Installation of XP SP3 without internet availability.

I'm trying to install Xp service pack 3. The PC currently has service pack 0. I have no internet availability. Service Pack3 wants to install service pack 2 or service pack 1. How can I get the service pack 1 or 2 to install on the PC? I downloaded service pack 1 from the site on a memory stick, but the installation wants to connect to the internet. Is there a version of service pack 1A that does not need to connect to the internet?

Thank you.

How TO get a computer that is running Windows XP Gold (no Service Pack) fully patched
http://groups.Google.com/group/Microsoft.public.windowsupdate/MSG/3f5afa8ed33e121c

Tip: After getting the computer fully patched, download/install KB971029 manually: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971029

Note: Extended Support for WinXP (x 86) SP2 ends July 13, 2010. After this date, computers that run Windows XP SP2 will NOT be offered additional security updates critical (x 86), automatic updates do not work, and Windows Update Web site is not accessible until SP3 is installed.

Does that mean if my version of Windows is no longer supported?

    Hi Paul,.

    Welcome to the community!

    Certainly, you can download the files on another computer and install on a computer without internet, but you must connect to the internet once a month so that we can charge your credit card.

    The option to connect to the internet with phone will work however updates must be downloaded via internet, like the size might be in the UK.

  • Tecra M5 - new installation of XP SP3 - no sound

    I performed a clean installation of XP SP3 on a Tecra M5, downloaded all the drivers from the Toshiba support site, installed in order (according to the install.txt) and that all work sound bar.

    I tried the two drivers available on the download site, both give the same result - windows is pleased and says everything works fine, but still no sound. I tried the (mute) key and its appears under the name now. Volume (on windows) is complete with all other controls. All controls are NOT dumb. I also tried the handwheel of volume at the two extremes, still no sound.

    I looked on the internet and found other users having problems with the sigmatel and XP SP3 drivers. But have not been able to find the right ones for this model. The machine is a Tecra M5 (PTM50E).

    Someone at - it ideas? A download of a compatible driver SP3 would be good.

    See you soon.

    Yes. Remove SP3 and use SP2 supported. I checked the facilities list for this model of laptop and on the first place is classified - Windows XP Professional SP2 ServicePack2.

    I don't know that the drivers on the Toshiba download page are the same drivers as in the recovery image. This means that they are probably not tested with SP3. To be honest, I always use SP2 and I'm happy with it.

  • I can't update my xp reloaded pro SP3 without having 1A that I can't find anywhere

    I tried to find SP1a on internet but end up still at Ms Download Center and be as MS support more less XP pro SP3 with their server does not how to get around this problem?

    SP1a is not absolutely necessary.

    There is more than one path of Gold (SP0) XP to SP3:

    1 SP or---> SP1 or SP1a---> SP3

    or

    2 MS gold---> SP2---> SP3

    Unfortunately, you cannot get MS gold straight to SP3. Must be at least an intermediate step. You can also go to SP gold to SP1 to SP2 to SP3, but it is an unnecessary extra step.

    SP1 and SP1a are nearly identical. SP1 has been replaced by SP1a long for reasons of copyright related Java Sun Java virtual machine. But if you have a CD of SP1, it will most certainly work. As a matter of fact, if your Windows XP installation CD at the SP1 level, it is unnecessary to SP1a before doing anything else. You can immediately go to SP1 SP3 without any problem at all.

    Here are the links for the packages of SP:

    Service Pack 1 has

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=19751

    Service Pack 2

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=28

    Service Pack 3

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=24

    To make life easier, copy and paste the above text so that you always have these handy links. It is possible that if you click on them now (while it is connected on the Windows answers Portal), they do not work.

    Yet once, you might as well just download SP2 and SP3. SP1a is not really necessary. (But I do not understand the link anyway).

  • Installation of XP/SP3 / requests sfc/scannow command

    I have a genuine copy of XP SP3 installed on my computer (performed by a computer technician), but previously, I don't have an XP installation CD and I didn't know the details of the product key.

    I managed to get the 25 product key - Belarc figure both Magical Jelly Bean (!) Detectors of key Windows gave me exactly the same code.

    I also managed to get a XP SP2 installation CD authentic with COA + keys used - haven't seen any ones SP3 and Microsoft is no longer distribute a XP software. It says distribution only with a new PC - is this correct?

    Will be a computer technician can reinstall XP SP3 using the this and updated - SP3 will still be available for download now that support has ended for XP?

    In addition, you kindly confirm that this CD that will allow me to make the sfc/scannow command. ; When I tried to asked me repeatedly for the XP installation CD.

    This CD SP2 / SP3 computer difference leaves me unsure.

    A modern operating system would be better I know, but I'm not able to get a new computer at the moment.

    Your CD of XP sp2 is an "OEM" version rather than a retail version, but if you have the correct key, it works perfectly.  The problem with OEM installations, is that they are linked to the computer on which they were first installed... then once installed, it cannot be installed on another computer (and replace the motherboard is considered as "another computer").

    Service Pack 3 is available for download and will continue to be available in the foreseeable future.  If you have a new installation using the SP2 CD, download you the sp3 and install it manually (you must have sp3 before Windows Update will strive to give you the post-sp3 updates).

    That said, it is easy to create an installation cd of sp3 by a process called "slipstreaming".  You can do it yourself, but any competent computer technology needs to know how to do it.  See http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/slipstreaming-windows-xp-to-create-bootable-cd/

    You can even create an installation CD which includes sp3 as well as all the critical updates that came after sp3.  See http://xdot.tk/

    There are a few caveats to keep in mind before installing sp3:

    Before installing sp3, read this article--> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950717

    If your PC is a HP Pavilion and Presario Media Center and has an AMD processor, this hotfix must be installed before installing sp3-->

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?CC=UK&LC=en&DLC=en&softwareitem=PV-60484-2

    Install SP3 for download--> http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=24

    ignore the text which says that it is for network installations and also ignore the text informing Windows/Microsoft Update If a single update of a PC.

    Regarding the use of sfc/scannow command which will require an installation CD is the same service pack that is installed on the computer, BUT using sfc/scannow almost certainly NOT help you in any difficulty that you are likely to encounter.  Despite the many Web sites that you can see who is advised to use this command, simply is not what people think than that, at least for XP.

  • Press on install without Internet connection

    Hello

    I have several questions:

    1. are there when even make install without internet connection? Our prospect want to protect their laptop without interruption to the user (distance to the laptop to install the agent, etc.). What are our options?

    2. If we do the silent installation, if missing the dotNet machine is also installing dotNet also silently? What about the reboot? It automatically restarts the computer after installation of dotNet? What happens if we use the reboot argument to prevent the restart, means after installing dotNet machine restarts?

    1. Yes.

    -You need to download the full of support.software.dell.com/.../download-new-releases agent installation program (make sure you get the 32 or 64 bits depending on the operating system you want to install on.

    -Copy in C:\Program Files\AppRecovery\Core\Installers on database server

    -In this path and rename the current Agent - Web.exe a different name.

    -Then rename the agent installation program you downloaded to be Agent - Web.exe.

    Now, when you run a bulk deploy it will use the program to complete agent installation and will not have to download components from the internet.   Once you have finished, rename the files back so that the file Agent - real Web.exe is one that will be used then.  Otherwise, you will need to make sure you always have the correct agent Installer for which machine you are deploying.

    2 .NET must install in silent mode.  A reboot will be required, and it automatically restarts the computer after the installation of the agent.  If you use the restart argument to stop a reboot, you should not restart the machine.  In this case, you will need to restart the machine manually before you can protect the officer.

    Thank you
