  I have a Satellite L30 - 10Y (PSL33E 03L031EN) (about 2 years), it is running Vista (installed come) and I'll replace it with XP pro SP3.
  I already have the drivers (from the Division of driver Toshiba), but I wonder if there are any issues that anyone knows how I could run in this case?

  I installed OS to my house several times, built offices with absolutely no problems whatsoever, but various articles I read there seems to be a bit of a 'ball game' different when it comes to laptops?

  Your laptop is supported for Windows XP Home edition, and there should not be any problems at all. For installing WXP using Windows XP SP2 home edition.
  Download page for all the drivers, tools and utilities that you can find on Toshiba.

  You can also find document Setup Instructions. Install all the stuff of Toshiba following this order of installations. It is very important.

  I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A205-s5859 new (US series), and my laptop was completely done by virus so I just want to install Windows XP instead of Windows Vista which is now experiencing in my laptop and wants to make a new partition.

  When I try to install Windows XP Home edition, I get a problem which is in the Middle while confuguring my system hardware (blue screen) a messege is appearning like * "Setup did not all hard disks in your computer instead. Make sure that the hard drives are powred on properly connected to your computer and that all disks associated hardware configuration is correct. It can be runnning an installer of manufacturer_suplliedd diagnosticor "* and dvd r/w works correctly because of this message iam not able to install xp so please help me to solve this problem."

  How about you, the use of the nLite?
  nLite may include the SATA driver in XP operating system CD.
  So you n t overall 104MB just need only take the view the SATA driver files and include it using a nLite ;)

  Yesterday, I received by Satellite L500D - 12 p, new with Free DOS. I would like to install Win XP, so when I put the installation CD of XP, came a few blue windows, something like BSOD, error screen with some kind of information that there is no space, memory to install. Then I heard accidentally than laptops usually cannot save hard drive, so I'll need some SATA and USB floppy or something like that the controllers (don't know which means that!).

  So, I wonder how to install Windows XP on L500D 12 p?

  Before you install Windows XP Home edition on your new laptop check if this model of laptop is WXP supported.
  I mean if you can't find the drivers of Windows XP Home edition and all the important tools and utilities there is no sense to start the installation of Windows XP Home edition.

  Satellite L300-0HH seems to be a Canadian series of Toshiba I goggled a bit and found some pages saying that it s a Canadian model.
  In this case, I recommend Canadian research on Toshiba page for some compatible drivers.

  I recently bought a laptop: SATELLITE L40 - 18Z, MODEL No. PSL48E. One of their salesmen dim wit forgot to mention that the warranty expires once you remove the VISTA machine.

  I make music and need for XP as no software has caught with VISTA yet.

  Someone out there has done this on this machine? It works if you download all the drivers for the model of the toshibas download section? When you have to install the drivers and through what media bring you on the machine? Do yuou should reformat the hard drive at all prior to xp?

  I'm not clued by all means on this side of things for any help/advice would be much appreciated!

  If you want, you can install the XP. That will not affect the warranty!

  If you want to install the Xp you simply boot from the XP CD.
  Then, you will need to include the SATA (Intel Storage Manager) driver using the F6 key during the installation procedure.

  All or all the drivers needed XP, you should find on the page of the pilot!

  You are right. These models with chipset AMD M690G aren't supported WXP. All you can do is search for pilots Googling autour. Models were still problematic with the help of Windows XP Home edition.

  I checked Equium models but the same situation. Try to find the drivers on the manufacturers support pages. Do you need info about some specific hardware components?

  The Intel matrix storage manager contains the SATA driver that is needed to recognize the HARD drive and install XP on your laptop.
  You can use the external floppy drive floppy to include the SATA driver in the program XP installation, or you can create your own XP CD which includes the Intel Matrix Storage Manager too.

  I had some problems using the external floppy drive too and that's why I chose the second option. I used nLite freeware program to create an own XP CD with SATA drivers. It s really great. You must test it too.

  OK, I'll take delivery today of a new L30-105 (Core Duo 1 GB 80 GB DVDRW Vista Home) and have heard a lot of bad things about Vista. Couple because I splashed by A £100 for a real OEM version of XP to Christmas, I really do not have this go waste and was wondering if anyone has experience of wiping the OS Vista the day they open the laptop.

  What I have to be wary of everything by this facility? I know that I have to download the drivers for Toshiba and create a driver before the formatting, the Vista operating system disc and the installation of XP, but I need to reset the bios to read from DVD player, etc etc?

  No, you should not reset or update the BIOS. Installing XP should work without big and serious BIOS updates.
  I would not recommend also to wipe Vista but to install XP on the HARD drive second.
  In this case, you can use the two OS's.
