Instructions to remove the keyboard of Satellite S855

My friend poured water over his S855 keyboard and the computer does not work. As this voids the warranty, I wanted to remove the keyboard, dry the unit and inspect/test for damage. I have worked on many laptops, but am not able to understand how to remove the keyboard of this particular model.

Can anyone provide detailed instructions as how to remove the keyboard? It would be much appreciated!

Thank you
Kevin

  • Satellite R630-14 days-how do I remove the keyboard?

    Hello

I bought a Toshiba Satellite R630-14 days, and I would remove keyboard to clean.
I tried to remove the plastic between the keys case, but I could not.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    > I would like to remove from the keyboard to clean.
In my opinion it of not necessary to remove the keyboard to clean it up.

First of all it of possible to remove the single key top. In which case you would not be able to remove dirt, you can first remove the CAP. But be careful...

In your case, I would use a piece of cotton and a few drops of alcohol to clean the keyboard

  • Satellite C855 - 2 EV: how to remove the keyboard to replace the WLan

    Recently, I bought a Toshiba Satellite C855 - 2 EV.
As the performance of the wireless network card is a little disappointing, I bought a replacement NIC.

However when I tried to change the map, I was unable to open the laptop.
There are a few screws under the keyboard that must be unscrewed before being opened.

Unfortunately I could not remove the keyboard.
Does anyone know how the keyboard can be removed?

    Thank you!

I hope you know that replacement of a card WLAN or upgrade is not supported for doing something like that will void you the warranty. Another thing is the compatibility. Toshiba doesn't offer information on compatible WLAN cards so I m asking you already bought the new wireless network card.

Are you sure that it will properly work 100%?
Please think twice before you do anything. In my opinion, it is not good idea to cancel the warranty for the new laptop.

  • Remove the top of Satellite 1100 / keyboard cover

Hi, I have a 100 satellite that I need to remove the top cover to get to the hard drive. I removed all the screws on the back and when I try to remove the lid seems stuck near the keyboard just above where is the mouse glidpath. Anyone has any idea how I would remove the cover completely to get hard disk?
    Thank you very much...

    Dear Neil

Trust me on this device it's very complicated to do. If you want to remove the HARD drive, you should separate the top cover (after removing the keyboard).

-In the bottom corner, there are 10 screws that must be removed.
-When the keyboard is removed there are six screws which fix the top cover
    -Disconnect the touchpad
-Lift the top cover by pulling gently upward from the rear corners and release locks on the front
-If I remember correctly the HARD disk is fixed with a screw
-After removing the screws, pull forward on the HARD drive to the connector on the system board

If you are not familiar with the assembly/disassembly procedure please don t do it yourself.

Sorry if my explanation is not accurate enough, but on this path, it is not easy to explain each step of manipulation.

    Good bye

  • How to remove the keyboard on my Satellite Pro C850 - 14 c

    Hey, quick question.

How can I remove the keyboard of the laptop inside to give a cleaning?

    Thank you.

    Hello

I read that it is not very easy
You will need to remove the CD/DVD drive first.
Then, you will need to use a plastic stick to push the back of the keyboard of the ODD housing slot. The keyboard should be pushed until it lifts the corner on the upper surface of the case.
Then using the same slice of plastic lever to insert between the keyboard and top box, then gently lift the edges of the keyboard until all locks are unlocked.

By the way: this would be the warranty

  • Satellite L745 - how to remove the keyboard safely?

    Hello, people!

I need help please. As the topic says, how to remove the keyboard?
It's because I shared tea on my keyboard and, fortunately, no key was damaged. However, now it is sticky, and it is quite annoying!

Can someone please help me with the entrance keys, Shift, back space * and other small keys at home.

    Thanks in advance.

    Sticky Keys?
I really put t know if you will be able to clean the little mechanism under the CAP.

OK you can try it. What you need to do is remove the key cap first. Pull it gently on the floor. It is set with small farmers in plastic. When the CAP is removed, you can check the situation and try to clean it up.

When finished put the CAP in place and push it all smoothly. You will hear clicking noise and everything should be OK again. Do it for all the keys.

Please take it very easy. If you damage this small mechanism you can immediately order new lkeyboard.

    Hello Bob

The keyboard replacement procedure is almost on all Toshiba laptops. At, first of all it must remove the cover above the keyboard (where the buttons are placed).

After doing this to remove the keyboard is very easy.

BTW: is your laptop under warranty? Please be careful about this.

  • Equium P200 1IR - how to remove the keyboard internal?

This portable soup spilled on the keyboard and now will not start, even with a wired USB keyboard. I want to disconnect the internal keyboard, because it seems that is what causes the problem. (I have experience). But I don't see how.

I did some research on the web and looked at http://www.irisvista.com/ (mentioned in another thread), but not found anything that seems applicable to this model.

    Hey,.

You should know that these disassembly guides not available in Internet so it s just good luck if you find guides or photos how to disassemble a laptop. These manuals are available for the service providers allowed according to me

Anyway, normally it s not difficult to swap the keyboard. As far as I know, so you must remove the door-keyboard. You can do this with a thin tool
After that, you should a few screws that attach the keyboard you have to remove and that s all

On the Web site that you posted, you can find more instructions for Satellite P200. Perhaps this model P200 is similar to your check it!

But to be honest, I doubt that your laptop would start after removing the keyboard, but you can try it. In the worst cases, you need professional help. An authorized service provider can check all hardware components. :)

  • Tips to remove the keyboard g6-2300

I want to clean my fan because he started to make noise but to join the fan, I have to remove the keyboard.  I have read the instructions and looked at the video, but the output of the keyboard does not work. I'm looking for some advice as to what I might be missing or if there is a better way.  Here's what I did:

-After turned it off, removing the battery and power supply remove the hard drive, remove the optical drive.

-I then remove the screws from the keyboard and press on in the output port of the keyboard. The keyboard does not move.

-J' tried pressing in the version where the optical drive has been (as I saw on another issue) still doesn't move.

-J' tried to remove all the screws for the cover and was able to off the edges of the coverage, but still at the center of the keyboard is well fixed and there is not giving the outline of the keyboard out of the case.

Any suggestions for what I can try?   I have the model of 2368-ca d6.

I thought I should update that I thought about it in case anyone has the same problem as me.

Do not use the keyboard exit hole to release the keyboard. The keyboard has clips all around the edge and the hole of output of the keyboard allows you to press the center of the keyboard that is not useful because it spreads the pressure to all the clips that results in not enough pressure to actually jump clips.

Once you have removed the screws of the keyboard and the optical drive, if you look in the opening where you insert the optical disc, there is an opening to the keyboard that you can access. It is as the '+' on the numeric keypad. I used a phillips to hold it and managed to release the clips on the right side of the keyboard. Then, I could return the laptop and work my way around the edge of the keypad releasing each clip.

Can someone give me more detailed information about how to remove the keyboard of my R400. I want to insert the SIM card, but I'm worried about damaging my new laptop.

    Thank you very much
    G. Elmo

    Hi mate,

To add or remove a SIM card, you must perform the following steps:

    1. your machine must be OFF!
    2. Remove and unplug any cable attached and device (USB, parallel, etc.)
    3. remove the battery
    4. remove the keyboard by pulling cover upward where are the grooves on each side of the hood. You can also use a small flat blade screwdriver or your nails to pull up.
    5. remove the 2 screws that hold the keyboard down.
6 pull the keyboard slowly and gently up, you pull it toward you.
    7. the SIM card slot is on the right side of the motherboard, pull the crack slightly on the left side to pull up. It s like the removal of a SIM of a mobile phone :)
8 put the SIM card into the slot. The smart gold SIM card must be on top. (You should see the chip during the installation of the card)
    9. click on the slot facing downwards and push it gently to the right to lock it.
10 install the keyboard by placing the clips under the palm rest.
    11 Don t forget the screws ;)
    12 and the keyboard cover.
    13 fact.
