Installation of Windows XP Editions

I have my disk key and product of the homepage of Windows editions. But the disc is scratched and will not install a large number of files and programs and drivers. What should I do before buying a new drive to the old computer. Money is a problem here. Can I install it from online? Help

At the same time, microsoft would have replaced, free...

You can locate a used cd/dvd/vhs store, or call, they have the means to restore

drives used.

In addition, recent CD-ROM/rw/DVD hardware can read much better than the old

technology ones, even a few years old, newer might help.

    Hello

"do a custom (clean) installation for windows 7 home premium.

You say you want to install Windows 7, NOT Vista.

It is a better idea if you buy you the Windows 7 DVD and then install it from the media.

You then save model the work of making a Bootable DVD from the download and you also then have a reliable way to reinstall Windows 7 and repair work on this, if you have the need to.

Before purchasing Windows 7, make sure that your hardware and software will work properly with him.

Take some time and these checks:

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

  • Unable to change the base installation of Windows Vista Edition language family by using the restore Vista DVD

I have Fujitsu Siemens ESPRIMO Mobile (laptop) with pre installed Windows Vista Home basic. It is in the English language.

When I want to re-installed Vista using (supplied with Labtop) restore DVD, after the installation, it is in Arabic. I tried to change this language but I can't. Could you please help to solve this problem.

    Thank you

    Hello

You will need to contact Fujitsu about this.

You cannot change languages with Vista Ultimate and Enterprise.

You can have a different result if you try reinstalling using this method.

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

To do this, insert the Cd of ' Windows' drivers, it will run automatically or Run "Browser.Exe" inside the Cd The 'Raid Driver' and click on Select 'Installation', it will show you the Raid driver files, insert A Blank Floppy and copy the files in The Floppy 'To be sure that all the files be on the root of The Floppy' or to download the Toshiba RAID driver from the Toshiba web page download driver and extract the file zip on a diskette. Yet once, all files must be at the root of the floppy disk not in a folder"

  • Preparation of an installation of Windows XP Home edition CD with a MINIMUM required drivers for A200-1AX

    Greetings,

I am trying to install Windows XP Home edition on my old days by Satellite A200-1AX. Today, I tried to boot from the CD of Windows XP Home edition or after the copy of the system files, the laptop produces the error that Setup did not find any hard disk during the Installation of Windows XP. I looked on the internet and found the following page:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows/resolving-Setup-did-not-find-any-hard-disk-drives-during-Windows-XP-installation/

Explains how to resolve this problem. So I try to make my own installation CD of Windows XP Home edition with the necessary drivers. My first question is: what are the minimum required drivers to ensure a smooth installation process until I get the XP running? It is not necessary to install the drivers for all the A200-1AX since the first installation of XP, I can always go back and install those remaining of the XP; but I don't want the installation process interrupted due to a missing driver where I have to repeat the process of manufacturing more install of WXP CD custom. The list of drivers and devices provided by Toshiba is too long to write on a single installation with XP CD.

My second question is: there is an update of the bios/firmware required in accordance with the instruction list. Is it necessary BEFORE or AFTER the installation of Windows XP Home edition?

If I decide to go back to VISTA using the recovery CD, I must restore the bios/firmware?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

    Best regards, Ashraf.

    > My first question is: what are the minimum required drivers to ensure a smooth installation process until I get the XP running

You will need to include only the Intel Matrix Storage Manger for the XP CD again. Without this iMSM XP will not see the HARD drive
This driver is important. Other drivers can be installed after the installation of XP!

    > My second question is: there is an update of the bios/firmware required in accordance with the instruction list. Is it necessary BEFORE or AFTER the installation of Windows XP Home edition?

There are 2 versions of BIOS; One for Vista and one for XP. Generally, the update of the BIOS must be made before the instillation of OS but you can also try to do after installing XP. In both cases, the update of the BIOS would be possible.

    > If I decide to go back to VISTA using the recovery CD, I must restore the bios/firmware?
Generally, Yes! Without the good BIOS features like the FN buttons could not work properly!

  • Why when I run the installer for Windows 8 consumer preview on my computer of Windows XP Home Edition he says: "this platform is not supported"?

Setup of Windows 8 consumer priview

Why when I run the installer for Windows 8 consumer preview on my computer of Windows XP Home Edition he says: "this platform is not supported"?

You can see this message if you downloaded Windows 8 64-bit and XP 32-bit. To start the installation of Windows 8, you will need to restart and boot from the installation of Windows 8 media.

If you want to keep your current installation of Windows, you can install it on a separate partition and dual boot with the Windows 8 Preview of consumer. To install on a separate partition and dual boot, you must create and boot from the installation media.

    (1) first you will need a free partition on hard drive - if you do not you can shrink a partition and create a new one to install Windows 8 Preview of consumer on.
To reduce a partition and add a new one that you can use EASEUS Partition Master (free):
    http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm

    (2) to install on a separate disk, you can perform an installation DVD or USB key, then boot from it so you can choose the other partition. To download the ISO file and install media:
Download Windows 8 consumer Preview ISO:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/ISO
After you download the ISO file - use the Windows USB/DVD Download tool to install media:
    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

    (3) installation on a separate partition for dual boot:
1 make a DVD or USB installation drive - to see the two options above.
    2. start from the DVD or USB install drive and click on install when prompted.
    3. during the installation process, when asked - choose a custom installation.
    4. Select a free partition on the hard disk to install Windows 8 Preview of consumer - this will install Windows 8 on a separate instead of your current Windows partition partition.
    5 continue with the installation.

    First of all please note:
1 consumer preview Windows 8 is a pre-release and will only work for a limited time - when it expires, you need to remove it.
    2. the overview of consumption is stable and has been tested, but it s not the finished product. Your PC may crash and you may lose important files. You should backup your data and you shouldn't test Windows 8 Preview of consumers on your primary home or business PC.
    3. If you install the preview of consumption on the Windows partition is currently installed, you cannot uninstall the preview of consumption. To return to your previous version of Windows, you will need to reinstall from the recovery or installation media supplied with your PC.
    4. in addition to dual boot, here are a few methods to install Windows 8 Preview of consumers without affecting your current installation of Windows:
    (A) remove your current hard drive and install the Preview of consumers on a spare drive.
    (B) install it on a spare computer.
    (C) install the Preview of consumer in a virtual machine.

The sticker key product or something else, says 'Windows XP Home Edition, HPQ'

    Hello rutofteaching,

Because the certificate of authenticity (CoA) has "HPQ" on that, we know that it is a HP or Compaq computer.  Please contact HP/Compaq support to see if you can order a recovery disc for the computer.  If the original motherboard is still in the computer, it is always allowed to run Windows XP Home Edition HP/Compaq.

Departure to this page by using HP/Compaq: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph07143&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

If none of the recovery discs are available from HP/Compaq, please try other suppliers such as www.restoredisks.com.

In a pinch, you can borrow real Microsoft hologrammed XP Home installation disc a friend provided with licenses from Microsoft for XP Home Edition OEM/systembuilder/small manufacturer.  Installation using this CD and the product key located on CoA on your computer and NOT the product key provided with the CD. After installation, you must activate by telephone and NOT by an automatic online activation.

As others have posted, there is nowhere on the Microsoft site that you can download an ISO file or equivalent for Windows XP Edition family.  You wouldn't use a downloaded disk even if you could find one elsewhere on the internet because they are probably packed full of malware, rootkits, and who knows what else - not what you want to infest your computer with.
