Installing other operating systems on a Pavilion p6 2310ea desktop PC.

I want to install several additional Microsoft OSes on this new PC currently provided with Windows 8 (for example, WIndows 7, Windows Server OSes). To do this, so I want to reconfigure the HARD drive with multiple partitions, one for each additional operating system.

Is there a clean way to re-partition the HARD drive, then reinstall the confiuration OS and software original in a smaller drive C: using options of standard system recovery? What I wonder is whether HP (e.g. from the recovery partition) recovery software allows the creation of a C: drive more SMALL in which reinstall the OS and standard software? Then, once the HP recovery procedure, it would be possible to create additional partitions for additional operating systems.

Hello

HP partitions are real sensitive to resizing and you will probably lose the ability for f11 and possibly, f9 works do not.

If you go with a second hard drive and then disconnect the drive home until you are satisfied with the operation of the second hard disk. If you are using many operating systems, then the docking station may be the way to go. You can use separate HDs for each operating system.

  • IMPOSSIBLE TO INSTALL ANY OPERATING SYSTEM

    Hello

I bought a computer hp laptop with this specification HP Pavilion g4-1310au Notebook PC about two weeks ago. It comes with a Freedos operating system. I tried to install an operating system from windows xp and also tried to install a windows 7, but every time I have to install the operating system, the installion was interrupted with a meassage to individuals a "blue screen" error error message saying that there are problems with my hard drive and I need to check on my hard drive. This scenario came when I tried to install windows xp on it. The next thing I did is that I tried to install windows 7 on the laptop computer. But still no luck, this time the error indicates that the installation cannot continue because there is a file missing or damaged file that prevents the installation.

I also tried to set some settings in the BIOS of the laptop as the Boot Option to start start installation in the cd/dvd from the laptop drive.

What seems to be the problem if I'm not able to install any operating system of your laptop? Is there a way or any special instructions for me to install the operating systems in this particular type and model of your laptop?

Your help will be much appreciated if you could guide me to solve my problem with my laptop.

    Hello.

Thank you for your patience and for all of the advice you gave me.
After trying so hard to figrure that it seems to be the problem with my laptop
why I can not install any operating system in it, I came across a software that makes the
Tip for my problem. The software is called v1.4.6 RUFUS. I used it to make a
USB bootable windows 7 and it worked.

Finally, I realized that my laptop is fine but there is a problem with the process that
I used to make a bootable usb key. After trying the software, everything went well and
the installation of the operating system is a success.

How to install two operating systems on a single computer, xp and windows 7... ?

    Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
For the installation of two Windows OS (called Dual Boot), you first determine what exactly the BONES. Based on this, you can proceed to install the oldest operating system first, then installing the latest OS. Here, in your case, Windows XP first and then Windows 7.
If you change the order, the latest version of Windows will not work correctly.
In addition, you can use Virtual PC or VMware to use Windows XP in Windows 7. Windows XP Mode is another version of Microsoft which allows you to use Windows XP in Windows 7 through Virtual PC. You can download Windows XP Mode from here:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Virtual-PC/Download.aspx
To install Windows XP Mode, you must have Windows 7 Professional or higher, with hardware virtualization enabled in your PC (you should check in the BIOS of your PC). If you prefer Windows XP Mode, you don't have to install Windows XP in the above mentioned way. It installs like any other program on Windows 7.
Note that if you have Windows 7 Edition Home Premium or lower edition, you can try Windows XP using Virtual PC/VMware or dual-boot.
  • When installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system?

Have a Dell system, caught a virus and it has really messed up the PC. Recently, it got worse so I tried to reinstall the operating system with the Dell disks. It wouldn't work. So I bought for Windows 7 Professional, it will not be installed. My first question when installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system? Because this does the same as the Dell disks, is to take what is on the hard drive and put it in a folder called windows old, is not formatting the HD. When I boot the disk, it shows the installation of files then open windows and start the installation. Before he could finish I get an error missing or corrupted files. Tried several times now, windows will still not open. Any suggestions? Once while trying to install the pc crashed with a blue screen which is one of the reasons why I have reinstall the OS, he started to plant a few times. I don't remember all the details on my PC, but its 4 years, triple core coprocessors, ram 8 GB, 500 GB HD. At the same time just after all this started in Jan. I had also improved my 3 GB to 8 GB memory. I bought the Dell memory for my system. Since the crash, could there be a problem with these new memory chips? Last night I tried to disassemble each and reinstalling it, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Before I tried to reinstall the operating system, the pc was see the concert 8.

Disconnect any other (additional) internal hard drives and external USB devices.
Look for any loose hard drive power or cables SATA, graphics card or other power cables.

    First run Memtest86 +:
It runs from a floppy disk or CD and should eliminate or confirm if one or more of your memory
sticks are bad or the values of the SPD in the BIOS are correct.
Let it run for as long as you can: 2,4,6,8 or several hours (at least 3 full passes), so no errors at that time then your ram is OK.

  • Drive hard dead - new drive installed no operating system - XP key for that computer is portable hard disk newly installed?

Changed the bad disk to another - XP key will transfer fees drive installed and how to make xp on the fresh drive?

Sure. Just use the XP installation CD you used to install the operating system the first time. Or, if you have an OEM machine with a restore to original image:

Most of notebooks and OEMs (HP, Sony, etc.) come with a picture of factory restore on a special partition on the hard drive. The factory restore process is normally called by pressing a key of function (such as F11) to start the computer. There will be a message as to what function key press the screen when you start your computer. You can also consult the manual of your computer or the computer mftr.'s site, or contact technical support to learn how to restore your computer if you plant from each computer mftr. He does it differently - sometimes even between models.

These machines also generally have a utility to create physical recovery disks in case the hard drive needs to be replaced or the factory restore image is somewhat damaged. If you have not created the recovery image recovery physical and/or damaged disks, contact technical support of computer mftr. to order a set of recovery disks. It is normally very expensive, around $20-25.

Hello, so I performed a reset that restore my computer to factory settings, I have chosen to erase all files. I've done this before, and everything went well. What was going on, it was my disc useage was at 100% a lot and that something was wrong with my computer then I factory reset it. While the factory reset is 44% in "resetting your computer" and the next thing I knew I had 2 options, stop or start with advanced options. Well, I chose to stop it, 5 minutes later, I turned it back on and I ran a SMART check has no that was the ID # 9367LW-86J89N-MFPX7G-60BR3 followed by the product id that is shown above. He said that when I start to Boot Device not found, please install an operating system on your hard drive. Followed by the hard drive (3FO), I can only click f2 and it gives me the link to visit the Help Center. The computer saying that it did not have an operating system was not the first alert, that I had, it was something else saying there was an error of hard disk which then became not having not not an operting system. I tried to go to f11 and go in this way, but regardless of what it always comes back to the screen that shows the found boot device, please install an operating system. Help, please! • can I install an operating system on my ram?

I went through a lot of posts on how to do that, people just give fancy words in huge paragraphs, that's the only problem I have not been able to address, I mean, Ive got a lot of things in my pc just by reading a few posts. but this, increasing the operating speed of my pc by like 1000% is too hard to resist, but I've never met a detailed procedure. It would be great if I get a link to a video that comes of showing me how to do the same thing, a break step by step what to do also would suffice.

Ask yourself, "Can I install an operating system on my ram?"

Microsoft does not provide a way, or he takes it somehow, to install one of its operating systems to any volatile storage device. This includes RAM any form or configuration.

For a moment, we suppose you could do: as soon as power was removed from the unit, all contents are lost. So, the installation will have to be repeated the next time you want to use the computer.

See an overview of what makes setup in place. The Windows DVD is put in the DVD player and Setup copy a base to HD image and preparing it for use. Control passes to the newly created system and a detection phase begins which determines the hardware in the computer uses and assembles a special computer image on the hard drive. The system restarts and uses the custom image. (The actual process may require several reboots and download files from the Internet, if a connection is available). At the end of the installation, there are on the hard drive an image of the operating system working together customized for this computer. Whenever the computer starts, it loads its core working together. How much is loaded depends on the amount of RAM available. Manager windows memory must take into account / meet the requirements of the programs started and run as well as the background as networking, memory of the file transfers to the use of system and application, & c.

Perhaps you would be worth considering the use of SSD devices or hybrid rather than or in addition to the HDs ordinary.

It depends only on the BONE of the application server.

If your OS development and OS is different, you have to compile the fmb in the server again.

  • Install the operating system after replacing the corrupted hard drive Asus q500a

The hard drive on my Asus Q500a is bad (he had checked the repairman). They told me that I could replace it (it will just keep failing until at last it dies just) but I have to re - install the operating system. The laptop comes with Windows 7 and I upgraded to 8 when it came out (I think). I don't have a recovery disk.

How can I replace the corrupted hard drive and re-install the operating system?

If I need to buy Windows 8, where can I find?

Would it not easier that I left the repair shop handle it?

  • How to install multiple operating systems

    Hi, im from the India,
    I have hp Pavilion-15-N209TX, with Windows built-in 8.1,
I want to install anothere os (Windows 7),
Windows 8.1 Windows 7 plus several operating systems.

    How to do this?

Make sure you create your media recovery HP or USB Flash Recovery discs before you edit or change anything.

The screenshots below is from a laptop HP 15 t-j100... options and the configuration on your computer screens may differ.

You will need to DISABLE "Secure Boot" and ENABLE "Legacy Support" in the "Configuration of the BIOS start-up secure" on the settings page similar to what is shown below, until you try to install Windows 7.

After you save the changes, the computer will ask you to confirm the changes... Accept the changes by typing the four digit code and press the ENTER"" key.

If you install from a USB key and see a message of "load a driver - a required CD/DVD drive device is missing", it's because as 'System Configuration' > 'Config USB3.0 in pre-start' is set to 'Enabled '. This should be set to 'Auto '.

In addition, as the hard drive is partitioned as TPG, you must start using the internal CD/DVD UEFI or UEFI-Key/key USB to install Windows on a GPT-partitioned disk. Turn on or restart the computer and press "F9" or "ESC", then "F9" when prompted. Select the source of boot UEFI you use and you press "ENTER".

I suggest using Windows 7 SP1 for the best installation experience. If you need Windows SP1, see 'How to install Windows 7 without the disc' to download and create your own disc of Windows 7 SP1. If the DVD does not start as UEFI, you may need to use a USB Flash drive (can ask "Quick start" DISABLING in BIOS) as the installation media. Please download the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to create a Windows 7 SP1 USB Flash drive. Please note that some computers may not recognize a valid active UEFI USB Flash drive if it is formatted in NTFS and may require only a FAT32 formatted USB Flash drive. You should be able to make a FAT32 formatted Windows 7 installation USB Flash drive using Rufus, UNetbootin, Universal USB Installeror WiNToBootic. I like Rufus, because it contains options for 'Plan of GPT partition for UEFI computer' and 'FAT32'.

    From the top...

    (1) in Windows 8 / 8.1, reduce the "C:" partition and create a new partition of the unused space. Please see partitioning and naming of readers (Windows 8) for more information on partition in Windows 8 / 8.1.

    (2) download f6flpy-x 64.zip, extract the files/folders and place it on a USB Flash drive.

    (3) turn on the computer and immediately start typing the key "ESC".

    (4) when the MENU is displayed, press "F10".

    5) navigate the BIOS to the "System Configuration", 'USB 3.0 pré-OS Config' and the value 'Auto '.

    6) navigate the BIOS to the "System Configuration", "Startup Options" and "Secure Boot" the value 'Legacy Support' the value "Enabled" and "Disabled"

    7) press "F10" and click "YES" to "Exit Saving Changes".

    (8) computer should restart and display "Change of operating system startup Mode"... type the four digit code, then press "ENTER".

    (9) let Windows 8 boot to the top and put the Windows 7 SP1media in the drive to DVD or a USB port, then logout / stop.

    (10) turn on the computer and immediately start typing the key "ESC".

    (11) when the MENU is displayed, press the key "F9" and then select the correct boot UEFI source (CD/DVD drive internal, USB drive, CD/DVD, USB Flash drive, etc.). ... Press any key to start the CD/DVD, if prompted.

    (12) select 'Language', ' time / currency ' and 'Keyboard' settings and then click "Next".

    13) click on 'install now '... Check "Accept terms" and click "next". Click on "Custom (Advanced)".

    (14) you may need to provide Intel SATA/RAID drivers at the moment...  Use the Intel SATA/RAID drivers that you previously placed on a USB Flash drive.

    (15) to follow all instructions and meet the need. Enter the Windows 7 key when asked.

Most of the 64 - bit drivers Windows 7 for HP ENVY 15 t-j100 CTO Notebook PC drivers of Quad Edition page should work on your computer. DO NOT use any BIOS or download of the firmware from this page. Please message the Windows Device Manager (text only) "Hardware ID" of all remaining missing or unknown devices, as shown in the example below.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
