Installation of Verizon FIOS Internet/TV with WRT54G2

Great, I finally got to work!  Thank you very much!!  For anyone who is trying to add a Linksys router for your FIOS TV/Internet connection and have your Linksys as principal and still have your FIOS widgets/guide/VOD to work, please read below:

1.) wireless disable and DHCP on the AT

2.) release the IP address of the WAN Interface on AT and then turn off.

3.) Linksys to connect instead of AT

4.) renew IP Linksys address and check the connectivity

IMPORTANT STEP
5.) change of Linksys IP to 192.168.1.2 (something else as 192.168.1.1, which is the IP of your router.  Restart the Linksys.

6.) connect the cable to the LAN Port (1-4) on Linksys LAN Port (1-4) on AT.

7.) power on AT and confirmed you can connect to 192.168.1.1.  Now you should be able to connect to both routers respectively by typing the IP into a browser (192.168.1.1 = AT and 192.168.1.2 = Linksys).

8.) TV receiver reboot by disconnecting the work of Widgets/Guide/VOD device and make sure that.  In addition, if you check the DHCP table on your Linksys, you should now see that the Linksys assigned IP to your receiver cable (IP STB).

It's her! everything should work. IF anyone has problems and needs help, let me know.  THANKS again ONCE abandoned!

  • Linksys E1200 with Verizon Fios Actiontec

Hello. I bought the E1200 Linksys because it is Wireless N and the guest account. Please help me configure my new router Linksys E1200 to use for Wireless N instead of my Verizon Fios provided Actiontec (model place M4124-WR), which is only G wireless, and so that I can use the guest account. I have an ethernet cable from one of the 4 ethernet ports on the E1200 to one of the 4 ports LAN on the Actiontec. I have the wireless off on the Actiontec and have the E1200 defined as 192.168.1.200.

My Wireless N signal seems to work very well in the E1200 and I managed to activate the account invited on the E1200 and 'connect' on my iPhone 4, but then when I open Safari I can't connect to the internet.

Thanks for trying to help, but I had worked after a phone call with a cisco/linksys support person. I had to make the following changes:

The default gateway on Linksys E1200 after a hard reset is 192.168.1.1... I had to change the default gateway on Linksys E1200 to 192.168.5.1

Connected to port LAN 1 of the Actiontec to the Internet on the Linksys E1200 port.

Connected to the computer to port LAN 1 Linksys E1200.

Off the Linksys E1200 and the modem (Actiontec) for 30 seconds. Then, back on the Actiontec until what the internet light turned on, and then turned back on Linksys E1200.

Made sure that the wireless security page has been set to WPA2/WPA Mixed Mode because apparently the acct comments not use WPA WPA2.

  • How to optimize the internet service from Verizon FiOs for Vista

I agree with Verizon FiOs for internet and phone.  Recently, he was running very slowly, and when I ran a test of speed with the agent of Verizon, transfers came as ~4.96M download / upload de.758M.  In the details, he said the SendBufferSize is fixed to the Verizon Tech [8192] says size memory buffer to send should lie in the range of 6 numbers, but they could not optimize my system as it was a question of Ms.  He informed that he may be a workaround solution to improve the speed and suggested that our forum.  Can someone help me with this please?  Thank you.

I suggest you run the fix that he mentioned in the article below and check if the problem is resolved.

  • I have a SBS 2011 and cannot connect to internet through VERIZON FIOS.

I have a SBS 2011 and cannot connect to internet through VERIZON FIOS. The SBS is unable to detect the IP address and gave an error message. I never get to a screen that allows me to type in the "IP address of the router" or "IP address". Verizon told me that their router address is "192.168.1.1". After a new trial, I added my NETGEAR FS105 switch between the FIOS router and my PC 2 and SBS. Result - conflict of addresses of servers.
Any suggestions or solutions to this problem?

  • HP officejet Pro 8500 a - problem with configuring wireless from ATT Uverse to Verizon FiOS

I had this printer all-in-one, put in place and work wireless via ATT Uverse router in one city.  just moved to another city, where Verizon FiOS.  Now when I try to put in place the wireless connection, the printer connects to the router, but my computer cannot find the printer.  He gave a 169 IP address which seems not just.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall the software of the printer on my computer, but when you browse Setup on the computer, it does not find the printer automatically or by typing me the IP address, it shows on the printer.  Don't know what I did wrong.

It is not connected to your router (indicated by the 169.254 IP address).

Let me know the model of your FIOS router (Rev D, E, etc.).

  • C410a - wireless not connect to the Verizon FIOS router - fails MAC filtering

I just bought an all-in-one HP Photosmart Premium C410a printer.  It does not connect to the Verizon FIOS Actiontek MI424WR router, failed the test of MAC filtering.  Spent half an hour on the phone with Verizon (no resolution as they checked the filtering MAC is turned off in the router) and 3 hours with HP (no resolution).  Sharing the printer on a home network defeated the purpose wireless and is not acceptable because I don't want to have another PC switched on just to get to the printer.  Someone was able to resolve the failure "MAC filtering" wireless?

Without the MAC address filtering test indicates the problem is inconsistent with other available error messages.

There may not be a real problem of filtering.  I saw this message associated with WEP key mismatches secutiry and a host of other issues.

To what extent do you have on the installation.  We can work from there.

    Host family

P.S. I saw messages asking people to try to disconnect the router from the internet while doing the configuration of the printer.  Have you tried?  Sometimes the router check with the service provider before it will allow a device to join the network.  It bypasses this audit.

Yes I have FIOS Media Manager installed, but I've done since the start of Windows 7.  For the first week or so it does not start on my download restarts.  It started with this Nov 3 update from Microsoft.  I went to downloads and there were two of them; Update for Internet Explorer 8 for x 64 based and updated Windows Defender definition.

After you install these two updates on restart FIOS M.M. was live at startup and my favorite MSN have disappeared.  I disabled FIOS M.M., but somehow, he has been activated with this download.  I went on my drive external backup and recovered the Favorites but am always intrigued by this phenomenon and how it changed my registry.

  • Guest WIFI Linksys WRT54GS by connecting (v6) to ActionTec (verizon fios)...

    Hello

I want to activate access wifi comments so that I do not share my wifi password main with the guests to allow them to access the Internet (for browsing mainly).

I currently have Verizon FIOS as my ISP and use ActionTec (MI424WR Rev I). Unforunately, due to certain levels of firmware, allowing access as guest (via dual SSID) is not possible.

I have an old router d LinkSys WRT54GS (v6) and I was wondering if I can use to connect to my rounter Verizon ActionTec providing guest network? I want to keep Verizon FIOS ActionTec as my main router that I have other devices connected and configured for it.

So, I was wondering how to connect WRT54GS (v6) to my Verizon ActionTec rounter to leave wifi access without me offering me the passwd wifi main comments?

My WRT54GS (v6) does NOT run any DD - WRT or OpenWRT f/w but it is running original LinkSys f/w (1.52.8).

I want to know the following:

    (1) do I need to connect the LAN of router LinkSys LAN Port of Verizon ActionTec port? Or can I connect to LAN_port of Verizon ActionTec WAN_port of LinkSys?

    (2) do I need to disable the DHCP server on LinkSys?

    (3) can I create an additional SSID (with friendly passwd) on LinkSys for allow comments access this SSID while I access my original SSID of ActionTec?

I went thru' http://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=132275 and I tried, but my devices were not able to access internet when connecting to guest SSID.

Thus, you can enjoy a few tips here. Thank you!

    Kind regards

    Diakité.

Hi kamdard. You can actually set up the WRT54GS as a wireless network completely different from the one you are currently configuring it with a different name and a different password. If you want the host computers or wireless devices behind the WRT54GS to be able to communicate with the computers behind the ActionTec router then you can follow the method from LAN to LAN. If this isn't the case, then follow the LAN WAN configuraiton.

Only, you will need to disable DHCP on the ActionTec if you follow the method from LAN to LAN.

For easy setup, I have personally, suggest that you follow the LAN WAN config. This means that you connect the Ethernet cable between the LAN of your Action Tec port WAN or the Linksys router's Internet port. In this way, you don't have to disable DHCP in the WRT54GS and to access its configuration page via 192.168.1.1 anytime.

Furthermore, what is the IP address of your router, ActionTec? If it is on 192.168.1.1, too, you may need to change the local IP address of the router Linksys 192.168.2.1. Once done, access the configuration of the WRT54GS page and customize the wireless network and the wireless password.

Also, before all configurations, it's better reset the unit to default settings. It is done by pressing the reset button at the back of the routerfor 30 seconds while the power is on. Release the button and unplug the unit.

    Hope the above helps.

  • HP Photosmart C4580 cannot find network Verizon FIOS wireless

I already had my C4580 connected to my wireless network and then I moved and now I have Verizon FIOS and can not get the printer connected wireless!  It connects via USB, no problem.

Any help is appreciated, I spent 6-8 hours trying to solve the problems without result... :-(

    Facts to consider:

    Router:

    Verizon FIOS network

    MI424WR router model

    WPA

    No Mac filtering

    Printer:

    Wireless Network Test report

    Wireless On = PASS

    Work wireless = PASS

Found the network (SSID) name = FAIL

    Security = PASS

    Networks detected wireless = 4

    Computer:

    ThinkPad x 201

    Windows 7 64 bit

I tried to download and install the HP printing software that I found when searching support and each time it fails with a fatal error, uninstall the software and restart my laptop.  I turned off as much security as I can and retried (6-8 x) same error every time.

I think I need to run a wireless network on the printer config, but may not know how to do that when I can't download the software?

Please help, I am running out of patience.  I realize, it could be the router config, but I thought I would start here.

    Thank you

I was able to solve the problem using my wife's computer to run the HP software, change the network settings on the printer.

The main problem was that I couldn't install the software on my cell phone company (Cisco) to correctly configure the printer.  They must have controls in place that software HP must and cannot get the installation.

  • Why, when I clicked on the link to install, need me for Optimum connection. When I've got Verizon Fios, not Optimum more?

  • Verizon Fios G1110 replaced by AE

    Hello

I'm sorry if I put this once again. Please guide me for the links you guys think will be useful.

I have Verizon Fios router G1110 installed by the guys at Verizon and a WAN Ethernet is connected to this router.

I pay the rent for this router that I don't want.

I have an Airport Extreme I would use this router from verizon.

I tried to plug in the Ethernet WAN cable that comes from the box on the outside (I guess that's the verizon modem) my house in AE but keep to the orange flashing

Before unplugging the router from verizon, I renewed the DHCP lease and immediately disconnected the router from verizon, but the issue prevails.

I have not tried the option yet some posts I've read here mentioned - to disconnect while going to bed and to reconnect in the morning.

    You think this will help?

    Any other suggestions.

    Thank you.

    See you soon,.

    MAMITOU

Sorry, but you can not just replace the gateway of Verizon FIOS with AirPort Extreme or any other router. This is because the bridge is a combination FIOS modem and router in one. The extreme doesn't have a built-in modem.

  • PrintDoc: Need help D110a, Verizon FIOS & Lion

Sorry, I'm not too smart with all the terms used but have a little understanding of certain bases.

    Printer: HP D110a

Computer: MacBook Pro running Lion 10.7.2

A Wi - Fi connection: Verizon furnished MI424WR router (I have read the solution for the Actiontec router but didn't know if it would work on a Mac and literature received does not confirm whether or not it is an Actiontec router.)  In addition, I don't know what are the 2 key 3 key, etc..)

Security: WEP (it has been suggested that we keep it because we were told that it is more robust)

Two weeks or so, I created this printer in the shop of my wife.  I remember, by pushing the button on the router does not work but I think I finally got the printer to join the network by using the USB cable, but I'm not sure.  I could have typed the WEP password in the screen of the printer.  After that, wireless printing worked well.

Then, a few days before, we could not print.  The computer says that the printer was not connected.  The blue light on the printer blinks.  I can only work to solve this problem when the store is closed, and I would like to have a plan before I go.  I also tried to access the router via my computer, but it requires a name and a password.  It would be the name of the network and the WEP password or would it not be the network password?

    Other troubleshooting:

The wireless network Test report said "No problems found."  Each point in the summary says "PASS".  Encryption says 64-bit WEP.  However, the IP address is 169.254.144.xxx.  What is the problem?  I should just follow method 2 in the solution, or do I have to change something because it is a Mac running Lion?  Can I use the USB cable again?

The Configuration Page of HP network seems to be OK except that it has the same IP as shown above.  For 'Status', it says "connected".  Admin password is not set and the URL for built-in Web server is the same as the IP address, but with 'http://' in front of him.
