Installation of Windows 7 doesn't recognize Seagate ST3500418AS

Installation of Windows 7 does not recognize the hard drive. When I get to the step of the installation where he asks "which type of installation do you want" and I click on custom, it does not include the hard drive on the list. If I click on "Advanced", nothing appears in this list. And he asks a driver?  He asks which driver? And where can I down load it?

Program: Windows 7 Professional

Hard drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 (Seagate ST3500418AS). It's a 3.5 "SATA 7200 rpm 3 G

CPU: AMD Phenom II Black Edition (multi-Core processor)

I read the forum here and elsewhere on issues others have had to install Windows 7 on a Seagate hard drive. But I need for clarification on exactly which driver I need and where I can down load it.

Thank you.

The first thing to check would be to see if the BIOS recognizes the drive.  If it isn't, then it is impossible for Windows to do.  If it doesn't, check the wiring, maybe try a different power and SATA on the motherboard.  If she agrees, I could get hold of stand-alone Seagate diagnostics and see what they say.  If this player has been used for anything other than Windows in the past, it could be that he just needs to be formatted.  If it is brand new and the BIOS recognizes, it might be that you have just a faulty disk.  It's rare, but sometimes it happens.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

    Hello

    I have model X60s: 17044JU

    I installed XP of origin.

My computer is very slow and I am trying to reinstall XP from my CD (and the HD format so I have everything clean).

When the blue screen Windows installations appears and loads the drivers etc then it tells me that it doesn't recognize any HDD.

I thought that I might need the SCSI or RAID drivers, but since I don't have floppy drive I can not load their.

  • Windows 7 doesn't recognize as input joystick, so constantly, the screen goes black

Unlike Windows XP (not sure on Vista), Windows 7 does not recognize he entered occurs when I use my controller. For this reason, my screen goes black every few minutes, as he would if I left the computer entirely. How can I get Windows to recognize the controller as input device, in the way that my keyboard and mouse?

I am aware that I can just turn off the screen saver, or remember to touch the mouse every few minutes. But workaround solutions, not solutions.

I just want to clarify the step 2 for everyone because he left me scrathing my head for a minute. Ignore the real joystick listed in Device Manager and expand Interface devices. In this list, you should see HID-compliant game controller. Make a right click Select properties, then continue to step 3.

  • Windows 7 doesn't recognize hard drive

I am building two new computers and purchased two licenses OEM Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Two computers use a motherboard BioStar TA890GXB HD, AMD Phenom II X 6 1055 t. CPU, LG GH24 multi-optique player and 4 GB Kingston DDR3 1333 RAM. The first computer was a hard drive Maxtor STM3320620AS of recycling. It had recently been reformatted to NTFS, so essentially start over. The second computer was using a new hard drive Hitachi HD30500IDK.

From the start of the first computer, I got the screen where I can choose which hard drive to install on, but none are listed. The BIOS is displayed correctly the hard drive. I tried to go to the Advanced section to load the drivers, but it can not find the drivers for the SATA controller. I then followed the advice I found for the search for a solution and I found how to get to the command line. I am able to go on the C: drive. I have re - format the C: drive. After it was over, I tried to go back and it still does not recognize the hard drives. After a while, I gave up and tried to work on the second computer.

Start the second computer, I got to the screen to choose the hard drive and he identified the Hitachi HD. I managed to install the operating system and everything was exactly what I expected it to be.

As stated, they are identical, except for the hard drives. I double checked all my connections several times on the first computer, but everything checks very well. It seems strange that I can access the hard disk in the command line and in the BIOS, but it does not recognize the Windows 7 Installer. Any advice in addition to go out and buy a new hard drive?

How is the drive on your computer configuration, it is the first boot device or the secondary boot device?

You can try to switch the jumpers around and make a slave and you optical drive master and see if she will be so recognized by Windows 7.

  • Windows 8 doesn't recognize DVD drive on Satellite P775 program-112 - code 19

    I have a Satellite P775 program-112 that was previously under Windows 7.
This weekend I have upgraded to Windows 8 Pro RTM.

Following the upgrade, the DVD drive is no longer recognized.

In Device Manager the drive "POLE * one BD - MLT UJ240EF" is a warning symbol, and the status of the device in the properties is "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) ».

I tried everything I found on the web without success:
    -Reinstall the driver (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-US/library/cc772156)
-Find and remove UpperFilters / LowerFilters values in the registry (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060): in my case, they were not present

I also tried to plug a player of DVD USB of my laptop - it failed with the same status of the device in Device Manager. This suggests the problem is not specific to my hardware DVD.

    Any suggestions welcome!

    Thank you

Don't have no real experience with Win 8 but from my point of view, it's a Windows system problem that also appears on an another old Windows systems.

The ODD driver is part of the Windows system (any Windows) so you would not be able to download and install a separate driver.
I had a similar problem with my old Win Vista laptop.
Could solve this problem by removing the CD/DVD drive in Device Manager
I restarted the laptop and the system could install the STRANGE once again without any yellow exclamation point

Now with windows 8 it is using my monitor as a secondary screen so I don't see anything. When I plug into my TV via hdmi, it is not a problem, but I can't get my dvi monitor to work. Any suggestions to fix this?

    Try this:

Select; Control Panel > select. View > select. The resolution >

Highest 2 monitor (by right-clicking on it) > right click on the area of selection; Do my main didisplay. > select. Apply.

  • Why windows 7 don't recognize iolo sys mech pro like a virus checker

Does anyone know why windows 7 doesn't recognize iolo labs, System Mechanic pro as a valid virus / anti-malware program. It works fine in the background and continue to check for all types of viruses and software spies /malware.

    Hello

You probably have an anti-virus/anti-spyware product testing iolo System Shield. It is a different program.

There are many antivirus programs that do not properly report to the center of the Action.

If you're absolutely sure that you have an installed antivirus program and it works correctly, you can turn the center of Action by checking for this component.

    Open Control Panel/Action Center.

On the left side of the window, select Change Action Center settings.

Remove the check box of the element of protection against viruses.

    Click OK.

  • Install Windows 8 does not recognize the system drive

I built a new machine (chart below). Since this is a new machine and not an upgrade, I bought Win 8 Pro 64 bit OEM to do a clean install. The SSD is my system disk that Windows 8 will be installed. Four data drives are mirrored, two for the other two. Construction went perfectly. The BIOS recognizes all six disks: 1 SSD, 4 HDD, 1 DVD.

Insert and boot the disk of Windows 8. Accept the EULA, enter the product key. Arriving at the page "Where do you want to install Windows?", only four hard disks are listed. The SSD (installation to go) is not found by Win 8. ??? I tried to change ports SATA, cables, power supply - no difference. For each new change of hardware, the BIOS still sees everything. This isn't a hardware problem.

The question remains: why the installation of Windows 8 does not recognize the SSD drive. All five disks are on AHCI. I'm not in RAID.

I spoke with crucial technical support of all (manufacturer of the SSD). They were also surprised that the drive does not appear in the list.

Does anyone have a solution? I spent all the money on hardware, as well as the new version of Windows and I cannot install it.

This is the real kick in the teeth: Microsoft won't support me. The OEM of Windows 8 version is the same as manufacturers, such as Dell or HP. Support told me I had the support of the manufacturer. HA! I am the manufacturer. Either that or upgrade from an earlier version of Windows. This means that any that a new construction machine will get ZERO assumption of Microsoft. All just great.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

The DSS must be LOW LEVEL FORMATE.

Once, there may be no other [HDDs] not connected to the SATA ports.

    Install Windows 8 Pro now.
