Installed Windows Vista Basic instead of Home Premium and now my product key will not work. What can I do?
I have purchases product code for Vista Home Premium. I couldn't find the disk, so I installed Vista Basic. Microsoft does not authorize the premium code to record the "basic" program How can I get the two to work together on my machine? MS will not let me get the program of upgrading without registering to the basic version... and on, and it will.
Hello
Microsoft is correct; you need the correct product key for each specific edition of Vista.
These information from Microsoft about replacing lost software should help you:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246
Then you can install it properly.
See you soon.
PS If you use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista must be installed. The product key determines which Edition is installed.
Builders recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as well as 32-bit and 64-bit editions different DVD lights.

I reinstalled my windows vista.made a clean install removed windows xp sp3 when I try to activate my windows vista Home Basic sp1 it say not validates the code supplied with the disc, the code is below my laptop and the cd is in the package with my laptop, I used the key once when I re-installed my operating system once and it worked perfectly
If you get this message before you try to turn it on, it means generally that you must not read or wrong entered the key.
Use a magnifying glass and a bright light to read the key (or ask someone else to read it for you)

I see from my records that a similar case has been solved by uninstalling and reinstalling the update WAT - KB971033
Open the Windows Update - click the link view updates installed on the left of the page
in the list, find the WAT update KB971033, and then uninstall it.
Then restart and reinstall the update from here - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971033
redemarrer restart again, then try to change your product key to the one on the sticker - what is happening this time?

New Windows 7 Professional program is not working nd that product key will not work.
Windows 7 (trial version) program has been installed on my laptop ACER One. Passes to the Home Premium account in 2010. Recently, it is impossible to use Word documents or to modify existing files; box popped up that the test program has been exceeded and when I tried to enter the product key, it was not accepted. Today, I bought an upgrade to Windows 7 Professional. However, always receives the same message and the new product key does not either. Am I missing a step to activate the new program? I got the message that it has been installed successfully.
Please note that if you use the Windows 7 product key located on the certificate of authenticity attached to your system label, this will not work, it is only for Windows 7. You need a product key Office 2010.
If your computer comes with a trial version of Office, you need to get a trial key or buy a full license:
Trial license:
http://Office.Microsoft.com/en-us/try/
Full license:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/823570
Get the key;

If you purchased Office 2010 and get no valid product key error to refer the article mentioned below:

If you have a trial version of Office 2010 that came with your computer, try to uninstall it first:
Run the patch tool mentioned in the article below to uninstall Office 2010:

Download a trial version of Office 2010 that corresponds with the edition that you purchased and convert it to a version full:

Reinstalled Windows 7 but Windows office product key will not work
I kept getting a blue screen and computer kept stopping and restarting. Done all updates day and driver updates, but nothing has worked. So I decided to do the HP recovery and do a complete reinstall of Windows 7 and everything works well so far.
When I went to reactivate Windows Office Professional product key did not work. How can I get the key to work? Went on the Windows website and connected, but said it had no products for me. Can someone tell me another way? Not sure if I have a disk to reinstall.
Jason
You will need to find the license activation key, otherwise you will not have the version of Microsoft Office Pro.

My activation key # does not work. It came with a disk and key * removed product key *. I just checked, and Microsoft said it has been used. Could you send me a key # likely to work or simply to activate my vISTA HOME PREMIUM 32

You use telephone activation

This HP model is: Pavilion a530e. It crashed and the original CD is not on this earth. I installed a generic copy of Windows XP Edition family (the same as the original OS, but different SP level). I left the empty product key because it would not of him who is on the side of the CPU! How to fix this? I have access to the internet and to do automatic updates, but the Microsoft Authentication in Windows Update Web site has not been made. Help, please!
The OEM key on the side of your Tower will not work with the XP cd to retail. You need a manufacturer OEM copy such as comes with some Dell, gateway machines.
You can get the recovery disks that don't require any key to activate it. HP can carry is no longer, but they are available here. Just put your model number in the search:

I had to reinstall Windows Xp Pro, the product key will not work.
I have not changed any hardware or anything like that. I downloaded the updates of msupdates and my computer went the fritz would not do anything. I reinstalled windows xp pro from the restore disc that came with my computer. The product key is not accepted by windows to activate it. I need to know what to do. It's a Dell optiplex 2.8 gig Board and proc 2 gig of ram. Anyway when I bought.
Hi, I am assuming that you are unable to activate your XP via internet, you can try the phone holder to turn on.
You will be asked of the remote computer to give the support page for phone numbers.
You will then receive a new set of numbers to activate your XP.
If this does not work, you will be directed to a Microsoft employee. Explain your problem and if they are happy with your answer will give you an activation key.
