Installing XP on Satellite L350D - 12 M

Hi all

I would like to try XP on my Satellite L350D - 12M, because I think he can solve some problems I'm having with the MIDI on Vista. XP drivers are available for all material of this laptop and need the pre-installation for SATA etc drivers before you start?

Thank you
Jon.

Hello

Satellite L350D - 12 M belongs to the series of PSLE0E.
You can check on the European driver Toshiba page if Win XP drivers are available for this model of laptop.

> will I need pre-installation for SATA etc drivers before you start
Usually, you need the SATA driver for the AMD chipset but in the BIOS, you can change the option called controller SATA Compatible Mode and not AHCI.
Then you wouldn t need the SATA driver.

Welcome them

You are right. These models with chipset AMD M690G aren't supported WXP. All you can do is search for pilots Googling autour. Models were still problematic with the help of Windows XP Home edition.

  • Satellite L350D - Setup Wizard and not installed corectly

I have a Satellite L350D which came with Windows Vista installed but that you have upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium.

Last week, I tried to install the software for a Philips VOIP151 Skype phone and the driver for the webcam built-in Chicony. In each case the installation launches, and then I get a message that the program may not have installed correctly and I would like to reinstall it with the recommended settings. I chose this; the installation starts and then everything just stops. Nothing happens, and finally, after waiting a very long time, I have to assume that it does not work. Because this sequence occurred during attempts to install two very different elements, I guess the problem is with the installation wizard.
And, Furthermore, the software for Philips phone has already been installed successfully on this laptop, but has been uninstalled. He was also recently installed correctly on another laptop.

    Any ideas?

    Hi ax2010,

Your ad is a little confusing. You have this problem with the driver for Philips Skype phone or is it with the Toshiba webcam driver?

    Hello

    You have two options;
Either you install Win XP with SATA drivers or without the SATA drivers.

If you want to install Win XP without SATA drivers, you will need to draw the SATA AHCI compatible mode option in the BIOS. But in this case the HARD disk, performance would be lower.

If you want to use the SATA performance, then you need the SATA driver.
For this I recommend this HowTo:
+ How to integrate a SATA AHCI driver into a Windows XP Setup CD.

  • Dead by Satellite L350D after installing Win7

    Hello

Sorry if this has been asked before - I had a quick glance is a big big forum...

My Tosh Satellite L350D worked very well but had Vista OS (everything is said!)

I ran a disc to upgrade to Windows 7 (32 bit) everything seems to be okay. After installation, the first thing I did was visit the Toshiba support for the graphics driver that I found, unpacked and loaded.

At the end of installation, I was invited to reboot (it would be the first restart of the Win7 installation).

He stops and died. The power light lights up but no disks don't spin up, no screen, no fan, nothing. I can stick to my ear, but nothing makes a sound.

I can put in an operating system recovery disc (known to be good) and it runs briefly for a few seconds, but that's all.

All I can think is somehow I killed the BIOS - any ideas how I can get this person?

    Thank you

It's really stupid situation now. All you did was just and I can't imagine that the display driver Toshiba killed BIOS even if the symptoms are the same when the BIOS is damaged.

Please do that Akuma wrote and post comments.

  • Overheating issued with newly installed Windows 7 x 64-Satellite L350D - 10Z

I just upgraded from vista to Windows 7 x 64 on my laptop Satellite L350D 10Z.
Unfortunaly I have had overheating issues since.

The computer began to stop himself after awhile of use, I downloaded speedfan and discovered that the cell was operating at 95 degrees Celsius while playing games, I chose in speedfan that fans would go to 100% at all times

I also downloaded the latest BIOS update but I still read temperatures ranging from 75 to 85 degrees Celsius, the laptop has stopped to close itself to overheat, but it still don't feel safe.

    Is this a known issue?
What can I do keep the temperature down?

    Hello

The temperature seems to be too high and this is the reason why your laptop stops automatically.
You said that what happens during the game
During games all appliances are running with maximum performance and create a lot of heat dissipation

Clock graphics Toshiba down driver the GPU if a threshold has been reached
Other drivers don't support this overheating of procreation.
Therefore, you should use the Toshiba graphics card driver!
Other drivers may be used but only at your own risk!

In addition, it must ensure that the unique cooling grids are dust-free and fresh air could circulate properly never use the laptop on the lap, couch or bet that it would close the vents and could lead to overheating!

  • Questions about the record HDD Recovery - Satellite L350D

    Hello everyone!

I have a Satellite L350D with Windows Vista.
I'm in my mind to reinstall.
All my data from the two partitions are saved with the exception of a folder on my drive E Data "HDDRecovery" who shouldn't be modyfied or deleted, or whatever.

I wonder if all the data are removed from the hard disk due to formatting, how does appear that this same folder HDDRecovery remains safe on the hard drive?
Or is that the hard drive is not really formatted and data on my hard drive are always safe and hidden?

    Thank you for answers!

    Hello

I'll try to explain how it works.

Original Toshiba designed for your laptop recovery image is recorded on the second partition in the file called HDDRecovery. This image should be used if you want to install OS and have the original state factory.

For this installation, you can use this recovery image of the second partition or by using the recovery DVD. It is recommended to everyone to create this recovery DVDs. Have you created?

If you use recovery DVD the whole HARD disk will be formatted and all data stored thereon will be removed.
If you start the HARD drive recovery process only C partition is removed. This folder HDDRecovery is important if you only want to use HARD drive recovery facility. When you want to use the DVD only you can remove (I do not recommend you to do).

I hope I could help a little, but if you have any other questions please let us know.

    > I want to ask abuts what graphic drivers I use shud on Toshiba Satellite L350D 20 d?
This question is superfluous. It s not important what display is inside. It is important to what graphics card is inside. Toshiba offer tested display drivers (graphics) for your model of laptop so please use original Toshiba display drivers.

For your model mobile, you can find everything you need on Toshiba support and download page - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

  • Satellite L350D - crash after update BIOS?

    Hey all.

Put windows XP on my Satellite L350D, worked well, has all the drivers etc. and works perfectly. Returned on the toshiba site and saw there is an update of the BIOS for it, then downloaded and says to install. To halfway through she turned off the laptop (thin power supply and had a full battery, so must have been updating).

Now it will not boot up what so ever. The power light turns on but nothing else works.

Im guessing that he wiped or corrupted BIOS, is there any fix for this, I can refer to toshiba or am I out of luck?

    Hello

The failure of the Bios is one of the most painful problem in this forum. Too many discussions on the failure of the bios posted and typical response is to contact the ASP. Read this, may be useful for you

  • Satellite L350D-11 - excessive heat

    Hello

I got my Toshiba Satellite L350D-11 s about a year and half ago. For a few months, I noticed that the laptop seems to be excessive heat.
I downloaded speedfan and he said Core: 73-78 ° C without load all things (sry for my bad English: D) and 95-104 ° C to play games...

Yesterday, I called Toshiba support because my NB crashed and they said that I could clean the shock absorbers? (google gave me the word: D) with a vacuum cleaner that I also made tradingtextile.com.

SICE I did this he wasn't breaking, but the temperature was always at 100 ° C, to play games, so what do I do? It is not normal, is it?

PS It's still under warranty, if it requires a fix/replacement parts!

    Hello

Your factory satellite settings or you have installed the own operating system?
Are you still using original driver display Toshiba or some third party?

To be honest, your laptop is not portable real game and I don't think that really good graphics performance.

The laptop is placed on the desktop when the temperature goes above 80 ° C? Are that the cooling vents not blocked and free somehow?

  • Touchpad suddenly stopped to work on my Satellite L350D

    Hello!

You have installed the latest driver on the Toshiba site?

I think that the touchpad is disabled by FN + F9, but do you have the yellow marks in Device Manager?

  • Can't charge WLan Atheros AR5007EG on Satellite L350D

    I use a Satellite L350D PSLE8E-038002BT model.

As I had a network problem (I regularly lose contact with the DNS server), I suspected the driver atheros-wlan-win7-9204190 that I had recently installed originally. I wanted to return to the atheros-wlan-win7-8002580 version which had run successfully on my PC for quite a while.

I went to device management, chose for the network adapters, I chose the wireless Ahteros. Selection of properties and I tried to reload the old version of the device drivers. As the old driver was not justified at this location, I used the TC00190600I.exe file in the zip received using Tempro. Atheros charger refused unfortunately overwrite a new version by a former. As a result, I decided to uninstall the driver, who also deleted the system Atheros device.

I got the device to start the TC00190600I.exe. But the connection to the router is not running. The icon at the bottom of the screen to indicate connectivity said: not connected, there is no connection available. Windows network control mentions that there might be a problem with the device driver for your connection to the wireless network card.

Note that some texts or names mentioned above may not be accurate. I translated as I use a Dutch version of windows.

Thank you for any help or advice.

    > Makes me assume that I don't have a problem with the driver or adapter.
OK and what is your router?

Have you tested WLAN connectivity elsewhere?

    I have a Satellite L350D model psle8e now 2 years old I recently met a heat problem (80 to 103 ° C) and stop suddenly.
I installed SpeedFan 4.43 to increase the speed of my fans he said that all the

If anyone has a better solution or recommend a similar software.
    Will be a good help.
    H. E.: WIN 7

    Hello

I think software is not solution. I put t know how you cleaned your laptop, but you need is professional cleaning. This means: your laptop must be disassembled and cleaned properly.

After cleaning of cooling and cooling chimneys, grilling your laptop will be cooled properly and you won't have problems with OFF switch.
