    Hello:

    Yes, the driver is indeed...

You can find it on the link below.  I want all drivers, wake so your drive will work on several PC.

The second file listed is for XP 32 bit. Ignore the description of the motherboard.  Drivers for laptop and desktop are provided.

    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=21407&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%20XP%20Professional * & DownloadType=.

The best way to know which AHCI driver you need is just go to Device Manager and click to expand the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers section and you will find the name of the driver you need.

If I'm not mistaken, you should see the Intel (r) 7 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller.

You can find this driver listed in the iaAHCI.inf file in the download above.

  • E420 - SATA driver for Windows XP

    Hello

I installed Windows XP x 64 on my Thinkpad E420 a few months ago.  Get the operating system to work with 64-bit drivers was a major pain, but I finally got it to work.

Yesterday, as XP x 64 became slower and slower, I uninstalled and installed the 32 bit instead (being fully aware that I won't be able to use my 8 GB, only 2.8.  Will not not to do a lot of school work on XP anyway).

I was hoping that I would have finally managed to install the SATA driver, but no.

It's quite annoying to start the BIOS and change the drive mode from AHCI to compatibility every time I start Windows XP (and the reverse for Windows 7, too).

First, I installed the chipset driver Intel here:

    http://support.Lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?docid=DS013906

Then the video driver and tried to install the AHCI support problematic:

    http://support.Lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?docid=DS014061

[Windows XP] (without floppy drive attached)
      1. Enable Compatibility mode in BIOS setup.
a.Press F1 during power up before entering Windows
b.Go to Config tab, and select "Serial ATA (SATA)" and press enter.
c.choose "Compatibility" mode, and press F10 to save and exit.
      2. Install Windows XP and Service Pack 3.
      3. Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
      4. Right-click My Computer, then click Properties
      5. Click the Hardware tab
      6. Click Device Manager
      7. Expand the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers category.
      8. Right-click "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller"
and then select Update Driver Software.
      9. Select "No, not this time" and click "Next".
     10. Select "Install from a list or specific location".
     11. Click "Next" button.
     12. Select "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install".
     13. Click "Next" button.
     14. Select "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller" and click "Next" button.
     15. Click "Finish" button and click "Yes" button to restart system.
     16. After system stable, Click Start, then click Control Panel.
     17. Perform steps 4 to 12...
     18. Click "Hard Disk" button.
     19. Click "Browse...", then locate the extracted driver folder
and select the driver INF file, iaAHCI.inf.
     20. Click "Open", and then click "OK" button.

     23. An Update Driver Warning windows will appear, just click "Yes" to continue.

     25. When prompted for restart, Click "Yes".
     26. Enable AHCI mode in BIOS setup.
a.Press F1 during power up before entering Windows
b.Go to Config tab, and select "Serial ATA (SATA)" and press enter.
c.choose "AHCI" mode, and press F10 to save and exit.

I can't use a floppy drive, and the main problem is that I did not "Standard dual channel PCI IDE Controller" in my device manager.  Only this (sorry for the French):

    http://ImageShack.us/photo/my-images/13/devicebk.PNG/

I tried selecting the first choice (primary IDE channel), but I get a BSOD.

What should I choose, instead?  I'm doing something wrong?

    Thank you very much!

    I have it!

It was actually very simple to install, in fact.

I reinstalled the operating system, and what is important, it is necessary to install the SATA driver immediately after installing Windows XP.

The problem is that I installed the Intel chipset driver first...  Of course, that has caused the problem.  The SATA driver must be the first driver to install.

    Simple as that!

    Dear community,

  • Aspire E5 - 511G: display driver intel graphics drivers hd for windows 8 (r) is no longer

    Hi all

    I bought my Aspire E5 - 511G a few days.

    I have successfully installed Windows 7 Professional (x 64).

I installed all the drivers downloaded form the support also section successfully.

The problem is that about every 5 ~ 10 minutes, I get the following message:

"display driver intel graphics drivers hd for windows 8 (r) stopped responding and has recovered".

This message itself is not a problem. The problem is that during Skype video calls after receiving this message, I see more or my own video and video of the callee.

Not only that, restart the call does not correct the problem.

The only solution is to restart Skype, but it does not work every time.

I had a similar problem with youtube videos, but I solved the problem by setting NVIDIA as graphics processor preferred for the browser application, but I have no option for Skype.

Can someone please? It is very very annoying.

    problem

Looks like that I managed to solve the problem.

Firstly, the link you provided was worng. The appropriate driver URL is https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24329&lang=eng

As you can see it is the same driver for windows 7/8/8.1-64-bit.

Second, when I download and install it I get a message that my driver is up to date already (actuall I had other issues but that's another story)

In a Word, to install it, I did the following:

1 downloaded the zip of the "win64_153330.zip" driver version

2 extract the zip file to a folder.

    3. in the windows Device Manager, I uninstalled the graphics driver intel existing HD. So my screen stopped working (which is expected).

4 restart the laptop, windows loaded with the default VGA driver.

    5. Device Manager open, the crux of the VGA, click right and choose driver update driver.

    6. in the Update Driver Wizard I chose the location of already extracted files (step 2).

7 installing the driver successfully passed and asked windows to restart.

Now, after the reboot, I have a Skype has appealed for about 20 minutes and did not get the pilot error.

Also played some videos youtube - new error now.

    Summary:

The current version of the driver (of work) is 10.18.10.3958

The version of the driver provided by Acer's 10.18.10.3621

I'll post an update a few days more later how things happen.

  • Help: "Intel Matrix Storage Manager for Windows XP" Installation failed

First of all, has anyone successfully lowered their vista to xp in a machine SL400/SL500?

I had just followed the "Windows XP clean installation/Downgrade Guide" here:

    http://Forum.NotebookReview.com/showthread.php?t=188992

and got stuck in step "Install Intel Matrix Storage Manager for Windows XP"

The 'Intel Matrix Storage Manager for Windows XP"for SL400/SL500 (Note: this driver is different from T/R61) I downloaded the support of lenovo cannot be installed. Every time when I followed the instructions of the official support page to run 2ksetup.exe, he gave me a saying invite "installation failed." I have also tried to run "2ksetup.exe" and "2ksetup.ini", according to the official support for unattended Setup page and nothing was (apparently it doesn't have too).

PS: this installation is done after that the chipset intel is installed as indicated on page 'guide' from notebookreview.

I also tried to use the driver for T/R 61, since in the official support page, it seems compatible. The installation can be performed successfully, but when I switch the 'compatibility' to 'AHCI' SATA drive in the bios, I can't start windows (every time it showed a blue screen and restarts automatically). When I went back, everything became normal.

Someone has any idea how to handle this?

Clean XP install on my SL400 worked like a breeze. Actually a little felt uncomfortable having a complete set of official XP drivers available, because my previous installation was on a HP with almost no XP support beyond what users were mosaicked together in forums.

I don't like the idea of changing the setting in the BIOS SATA back and back, then I slipstreamed driver ICH9M AHCI (with SP3) by using the MSFN guide. After that, XP installs without complaining, and it was just a matter of download and to install the drivers using the wire of notebookreview.com as a checklist on what to install and in what order.

Some information on the Guide from notebookreview:

    • I installed the Intel Matrix Storage Manager normally; didn't need to follow the instructions in the guide. Probably does not need to install at all, but you get the utility so you can check NCQ etc. works.
    • ACPI power management is named ThinkPad Power Management driver in the list of drivers for SL.
    • If integrate you the SP3, you will have already sound driver UAA, so you can skip that.
    • Skip Atmel TPM (Trusted Platform Module). There is no driver for the SL series.

    Hello

read the message below * I * wonder about this anwer * support Toshiba! Why * not * install Win 7 on a 'former '? I did the same and it works very well. But I had the same problem as Assim. And everyone knows that Intel didn't intend to allocate a Win 7 driver for this chip (INTEL 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics). In my opinion, this is not correct behavior.

I think TOSHIBA or INTEL should allocate such a driver for their clients. It would be a minimum of support. Maybe you think...

    Hello

I m wondering that you have installed Windows 7 on this good old classic. In my opinion Windows XP would be the best choice, but ok, you can do what you want ;)

Anyway, AFAIK your laptop is equipped with an Intel graphics card then I recommend to download the driver form Intel directly because the Web from Toshiba site displays only the Windows XP display drivers.
    http://www.Intel.com

    Check this box!

    Hey Buddy,

Why is this Toshiba support response? I have never seen anyone from Toshiba here so it s called user in forum.

I put t know where found this answer, but I agree with it. In my opinion Windows XP seems to be the best choice in old enough Satellite L10.

In any case, if Intel doesn't provide new drivers Windows 7 for this chipset, it s not a Toshiba error. You can only try the Vista driver because most Vista drivers work on Windows 7.
