Installing Windows 10 on T500, Windows 7 migration

During the installation of 10 window, a message appears that the media required driver is missing (DVD, USB or fixed disk). Looking for the driver, I find an ovierview, saying that W10 does not work on T500. Is this correct?

-Otherwise, where I can download the required drivers?

-Si W10 does not work on T500, how can I go back to Windows 7? No possibility to continue more away from this error message.

Thread can be closed, because I finally managed to restart Windows 7. Thanks to all the volunteers, think of a solution for my problem as specified above.

Just for your information: the text of detailed explanation for my readings of problem window-10:

0 x 1900101-0x3000D

The installation was not successful. In the FIRST STARTING phase, an error occurred during the process of MIGRATION-DATA.

Whatever that means, it does not increase my confidence in W - 10.

  • Install Windows DV8110us own

Have a laptop HP Pavilion DV8110us purchased in 2006.  Under XP SP3.  The upgrade to Windows 7 with a clean install.  A run the MS Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.   This laptop has the AMD Turion 64 clocked at 1.8 mhz chip.  I have 2 GB of memory.  Looking through the options of Win7, I decided to order Win7 32 bit, since I'm an accountant only 2 GB of memory.  Win 7 64 bit seems to be happier with 4 GB.  While the Adviser shows that I have some drivers that need to update after installing Windows 7, I just noticed that the NIC Realtex RTL8139/810 x needs a new driver for Win7 32 bit, but under Win7 64-bit, the NETWORK card is compatible.

Should I have ordered Win7 64-bit?  Or should I look around a new Realtek driver?  Realtex has a link to an old Vista driver that should work.  Other research suggests that a feasible driver might be on the Win7 DVD.   Would appreciate responses from anyone doing this migration.

    Hello:

You can use this driver W7 ethernet directly from realtek.  Second on the list.

    http://www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?langid=1&PNid=14&PFID=7&level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GETDOWN=false

You don't want to bog down your PC with a 64 bit OS.

They need of more memory and disk space to run a 32 bit OS only.

You're quite right - I wouldn't close an OS 64 bit without a minimum of 4 GB of system memory.

    Thanks for asking!

You cannot install updates Windows and error migration was not able to transfer.

The problem can occur if the update of the components are damaged.

Is the message of exact error that appears?

I suggest you to reset the update components and check if the problem persists.

  • Does not fingerprint after installing Windows 7

I bought 3 items of T500 with installed Windows 7 Home. With this OS footprint scaner worked properly.

After installing Windows 7 Professinal, fingerprint reader does not work. All instaled divers. There is no error in DeviceManager. But when I run the software of fingerprints, it is said that scanner is not lit.

Make sure that the installed driver is actually the one that came with the Lenovo Fingerprint Software and not the one that you got from Windows Update. I've seen similar problems several times where Windows 7 is installed and get fingerprints from windows update driver/software and the software Lenovo to fingerprints do not work because some parts of the software, I got from windowsupdate is left on the computer.

Which version of the driver of the fingerprint reading is installed on your computer?

You can try uninstalling Lenovo Fingerprint Software and restart. Then, after the reboot if there is still a driver installed for the fingerprint reader in Device Manager, right click and select uninstall and also check the box that says to delete the driver. You may have to restart again. If you had several drivers fingerprint installed you may need to repeat this step twice. So when Device Manager shows the fingerprint with no check reader driver installed if you have any software fingerprint authentec or authentec truesuite installed under "uninstall or change a program". If you find any uninstall and restart. If you can successfully eliminate all the reader of fingerprints in the device should be listed in Control Panel with no driver installed, you should find any substance of fingerprints or biometrics. Then try to install the Lenovo Fingerprint Software.

My PC running the 32-bit version or 64-bit Windows?
          http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/find-out-32-or-64-bit

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/installing-and-reinstalling-Windows-7

Windows 7 64 bit comes in handy when you need to deal with at least 4 GB of RAM or more. Windows 7 32 bit can use up to 3.2 GB of RAM. Because the address space of memory is much larger for 64-bit Windows, this means that you need two times more memory than the 32-bit Windows to accomplish some of the same task, but you are able to do much more, you can have more apps open, do things like run a virus scan in the background it will affect the performance of your system. 64-bit Windows 7 is safer too, malicious code cannot easily infiltrate it, drivers are more reliable because they must be signed before it can work with 64 bit Windows 7.

Regarding compatibility, you need device drivers 64-bit hardware devices, you may have. In addition, there is no 16-bit subsystem in Windows 7 64-bit, which means, your applications must be 32-bit only, not 16-bit Installer or programs uninstaller. Also, if you decide to switch to Windows 7 64 bit in the future, there is no way to upgrade from 32-bit Windows, clean install only.

    Migration from 32 to 64-bit

You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.

Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.

Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/07/using-Windows-easy-transfer-in-Windows-7/

Boot from the DVD 64 bit Windows 7
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)
Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:
The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.
(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in the forums of Windows.

I understand that you get an x 80070002 error message when you try to update Windows 8 to 8.1 Windows. We're really sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. If you receive Error 80070002 while accessing applications on Windows store or by updating to Windows 8.1, you must delete the temporary files to update that Windows uses to identify updates for your computer. You might face this problem due to several reasons like corrupt Windows Update components, software Antivirus installed on the computer, third, conflicts etc. I would suggest trying the following steps and check if it helps.

You can refer to the suggestion of Praseetha K Nair in the following link and check if it helps.

  • Install Windows 8.1 on 32-bit 64-bit

I want to reinstall my system 32-bit of Windows 8 with 64 bit on my desk.  I have the Windows 8 install disc and I understand I have to do a clean install and reinstall other programs.  All my data files are on a separate hard drive and only program files are on my C drive.  Installing the 64-bit system will leave the affected data files?  Also I would like to install an SSD and install the 64-bit Windows on it as well as my other programs.  Can I install the SSD drive and then install Windows 8 64 bit on it? Or would it be better to install Windows 64 bits on the C drive and then install the SSD drive and migrate Windows 8 for it and then reinstall my other programs? Thanks for any help.

To install a Windows 8 upgrade version, you must already have Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP installed on your PC.

If you have formatted the disk before Windows 8 upgrade version has been installed, you will not be able to use your upgrade product key to activate Windows 8. To activate Windows 8, you will need to install your previous version of Windows, and then reinstall Windows 8. Help with the activation process, of contact support.

See the following work around you can use:

    http://winsupersite.com/article/Windows8/clean-install-Windows-8-upgrade-media-144648

If you install Windows retail media 8.1, you go without any of the above workarounds.

Also I would like to install an SSD and install the 64-bit Windows on it as well as my other programs.  Can I install the SSD drive and then install Windows 8 64 bit on it?

Yes, you can use work around it.

Or would it be better to install Windows 64 bits on the C drive and then install the SSD drive and migrate Windows 8 for it and then reinstall my other programs? Thanks for any help.

For performance, its best you install Windows 8 64-bit on the SSD and make sure your boot drive and keep your personal data on the mechanical hard drive.

  • switching with SSD hard drive and install windows 8.1

    Hello

I plan to buy a SSD Samsung 850 pro / evo (if you recommend to stick to a 840 please let me know)

I have an alienware r4 bought in September 2014 I got with a normal 3 TB hard I now want to change just a storage disk and install a SSD drive with windows on it.

I have reinstall windows 8.1 once before because of a problem before so im not new and understand the basic. But when even assume I don't know incase I missed a step, or something that should have been done.

I also understand that the key of windows remains on computers that have a UEFI boot mode. If this correct?

Are there any special steps I need to do to install an SSD

I've also heard when to reinstall windows on your computer, that you need something with you mother of the Council which has not made when I first did a reinstall of windows on my computer. But it's a clean install of windows. I don't know what - this 'clean installing windows"and if it is not necessary to then please let me know.

All I really want to do is to install windows on a card SSD to speed up performance without having to buy a new cd and would like to know if the pilot that were usually recommended for my computer will work as it should be, or do I install something different since im put an ssd card into my bench.

    Thank you

The 850 is a great player, and if he is not a big price difference I recommend plus the 840.  Your plan to start SSD sounds good.  As long as you are using the Dell recovery disk, you won't need another Windows key.

In some cases, you will need to opt for the SATA AHCI mode to do a clean install.  FYI, a clean install is the one who clears all data from the disk of destination.

However, Samsung provides a free clone app (available on their website) that you can use to migrate your current installation to the new drive without all the trouble of a new facility.

  • How to install windows 8 or 7 Sierra?

Tried to install 7 or 8, since the installation of sierra what it messed my partitions where bootcamp windows 10, but now had to work I have to use an old Olympus Studio tool for project work/uni which works only on windows 7.

It seems that apple has control over what you do on a machine and the system I have invested important sums of money in. Very close to sale until the installation of all mac and return to windows. El Capitan was buggy on my machine before and cling endlessly.

installs Windows 7 is not fully supported in Sierra bootcamp

Install Windows 7 and earlier Apple Support on your Mac using Boot Camp -

MS dropped support for Win 7.

  • How to install windows 8.1 using boot camp on sierra os

Im trying to install windows 8.1 64 bit on my end 2011 MacBook Pro using boot camp.

I downloaded the ISO from Microsoft file and saved it in the downloads.

i boot boot camp and she has 2 activated options are: software DOWNLOAD to apple support and the other is latest windows install or remove windows 10 or later.

I'm not sure why it says windows 10 as it is not compatible with my mac earlier. anyway I check the two options and then bootcamp download all drivers and records them in my pendrive of 32GB.

He then asks me what hard drive partition and I choose but then it says: he cannot find the installation file. I tried opening the file so it is mounted, but nothing works. I thought it's supposed to tell you what to do?

    Thanks for any help

A Mac 2011 needs a physical DVD to install Windows and need to use the optical drive (CD/DVD). You cannot use an external CD/DVD drive.

Please burn the ISO on a DVD-R SL and then click the installation option only.

  • Cannot install windows via bootcamp (Imac Mid 2011)

Hi, I struggled for the last 2 days and can't seem to find how to create a windows partition and installed it.

Note: I have a 27 inch mid 2011 Imac and run MacOS Sierra 10.12.

I have problems with bootcamp especially at the stage of the process USB drive.

    1. I do not understand why Bootcamp assistant 2 display only tasks being #1 download the windows software and #2 install windows 10 when all apple support pages show 3 different tasks available as here https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205016http ://

    2. I prefer to install windows 7 on my partition, bootcamp, however 'install windows 10', which means that I can't install an older version on my partition? I tried to install windows 7 via a win7 .iso file AND a win10 .iso but none of them works.

    3. whenever I try to install windows, the system do not recognize my USB (it would be with .iso win10 associated drivers or Win7 .iso. + drivers associated) and constantly asking for a disc to be inserted.

My USB has been formatted through disk as MS-DOS (FAT32) volume and all utility used .iso comes from Microsoft. I don't understand why I can't have my. ISO recognized by the system.

    Help please :)

This is normal and expected behavior. Your 2011 Mac does not support the USB Windows installation. You must use a physical DVD burned ISO. Your Mac does not officially support Windows 10. The ISO files are available at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/home .

Documentation on Apple's site shows not all models. Please visit https://help.apple.com/bootcamp/mac/5.0/help/ for an older version (FC5).

    so, mac support this game?

or it takes 8 GB ram to play counter strike?

operating system windows (not authentic) will cause no effect on mac?

If I install the windows on mac operating system, I will award 58 GB in the windows operating system and remains to mac, goes no problem in the future, due to the windows operating system?

    operating system Windows (not authentic)

This means that you ask for assistance on the use of a pirate copy of Windows?

If you install Windows, you have the advantage of being able to run Windows and the inconvenience of having to deal with all the viruses and stuff for which Windows systems are prone.

Why not just buy the Mac version? It seems relatively inexpensive: http://store.steampowered.com/app/730/
