrong with the hardware.
I don t think that the software on the CD of restoration could be corrupted.

Have you tried to install the OS from the original CD of Microsoft Windows? It would be very interesting to know if the blue screen also.

However, I think that your laptop is new and the warranty is valid. In my opinion, you should ask the after-sales Service of Toshiba partner to help him because guys could start the diagnostic test and can find the fault.

But as soon as it will boot to the hard drive, it is just a black screen. It is very strange that you can see the hard drive in the bios and even with a diagnostics disk. I can see, scan it and check it by starting with a diagnostic disk, but when I start the computer, it doesn't do anything.

  • Installation of the system to remotely crash.

I tried to reformat several times but my installation acted as weird. Installation sequence evolves, the fonts have changed and there was a time the displayed installation was windows 98, when was actually what I was installing windows xp.
During installation, I couldn't access several applications/features/functions. He said that I have the administrator privileges. I checked the group policy and discovered that the assigned owner is a series of numbers/characters, trustedinstaller, etc.. I tried to reassign it to my account but it kept coming back.
Later, it appeared other profiles which I have not yet created and administrator privileges have been assigned to these profiles as well.
When I restarted, I could access is more group policy, services, local politics, back, etc.
I had problems of net security as well.
This has been a recurring problem.
Please note that when I was installing, cable internet was not connected.
I tried the search and in some sites I visited, there was mention of piracy using the emf, so I tried the suggestion to surround the pc with a sheet.
At first, I was able to reformat but after reformat, popped the question with administrative privileges. So I tried to reformat again. This time, reformatting would not follow, and after several trials he now automatically would go to a page indicating that it would proceed to the installation of the EMS. I did my research and discovered that the installation is done remotely EMS.

Apparently, my PC is controlled remotely, but how and by which is subject to investigation, which I would ask you please your help on.

I tried to surf and found instructions on how EMS can be disabled. I was able to turn it off and was able to proceed with the installation but still, the problem with the profile persisted property. I had no control over my own account.

I tried to reformat again, but this time I had to surf the start-up problems, since I had starting problems and apparently my pc is executed before even my installation cd is on (CMOS kept on changing the settings).

The EMS message appeared again and when I tried to turn it off, I could no longer use the orders or access their directory; they were already locked.

I tried to use the Disk Manager, trying to fill the disk, of zeros, but even managers of disc, I used were acting strange. Either they would freeze or they showed different disk size or they would format so quickly.
So I tried to check the disk through ms back and found a hidden volume x: sources. The volume label is BOOT. I tried to remove it, but I couldn't. I tried to format it, but it is what is shown:
    formatting 3 m
Unable to format. This volume is write protected.
Apparently, that's what is running even if I'm changing the values in the CMOS.
I tried to research it, but there is only one site that appeared when I googled: "formatting of 3 m.

It is the site of which appeared ONLY:

  • Installation of the Sierra

It is essential to backup prior to installation of the operating system Sierra?

Yes. It is always essential to backup before starting any kind of a major project as an upgrade of the operating system.

Old saying IT: it is always best to have a backup, no need then to need a backup and not have it.

  • Tecra A10 does'nt recognize 2nd HARD drive in the Bay of the STRANGE

    Hello

My TECRA A10 - 1 HG PTSB1E does'nt recognize my second HDD that has taken the place of the cd-rom.
I use a SATA caddy and the boot of the A10 with a CD-rom error!
is it not possible to use a shopping cart with a TECRA A10?
    Does anyone have a solution?

Thank you for your experience of return.
    Best regards

    Hello

I guess that the Tecra A10 does not support these updates.
The 2nd SATA controller does not seem to support the additional HDD instead of ODD.

But I've read a few things to get such2nd as recognized HARD drive.
You must start the laptop without the HARD drive caddy in ODD Bay.
After that the Windows system has started, you can plug/connect the HARD drive caddy and system PnP service should recognize the new device.

I think this isn't the best solution, but it seems like it s the only way to get this HDD caddy recognized in the Bay of the STRANGE

  • Portege 2000 - new installation using the PCMCIA CD-ROM XP

I try to install XP on Portege 2000 using the official PCMCIA Toshiba CD-ROM drive.

Install the XP disk boots fine, but after that Setup copied the files it blue screen (BSOD blue). I'm not very tech savvy, but I think it means that the BIOS can 'see' the PCMCIA CD-ROM, but that the real image of XP loaded by the installation program cannot, probably due to missing drivers for the PCMCIA CD-ROM?

Then, I thought that maybe I could use F6 to load additional drivers during the initial installation, but it is beyond me to create the right set of files required. I know that you can download the Freecom drivers, but I don't know what are the driver files from CD to use and how to create from scratch the txtsetup.oem file right.

Does anyone know how to properly use F6 and load the drivers for it?

I found a lot of messages suggesting I copy the installer to the HARD disk and launch the installation from there. My problem is that the XP installation is an upgrade CD, so I will ask you at a certain time to insert a previous Windows CD and if at that time there I don't have a working CD-ROM drive...

First post on this forum so be nice - I did a search but not find a thread with a real solution, but of course if I miss a please report!

    Hello

I managed to install Windows XP Home the Portege 2000 using the PCMCIA reader but I ve used recovery disks original Toshiba which includes the correct driver for external optical drive.

So far I tried not to install Windows XP Home edition, using the Microsoft installation disc.

Maybe you should get the disks of facilities and not use this upgrade disk. I think that on this path, you will be able to install WXP as suggested when you copy data from facilities at the disk directly.
Have you tried to get the original recovery disc Toshiba WXP?

  • OfficeJet Pro 8000: installation of the driver wireless Officejet 8000 Pro says default gateway is 0.0.0.0

I'm chasing a well-documented problem of my printer lost network connection after a variable period of printing to do not. The only way to connect is to change the power supply, but the printer may take 5 minutes to blow and grunts until it settles and prints...

I put a static IP address on the printer (10.0.0.250) as well as an empty default gateway successfully, and the documents are printed after 5mins of blowing and grunting (save the regular lost connection which I'm hunting...).

I put what I thought has a static IP address on the router to match (see image below), but now I don't know if it was necessary, and if the 'hosting of the fixed DHCP server' is correct. It might be useless and missleading...

Using the configuration of the printer to 10.0.0.250 interface, it seems to accept the installation of the network when the default gateway is blank. With the help of 10.0.0.2 caused the 'page not found' error in my browser (Chrome).

However, when you try to reinstall the drivers, the installer has grumbled to the default gateway is set to 0.0.0.0, which currently is the only way it will work...

The Win7 PC is plugged into the router.
The printer wireless to the router.

ipconfig on the pc gives Ethernet card details below.

So basically I have no idea what I'm doing...!

    ==============

Ethernet connection to the Local network card:

    The connection-specific DNS suffix. :
    Link-local IPv6 Address...: fe80::c8e1:63ef:85e0:7 24% 13 c.
    IPv4 address...: 10.0.0.249
    ... Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.
    ... Default gateway. : 10.0.0.2.

    Router config.

Thank you for your comments. It seems that I solved the problem of the default gateway. Time will tell if the remains of the printer connected through long periods of no use (see update below).

It seems that the configuration of the router of the "DHCP fixed existing host" has nothing to do with the device assigned a static IP address. In fact, it seems that this setting prevents the printer through a default gateway of the router address.

I noticed that when you give the PC a fixed IP, it connected through the router without any other configuration of router. If I reasoned that it may be applied to the printer also, so I moved the printer 10.0.0.251 and Bingo! the default gateway can be set to the IP address of the route.

Since then I downloaded to other updates, which is supposed to correct the common problem of wireless printers, loss of the connection.

I'll try to report in the next few weeks an update about the stability of connection network printers.

    UPDATED: May 23, 2016

And more of the foregoing, my router support suggested I increase a parameter "timeout" from 24 hours to 10 days. I did it more than a week. Today, the printer worked after the impression of not for about 5 days

  • Question about the installation of the OS

I have some problems with the shortcut keys and I want to reformat my system.
Problem is that I have not created recovery cd before, is this going to work if I do it now.

    Thank you

    Hello

Please don t worry about the recovery procedure. It's very simple to do. Put the recovery CD in the CD/DVD drive, start Notepad and press C button and hold it for a few seconds. This will force your unit to boot from the CD/DVD drive.

Follow the instructions on the screen. Standard mode will erase the whole HARD drive and create a partition. If you have only one partition I recommend to set up two of them. One will be used for the OS and application installations. The other can be used for the backup of data.

If you need more instructions, please write again.
