Installer Clean up utility

Hello

I'm trying to remove an I have version 9.1 Tunes from Add and remove programs because when I tried to update it kept popping up a window that says it cannot find a path or a folder named itunes.msi and I cannot load the new update or delete the application addition and delete. I was told that I need a 'Windows Install CleanUp'. I'm hoping for some guidance

Thank you

Al

Microsoft removed the Windows Installer Cleanup utility, because apparently there were some cases where things were deleted which shouldn't have been deleted (see below).  If you're ready to take a chance (and I would like to, regarding a problem with iTunes), you can always download from MajorGeeks .

This article previously contained a link to the utility Windows Installer Cleanup (MSICUU2.exe). If you have been directed to this article to solve a problem in one product other than Microsoft Office installation, please contact your software manufacturer for installation on the product.

While the utility Windows Installer Cleanup fixed some installation issues, it sometimes damaged other components installed on the computer. For this reason, the tool has been removed from Microsoft Download Center.

  • Cannot install Installer Clean-Up Utility. Help!

My OS is Vista Home Premium, Version 6.0 (Build 6002: Service Pack 2), 64-bit.  I have two facilities that have failed; Roxio Creator 10 Pro and Adobe CS4 Master collection.  All Adobe and Roxio solutions to solve my problems to facilities have me using the cleaning utility to install, but whenever I go to install it, I get the error message "cannot find script engine 'VBScript script for'... '. (StartMsi.vbs).

I only did research or none to this end, almost 2 weeks now.  I tried the following: in the start menu, run, I typed 'regsvr32% systemroot%\system32\vbscript.dll' and received the confirmation message "DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll succeeded."  I even made from an elevated command prompt window and had the same results.  Also, I ran the command «regsvr32 scrrun.dll»  With all this being done, cleaning utility to install still will not work.

Someone at - it solutions to relieve my frustrations?  Thank you!

    Hello kmhoffman,

Thanks for posting of Microsoft answers Forum.

According to the Windows Vista Compatibility Center lists Roxio Creator 10 Pro and Adobe CS4 Master Collection compatible with Windows Vista.

For error message "cannot find engine of script 'VBScript script for'... '. (StartMsi.vbs), this happens if the script runtime vbscript.dll file is not properly registered in the system.

To resolve this problem, use the following steps:

    Click Start, run and type:

    regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\vbscript.dll

If the registration was successful, you should now see the following message is displayed:

    DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll successful.

Now, try to install the Windows Installer Cleanup utility. You can download the utility from here.
You should now be able to install the utility and to get rid of the corrupt files and trying to install Roxio and Adobe CS4.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello kate9,

Utility Windows Installer Cleanup was fired by Microsoft as it may damage other components.
I recommend that you use a 3rd software remove part or uninstall the utility to remove iTunes.

Once removed, then run the SFC/scannow Ajay suggested. If no problem found, you can then try reinstalling iTunes.

Please answer back with an update on your status.

  • Installation clean P580 Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit - cannot install driver Intel WiFi correctly

Driver installation went well after a clean install. I was not aware of any special settings or any need to install some drivers in the order. So maybe I did not just something.

I noticed that there was no WiFi service. I have downloaded and run the file 0zwl03ww.exe, which is listed as driver WiFi Intel for Win 7 32/64. I got a message saying that something could have trouble with the installation. So I chose rerun. Asked me if I wanted to replace an existing file. I said "Yes to all". The result was a message saying "access denied." Later, there was still no WiFi and no WiFi service pilot shown in Device Manager.

I restarted the PC, hoping it would help. Still no WiFi and no shown in Device Manager.

I looked at the folder C:\Drivers containing the driver files and subdirectories. I removed those and tried to delete the folder. I didn't have the right to do. I checked the security settings on the folder and showed a red X with a message saying that the security settings are not available.

When I try to reinstall the driver, I get the same results reported (files to be replaced), but no files are displayed in Windows Explorer in this folder.

I tried to restore the original file to the Recycle Bin. Restoration happened, but now the files are gone.

There is another pilot provided for Liteon & CyberTan; This doesn't seem to be the right driver.

If the PC is running, LAN, internet cable OK - but I'm stuck with no WiFi. Can anyone help? Thank you!

I found and ran a setup.exe for Win7 inside the extracted folder. I went through the typical installation of choice routine and told me "The Intel ProSet Wireless WLAN software Setup Wizard ended prematurely" with no further explanation given.

  • Upgrade Windows 10 + installation clean + new SSD

    Hello

My situation is that I have windows 7 Home premium OEM installed and running on a hard drive of my laptop.

My windows 10 upgrade is ready to run. (Probably, it does not matter, but I have already improved

front and rear devulcanization to windows 7).

I intend to buy a new SSD and want to end up with a clean windows 10 install on the SSD and use

my current hard drive as secondary storage.

I've read other questions on this matter, but sometimes the answers that you have upgraded to windows 10

on the old hard drive first, and then perform a clean installation on the SSD, and sometimes I read that

you need to install windows 7 on SSD first and then upgrade to windows 10 from there.

So which of these two options should I choose?

    Thanks in advance, Gilles

    Hi Gilles,.

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

According to the description, you intend to buy a new SSD and want to perform a clean installation of Windows 10 on it.

    Certainly, I understand your concern.

I want to provide you with the information that you must first buy the new SSD. Then install Windows 7 on it, activate it, and then upgrade to Windows 10.

And even if you want to perform a new installation of Windows 10, you can do it.

Please refer to the article below:

  • BSOD 0xc000021a on an installation clean, never started [SOLVED]

This error worked me to the end. It happened on two separate mothers. I recently bought a new mother/processor board. As my old version of Windows OEM, I couldn't upload it. I decided to buy Windows Pro 8.1 due to the student rather than go for Windows 7 discount. While I was waiting for my mother to come card, I decided to install it on my HDD-spare, so that I could make it out of the way. I tried the upgrade to version and got 0xc000021a, but then I discovered this is a common mistake for upgrades. So, when my mother came today, I decided to do a clean rather than upgrade install. This value returned, once again, on TWO motherboards 0xc000021a (the first was a Dell Inspiron, my new card mother Gigabyte Z97). Hard disks have changed the motherboard has changed and I'm on my last straw. I'm upset it's understandable because, even if I was angry that I had to buy a new version of windows, I accepted the OEM license. I'm now stuck on a picture of my old hard drive OEM which is in the grace of activation (due to the activation of a new motherboard) and I'm very angry because I essentially paid $80 for a software that does not work. I would not use the OEM version on the new motherboard, but I have no choice.

    A few important notes:

    • It is a NEW facility that has NEVER seen the office. I literally finished the installation, rebooted and failed.
    • 2 different mothers, two different hard drives, two different methods (update level and clean, ruling the CD player), two different DVDs. None worked.
    • I unplugged everything except for the screen, for obvious reasons. When I say everyone, I mean not even something so simple as a keyboard. It still does not work.
    • I tried the recovery of commissioning, I tried several clean installations.

I will finally try redownloading completely for windows installation files 8. In this case do not work, then I will officially be a complete and total loss. Everything I have access to is the prompt on the installation CD and the files as a drive mounted enslaved.

    UPDATE:
Here is the solution that I found:
    1. go to: C\Users\ (YOUR name of USER HERE) \AppData\Local\Microsoft
2 REMOVE the folder titled Web installation. This is where it stores the information of the ISO.
3 re - run the tool again, by re - download or go to the site Web of Ms.
4 let it download the ISO. However, before you choose what to do, unplug the ethernet / wireless.
4A. If you see "checking for updates... "on the screen, close and restart again.
    5. choose your preferred method. It is not really important. He now works as a updat.

So I thought to it. I decided once again to try to erase all the old Windows files collected for ISO and refresh. When I did, I drew this:

When it is connected to the internet, the global download updated tool and apply them to the image. Unplug ethernet when you do! If you have already installed the ISO, which is what could bring someone here, you do this:
    1. go to: C\Users\ (YOUR name of USER HERE) \AppData\Local\Microsoft

Alto. Windows starts flashing black a couple of times, because it includes the new settings, but it should start successfully. I'm typing this in Windows 8.

To zig - zag, I wanted to thank them for their time. I hope that someone else in the future can use.

    mid-2013

So I thought to do a factory restore and reinstall windows, but because this machine has been shipped in mid-2013, it has been bundled with windows 8 and 8.1 not. I cannot recover my system with the options of windows using the boot disk, I received when purchasing.

Or reinstall the system via the DVD starts works. Installation could not see my hard drives correctly or missing drivers.

Now, I did a system restore (Yes surprisingly has started up normally this morning) but I am always a little scared and would have preferred a clean install.

Decided to buy Alienrespawn Premium to try to restore my original recovery Image and reinstall the original windows 8 from scratch. But during the selection of these options, I get the message that the image is missing or incomplete. When I try to select another HARD drive he asks to insert a disk external HARD at least 100 GB on this subject. Is there an internal HDD option and select put this system up? I've got 2 750 GB SATA HARD drive and the other has been completely formatted for backup reasons...

Could someone please help me and tell me what to do in this case?

A clean install would be the best way to go, but I tried everything I found on google in communities and to but still do not get them to factory reset my PC...

    Thanks in advance

  • Need drivers after installation clean win 7 on win 8 machine

Curve minimum smarts learning difficult for an old man with a computer. Try to restore a HP 500-075, which came with Win 8 installed and upgraded to 8.1. A day after the reboot, I couldn't past password logon screen (I had not created one). After much googling that didn't serve me without success, I gave up and decided to reinstall the OS, but instead to install Win 7, didn't like 8 in all. Bought a drive OEM installation and after a lot of help from online, managed to install it. But no drivers. When I look up the drivers available at HP for this PC there is not an option for Windows 7. So my main question is will drivers for 8.1 work now that 7 is installed. Or I have to go back to 8? Moreover, I try the option of restoration of HP at the start, but was caught in an infinite loop. I'm about to launch this box and buy a new one!

    Bill, welcome to the forum.

As one old man to another, I suggest you save yourself some frustration and come back to Win 8.  We can probably find some drivers for the computer, but you may have problems because the computer is equipped with a UEFI BIOS with Secure Boot.

There are a lot of very good guides available to help you learn how to use Win 8.1.  I have a desktop with Win 7 and a laptop with Win 8.1.  I'm going from one to the other without any problem at all.  However, I use the desktop with Win 8.1 computer most of the time.  In fact, it is possible to start directly on the desktop instead of the start of Metro screen.  Here's a guide that will help you do it.

Once you have read the guide and tried to use the desktop computer, if you want to continue using Windows 7, I'll see if I can find the drivers for you.

Please, click on "Thumbs Up +" if I helped you and click "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.
