Instant Messaging for blackBerry Smartphones BB

HI: I'm relatively new to the Blackberry that I've always been a Palm user. So far, so good, just a new learning curve BUT, for the life of me, I can't do my e-mail BBinstant departure. My boss is out of town and want to use this, he sent out invitations, I agreed, I e-mailed him, we each have our PIN and he sent me messages coming out all the characters with the message no delete, transfer or when it is handled by the bb server, etc. Help... I spent waaaayyyyyy to much time trying to get it going! Moreover, it is a Pearl

    Hello.

I got a new "BOLD" a couple of days. I'm trying to download AIM, MSN messenger and Gmail and would like to get these two directly ther site... do not all applications to join my entire list etc.

The page after him "click here to check if your blackberry is compatible," appears as a blank white page.

Could someone give me please the direct links to download these three programs?

Go to your WAP browser-> type in http://mobile.blackberry.com -> click on instant messaging and social networks. Now, click on your application you want to install.

  • Instant Messaging for blackBerry Smartphones will not work on wifi

I got my camera a few months ago. I always have my iphone, it wasn't until last week when I was reminded of I have a blackberry and started using it. Unfortunately, I always have a hard time linking my IM using wifi. This will never work! For example, whenever I try to log-in using my yahoo Messenger, I always get an error message indicating that "Service not allows for this pocket. I think maybe since it is a preinstalled application I should be able to use my IMs (esp. yahoo and google) using the wifi as when you use your iphone or android devices. So is there a problem on my phone because I can't use my IMs using wifi? Also I'm using curve BB 9220. Thank you!

Hello and welcome to the community!

    BlackBerry <> iPhone or Android

BlackBerry devices have owners that require subscription to a package of data from your provider, even if you use these services via WiFi. I don't remember if the specific services you mention fall into this category or not, but you need to ring to the top of your service provider and tell them about the exact services that you want to use and then make sure that you subscribe to a package of adequate data from them to enable these services.

    Good luck!

  • Instant Messaging for blackBerry Smartphones

We just started to use IM on our BB Curve 8900 and we believe that it is very easy. Especially if one of us has an urgent need to get through and we are on the phone.

    The question is:

Just use my data plan in the same way as download/semail or it belongs to my text/call package?

If you mean by "IM" BlackBerry Messenger? It is up to the data set, it is not SMS.

What is the application that you use? There are a lot of other "IM" applications like BeeJive, WebMessenger, IM +, and most of the people use also of the data packet, but it can vary.

  • Message to voicemail for blackBerry Smartphones help registration

I have a blackberry curve 8330 with alltel service. I had initially recorded a message for my voicemail on my phone. I was wondering if anyone knew if it could be changed back to the original factory registration.

Thank you for your help in advance

I hope too... but it's a service and the service of your operator, Alltel (or Verizon?) that hosts your voicemail service. It is not hosted ON BlackBerry or through the services of BlackBerry.

Normally, a user calls their own voicemail and is given the choice to directors on their voicemail account, record personal greetings, etc.

  • Storage of applications for blackBerry Smartphones

Hey everyone... I use my 9790 bold, he repeats to me my memory to applications is 512 MB internal memory of the phone's 8 GB! So is there anyway to increase this limited storage for applications? In addition, this space does not increase if I use an external MicroSD memory?

    Hello...

There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.

Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and fixed (size: 512 MB in your case) space that is available to the House of the OS itself, as the destination for the installation of applications (more a few storage applications, overhead and other costs). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

Memory card SD/Media- is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc.. It can be as large as your BB OS can support... see this KB:

    • KB05461 Sizes of card MicroSD taken in charge by the BlackBerry device software

On some devices/OS levels, you can see 'Free file' (Options > status), I think this is equivalent to AppMemory. You can see on other devices, all the memory usage levels three (Options > memory). Here are some tips to use:

    • KB02843 What is the function of low memory manager on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone

Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

In addition, each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy. Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

    Good luck!

  • Display messages to blackBerry Smartphones

    Hi out there,.

I have a white message envelope with a white growing next to it in the message bar.

My problem is that I can't remove it. Who has the solution for me?

    Thanks Horn

As with most of the cases, you have some request, probably a third-party application installed on your device letting you notifications of something. I don't know what, I don't know than what you have installed on your BlackBerry.

I suggest this, go through EACH of the icons of your application on your BlackBerry and check each one. It could be weather alert notifications, there might be messages from an instant messaging application.

Your SIM card is not the device memory or Media Card... everyone is different.

  • Message from blackBerry Smartphones: MTP Device Mode is enabled on

I just did a hard reset (remove battery) on my Storm2 9550.  When it finished start, I started the Desktop software and connected the phone via the USB port.  I received the following message:

This Blackberry device using a connection of the PSG.  Some features of media for your device mass storage mode, which interrupts all active media transfer protocol (MTP) connections.  You want to mass storage mode?

I don't know exactly what that means or if I should answer 'Yes' or 'no '.  (I had a bit of luck you are looking for this particular online message).

The BlackBerry Storm smartphone can connect to a computer in one of the following ways:

    • USB mass storage mode
    • Media Transfer Protocol (MTP)

MTP allows a BlackBerry smartphone user transfer media files between a computer and a BlackBerry smartphone and provides support for multimedia files that have specific requirements, such as restrictions associated with the management of digital rights (DRM) technologies.

A BlackBerry smartphone appears as a Portable device in my computer when connected to the computer using the PSG. It does not appear in the devices with removable storage section and has not assigned a drive letter.
