Installation of World of Warcraft on Windows 7 problem
I tried to install World of Warcraft on Windows 7 Ultimate. When I put in the CD of the Lich King, it comes up saying, download new installer. I got there at night thinking it would end download. Well, I have nothing. A few times it will freeze and even the CD Burning Crusade will do the same. The CD only I could install is World of Warcraft CD.
Has anyone else been able to install WOW or been able to play the game under windows 7 versions? Is it because of no service pack yet? Anyone has any ideas or information about why the game could have these problems? I would really appreciate it. I love Windows 7 and really don't want to go back and remove the hard drive from my XP.
Hi Jrdenn,
What version of World of Warcraft you trying to install?
Here is the link of the compatibility of Windows 7 which provides information about the versions of World of Warcraft that are compatible with Windows 7.
http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/en-us/default.aspx
If the game is not compatible, you can try to install the game in compatibility mode and check if that helps.
Follow the link given below to install the game in compatibility mode.
Make older programs in this version of Windows
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows
For more information, you can contact the Publisher of the game.
http://us.Blizzard.com/support/
You can also try to copy the content to the hard drive then install add-ins and check what is happening.
Hope this information is useful.

You can try a few things
(1) running WoW repair tool
(2) reinstall the drivers of your graphics (which means uninstalling the software and drivers that exist and then installing the new on the NVidia site - some said it worked)
(3) to make a diagnosis of memory
(4) try to clean the registry (I recommend CCleaner - some people claim it worked too)Sources:

BSOD "dxgmms1.sys" for the game World of Warcraft on Windows 7 Ultimate x 64
Recently, I made a new installation of Windows 7 (delete hard drives/formatting etc.) and installed WoW today with each update of windows, DirectX, c ++ etc. I played for about 4 hours and I got a BSOD. I looked at the dmp with BlueScreenView and it said that dxgmms1.sys was the problem. I don't know what it is or how to fix this so that any help would be appreciated. I have included my dmp file in a link mediafire HERE if someone wants / needs to have another look.
Hello
The attached file of the DMP is to bug checking SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e) .

2 in your list of drivers loaded, dtsoftbus01.sys figure who is the driver for Daemon Tools. Daemon Tools is a very popular cause of BSOD in 7/8 base systems. Please uninstall Daemon Tools. Alternative imaging programs are: MagicISO, Power ISO, etc.
3. make sure you have the latest video card drivers. If you are already on the latest graphics card drivers, uninstall and install a version or a few versions behind the last to make sure this isn't a last number one driver. If you have already experienced with the driver of the card later and earlier versions, please try the driver beta for your card.

installation of expedia streets 98 in windows vista problem
I like expedia streets 98 but cannot be installed in my Dell with windows vista home basic edition. After installing and opening of the mapping program, my computer said I have problems with the Pushpins (there is no reference) and I restarted it following the instructions and still does not download.
My Dell computer is 3 years old. My old computer has XP and it works well with this program of mapping expedia... I love this mapping program.You can't use a program forever in modern operating systems.
http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-Vista/default.aspx
Windows Vista Compatibility Center
First thing to do is to check its Vista compatibility at the link above, and if not to see what patches/solutions are available from its manufacturer...
http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-compatibility-mode/
If this is not Vista compatible, read the info on the link above.
It works for some programs, but not all.This applies to software programs, NOT hardware drivers.
If it's Vista compatible > uninstall it > Re-download/save to your desktop > right click on setup.exe O run as admin.
See you soon.

World of warcraft installation
try to install world of warcraft on my computer toshiba laptop. im not getting an error message, but the prompt to insert the next disc is not coming. If someone could help me I would be grateful.
Hi daddybigmac69,
Installing the game cannot continue due to some reasons such as:
(1) the game files corrupted in DVD
(2) scratches or impure DVD
(3) previous installation of World of Warcraft files on the computer that could not be rewritten.
(4) the safety programs or any other application blocks the installation.Try following these steps and check if it works:
Step 1: Clean the disc Clean the CD or the DVD. To do this, use a disc cleaning kit. Or gently wipe the silver side of the disc with a soft and Lint cotton cloth. Do not use cloth of paper which can scratch the plastic and leave streaks. When you clean the disc, wipe from the center of the disc outward. Do not use a circular motion. If the problem persists, clean the disc with a damp cloth or a commercial CD or DVD cleaning solution. Dry the disc thoroughly until you insert the disc in the drive.
Step 2: Install and then start the program by using a different CD or DVD drive
The CD drive may be unable to read the product CD. Try to install the program by using a different CD or DVD drive on the same computer or on another computer. To do this, follow these steps:
- Insert the CD into the CD or DVD to another computer player or a second CD or DVD drive on the original computer. The installation program should start.
- Click install Express .
- Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to install the program.
If the installation is successful and you can start the game in this test, the problem may be that the original CD drive or the DVD drive cannot read the game CD.
Step 3: Use the Windows Installer CleanUp utility
Download and then install the Microsoft Windows Cleanup utility. To do this, see the Microsoft Web site:
http://download.Microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe (http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe)
Save the file to the desktop. When the download is complete, double-click the file and then follow the directions. When the installation is complete, click Start , point to all programs and then click Windows Installer CleanUp .
In the list of the products installed , delete all entries that are related to the product you have installed wrong. If there are too many entries, click select all , and then click Remove . When you have deleted all entries, click exit , and then start the installation of the product. For more information, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
290301 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/) Description of the Windows Install CleanUp
Step 4: Create a new user account in Windows
(a) if the computer is connected to the Internet
See the section "Create a user account" on assistance in following line of Windows and Support Web site: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/
(b) if the computer is not connected to the Internet
See the topic "Create a user account" in Windows Help and Support on the hard disk of the computer as follows:
- Click Start and then click Help and Support .
- In the search help box or in the Search online help box, type create a user account and then click on Search Help .
- In the list of topics, click on create a user account .
- Click on the link that best describes the problem you are experiencing.
- Follow the suggestions to solve the problem you are experiencing.

Computer just freeze on Windows 7 while playing world of Warcraft.
Ive had this problem for months. I don't know what to do. I double boot Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit. When I play World of Warcraft on Windows 7, after a while the computer hangs and I have to restart. He did it on Vista, but it's been very long since it has. In this case I usually reboot Vista and do not have to worry about this. Ive done virus, defender of the scans, disk defragments, etc..
My specs are
Processor: Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 CPU Quad Q6600 @ 2.40 GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHzMemory: 4000MB RAM DDR2 1066Hard drive: 500 GBVideo card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTXMonitor: Samsung SyncMaster T200HD LCD monitor /TV wide screenSound card: Speakers (Realtek High Definition) AudioSpeakers/headphones: Altec Lansing speekersKeyboard: Mouse: Surface of the mouse: Office wooden flat anti-glareOperating system: Motherboard: ASUS P5KC 1333 MHZ Socket 775 C2DComputer case: Antec 900It seems that the drivers are not ready for Windows 7. Although you may have updated your graphic drivers, I would see if your BIOS motherboard, your device sound and other peripheral devices (mouse, keyboard, etc.) have updated drivers. A lot is written with the current operating system in mind. Windows 7 is very recent (not yet public) and that you still have hardware that is not yet ready to support it properly.
It should be better that the public release comes out and more people have similar problems, where the hardware manufacturers are forced to produce better drivers.

System crashes, requires the difficult start run World Of Warcraft Win 7 64 bit
* Edited for completion 10/29/09
When I run World of Warcraft, my system will lock up and require a difficult start. Sometimes this will happen after only a few minutes, sometimes it will take 1 to 2 hours, but it will always be the case.That's what I've done so far:
I have a clean install of Win 7 64 bit, I have a new installation of the software of the game (World of Warcraft), I have a problem after a clean boot, I have all the latest drivers, tried older drivers, used a driver Sweeper and installed the latest drivers... in short, I did everything what I can do , and I did a lot of research to try to find a solution. * I also tried different compatibility modes, ran the program as an administrator, and ran the program in windowed mode, as well as various combitation of preceding.

I am also under Windows 7 64-bit and WoW. I've not seen any problems with him myself. Have you had this problem in any other place, or is it just for WoW? You run the game to what resolution\level of detail? Are the vents on your own PC and fans are you running properly?This is so a few things to try.
If you only see this in WoW, you play other games? If you do not really play anything else (except perhaps lonely like me) then go download a demo of a graphics intense game. Something like Crysis or Batman Arkham Asylum (just a few suggestions), just try something that will be your tax system. Then run this demo for a while and see what happens. If it crashes with another game then I suggest that consider you the possibility of your system overheating. If it crashes with another game, then remove the computer cover and blow a fan at home if possible.If the lock upwards continues to happen only in WoW then you need to check with their support to see if they are aware of this situation.

World of Warcraft modules works only with Windows 7
My computer is HP Pavilion and new. There is no windows 7 when I bought it and I just download windows 7. Prior to Windows 7, I downloaded the game had no problem. I look around for more information on how to solve the problem, I find that I am more confused. I talked to HP and they were no help and offered to pay one of their people to solve my problem, although I still have a 2-year warranty left. I find instructions provided in most of the cases are intended for people with great knowledge in computer science. Most of the people who hold them are not the well informed! I contacted Blizzard and they are not aware of any problems at the moment.

On the game World of Warcraft, I can't use files Add on, after I downloaded windows 7 on my Vista 64 computer. I have another computer and addons are working very well. They appear to be locked or not accessible. How can I fix it.Hi Dennis424,
Welcome to the Microsoft answers site.
· What happens when you try to use the add-on?
This could be a problem if the corrupt modules are installed on the computer, I suggest you uninstall the Add-ons on the computer and reinstall the Add-ons and check.
If the problem persists, then I suggest that you uninstall the game World of Warcraft and perform the new installation of the game and check.

Original title: runtime library
When you install the game World of warcraft it installs ok but the problem comes when the patch is installed, when it is 99% done windows gives me an error message
Microsoft visual c ++ runtime library then said he has encountered an error and must terminate the program, I never had this problem when I put the game on my HARD lecteur2 replaced because he was going to die on me
My operating system is Windows Vista SP2
Help me please if you can
Thank you much xx
Hi Hopson81,
Try to install the patch by starting the computer in selective startup mode (also known as a clean boot state).
Start your computer in a clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.
For instructions, see How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 .
Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

I am trying to download the demo version of 'WoW' World of Warcraft. I get to the part where he is configing its parameters to my computer and get a runtime error that something caused my program is complete. I read the other posts which had similar problems so I ran sfc/scannow in the command prompt window. It reads... Resources Windows Protection found corrupt files but was not able to fix some. Details are provided in the CBS.log newspaper. I've shortened, but it is easy to understand that there is a question that the scan will not fix. I tried to access the CBS.log newspaper and opened a text doc, that was a bunch of YYYYYYYYY. I'm a little lost here and my 10 free WoW trial days is weathering away without me =)
Please help, thanks
Borrow a Microsoft Vista DVD(not Dell, HP, etc Recovery DVDs) to do a repair installation
If you see a startup Neosmart repair disk download here, this is NOT what you want.
You want a good Vista DVD that contains the operating system files.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you need a recovery media for your laptop back to factory settings, read this info:
How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.
There is no Vista free download legal available.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
They will tell you how to do this.
Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

Hi I have a problem when I go in the world of warcraft after 30 seconds later, I get disconnected not only Wow, but on the internet and I can't understand why does. So what I did was to look on the fourms to warcraft and couldn't find a solution to my problem, so I tried to combine my local connection and my wireless connection make jumper but I get a message saying "an unexpected error occurred while configuring the network bridge." I use a wireless router but I do not have a cause of Wired internet cables will not reach my room. the router I use is NEXT Max range model Netgear Wireless-N Router WNR834B v2 and the usb adapter that I use for this router is brought Max NEXT Wireless USB Adapter WN121T. I recently received this new hp computer which has windows 7 64-bit on it and I really want to play because of wow I just put a sheet in): anyway hope to hear from someone
Sounds like it might be related to the same problem I have, the two thing I did her seemed to help was to disable ipv6 (click the icon at the bottom right of your screen network, click on "Network and sharing Center", then click on LAN or wireless network, you must do two of them IMO. Once you have done this, click 'Properties', then click to clear the check in the box for "Internet Protocol version 6" and then select "internet protocol version 4", and click Properties. " Then click on the button "Advanced". Once you have done that click on the tab "wins" and below, it will be 'net bios settings' and click on one to disable.

I recently upgraded to Windows 7 and found that World of Warcraft did not work on it. I uninstalled it, tried to reinstall, but now, everytime I try, I get this error message:

World of Warcraft play do well with Windows 7?
Hi, I had problems with lag with World of Warcraft since the upgrade to win7 about two weeks ago. My latency time increased from 180-250 to 350-700 normal. I tried the registry TcpAckFrequency and TCPNoDelay changes, compatibility modes, hardware acceleration and messing around with on anything ending with Checksum in the properties of the device (in accordance with a recommendation on the EU WoW forum), and I have not seen any improvements at all. I know this isn't my ISP, because I had to move last week and am in a different field, but with the same ISP. It seems to be just a game, that I've had no problems with Counterstrike or Team Fortress 2. Is there something I can do another that grit my teeth and deal with it? I have no other options for an ISP here in the Bush, and I'm not ready to downgrade to XP just to do this, even though I'm a bit addicted to it.
Here's a DxDiag to my computer, I forgot to post last night.
