Installation of WLAN Driver Satellite Pro A200 to WXP

Hello

I installed Windows XP SP2 for a client on Satellite Pro A200 (PSAE7E) and installed after is spoken in the German support hotline all drivers as in the test - instal .txt but I don't get the Atheros WLAN card to work.

It is an ar5bxb72 of Atheros, but no way.
I get all of the drivers in this list only works with the hardware, but not the card WIFI but I installed it in the list.
Someone has a tip for me?

Welcome them
Marco

Hi dude

Are you sure that the laptop was equipped with the Atheros WLan card? According to some information that I found in the internet, this laptop comes with an Intel or Atheros WLan card!

I checked the page Toshiba provides an Intel WLan Atheros Wireless Lan Client Manager and drivers. The Wireless Lan Client Manager is not the driver, but only the tool that helps you to configure your wireless network card and gives you more than the functions integrated configuration of windows configuration options.

I recommend to download this portal Toshiba WLan WLan driver:
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

By the way; If you use XP on this laptop preinstalled Vista you will need to update the BIOS to version XP too!

Greetings ;)

  • XP installation LAUGH on 32 Satellite Pro A200 laptop via computer

    Hello

Can anyone help? I try to install 32 laptops (Satellite Pro A200) through Services of Installation Windows 2003 Server remotely. I had problems with network cards and now have these working by adding pilots in a $OEM$, $1, drivers, network card and record the thought that it might be easy to use the same solution to install the drivers for the SATA controller. How wrong could I be! I'm now pulling my hair out. The machines have the drivers installed in the same way ($ $OEM$ etc.) in a directory marked sata. I used the drivers from the Intel - extracts on floppy disk and copied from there site. Whenever I try to recreate the image, I get the same error "Windows does not detect hard drives" and it drives me crazy! I edited risstnrd.sif, textsetup.oem etc etc nothing works.

I found a link on the German Toshiba site to download the drivers in this situation, but the link is quite slow, I tried to download these drivers now three different places (3 different accounts of ADSL) and each begins at about 36 k per second then decreases until bytes per second and then fails. (It's only a 21 MB file!)

If someone managed to deploy these laptops via RIS? If so can you please let me know how you got it done and what drivers you used?

    Thank you very much

    Hello Mark

I think LAUGH installation complicated theme and I'm really skeptical anyone will be able to help you. If you have time, try using the advanced search and check the RIS results as search terms.

Otherwise, you can create your own recovery DVDs and use it for the installation of the OS. For the recovery procedure, you need 20 minutes.

  • Installation of Satellite Pro A200 to WXP

I work in a computer store and one of our representatives of the supplier, jumped in with a laptop Toshiba, model psae4e-02l017en. He wanted it reloading with XP instead of Vista (who wouldn't?) and we gave the disk supplied with the laptop to remove Vista and put XP. Now, it seems that this drive is simply a compressed image of a hard drive with XP, but without visible in packaging license number. I tried to load the disc. Try to boot from the newly loaded hard drive led to the BSOD, including when tried Safe Mode. This suggests that the image on the CD was incorrect for this laptop somehow (chipset)?

Without any other information and maybe by hearsay, we believed that the license number of Vista Enterprise on the laptop is backward compatible with XP Pro, so we tried to do a "non-destructive reload of windows" or what we call the repair of windows, using the Vista Business license. After downloading the site Web of Toshiba sATA driver, we had it at the point in the installation process where I have an entry permit and he would not accept the key of Vista.

So we have an image of XP that does not work without visible XP license number (so we can not use XP Pro OEM or retail to recharge with) and a laptop that now needs to be charged with something. I would not suggest the L Word when XP is still the best and most supported OS autour.

If, for example, a license sticker XP Pro is in the manual or the packaging for the laptop, or I do something as daft, let me know?

    Thanks much for any reply.

Boyfriend sorry but the Vista OEM key that came with the laptop Toshiba belongs only to the preinstalled Vista. The good work of doesn t wit Win XP or another operating system Vista.

  • 'Common module' missing for XP on Satellite Pro A200

    Hi all

I received my portable computer Pro A200 (PSAE7) Satellite with a Vista operating system.
I made a fresh & clean in this regard XP installation using the Toshiba installation instructions document.
Everything works well except my Fn + F6 Fn + F7 Fn + F8 keys for wireless and screen brightness.

I did some research on the internet and I found this page:

Looks like I need the facility of "common module" Installer to operate access keys.
But the problem is that the 'common' module is not available on the page of the driver for XP...
If I change the Vista operating system type "Value package" is available, but it is not compatible on XP...
I tried to download and install a 'common' module for Satellite Pro A120 model, but I got a "TVALZ" error when installing...

Toshiba support forgot to upload a module 'common' installer of XP for Satellite Pro A200?
    How can I run my Fn + F6 Fn + F7 Fn + F8 keys?

Any help will be really appreciated!
    Thank you

HM, do you already have a BIOS update? I guess you know that you need the Bios XP when installing XP on your machine?
Usually these keys should work since the machine is powered (or explain it better: keys should be available from the BIOS, not OS) which depends on the BIOS, so please update your BIOS to the XP version if it is not already done and give some feedback.

Everyone knows that before and if so please could you point me in the right direction I've been struggling with this for a few days now!

    Hello

You must include the SATA drivers.
The SATA drivers are part of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager, which can be downloaded from the Intel and Toshiba page page.

Here's a nice instruction how to do this:

    Hello akibono

I imagine that you have installed Windows XP Home clean on your laptop and now you want to install all the drivers, tools and utilities. Am I right about that?

In any case, after the installation of Windows XP Home edition you install all the drivers, tools and utilities in the order of the specific facilities. After doing this, everything should be OK and every hardware component will be correctly configured.
Please install all the stuff as follows:
    WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION
    Driver Chipset
    Display driver
    Audio driver
    Driver modem
    Storage Manager
    LAN driver
    Touchpad driver
    WLAN driver
    Toshiba Assist
    Flash Media driver
    Driver webcam
    Hardware configuration
    Controls
    And so on

I hope that everything will be OK.

    Hi Peter,.

Try you to an upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 at the moment? If Yes, please try a new and clean Windows 7 installation. It work?

Another question: your CD/DVD drive works properly or it appears with a yellow exclamation point in Device Manager?
In your case, I would try to remove the drive from Device Manager, then restart the laptop. After that the drive will be recognized automatically.

  • Satellite Pro A200: RIS installation fails - BSOD

    Hello

Someone has already tried to use RIS for laptops Satellite Pro A200 ETA-1 image. I'm getting a BSOD which I think is due to a bad driver (downloaded from the Toshiba site).

Also, can someone tell me where I can find a telephone number for technical support (UK), they seem reluctant to make available on their web site.

    Concerning
    Paul

    Hello

satellite Pro A200 has the controller Intel AHCI-build. It is not included in Windows XP. You will get a bluescreen 0x0000007B proving that XP cannot identify the controller and has no driver for it.
Here is a brief description of how add that driver to your RIS installation:

1 copy all the single files from the Storage Manager Intel ICH - 8 M 32 - Bit floppy in your directory$ $oem $ \Textmode.
If this directory exists you must change your txtsetup.oem file and add/extract the AHCI driver of the file txtsetup.oem of the F6 floppy in it (do not overwrite the txtsetup.oem file in this case!).
If this directory does not exist, you can use the supplied txtsetup.oem file numodified.
Download the floppy F6 Storage Manager here: http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/stormng-20070827133046.zip

    2. change your Winnt.sif file (or what you named your answer file) and add or change the following sections:

    [MassStorageDrivers]
    "Intel(r) 82801HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller (Mobile ICH8M-E/M)" = oem

    [OEMBootFiles]
    iaAhci.cat
    iaAhci.inf
    iastor.cat
    iastor.inf
    iastor.sys
    License.txt
    Readme.txt
    Txtsetup.OEM

  • Slow WLAN connect to the router - Satellite Pro A200

I have a Satellite Pro A200 - after starting the laptop she used to find the router wireless in good time, but now it seems to have slowed on the right and it may take a few minutes until 1/2 hour phone to find the router!

This doesn't seem to be a signal problem because when the router is found that I get a signal strength full 5 bars. Connection to the laptop the router with a cable shows that no problem also that the connection and internet access is no problem.

I do not understand why the laptop won't find the router faster and you would appreciate the help in the understanding of the problem and how to resolve the situation.

I don't have a lot of technical knowledge so please keep in mind when replying

    Hi Potter (maybe Harry?)  ;)

You can easily find what WiFi card has been installed in your laptop.
More details can be found in the *-> network adapters Device Manager *.
Check this out and you'll know what driver WLan is required!

_Regarding the question with your BIOS; _
This error is known to me, always happens if you n t unpack the BIOS package correctly!

What you need is a WinRAR or WinZip program.
I prefer WinRAR and it helps to unpack all of the BIOS update.

    If you use the Vista operating system please check that another thread of forum on the same issue;

  • Satellite Pro A200-PSAE4E - WLan speed falls steadily

    Hello

Anyone know what is causing my laptop to lose wifi on a regular basis? It's a Satellite Pro A200-PSAE4E running on XP. I bought the new laptop in February and it came with Vista loaded but the wifi kept stalling and was Advisor to swap to XP, because it was more stable.

When wifi is filed, the WiFi connection icon disappears completely from the sys tray as if it never existed even if the wifi witness just under the lower edge remains lit. Research in the network connection in Control Panel of the wifi is not listed.
I have to shut down the laptop and restart so that I can continue to work online.

I downloaded the latest driver for the Atheros AR5007EG and I rang Toshiba support.

Someone at - it ideas - I am disappointed by the performance of the WLan.

    Hello

Usually this problem could be solved in BIOS and WLan driver update!
A friend of mine had a similar problem and after that driver WLan will update the WiFi connection is stable.

If you don't have a recovery disk, you can order from Toshiba for the money. Otherwise, you can get copy of Windows and installed with the drivers of Toshiba (http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp)
Then, you mentioned that hard drive has lost half it's memory, tell you if it was ok before but not available? Please check disk management, utility of the Panel. What is shown here?
