  This problem may be caused by the incompatible driver Motion Eye Video Capture Device. A test to see if your motion eye works very well with the software provided by Sony.

  Hi, I have a VAIO motion eye webcam E series VPCEA16FG stopped working sometimes it works sometimes, it isn't, even can not find the driver or hardware installed on the laptop when it does not work I tried to back into market and stop down several times but nothing helped. is there a permanent soloution for this? also sometimes it says that the webcam may be in use with other software I have no way to verify what software may be clashing with ARCSoft Companion.

  No help from this Forum, but I got the Motion Eye Cam working again. He would sometimes work for a minute or two and then quit. I thought it would be connected USB so I downloaded the registry USB patch (and a whole bunch of other updates and more) and installed it. After the patch USB Webcam has started working again. I don't know if it was the fix, but its working now. The Vaio "Updater" program did not work (it should be updated as well) so I had no idea there were so much software upgrades available for this laptop. I highly suggest that you check the Sony Web site for downloads (if you did not) available for your computer. Good luck.

  I suggest you follow the methods listed below. Before continuing, please answer the question below.

  Method 1: Run the hardware troubleshooter and check.

  Follow the steps to run the Troubleshooter:

  (a) press the Windows key + C on your keyboard to display the bar of charms.
