Instead of Adobe PDF reader

Hello!

I'm used to be able to open a PDF file of my e-mail, add some text to it, and then print it using Adobe.  Since their last update, last weekend, I am not able to do that more.  Can anyone recommend a program that will do it for me?  I tried to save the file on my counter top, and then add the text, and then print, who also will not work.  Looks like Adobe wants us to pay $14.99 per month for something that we used to be able to do it for free.

Any help would be much appreciated!

  • Installation hangs during the installation of Adobe Pdf Reader, MS Doc Viewer free of charge and same VS2010 c# Express

    For the last two months that I had trouble setting things in general, for example MS doc viewer for free and VS2010 c# Express.

    Yesterday, I tried to install the new version of Adobe Pdf Reader and had exactly the same problem again. I double-click on the executable installer, that it goes right up to 100% on the preparation and when it gets to the point when it should start the installation itself that the computer just hangs and installation does not.

    I'm almost certain that this is not a virus I have an up-to-date antivirus and run a scan complete of all the two days. He has never had any problems there.

    Anyone know what goes wrong? How do I put right?

    Help, please.

    Here's how to solve problems with Windows Installer: http://www.ehow.com/how_4813669_fix-vista-problems-windows-installer.html.

    If this does not work, try the Windows Installer Cleanup utility: http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Windows-Installer-CleanUp-Utility-Download-18442.html and see if that helps.

    I hope this helps.  If this is not the case, the issue may not be with the installer, but another problem, and we need to solve problems to try to find the problem.  Post back if this does not work and we will try other options.

  • Adobe PDF Reader Plugin DC cannot disable with the ID of Group Policy object class

    Adobe PDF Reader Plugin DC cannot disable with the ID of Group Policy object class

    Our school district recently upgraded to Acrobat Reader DC - in the past, we have disabled the plugin IE via GPO for Internet Explorer - manage ad - ons with the class ID of the ad-on/plugin

    The class ID is the same on computers {CA8A9780-280D-11CF-A24D-444553540000}, and the object GPO is applied and turns off the plugin

    result with the new version - PDF opens in Internet explore - it is a problem for a lot of reason / especially we have many applications that require the full version and we have seen a lot of reports being pulled from IIS based sites that fail to print.

    It works if I disable the GPO and manually disable the plugin.

    That is the question

    Is there a way to disable the ad-on/plugin for IE centrally from an IT management perspective?

    While what you do must have worked, you can try these: create one of the following keys:

    1.

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\15.0\Originals]

    "bBrowserIntegration" = DWORD: 00000000

    2.

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Settings\ {CA8A9780-280D-1 1See-A24D-444553540000}]

    (just to create the key is sufficient)

  • Adobe Reader 'Adobe PDF Reader"Addon when not install using the MSI installer.

    I'm trying to do a silent install Adobe Reader - and I noticed that when I use the installer EXE, with no manual configuration, I have the "Adobe PDF Reader" Addon in Internet Explorer (IE11).

    When you install the MSI file - with or without transformation, I don't get the addon. I get a "PDF link Helper" but no PDF Reader addon. If anyone has experienced this?

    Hi geoffubazi,

    The "Adobe PDF Reader" Addon should install even if you run the .msi file.

    Check under the add on-"run without authorization" option, as shown in the screenshot below and it will list the "Adobe PDF Reader" Add on

  • Adobe PDF Reader has support for broadcast all rendered document content in a browser?

    Adobe PDF Reader has support for broadcast all rendered document content in a browser? I have to make the document PDF in browsers using the streaming so that the user can see the first pages, while the rest of the pages in the document is loading in the background. Could someone please confirm if this capability of streaming is supported by Adbobe Reader?

    I tried below approach and noticed that the document is not rendered in IE at all (I see a blank page). However, in Chrome, I see the rendering of the document, but the content is not rendered correctly (I mean that some of the content is rendered. In addition, images and tables not is not made properly).

    Code snippet:

    =========

    Response.ClearHeaders ();

    Response.ClearContent;

    Response.ContentType = "application/pdf";

    Response.AddHeader ("content-Transfer-Encoding", "binary");

    Response.AddHeader ("Content-Disposition", "inline; exit = filename"+".pdf");

    Response.AddHeader ("Pragma", "no-cache, no-store");

    Response.AddHeader ("Content-Length", stream. Length.ToString ());

    Response.BufferOutput = false;

    const int bufferLen = 2048;

    ubyte [] buffer = new byte [bufferLen];

    int count = 0;

    While ((count = stream. Read (buffer, 0, bufferLen)) > 0)

    {

    Response.BinaryWrite (buffer);

    }

    Response.End)

    Adobe Reader has very sophisticated support for broadcast in a browser, but using this code, you have disabled.

    Your code offers you the PDF file in one piece - Adobe Reader has no choice other than to accept the piece in the order in which send you it.

    However, if you use a PDF by http URL, and it is optimized for fast web view and it is displayed in the browser window, and the agent viewing is Adobe Reader (usually is not the case with Chrome), then it will launch several requests to the server for the beaches of bytes according to the needs.

    It is theoretically possible for a script to support this, but the script must do a range support full http/1.1 byte, supporting several repeated calls. It's complicated enough that I have ever seen.

    If you can redirect to a URL, it will get done.

  • Why can't I change adobe pdf reader?

    I have been using the package adobe editing documents, but since a week I'm getting error messages saying that player has not the ability to access this file, I open the file and present_ can someone please help as I don't want to pay for an obsolete product

    Hi margueriteb,

    Are you using one of the online services of Acrobat, as ExportPDF and access to this service from drive? Several weeks, there was an update so that earlier versions of the player no longer have access to online services. Please visit: Error Message: "Drive doesn't have the ability to access this service."

    You can download the latest version of the Reader, Acrobat Reader DC, from this page: https://get.adobe.com/reader.

  • Just purchased Adobe pdf reader Adobe Pro DC have Mac. Refusing to download. So they took my money and once again these guys here make it really difficult to recover.  So, how can I get an immediate refund?

    I acquired DC pro Adobe to allow my Mac read and edit PDF files. Surprise, surprise, it will not download successfully despite repeated attempts: will not go beyond 50%. SO HOW CAN I GET A REFUND? It seems impossible to communicate with these guys live. This isn't the behavior of a reasonable provider that makes it very easy to con them directly and get an immediate refund of a product that does not like announced. There may be some stuff for this: but nothing is obvious in this surreal anti-paradis.

  • Adobe PDF Reader - control ActiveX Internet Explorer 11 fails with unspecified error.

    Hello, I'm responsoible to our company's web applications. Part of this application displays PDF files into the browser. Please read the overview of things that I already tried before offering suggestions. I write here before raising the issue through CC for the support teams in the hope that someone is aware of the solution or workaround.

    Recently, we received a large number of requests for assistance regarding files PDF no longer display in the browser window on Internet Explorer 11 despite the current plugins and update being installed. I have reproduced this problem on several machines now. All are running Windows 7 Professional x 64 with IE11, and all Microsoft and Adobe updates are up-to-date. I have limited access to test on other combinations of BONE; However, given the number of customers who have called us, I am sure that the issue is widespread.

    When you try to instantiate the ActiveX control, there is a non-specific error returned: "Error". The following code in the console displays the message:

    try {var ax = new ActiveXObject ("AcroPDF.PDF") ;} catch (e) {console.log (e) ;}

    • I tried using the latest version of the plugin installed by XI Acrobat or Adobe Reader XI (11.06.70). Uninstalling and reinstalling does not solve the problem.
    • I ran the installation repair on the Help menu in Reader and Acrobat, nothing helps.
    • ActiveX filtering does not cause the issue. I checked that it is disabled. The control is not blocked by the preference of the user. I checked that it is authorized to run the site in my configuration.
    • Internet Explorer, Enhanced Protected Mode is not causing the problem. I tested in several security zones and lowered all minimum of IE to the strict security settings.
    • The number of instances of increments AcroPDF.dll during an attempt to instantiate the control, then it is called by EI; "Error" is returned from the DLL not the OLE Automation Server.
    • Other ActiveX controls can be instantiated and will work perfectly, including controls only 32-bit.
    • I tried editing the registry has suggested to "HCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\TabProcGrowth" (DWORD) to 1 to no effect.

    Thank you, everyone for the advice.

    I fixed this problem by following these steps:

    -Reset IE11 (Tools-> Internet options-> advanced)

    -Start the ActiveX Installer service in services

  • Control in VBA with Adobe Reader PDF reader

    Can I use control "Adobe PDF Reader" on a VBA UserForm on a machine with only Adobe Reader (v9) installed?

    I would like to create a shape similar to the one described on page 25 in http://wwwimages.Adobe.com/www.Adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/DevNet/reader/PDFs/reader_ov rview.pdf

    Whenever I drag the control of "Adobe PDF Reader" in my form, I instantly get an "Unknown error" message from VBA.

    When I try to run

    Void pdf()
    Dim an as new AcroPDFLib.AcroPDF
    a.SRC = "test.pdf".
    End Sub

    I get an "error Automation, unspecified error" on the line a.src = "test.pdf".

    Any guidance is appreciated.

    Use: something like:

    Set oReader = createObject ("AcroPDF.PDF.1")
    MsgBox (oReader.getVersions)

    contact/work with the drive object.

  • Adobe Acrobat PDF reader

    I was looking for a copy of the Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare") and found this link put in place by GPO (govt printing)

    http://www.GPO.gov/FDsys/pkg/Plaw-111publ148/PDF/Plaw-111publ148.PDF

    When I clicked it, expecting to see the document I wanted, I got this error message instead:

    There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. If this is the case, please exit and try again (3:15)

    This message makes no sense whatever. Has anyone else seen this kind of thing? If so, what can be done about it?

    The Adobe Acrobat reader software is installed correctly. It works fine with PDF documents, I have downloaded in the past. But when I visit sites that I had these things, to download them again, I got the same absurd error. I have re-downloaded the software Acrobat reader of Adobe and re-installed, but that does not change.

    Hello Jim, I want to share this link with you
    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Acrobat/KB/error-Acrobat-Reader-running-cannot.html

    I looked at the error code (15:3), and this is what I pulled up. First, try these solutions.

  • How can I get Adobe Document Reader PC outright instead of buy a one year membership?

    I want to buy the PDF Document DC Pro outright instead of use a year, payment of a subscription month. Please notify

    There are no products such as Adobe Document Reader PC or PDF Document DC Pro.

    We will assume that you really mean Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

    On the Adobe website at Adobe Document Cloud | Adobe Acrobat DC , you will see two options. The first for Acrobat DC with services is for monthly subscription at $14.99 per month with an annual commitment, $24.99 per month with no commitment. The second for Acrobat DC desktop is for the version of perpetual license $ 449.00. Your choice! You can buy through the website or through Adobe authorized dealers.

    Note however, that although Adobe provides security and bug fix updates on a quarterly basis (or more) for the product under license for the duration of the product's life (generally up to two versions more come out), only the licensed subscription receives new and features security updates as well as the quarterly (or more) and bug fix updates.

  • When I updated my Adobe Acrobat plug-ins it uninstalled Adobe Reader and installed Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. Can I use Adobe Reader instead?

    I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Firefox said that my plugin Adobe Acrobat was outdated, so I've updated. It uninstalled my Adobe Reader Version 11.0.12.18 and replaced it with Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 2015.008.20082 DC. I did not like this program, and more I read there are still bugs in there. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled Adobe Reader Version 11.0.12.18. I went into the menu of options of Firefox under applications and changed the options Adobe to use Adobe Reader as the default application for PDF files. It is a safe choice, or should I leave Firefox dictate what PDF program I use? I am concerned about safety issues. Any opinions?

    I think that your question has been answered mainly in this thread: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1079182

    In my opinion, you can trust Adobe to keep the series XI Reader updated for awhile. It is completely safe is impossible to know, given that vulnerabilities are often discovered and kept secret.
