I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.
(a) what is the brand and model number. your system?
(b) what exactly is the problem get you connect your system to the USB devices? Please provide any related error message?
(c) you did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?
The question could arise if the system has a problem pulling drivers stored in the driver store. To precisely diagnose the issue, I would suggest trying the following methods and check if the problem persists.
Method 1:
Please try the fixit (s) provided below which will help you solve common problems associated with devices and USB ports.
- Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows
- Diagnose and automatically fix the Windows USB problems
If method 1 does not work, try Method 2.
Method 2:
Disable USB selective suspend framework. This method prevents your power off USB device.
- Click the Start button, type power management in the search box, and then click choose a power plan.
- Next to your currently selected plan, click Change Plan settings.
- Click change advanced power settings.
- Click in the box USBsettings, and then expand the USB selective suspend settings.
- Click on the area, and then click the menu drop down and select disabled.
- If you use a laptop, click the cell, and then click the menu drop down and select disabled.
- Click apply, and then click OK.
Now try to install the USB drivers and check the issue.
Method 3:
This method will install the latest drivers from device to your USB device.
- Click the Start button, type Windows Update in the search box, and then click Windows Update in the results pane.
- Click find updates. When the scan finished, click optional review updates.
- Click the check box next to the update, and then click install updates.
- If you are prompted, read the license agreement, then click I agree.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to download and install updates.
- If you are prompted, restart your computer.

If the device fails after updating the driver, you can try to roll back the driver with its previous version.

USB drivers are part of the Windows operating system.
The USB ports should work after the installation of the Windows operating system and, therefore, there is no such thing as a USB driver for the USB 2.0 standard.In addition, the chipset driver must be installed.
I checked the proposed link in your ad and here, you can download the Intel chipset utility.

bought an envy 17. was to win 10.
Don't want to win10.
There is a section with Win7 drivers on the HP site. Planned, (that you can select for win7, most of the pilots would be available.) Drivers for usb do not seem to be included, thought that they would be in the chipset drivers. Seem not to be. Can only find drivers for the camera in win10 etc, is not disturbed. Will not be using, if I should not, plug usb cam, as long as I can get the usb work.
So where can I find drivers for usb to my desire. As there is a section of win7 driver? But not usb drivers.
WHY should I use Win10. Don't want. If it is impossible to get drivers, will come back to this one at 10 and sell on. Don't NEVER buy HP again once, after purchasing the HP for more than 20 years. Want x 360 m6 w103dx: could not load on Windows 7 x 64 usb drivers
I have a HP Envy laptop 360 m6 x. It came with 10 Windows installed which I don't want to keep, so I installed Windows 7 x 64 in a space different than HD, and not all that I'm fine. After understand I had to DISABLE Wecure Boot, I installed Windows 7, and most everything OK, except Windows 7 on this desire x 360 does not recognize my USB ports. I tried looking for the HP sites for chipsets and usb drivers but none will allow me to install them on the Windows 7 operating system. Other sites have said I can't install Windows 7 on this laptop, but it's not true, just that I can not load the USB drivers for it.
Is this possible?

I recently formatted my laptop and reloaded windows 7 and lost my 2 left side USB drivers and the drver HDMI. I tried several searches but come back to the top with nothing every time.
I managed to get the driver for the HDMI, but still nothing on the 2 USB ports.
in Device Manager, USB 2 ports are yellow! in a triangle. I tried to update the drivers from there and on the HP support assistant.

Update of Windows 8, incompatible usb drivers?
I use a HP Pavilion dv6-7029tx running windows 7 Home premium 64-bit
Im trying to upgrade to windows 8 Pro and depending on the upgrade wizard the following programs is not compatible and must be uninstalled.
* Intel (R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver
* Broadcom Bluetooth Software
It does nothing notable after I uninstall broadcom, but when I uninstall the usb driver, usb ports do not work and nor does my mouse, and I was going to continue with the installation and fix it later, but during a restart (mandatory before you continue the installation of windows 8) windows start and had to do a repair of the startup... after which I have re installed the usb drivers...
So my question is...
Is there a way I can go to windows 8 without losing my USB ports or have I just lost $ 20?

Compaq Presario CQ62 USB drivers not installed?
I get these annoying popup messages indicating that he has a problem to install the USB drivers. When I go into the Device Manager there is no exclamation mark next to all of the drivers in question. Here are as follows... 2936, 2937, 2938, 2939 293 a, 293C, 2934 and 2935. When I right click on them and get the drivers it gives me a warning that the new driver has been found to date but the problem install the new driver and I need to contact the manufacturer for a solution. Everything seems to work fine, but these popup messages appear on each startup, and it is rather boring. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also my computer has been updated to the latest version without any other question.

I bought a laptop HP - pavilion 17-f008sr Energy star (G7Y08EA).
There was a Windows 8 operating system. To work on this laptop, I installed a Windows 7 (64 bit) operating system.
That I started a system, I saw a problem with my USB in Device Manager (serial bus universal usb controller and Sm bus controller). As a result, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 did not work.
I spent a lot of time to find different drivers to try to solve this problem, but I still have it. Drivers usb Intel and pilots much even not work with my laptop and do not install it because I don't have a good system for a large part of the drivers I found. Please help, Im very tired and I don't know what to try. Bravo to all, who know ways to solve the problem with the lack of USB drivers.

For the smbus controller...
Here's what I did... I have zipped and attached below in attachments, the raw smbus controller driver files to decompress and install manually.
Download and unzip the file.
Go to Device Manager and click the controller smbus needing drivers. Click the driver tab. Click on set to update driver.
Select her browse my computer for driver software option and navigate to the driver folder that you unzipped.
Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and the driver should install. Then restart.

Hello! I have spent in my laptop for windows 7. I downloaded and installed all the drivers w7 since the support site. However, the icon of USB 3.0 in the Device Manager displays a yellow exclamation point. I tried to install the driver but it says that my system does not meet the requirements. In addition, the USB 2.0 hub shows nothing in Device Manager and all 3 USB ports don't work of course. Card reader driver is the same thing, but I don't need that. HP EliteDesk 800 G1 - lack of USB drivers
Hi all
IM in the envirnonment in education and the construction of a HP EliteDesk 800 G1, which requires to be configured correctly because of his being connected to a camera high speed.
It is installed with Windows x 64 with SP1 and full of updates as of 24/09/2014 and have downloaded and installed all the drivers on HP website (see below), but Device Manager still reports missing USB drivers?
Can someone advise as a matter of urgency?

I'm glad to know that you've posted on the forums of Windows 8.
I suggest to uninstall the driver and upgraded to Windows 8.
USB 3.0 driver Windows 8 has native box, which is automatically installed after upgrade to Windows 8.

I have synced my TX my Vista64 laptop computer bits and Windows 8.1 HP spectrum X 2 hybrid successfully through my USB cable.

Installation instructions for Windows 7 (from Aceeca) are included in the download.
Basic instructions:
1 download the drivers and extract them in the same folder. Remember the folder that you extracted to.
2. try to HotSync your device. It will fail.
3. open the Device Manager and look for the yellow Triangle next to the other "Acceca" or "'Palm device ' in the"Other devices"section."
4. right click on the device and choose "Update driver software".
5. choose "Browse my computer for software" and guide them to the folder that you extracted the drivers Aceeca.
6 choose 'Next' in the driver and then file location window tell him 'Confidence always Aceeca Ltd. software', then click on the button "install".
7. I received an error message (Vista64) who told me "the drivers have been installed, but the device could not be opened." I realized my TX had expired, and fell asleep. I tried a HotSync and it worked!Good luck!
NOTE: Palm Desktop 6.22 may only multimedia show and install. Here's how to fix this:
If Palm Desktop 6.2.2 shows only the media and installation, try this: right click on the shortcut for Palm Desktop, and then choose 'run as administrator '. Other modules should appear.
To Palm Desktop run as administrator every time in Windows 8 / 8.1:
Close to Palm Desktop, if it is open. (This is a very important thing to do when you use 6.2.2 - it has been known to lose data when a computer is shut down without closing the program!)
Right click on the desktop icon of Palm in the metro screen, then choose "open file location". You will now see the actual file for the shortcut.
Right-click on the file "Palm Desktop" shortcut, then properties. Now, choose the tab compatibility at the top.
At the bottom of the Compatibility tab is a checkbox: "run this program as an administrator", click OK.
Try to open the Palm Desktop, all parties must appear. You can see a box opens when you close the program asking "did the program runs correctly. I chose 'Yes', and it has been working fine since then!
If you are using a much older PalmOS device and try using Palm Desktop 4.x, you will need this additional patch Pimlico Software:

It is me, and after some research, I discovered the following trick that allows Device Manager to display hidden and devices not present.
Open Notepad and paste the following two lines are:
Set DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES = 1
Start devmgmt.msc
Save it as SetDev.bat in My Documents.
Open My Documents in Windows Explorer and double-click SetDev.bat. Device Manager opens.
On the view menu, select Show hidden devices.
You can now see in the other position of the device with a yellow triangle against it.
You can now proceed to install the drivers according to the instructions.
Note that the driver supports most versions of Palm OS. "I actually use an Aceeca Meazura 1000 rugged PDA running OS 4.1 - bobboffin.
