Intel Wifi 5100 found on Satellite P300-1DB

Good afternoon!

If anyone can, Please * HELP! *

I just bought the Toshiba Satellite P300-1 dB, and from the moment I started, I had problems with my wireless internet connection.

The Intel 5100 Wifi can not find the connectivity (when I know for sure that there is, because the other laptops work correctly) and
"the error I get is" there is no network adapter/hardware installed and configured on this laptop.

After re-booting the laptop for some time he suddenly showed that the network connectivity and I could go on the internet and everything works great.

"The next everything was gone, no network connectivity, and is the reason why Windows is to give: there is no network adapter/hardware installed and configured on this laptop.

I really tried everything, installation driver for Intel Wireless 5100, try to install the hardware for Intel Wireless 5100, but then it shows wireless Intel 5100 # 2 (which means # 1 is really on the laptop, but it is not found!) .

I also tried the full restore, where to get Windows installed again, but nothing helps!

So please if someone can, * HELP! *

Brgds,
Femke

If you have the BIOS 1.80, I found a Bulletin on the Toshiba support:
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB8A02GW0000R01.htm

So to do a downgrade to BIOS, and then the problem should be solved.

  • Tecra A10 with Intel WiFi 5100 running Vista 32 bit fails to connect WiFi

    Hello

a whole new Tecra A10 with buildin Intel 5100 WiFi fails to connect to the Wlan router, using the pre-installled Vista Business 32-bit. Vista has always said: wrong password.

Yes, Wifi hardware is enabled, of course. And Tecra WiFi OK MAC is stored in the config of the router. Also the WiFi settings were correct (wpa2-psk aes), corresponding to the Wlan router. Password WPA2 is 13 characters. Connect all the other machines with a Wlan successfully turns a working Wlan configuration and use of the correct password.

I installed the latest driver on the Toshiba site - without success. I also installed the version of the driver from the Intel site will, too--without success. Doesn't matter what tool I used to connect, Vista itself, or the specific tool of Toshiba (Radar), choice to get an encrypted Wlan connection.

WPA2 and WPA or WEP can be used. I can't get a Wlan connection when encryption is totally * disabled *! Currently, I use a * clear * Wlan to use this Tecra A10 in the network. Real gross and no solution for more than a few days.

All other devices in the same network can connect the router Wlan with WPA2-PSK and WEP, no problem. Only the A10 / WiFi 5100 fails.

Searching the Web I found really many reports all issue of WiFi with a WiFi 5100 devices, so it seems to be a generic material or / and driver issue.

How can I correct this Wifi 5100 connect problem and use encryption WPA2-psk on Tecra A10 and WiFi 5100 with Vista? If this is not possible, I have to return this laptop and get another model with a working Wifi / Wlan Hardware.

    Thank you.

    Hello Thomas

Have you tried to connect your laptop to another router by friends or elsewhere?
It is really strange that you can use any of the WIFI ciphers available.
Have you tried to reboot your router?

I have Satellite A300-1LI with the same card, WLAN, preinstalled with Toshiba recovery WXP image and I use it sometimes linked to the WLAN with WEP encryption.
Have you tried to contact Toshiba or your local dealer for advice?

  • Satellite P300 - 133 WiFi card - upgrade to N

    Hello
My laptop Satellite P300-133 was delivered with a WiFi Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG card.
It has facilitated access to the PC card.

I have acquired a new worthy of the N standard wireless router.
It works very well with existing under the standard G laptop card.
New Satellite P300 models are standard h.

I would like to know if there is a map for the Satellite P300-133 that I can use to replace the original card for laptop with a corresponding also to the N standard.

    Thank you

    Hello

It is has some network cards wireless standard 802.11 Draft N but also as far as I know the project WLan N needs 3-wire antenna.

The other WLan standards such as 802.11 A, B or G need 2 antenna son and I imagine that the laptop has been delivered with 2 wired antenna and therefore the Draft N will not work in your notebook.

However, you can try some external wireless network cards that would favour the Draft N

I tried Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit with intel driver, version 13.4 and 13.5, non of them worked so far. I always get this error 'this device cannot start' in Device Manager

Can someone help me with this problem please?

    Hello

May I ask why you switched the WLAN card? Something was wrong with your old WLAN or why you did that?

The WLAN feature was working before the upgrade?

I can say with certainty why you get this message error, but to me it seems that the WLAN card is not activated, you permit wireless network adapter using the FN + F8 key combination?

    Hello

I just bought a Satellite P300-150 and it was working well in general... play lotro with few problems, but not in dx10 cos it chuggs as hell.

I noticed he had a genuine problem of warhead of the crisis in the recommended settings, but thought it was just cos he couldn't do.

But I downloaded the untilty of Intel processor id and he gave the following results... as you can see on the bottom 4 lines the processor is very upset with the expected results for the frequency and buses (fewer than half actually).

Intel recommends if there is a huge gap, I need to contact the manufacturer... which brought me here.
Any advice before contacting tech support directly?
Just maybe I can play warhead after all! : o).

    Hello

Satellite P300-150 was equipped with the Intel Core 2 Penryn T8300 processor.
This processor supports Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology.

Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology allows the system to dynamically adjust the tension and the processor core frequency. This means that the CPU doesn't always work with maximum performance, but only if it of needed. This helps minimize the heat dissipation and allows to secure the battery energy!

The CPU seems to be slow check with the Intel ID tool ;)

  • Satellite P300 is not connecting to WiFi

    Hello.

    I registered just now.
I am looking for counsel for my connection my laptop which is not fuctioning or receive any wireless network.

I bought this unit 3 weeks with the model of Satellite P300.
Last night, he couldn't connect to my WiFi o2.
Contacted O2 customer service, they were amazing and useful that they told me that it is most likely my wireless laptop is defective.

I'm not really a wizard in this matter but before this unit received a variety of wireless connection secure.
So now it does not work more.

Can someone give me a recommendation on this issue.
    Thank you.

I will try to do a BIOS and driver update.
These updates, you can find the Toshiba Europe site:

After 4 months I have updated the driver for the WLAN. After installing the driver I m unable to connect to a network of N. recovery software but is not be able to connect to the network.
I have already installed the Intel driver but nothing help.
Are there some people who can help me solve this problem?

    I have a Satellite P300.

    Hello

Firstly, it must ensure that your wireless network card and your WLan router would support the Draft N.

Second, you should check if the project has been selected in the WLan card properties.
This, to check the Device Manager-> properties-> Advanced tab WLan card

  • Satellite L500-1WR - cannot use new Intel WiFi card

    Hello

Purchase card Intel WiFi Link 1000 (112BNHMW) Mini PCI-E. Installed in place of the stock of Realtek. Windows has found the new device, I downloaded and installed the latest Intel driver (Windows 7 64-bit). But the Wi - Fi card does not see any wifi network (G ~ 12 networks and N = 1 networks around me), trying to troubleshoot-made the question by troubleshooting of Windows GET the message "on this computer's wireless capability is turned off" However the WIFI is enabled in the BIOS and the orange LED is lighting. I downloaded the utility of wireless control of intel, the Swith WiFI possible software option is just disabled (grayed out in the menu)

Laptop is locked for use only Realtek RTL8187SE? Or Intel does not support some "physical interfaces" to turn it on?
Is there a list of WiFI N Mini PCI-E adapters compatible with this laptop?

    Thank you

    Hey,.

The question is why you have installed another wireless network card? In my opinion, it is not logical because the preinstalled Realtek card is tested with your laptop and works correctly. In addition there is no difference between the wireless network cards

If the wireless network adapter is enabled, press the FN + F8 key combination. This can enable/disable the WLAN functionality.

  • WiFi with the Satellite P300-135 problem

    Here's my problem:

I removed VISTA and installed XP on my Satellite P300 - 135 (PSPC4E). After that, I downloaded all the drivers for XP and installed. But the wireless card is not recognised and in Device Manager there are two features of problem:

  • HP ProBook s 4710: Bluetooth missing on HP ProBook 4710 s (Windows 7 64-bit) - Intel WiFi - Link 5100 AGN

    Hello

    I have a strange problem:

I have two HP ProBook s 4710 here in front of me. The two "seems" to have the same hardware inside (I don't see any difference on the stickers in the back).

I have install both of them with the same USB with Windows 7N 64-bit.

After the installation is complete (no additional driver installed).

    the first bluetooth ProBook has

the second bluetooth ProBook has NO!

I checked the BIOS, every two active a bluetooth settings on both.

    WLAN works on both.

On the first s I can also install the bluetooth drivers latest, on the second, I can't. Always the message occurred ("no device was detected. Make sure that... »).

Device Manager indicates, the two ProBooks Intel WiFi - Link 5100 AGN, the first s also Bluetooth-device listed, the second of not.

What the hell is going on here?

    Hello:

It is very strange because the HP Wireless Assistant software is registered directly on the support page and driver 4710 under the solutions section.

If this is the case, try the latest HP Connection Manager software which does the same thing the software assistant wireless.

Here's the theory behind your dilemma (except radio BT died).

This laptop once had the connection manager (since the software assistant Wireless does not) installed, and you can use this software to individually disable bluetooth or devices rather than using the wireless button wireless.

I guess that for example, turn off the stereo bluetooth with the connection manager to save a small amount of battery power, which increases the time before having to recharge the battery.  But you can still use the wireless.

The hardware button turns both off the coast.

    The big problem is...

If none of these devices are turned off by the wireless assistant or the connection manager software and that you reinstall the operating system or to update or other, wireless or bluetooth devices do not appear in the Manager of devices as if they are dead or don't exist.

And what makes this more puzzled, is that if you check the BIOS, you will see that they are present and active!

The only way to make them work again, is to turn them on by using the Deputy Director or the wireless connection software.

This is why it is absolutely essential to ensure that these devices have been turned on before you reinstall the operating system.

For those people that upgrading to W10, none of these programs work on W10, so if the BT has been disabled, the user must return to W7, activate the bluetooth, uninstall the connection manager or the wireless assistant software, reboot, ensure that the device is always on and then upgrade to W10.

Here is the link to the software of the support page for your laptop connection manager...

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp53001-53500/sp53394.exe

If this doesn't work or the other, I suspect that the BT module does not work (all hardware failures).

  • Intel WiFi Link 5100 network card - cannot detect wireless networks

I have a HP Pavilion dv7-1270us. My wireless card is an Intel WiFi Link 5100.

Running Windows Vista 64 bit, Ubuntu Linux, Linux Mint and Fedora Linux (various versions, all), the wireless works fine. My desktop computers to work with wireless cards to connect to the network work very well, and all computers (except mine) to connect to my home network very well; which means that it is not a problem with wireless networks, or with my network card. I try to manually connect to the network, but it can't find it. Diagnosis requires that the card is disabled, and that I should turn it on via the switch on my laptop running: fact.

During the installation of Windows 7 64 bit, I cannot see wireless networks (and therefore unable to connect). Re-formated and reinstalled again, check the wireless connectivity between each batch of Windows Update, but it has never worked.

I downloaded the latest drivers from Intel, via Microsoft Compatibility Center (version 15.2.0 driver).

There is no system restore option because he has never worked as a first step, except in all other OS, I got on the computer. Microsoft Compatibility says the map is compatible, then Device Manager shows no problems. The network adapter is active via switch on my laptop.

Happy that you guessed it sorted!

    Hello

If everything worked correctly in your old House, then I guess there is no problem with the laptop but the router is simply not configured property or there is a problem with your ISP (internet service provider).

Maybe you should get in contact with the ISP and need to check if the connection is ready and available!

  • Satellite P300 - 19 p - WLan does not work

    Hi all

I recently bought a Satellite P300 - 19 p and at home I had a connection to the LAN cable to go online but 2 days after purchase I flew to Africa for a year and now when I try to connect to the Internet wirelessly, I discover that the bleeding thing doesn't have a working wireless driver.

I am really disappointed and frustrated, I installed drivers before and the Toshiba driver on drive C file shows a driver by Atheros wireless and I installed it but it will not appear on the Device Manager.
I copied a driver realtek on a disk and loaded, it appeared on the Device Manager but wouldn't work, came up with the code 10 error?

Can someone offer help and why not the manual provided with the help of these things!

    Thanks in advance!

    > When I turn on wifi radar it keeps saying "the wireless network device is disabled. Please activate"- large just give me an idea how to!

I think that this problem of WLan is not related to the missing driver, but on the fact that your WLan is not enabled!

Then all first move the WLan switch on IT and then use the FN + F8 key combination to select the WiFi network!

By the way; isn't your Atheros or Realtek but INTEL WLan card wireless network card!
The driver can be found here:
