Integrating external code to receive faxes

Dear expert HP,

I would like to know if we can summon or become part of a code external, i.e. java, ecm, webservice fax upon receipt of the fax machine.

If HP devices, what model of fax machine and what functions allow us to do?

Appreciate your comments that we implement some application directly through fax machine process into our application.

Some models:

(1) Officejet Pro 8600

(2) Officejet Pro 8630, 8620, 8610

(3) Officejet Pro 276

(4) Officejet Pro X 476, 576

    LEM,

The problem has been that bad, I have installed the software.  You must go through a stop, taken modem, start and run the Setup program in that order.  It's all working now, thanks for the reply.

  • HP color laserjet cm2320 does not receive faxes

We have just this printer, but when we try to send faxes just, it sounds and sounds like a normal phone even if it is properly configured to receive faxes.

Are asking you why an external device with an integrated (didn't need a computer) fax machine does not work in a Windows Vista forum?

Contact HP.  The functions Copier and Scanner this device don't even NEED a computer at all - much less _ Windows - to work.  Make sure you only have everything connected correctly.

I suggest the following documents from HP...

  • How to configure my Mac (OSX Lion) to receive faxes directly from my HP Officejet 6500 +.

I have a Mac OS x Lion and a HP Officejet 6500 +. I would like to save incoming faxes directly to my computer, rather than having the 6500 to print them. I installed the driver of HP6500 on Mac: print and outgoing fax jobs. Using the configuration Print & Scan on Mac System Preferences, I can select the Officejet 6500 fax, click on "receive options" and turn on "receive faxes on this computer": I got him to answer after 1 ring and save faxes to an appropriate folder.

The problem is that the incoming faxes even print directly on the 6500 and are not registered on the computer.

I tried following the instructions on the manual for 6500 located here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02519721.pdf but the indications on page 57 for the implementation using the HP tell me to select the "applications" icon in the toolbar and it isn't here.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Well, this got me half way there, thank you.

Once you have installed the software which recommends ShlomiL, then you must enable the option Archive digital as described, which won't be available unless the device is physically connected via a USB cable. Wireless is not an option. The value "Digital Fax archiving" 'Save to Folder' and then choose a folder that is accessible in writing-world. The folder must be specific for incoming and used faxes for anything else! The 'Notification of incoming Fax' value to what you want.

Then go into the front panel of the 6500 and disable printing fax. (There is an option buried under "base set up the fax / Fax HP Digital")

Finally, create an automator workflow that automatically prints any picture of new place in the folder of incoming faxes created there are two steps. Set it to print on a printer laserjet cheap rather than ink-jet 6500 ridiculously expensive. (Or skip this step if you're ok with not having a copy of incoming faxes).

You can ignore the options useful and well-designed integrated on your Apple about "receive faxes on this computer". HP only plays nice with that.

I still hate the HP, but at least now I didn't spend $35 for a new inkjet cartridge every two weeks.

  • How come my received fax fax Fax?

I can fax sent out... How to fix get fax from the direction opposite?

    Hello

Looks like you are able to send faxes and not able to receive it, try the following steps and check:

Also answering these questions that would help us to provide the best solution:

    1. What is the brand and model of the fax you are using?

    2. what exactly happens when you try to receive a fax?

    3. were there any changes made to the computer before the question?

How you can receive faxes depends on the question of if your computer is connected to a fax modem or a fax server.

If your computer is connected to a fax server, you don't need to take action to receive a fax. Instead, whenever your computer is connected to the network, new faxes are automatically sent to your Windows Fax and Scan Inbox. If you use a top or an external fax modem, you must choose how to receive faxes. Take these steps if you are using a top or an external fax modem.

  • Photosmart 7510 - eFax and fresh toll to send and receive faxes

Hi, one of the reasons why I bought my Photosmart 7510, was the free eFax features 20 pages sent and 20 pages receive FREE. So, when I used the eFax for the first time, he gave me a (long-distance) number. I had no other choice but to accept that number. So whenever someone could send me a fax (even if it's in the same area code), they will have to pay toll. It is not too bad. But when I sent a fax to a local recipient (same code regional I), the outgoing fax number (10 digits) turn at the 01 11 then the fax number! If I understand correctly, I had to dial a number of countries to send a fax to my neighbor. Is there something I'm missing or 20 pages are free but you will have to pay toll every time I send or receive faxes?

With eFax, your faxes are sent through the internet, not the phone line.  Phone connections are all made with the eFax service but your part of the process of eFax is done through your internet connection.

  • Difficult to send and receive faxes long distances

    Hello-

I am running Window Vista Ultimate 32-bit with SP2.  I have bad to send and receive faxes.  Particularly faxes sent or from another area code (IE over long distances).  I have an Agere Systems PCI-sV92PP.  I use McAfee antivirus and have followed all the steps using Vista.

I tried to update the driver with no luck.  The error code I get when sending, said "cannot be sent due to an unexpected error".  "The error I get when receiving is call cannot respond by fax.

Something of note, when you send, if I click on the box next to contacts for formatting a business rule, the country / region default is UK and USA not.  I tried to change the sending, but it doesn't seem to help, and I was able to change the default value.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

If you are sure that your Modem configuration, drivers and compatibility with Vista, the modem is correct see if a third-party program is causing the problem, maybe McAfee interferes?

When you mention 'long distance' this means that you can send faxes, have you already sent and received a fax with your current settings?

  • HP Officejet Pro 6830: Receive faxes with a HP officejet pro 6830 w / answering machine

I had an OLD officejet model that could receive faxes even if the answering machine was not connected directly to the fax machine the 6830 manual says that it must be directly connected.  My current Brother printer does NOT receive faxes because of this problem.  Anyone know if I directly connect my machine to this model (Officejet 6830) to make it work?  I won't buy it if it will not work.

    Hello @JPJ408,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are looking to buy a printer all-in-one HP Officejet Pro 6830 for fax purposes. While the User Guide advise you to plug the answering machine directly on the back of the Officejet unit, it is not necessary.

If you have a fax with an answering machine on her line, the only requirement is that the fax is set to two rings higher than the answering machine. Most of the responders are put back on 4 rings. As a result, you would set your Officejet to automatically pick up on 6 rings. In this way, when a voice is heard, you can manually respond to the call before the answering machine to pick up. If you are not home and then people can still leave messages on your answering machine. If you have a fax to come through, do not respond. The answering machine will pick up after 4 rings. At this point the fax machine "listen" on answering machine message and if fax tones are detected, the fax will take over and receive the fax.

I hope this helps clear up any confusion.

  • Can not receive faxes?

I have HP Officejet Pro 8500 a Plus all-in-One printer, Windows 7, I can send faxes but cannot receive faxes? Can someone help me? I have a TV Brighthouse cable with telephone with answering service.

Normally, it's something in the configuration that prevents the fax from the reception.  This document should work you through the problem.  Let me know what happens.

    "receive faxes manually.

I pushed this option and the incoming fax was printed.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 spits out a blank second page when receiving faxes

I have a brank new Officejet Pro8600 and it's the same as my last HP all-in-one has started doing.  Even if he receives only one fax from page, it seems to read as two pages and also spits out a blank second page.

My frustration is more, because I just replaced my last all-in-one to do the same thing.  It's a waste of paper and very boring.

I'm happy that I got this sent to me, because I was really pulling my hair, and it looks like you are too.  I finally came up with a workaround, that nobody at HP and Verizon could help.

Finally, I changed the configuration of the fax on legal size paper, and it works like a charm.  For some reason, it was as if the received fax was not aligning with the dimensions of the letter, but now that I changed the settings, I have more the problem of paper all this waste.
