Installed the patch for MAC Java yesterday and immediately couldn't get adobe reader to view pdf files... have troubleshoot-done and can't seem to fix it... any ideas?

  2. right click on the update you want to hide
  3. click on hide the update
  4. confirm the UAC if necessary

  First of all, I'm technologically challenged.  Somehow disappeard Adobe Reader from my computer and I could no longer save pdf files or open the files I had already saved.  I think that I tried to open it in Word - that didn't work.  I have re-charge Adobe Reader and can now open the pdf files and record new ones, but only from within the Adobe Reader program.  All files have a Word icon to the left of the name of the file, but a .pdf extension.  Help!

  NO MATTER WHICH VERSION OF WINDOWS YOU ARE USING:

  Right click on one of the PDF files with the Word icon.

  Select "Properties".

  Where it says "Open with" there is a button to change the word to Adobe Reader, which should be in the list of available programs that opens.

  Choose the drive and click APPLY before clicking OK.

  Which will change all files PDF Reader as the default application.
