Installation of 'Windows DVD Maker' on Vista
I downloaded "Windows DVD Maker" to a point where the downloaded module must be decompressed. The download procedure dies at this time.
The Vista I have is 'Business' version that does contain no "Creation of DVD", I need.

I am running Windows DVD Maker on a Vista PC. When I start the burn sequence the coding process will continue at 40% and then the application freezes. My initial project was 125 minutes of capacity DVD 150 minutes. I tried to burn a small project in 58 minutes and successfully completed. No idea why I can't use more than the ability of the DVD? All I can do to fix this? I'm running a new HP with a Phenom x 4 processor, 64-bit, and I've got important of RAM and hard drive space available.

Usually a single layer 4.7 GB DVD white held an hour of high
quality video. With compression, some programs are capable of
the extension of this period. I don't know exactly what is DVD Maker
capable of in that regard I think 150 minutes it is really pushing.Large and complex projects usually cause problems. Best bet IMHO
would be to create several small projects and publish (save) each
a WMV format movie to a folder on your hard drive. Then import the WMV files collected in DVD Maker and each of them
becomes a scene (chapter), you can have up to 18 scenes.Without a doubt... video editing and DVD burning can be a frustrating business.
Good luck with your project.

I have the windows Director, went to Microsoft and tried to download Windows DVD maker but does not appear to have installed despite me try it 3 times, all I want to do is publish a movie!
On Vista, Windows DVD Maker requires that you have Windows Vista Home Premium or Windows Vista Ultimate Edition. If you have one of these versions, you should already have Windows DVD Maker and Windows Movie Maker 6.0. These versions of Windows Vista are required to have copies under license from MPEG-2 to make a video DVD.
I was not aware of a separate installer for Windows DVD Maker, so I suspect you look at something of a 3rd site part. If it is a Microsoft site, can provide you the address you use?

Why Windows DVD Maker keep crashing?
I try to start Windows DVD Maker with VISTA Home Premium.
Sometimes, it encodes only 3% and then crashes, IE closed its doors completely, suddenly without nessage or warning. Sometimes, he makes 30% or 60% and then hangs. And sometimes, it works perfectly, an hour or more DVDS. It seems to do a few minutes of DVD.
In case it's a matter of heating, I brushed all that I can see inside and checked the fans. I remove the side panel and blow with a fan domestic as well during the encoding.
Help please.
Following advice by the way, I tried to convert a Movie Maker project file a.wmv, but crashed in the same way. Is the problem in the coding mechanism?I installed speedfan , and it showed a temperature of 78 C in the CPU and a warning sign. The temperature seems to be creeping upward soon. Overheating is the problem and there is something else to dust?
The real reason was that the CPU thermal compound round had perished, so if you have problems that do not seem to be associated with fan, heater contact a competent PC repairman instead of naffing on this site.

Can't find on my vista home premium Windows DVD maker!
I have vista home premium but I find no creation of windows dvd on my vista and I am the only admin on my vista if someone can tell me how to solve this problem? I rather not reinstall the OS.
No, unfortunately only HP smart media DVD arrives and file called DVD data in xml format and which was nothing.
Try to copy and paste %ProgramFiles%\Movie Maker\DVDMaker.exe is in your area of research, or
Computer > C: drive > Open > enter "%ProgramFiles%\Movie Maker\DVDMaker.exe" in the top-right search box.A little luck?

I can't publish my holiday video (multiple files linked together by me in Windows Movie Maker with title screens before each clip and music) as Windows DVD Maker claims an unspecified error of 1.6% each time. I changed the output directory, but that did not help. Also, when in Movie Maker / a lot of DVD Maker icon stream through the bar near the clock, some white with small print out and some red with "Ffv", which I can only think fact obstacle to the whole process!

That should do it...

My operating system is Windows Vista. I used Movie Maker to make of my recordings of camcorder home movies, but when I try to burn a DVD with Windows DVD Maker, the program closed its doors with an error message - Data Execution Prevention (DEP) has apparently stopped the program for preventing possible dangers for my computer, maybe because he was "bad memory usage". I tried to turn off DEP for this program, but it won't let me. How to work around this problem?
NB I have not used the DVD maker for about 20 months, but it worked fine then!

Close IE and try again IE or IE with no Addons

When you use windows dvd maker there was no sound on my finished dvd, why?
When you save a short film he worked with sound and video, when recording a longer movie (1 h 22 min.) video worked with no sound, when I preview it was scientifically, what could have caused this to happen? (I tried twice with the same results)

If you don't mind a liitle experience...
Choose one of your avi files, use a video converter, change it to WMV format.
Add the WMV to dvd creation. He accept? For the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

Good then it's perhaps insoluble, but I can find more Windows DVD Maker on my computer. When I open the start menu and select all programs, it's not here. Is it possible to uninstall this program? If I managed to do is there any way I can restore it on my computer?
Hello xDUngeoNMastERx,
Thank you for visiting the website of Microsoft Windows Vista Community.
Windows DVD creation is located in %ProgramFiles%\Movie Maker\DVDMaker.exe. You should be able to create a shortcut icon and place it in the start menu. If this isn't the case, then I suggest you do a restore of the system to date, the program has been lost.
This should answer your question or solve your problem.
I hope the information is useful.
Kind regards

Cannot open a project in Windows Movie Maker after the backup in Windows DVD Maker
I imported with success of media in Windows Movie Maker, Movie published by using Windows DVD Maker as a guest just so that I could see how it would look. I was able to view what I had engraved on a DVD and was very happy about how he already produces. When I returned to Windows Movie Maker and tried to open my project to continue adding multimedia elements to it, I can't open it - it tells me that it is not a valid file in Windows Movie Maker. Can find my project in My Documents in the category Videos, I'm still not able to open it. I wonder if I shouldn't have saved in Windows DVD Maker. I hope that I'm not "all over again.
I would greatly greatly appreciate it if anyone can help. It is a very special project for a class reunion.
This is the first time I used a forum so I hope I've submitted it correctly.
Thank you!
NancyLouse,
Windows DVD Maker and Movie Maker store files with different file extensions. This means that if you named the file 'file Movie Maker' and the DVD Maker 'file' file the real file names would actually file. MSWMM and file. MSDVD
To display the extensions on all the files follow these steps:
-Click on the ORB to start and Control Panel
-In Control Panel, click Classic view in the upper left corner
-Click on Folder Options, click view
-Scroll to "Hide Extensions for known Types file" and uncheck this boxThe search in the folder now where you saved these files or use the search function, you should see the 2 different files.
What version of Windows are you using? If the Windows Vista Ultimate and the file has been deleted somehow you can be lucky.
Vista Ultimate is a feature called previous versions. To restore the file back to it's previous state, you can do a right click on the folder where the document has been stored (if the Documents may start, right-click on Documents) then go to properties
-Click the previous versions and you will see the dates corresponding to previous versions of the file you are looking at.
-Select a date and time that corresponds to when the file in this folder was in operational condition and double-click the file to open itFind the file in the folder newly open and drag the file to your desktop (be sure not to drag to the exact location where the file was initially as not to overwrite the file).
I hope this helps
