Satellite Pro P200 - 17 c: Win XP won't load - installation of the SATA driver
Hello
I have a satellite pro p200 - 17 c I've had good years, allways worked without any problem.
Last week when I booted the laptop, windows won't load and I find myself safe mode selection screen. No options whatsoever me to windows loading, I tried F8 and still nothing.
I tried the restore cd that reimagee the drive but I get the same thing, I tried a new hard drive, once again the same.
But if I try to load windows from an OEM to install that software does not because it is a sata drive and there is no floppy drive. I have an external floppy drive I use, but it is not known now.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Hello
Go to BIOS and set it to default settings.
In this case the SATA mode must be on AHCI. In this case the SATA drivers are required to install the Windows operating system. But as much as I know that Windows 7 already contains the SATA drivers if usually you don t had to add SATA drivers while OS installation the installation program.
However, here is a nice HowTo document that helps you add SATA drivers for Win XP installation disc.

Hello
I'm trying to set up a dual-boot XPpro on my Vista machine. I found the instructions detailed at various locations. I prepared a score of 30G on my SATA drive and booted from my XPpro and XPpro (SP2) retail drives. The score is quite small because I have only use for some applications.
I have the following problem and I wonder if anyone can help. The disk and partition is by my SP2 disc, but it's ok that BONE is not used on any other machine.
I can choose the new partition as the location for the new installation of XP.
Installation gets to the point where the first reboot is required, then at startup, I'm stuck on the option 'press any key to boot from the CD-ROM. I assume that the reader is not detected. If I try to start from scratch, I get the warning that the new partition already has an operating system on it, but I can reformat and move forward, then arrive at the startup problem re.
There is no XP drivers for my Board, but I can not install them because they are on CD and the only option to load the specific drivers in the first part of install required has a diskette is in the drive, and of course I don't have a floppy drive.
I then use the Startup Repair in Vista I can't move to the stage where XP is installed in fact correctly.
Any help very welcome!
Paul
Hello
I made a disc of slipstream with nLite as suggested, my sata drivers included but still could not circumvent this problem. Installation kept insisting that they had to come from A:
Rather than taking the box to bits I read from the link posted by Michael Murphy, once again and found the answer of Taydius on 250/1 posts.
http://www.syschat.com/dual-boot-Vista-XP-Vista-already-26-1946.html
Problem solved by installing EasyBCD in Vista, it points to the new partition with the inaccessible XP and reboot and selection, installation on board as usual.
Dual boot now works fine.
Thanks for the help!

Hi, my Dell Studio Hybrid desktop is hang on installation (new installation on a formatted hard drive) from Vista to the installation step ends. After much research it seems that it is a matter of pre Vista SP1 associated with SATA drive/drivers. Installation crashes because the computer is looking for a driver on the CD-ROM that is not there. Anyway I don't see a driver relavent in the cross-section of the hybrid (another computer have drivers under the SATA drives) and if I did I don't know when to add it (load the section of the driver during the installation process?). Any help on this topic and how to proceed with the installation of vista would be much appreciated since I just lost my weekend to this.
Hello
You are right that there is no drivers sata on your computer because you don't have that one hard drive go in the bios as described here .and put AHCI to IDE
Integrated Peripherals
Allows you to enable or disable these integrated devices: HD Audio, Onboard LAN connector, Onboard LAN Boot ROMand side logo. Serial ATA Configuration can be set in IDE or AHCI mode.
then install your version of windows you should have no problem now.
Good luck

Hello
I have an E521 with 2 GB of Ram and X 2 processor. I want to install Windows 7 on a record nine of ST500DM002 (= native 4K advanced format). It will work without hassle, or will I have to install a SATA driver during installation? If Yes, which? I can't find the necessary information for the main card.
Thank you, Andre
Hi Andre,
As you would expect, you will need the Windows 7 drivers RAID so that the installer of Windows recognize the drive. Our buddy rdunnill forum explains how to do this HERE. He included a link to NVIDIA support site where you can download the driver.

HP Pavilion 17-g101nu: installation of Win7 Hard Drives NOT FOUND
I just bought a new HP Pavilion 17-g101nu and tried to install Win7 on USB.
During installation, there is no drive to sellect as when the operating system must be installed.
What can I do?
I found people on the use of the internet a sort of burnt laptop drivers CD and then install them while on the process of installation of the window. Who will also work?
I have also not found any settings in the BIOS on the formats of SATA and so on.
I thank the of for playback.
(I have no idea if this is the right place to ask, but just bought this laptop with only of BACK).
Hello:
First you must make sure that you have entered in the BIOS and enabled legacy mode that must disable secure boot.
Then see if the response marked resolved in the link below allows you to install W7 from your USB key.
Your laptop is the same chipset and the 6th series of processor gen like the one referenced in the message.

Installation integrated AMD SATA drivers
Hello!
A few days ago I wanted to dual boot Windows 7 with Windows XP. Unfortunately, during the installation of Windows XP, I got a BSoD 0x0000007B. After searching for an answer on the Internet I found this guide.
According to the instructions, I tried to use 32bit_ATI_SB7xx_RAID & AHCI_driver_v9-4_WHQL and sp43839 SATA drivers. Unfortunately, the link provided for the first driver was broken if I slipstreamed only sp43839 SATA driver. The BSoD appeared again.
Of this guide, I also tried the first AMD SATA AHCI Controller driver. That one did not, either.
I'm trying to find another SATA driver.

I'm trying to move from xp to windows 7. I spent all the requirement but she says to install the device driver required to access your hard drive, insert the installation media containing the driver files and then click OK. "what should I do? Where can I find the driver?
Guess he would seek software/drivers for the chipset MB
& sata/IDE controller software. Get the MB hardware specifications, go to the mfg
Web site & download the software and drivers. If intel, download the chipset installation
utility & install it 1. The other would be the SATA or / and drivers for the MB IDE
controllers, 'Matrix Storage console' would be the one, also chk for desktop
Internet downloads, amd, and other brand materials would be substantially the same.

installation of the SATA for XP 8560p
I have a 8560 with Windows 7 installed. I want to replace the drive (same type of SATA drive) with one another and install XP Pro.
I read the posts earlier say collect information of the Windows 7 install and I should be able to change the Bios IDE mode, install XP without using the F6 driver load and install the drivers after installing XP. I don't have a USB floppy drive so I thought I might be able to use a USB but the F6 prompt is looking for a drive A: and he doesn't so I went with the installation of the SATA drivers after installing XP.
In WIndows 7 Device manager it says the ide ata/atapi controller's (R) Mobile Express Chipset Sata ahci controller.
With BIOS change IDE, I was able to install XP Pro SP2.
The drive is detected as F: drive for some reason any.
I installed SP3 service pack. I also installed various HP drivers for networking, display etc.
When I go into the Device Manager it shows ide ata/atapi-controller.
6 Intel series/C200 Series Chipset Family 2 Serial ATA Storage Controller - 1 09 port
6 Intel series/C200 Series Chipset Family 4 Serial ATA Storage Controller - 1 01 port
It only shows the R) Mobile Express Chipset Sata ahci controller.
If I reboot and change the SATA BIOS I get a blue screen on startup of XP to load. Can only run as IDE.
Don't know where to go from here.
Someone help?

The first will be not install because, guess what, he automatically wants to install in C: (no choice) which I did not. So there is a reason to reinstall.
Second, it worked very well.

XPS 8500 additional SATA Drive add...cable/power questions
Nothing on sites Web of Dell (after two hours of seraching, including a chat with a Dell representative session) on how to add a hard drive from a dell computer. I'm simply confused (this happens regularly) it is difficult to find, or you really need to add a simple video on how to add an extra SATA (how many times people do that?).
No info on cables, power supplies, how many readers you can add, etc.
So this is the kind of thing I need... Thank you! How do I add a SATA, which cable does, esp if the slots for the cables are already taken by the BluRay player... can get a cable SATA outputs multiple?
Thanks for your help.
Rick Bauer
Colorado_RBauerThanks, Bev... screw seems to be the only parts I have.
I am therefore reason to believe that I can put only two disks sata in this 8500, right? and we're already here, so I can really only add one, correct?
Where are you going to get the good SATA cable?
the manual referenced does not something specific on SATA wiring part I looked. Should not be too much of a pest, but do you have a specific reference.
Rick
Colorado_RBauerRick,Yes, you can add an additional hard disk, the disk hard primary exsisting. to add several internal hard drives, you need an open 3.5"/5.25" bay and to install more than four SATA drives, SATA PCIe x 1 expansion card would be necessary. You should be able to buy a SATA data cable in a store of the local computer, or www.newegg.com for more details, go here,Better to use a local store to save the S & HSorry to say, that the manual is the only reference that Dell has released, as most newer Dell manuals, missing many details.Install the secondary hard drive is usually relatively in line forward, you must connect the data cable to a SATA connector on the motherboard, and after installation checking the installation process, to see if the drive is recognized. If the drive is recognized in the installation program for Windows to recognize the second hard drive, it must be patitioned, formatted and received a drive letter using disk Windows 7 Manager.Bev. -
Windows 7 does not see SATA drive
I just upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 and now cannot access the SATA drive that I use for storage. I desperately need help to access this drive.
Any help will be appreciated.
I've seen suggestions on the use of upgrade instead of the custom installation, but upgrade XP to 7 is not available.
It doesn't matter anymore that I managed to blow a capacitor on the motherboard and had to replace the guts of the machine. The new motherboard had no problem see the SATA drive. Of course, he can't see that the IDE drives so I traded one problem for another.
With all this, I made a whole new computer, which I'm sure that will soon show it's own set of problems.
Thanks for the help. And you can mark this resolved.

Win 7 IDE SATA drives indicated as ejection
Hi - I have a Gigabyte H61M mobo with CPU Intel Core I5-2400 and two hard drives from Western Digital WD5000AZRX-00A8LB0.
Boredom is that readers will always appear in the tool ' safely remove hardware and eject Media. Several messages say it's normal for the AHCI SATA disks, but mine seem to be IDE SATA: in Device Manager > properties > details > hardware ID they list as:
- IDE\DiskWDC_WD5000AZRX - 00A8LB0___01.01 A 01
- IDE\WDC_WD5000AZRX - 00A8LB0___01.01 A 01
- IDE\DiskWDC_WD5000AZRX-00A8LB0___
- WDC_WD5000AZRX - 00A8LB0___01.01 A 01
- GenDisk
This post gives a registry hack to deal with drives as internal ports, but at the moment I'm confused - are all SATA drives that are considered "ejection"?
Gordon.
I have a second computer that shows that also removable SATA drives and Yes, it would be quite easy to accidentally delete the wrong drive. That said, installation of 'remove' will not be released a disc which he sees as "in use", so it is more difficult to make the error that inclusion in the list 'remove' may suggest it...

HP Pavilion DV7-1212TX laptop Downgrade Vista to Windows XP? SATA driver
Hello
I want to downgrade this machine because some programs does not work under Vista and it will cost you $$$ to upgrade.
The problem seems to be that I can't find the right SATA driver to use.
When I use a WinXP disk, it gives me a blue screen of death.
I downloaded an update Intel driver pack, integrated in the WinXP installation CD and still have the same screen of death.
I tried to load Windows XP on a CD (the whole OS on a bootable CD)... and crashed too.
I think that the drivers I have are too old... but until I know the exact chipset I probably won't understand what I need to install.
It seems to be no comprehensive manual of the computer, so there seems to be no list of chipsets.
I had a bit of info from the Vista system... Device Manager but not a full number of chipset.
Is that what someone has successfully installed WinXP on one of them?
Can anyone make some suggestions?
Is there an easier way to get around this?
:-)
Hello
First make Vista beckup. Information how to do it here.
Now you need to integrate your drivers Sata (only ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller) with nLite.
Here is the guide to how do and here are the drivers Sata for you and here are the Sata drivers from your. Just unRAR it drivers with winrar.
Remember, also, that you use the Windows XP SP2 version. If you have not got the version SP2 here you can download this service pack
and here you guide how to integrate this file with your new system of nLite.
In this program, you can even burn your new XP cd with this driver.
