Installation of Windows XP on the Pavilion dv7-6195us
Well, I am trying to install Windows XP Professional on my laptop, HP Pavilion dv7-6195us.
THA laptop came with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed.
I want to create the dual-boot with XP and 7. The problem is that I get the blue screen after pressing any key to boot from the DVD.
Does anyone know how to install Windows XP on laptop Pavilion dv7?
The link with you help solve this problem:
Recently, I've killed my Pavilion dv7 - 1147 Vista ca for the edition of office Xp Pro. I could find the drivers for pretty much everything, but I can't work in my audio drivers. I looked around, but really can't find anything on my product, in terms of troubleshooting. I don't really know what that you guys need information, so ask and I can get it for you.
Problem solved. for someone else who has the problem, as soon as you install the MS UAA, it allows to detect certain hardware. Instead of having it go online to find the drivers, tell it to search in a specific directory on your computer. Even if you have the window "select a directory" open, run the sp45044 driver. The installation program will fail, but it puts the driver on your computer. return to the window "select a directory" and have it searching for C:\SWSetup\SP45044\WDM\WinXP. It now allows to install your drivers and audio will start to work immediately!
Thanks for the help of Paul
I have a Pavilion laptop dv6-3019tu with Windows 7 (edition family 64 bit) installed.
Now, I would like to install Windows XP from a CD which is the iso image. In the BIOS boot order, I changed the boot CD/DVD option, but still boots to Windows 7 and not on the CD.
Please help me in installing Windows XP in my notebook.
Thanks in advance.
You are the very welcome, Stephanie.
Here is the link to the drivers you need and then below who are a link to a guide to integrate the drivers.
The first file listed is for XP 32 bit.
Read the Intel section, and then follow the instructions on the downloadable document to integrate all the drivers.
I expect to download a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit ISO from Microsoft, but I'm having trouble. Since I bought my laptop HP with Windows preinstalled, the Microsoft site I cannot get an ISO. It forces me to contact my manufacturer instead.
How can I get an ISO of Windows of HP?
Order recovery USB:
Contact HP directly to USB recovery:
Either way it will cost you $30 or more.
Here are two correct graphics for the Pavilion dv7-4270us cards: ATI Mobility Radeon 6370 AND AMD880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250?
An overview chart problems and need to ensure.
Well, after all the day I found my answer in a review of this laptop on amazon. That is this HP forum. I never get help here.
It is of a Pavilion DV7-6195us. It connects wireless to a provided Comcast router/gateway. My connection drops randomly, and my solution was to click on the bottom wireless icon to the right of the taskbar, disconnect my network, wait 5 seconds and reconnect. It is successful in 90% of cases.
I looked in Device Manager > network adapters and see: Intel Centrino Wireless n 1000 #2, Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter #2, Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport adapt #3 and Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.
This laptop was bought second-hand from a guy who did the free update for Windows 10 without doing all the preparation work. I restarted it in Win 7, 64 bit. The laptop is starting in 2012 and I did the best I could to update the latest drivers, but trying to install the latest WiFi driver gave me the message that says that the driver installed is newer than the one I tried to install. The current version of the driver is 220.127.116.11 as of 1/26/2014(Intel Centrino). I don't know why it is a #2, and I do not know whence the Microsoft Virtual Miniport #2 and #3. Their versions of the drivers are identical and are dated from 2006.
I wonder if they interfere with the Intel N 1000? Should I uninstall them? Is there a driver later for the Centrino N 1000 found somewhere other than to HP support site?
My goal here is to stabilize my connection to my wireless router.
My wife's cell phone is a Dell Inspiron which is located not far from where my laptop is, about the same distance from the router, and she has no problem connecting.
Sorry, I sent the graphic driver not the network driver.

Again, I am sorry that I did.
I watched a couple videos on You Tube, but the Pavilion DV7 show is not the same as mine.
I know that there are many varieties of entertainment DV7 laptops. One of the videos shows the cover that surrounds the keyboard as rupture near the top corners left and right of the keyboard. Mine is solid from before backward, and has a border of lighted (illuminated) around the touchpad.
My question: How can I ensure that the keyboard that I buy is good?
There are a lot of keyboards for sale on ebay and amazon and the prices range from $ 17 to $ 51 +.
If you know a video training here on the HP support site, please let me know.
You have misunderstood me. I buy one on Amazon. My only fear is that even if they say that they provide one of their warehouses, other buyers have to wait 50 days or more.
I've been waiting a ridiculous amount of time before, but it was through ebay, even if the seller claims a U.S. address.
First of all, I can't find the model p6130y number on the HP Support. The original hard drive came out and it was replaced with a Seagate SATA 850 GB drive, buy Windows 7 on DVD and I tried to install. Obtained through formatting the drive. Their only option now is to "Load a driver." He says that I need to locate the HD driver on the media and press OK. I can't find such an on installation disk so will try the find the right HD drivers for this model computer download on a USB key. Any ideas?
Here is the link for the driver sata for your model:
Just download it and do not run it.
The motherboard in your model has major problems with the drives out and that the results in the hard drive and DVD drive from the BIOS endangered.
It could happen to your model, it's why W7 cannot find the hard drive.
You will need to download and install this free program.
After installing 7 - Zip, right-click on the Sata driver you downloaded and select 7 - zip option in the list.
Select extract to: I leave extract the name of the file and extract the exe file in a folder of driver.
Once you have the file, open it and copy the contents of the folder on a drive portable usb flash without the src folder.
With the flash player and the installation of W7 media connected to the computer, boot from the installation of W7 media.
After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.
You should now see the storage driver files listed.
If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.
Follow the prompts and hopefully, W7 should install correctly.
A week ago, I bought the HP Pavilion dv7-7052sw.
It came with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition.
I wanted to customize for my personal needs, change partitions etc...
So I formatted it.
I looked at the new installation of Windows 7 64 bit BOX.
Everything goes well until the final step, installation restarts and fails on "Finish Installation" screen because
system is unable to start services on my computer and I have to restart the instalation.
I tried 3 times.
I did not create a backup/restore disc.
What is the problem? It's my first HP laptop and I don't expect problems like that.
Installation disc that I use works fine on my old laptop.
Need help please, I don't know what to do now...
Please see 'Windows Setup cannot configure Windows on hardware on this computer' Setup on a Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 computer error for a possible cause of your problem.
Installation from a Windows 7 SP1 disc or a USB flash drive should fix this for you. Please see "how to install Windows 7 without the disc" to get instructions on how to download Windows 7 SP1, create the installation media and install Windows 7 SP1 by using the 25 digit product key from the COA Microsoft on your computer.

According to the rules, I have need of the State:
I am an employee of HP, my views/opinions/etc are mine and do not reflect those of HP.
I filed a bug report kind - but I don't know where to start, I do not work in an area that has nothing to do with the manufacture of products from HP; It is my free time now and I do not have intranet access .
I recently got a HP Pavilion dv7-4113tx Entertainment Notebook PC [XV780PA] for my personal use, and overall, it was very good. It comes with windows 7 Home Premium x 64 bit.
There is however a problem I have to implement what concerns games, or I guess any application intensive 3d, especially Valve games, my criterion of choice is Team Fortress 2. Edit: another game that stuttered, but less frequently - Serious Sam HD.
The game works perfectly in native resolution (ed: change the lower resolution will not affect the bug)-I'm moving 100-120fps but about every 30 seconds - 2 minutes, there is an audio/video stutter (stuttering, she repeats the dernieres.5 seconds of audio about 3 - 4 times in a loop while the screen freezes on where begins the first audio stuttering) which will make the game of 'freeze' for about 2 seconds and then continue where you left off.
Team fortress 2 is an incredible critical moment online multiplayer game, and this delay essentially means my e-death several times.
I thought at first that it was the graphics card or drivers - I put drivers at latest on the ATI site, which has increased my fps, but the stuttering was always there. After searching around on the internet a bit, I found a suggestion to turn off the audio driver (like - Device Manager lists IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) as test - so I did.
The game purrs like a kitten - absolutely no stuttering. my score went up immediately
So, my next step was to try to get updated for the IDT Audio device drivers (note, I can't find a name of model anywhere in the features of hp - or on the internet really) - I've discovered IDT themselves cannot release the pilots, that these can be obtained through OEM.
which brings me here.
now - closest to the drivers, I found I needed here: Driver Audio IDT high definition (HD) for Microsoft Windows 7
Note: - it says on the page that they are 32-bit drivers - but I found that they work with the 64 bit version of windows.
These worked a little better - he fixed another problem - by the way if you use volume controls in an application full screen which she will spend on the desktop to display the scroll bar on screen volume down (what was probably redundant because windows 7 displays the volume of the speaker in the lower right corner)- and he turns just the audio down as expected.
However - the stuttering is still very much present .
Then, I tried to use the wizard to Support HP to run automated diagnostics and troubleshoot... which then downloaded the old drivers who gave me this issue of full volume control screen back again once - so I guess that the original drivers.
So I installed the other drivers again.
My next test will be to use an external USB sound card to see if that will allow me have games with sound.
An agent appropriate at HP can you please address this concern and notify when this bug - IDT says they work with OEMS to solve problems on a regular basis on the IDT link above.
In my view, that it is a question that will probably require a bug fix.
EDIT: I will cross-post this to the game as well.
second edition: added serious sam, res fullscreen downgrade info, reference removed firewire firewire no!
Got a solution as possible here. Without changing the HARD drive (for me problem was there).
I'm having quite the challenge with installing Windows 7. I have a HP Pavilion dv2800 (2842se) (Vista 64 - Bit), which required a new hard drive. Today, I installed a new SATA 320 GB 5 400 rpm device and booted up using the Windows 7 installation CD (bought a copy of the sales at retail).
I can't past the second screen, which indicates that Setup cannot locate the correct drivers (I guess that each of them, but the first error specifically referenced the CD/DVD device driver).
I did the install in a folder of drivers that I ripped out the original machine, which had Vista. Who has not identified.
I've rooted through forums and looked for HP, but it doesn't look like device drivers are displayed for this machine for a new installation of Windows 7 (not satisfied with this answer).
Anyone know what I can do to get the drivers for this computer (where?) and allow Windows 7 to proceed with the installation?
Any help will be appreciated.
My alma mater-called... they want their degree of technology back.
I made a mistake and downloaded the x 86 version for a 64-bit machine. I'm now enjoying the "copy windows...... expanding windows files install has screen.
I'm sure I'll run into driver problems later, but this problem is solved. Thanks for asking the obvious questions, which led me to remember the basics.
Hi, I got this error for some time and now find hair on my bald head out have used Manager recovery and uninstalled - reinstalled - restarted my laptop, but still get this error on HP Pavilion dv7-6b50ea. Can anyone help please.
Firstly, uninstall your current version of HP Support Assistant using Microsoft 'Fixit' at the following link: this is particularly useful for correcting problems that may prevent resettlement on the machines running a 64 bit OS.
Here is the link to the latest version of HP Support Assistant:

I own a dv7 - 3186cl and recently bought a new hard drive to replace the damaged one. When I go to install windows 7 from the recovery of the system DVD purchased by hp, it loads a blank screen background image and stays there.
I had kept it slowed down on it for about 6 hours now. The mouse still moves, but nothing has changed.
I ran Diagnostics on the computer before this point and he passed all the tests.
Someone help me please... I have no idea what to do
Please reinitate the recovery process. Please remove all other devices connected to the laptop. Here is the link that has the steps:
Due to some problems, I had to format the entire computer and reinstall the operating system and updates. But time looking for downloads for my laptop (once again: Pavilion Dv7 - 3190em) I have not found all the software that I promised to buy. For example: MediaSmart Music, video, photos, SmartProtect, Cyberlink DVD and so on. So is the support site incomplete or these programs are not availible to everyone for downloading? As I said before, the computer is completely formatted, so I do not have the HP Recovery disk.
Hoping to hear from you soon.
I do not know what HP MediaSmart software, you must so I write all latest versions 32/64 bit Win7:
SmartMenu here (version 18.104.22.168)

I'm trying to do a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro on a Lenovo ThinkPad X 200. The product key is easy to find on the sticker of the ThinkPad. However, the version of Windows is hidden (for example, I can't check that my ThinkPad had originally installed Windows 7 Pro). I was able to install by using a Pro Win 7 SP1 CD ROM I bought for another installation. I used the ThinkPad I was trying to make the new facility on the product key. I was able to activate the Windows 7 Pro using the phone call and my cell phone. I checked the activation! However, I have problems with Windows update. The product key may be a different version of Windows 7. If so, why did it install and activate OK? Y at - it a fix for this problem or I have to buy a new version of Windows 7 Pro? Please note that I have not yet installed all drivers Lenovo ThinkPad as I can't seem to install correctly. Thank you!
Since the issue is updated to Windows, it is not a product number key.
You can reset the Windows Update components by running the Fixit on this page. But if there is malware present, she will continue to reset the connection to the update servers:
How to reset the Windows Update components
Suggest you download and save the Fixit. Then configure the system before the clean boot by running:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista/Windows 7
Once the Fixit has been downloaded and the system is started in the pure State, check that the native Windows Firewall is now on if a 3rd party firewall has been used previously. Now run the Fixit and choose the default mode. Restart once it's done and see if the system can be connected to the update servers. If he can't, then rerun the Fixit and choose aggressive mode. Turn it back on when he finished the race and updates.
