  • R500 - wireless driver not found

    Hello

Recently, I ran the Thinkpad rescue and recovery to refresh my laptop and start with a new Windows XP.

I also ran through system update and got all the latest drivers and software updates.

As a result, I noticed that my wireless is not working and is not even detected. To do this, I downloaded all the drivers LAN wireless available following for ThinkPad R500 - 2732 - 6EG - Windows XP Professional:

    1. Intel Wireless LAN (bg, abg, abgn) for Windows XP - ThinkPad - v15.03.2000
    2. ThinkPad 11 b/g/n Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express card II for Windows XP - ThinkPad - v1.00.0029.8
    3. Wireless LAN ThinkPad (11bg, 11abg, 11abgn) for Windows XP, 2000 - ThinkPad - 7.6.1.260b

But my Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility said that the "driver is not installed' even after rebooting.

I also check the Device Manager and noticed that under the NICs only below:

    1. Network adapter 1394
    2. BroadCam NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet

    What could be the problem?

PS: Please note that my wireless was working properly before going through the rescue and recovery.

Waiting for your feedback as soon as possible and thank you very much for your support in advance.

    Kind regards

    Welcome to the forum!

What an interesting R500 you have... I'm jealous...

Your ThinkPad as she left the plant:

    P7370 (2 GHz), 2 GB RAM, 320 GB 5400 RPM HD, LCD 15.4 in 1680 x 1050, 128 MB ATI Radeon HD3470, CD-RW/DVD-RW, Intel 802.11agn wireless, Bluetooth, Modem, 1 Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, chip secure, reader of fingerprints, camera, 6 c Li-ion, WinVista Business 32

Even before to contemplate wireless, I would install the chipset driver first.

    It's the good wireless driver:

    http://download.Lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/PC/pccbbs/mobiles/g1w218ww_x32.exe

After downloading and extracting, you will have to go in C > drivers > win > Wlanint and run the Setup file from there.

The rest of the drivers should be available here:

    http://support.Lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/default.page?

Or, you can install the system update and let him find the missing drivers for you.

    Good luck.

    Hello

    I don't have good news.

Unfortunately, HP won't release Windows 8 drivers for your model.

Also, there is no solution, allowing you to switch between the graphics card AMD and Intel.

The whi only thing I can recommend is to install the graphics driver.

This way, you will be at least able to install the driver from Intel.

I also recommend to install all Windows updates.

    Note:

Do not install the Intel graphics driver's go there (uncheck the update list).

  • win8 home premium to pro upgrade, says Intel wireless driver is not compatible

I have a new desire 4 with Windows 8 home preium ultrabook installed. I am trying to install the Windows Pro upgrade, who refuses to continue because my wireless software is invalid for Windows 8. I installed a later version on the Intel website, makes no difference. I tried to remove the offending software and restart and still objects.

Thanks for the tip, Paul. I've never had this problem with an upgrade of Windows before. I think that really he should let me come up with it and just warn me that he thinks that there is a problem. I see that I am not alone - this is someone with a Dell - http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-windows_install/unable-to-install-windows-8-pro-due-to/cf6e74c5-caa3-4089-a056-c55f4e64703d. Intel suggests to remove all the Wifi drivers before moving on to Win 8 (http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-033854.htm). The instructions are here - http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-030416.htm. He suggested deleting the app settings, which I don't. My solution was simple - I was really taking the wrong approach. I wanted to spend 8 Win Home Premium to Win 8 Pro and I was using the Windows 8 Pro pack which includes the 32-bit versions and 64-bit disk. They are intended for upgrading from a previous version of Windows to people. I need to take a different approach and "add features to Windows 8", which does not require a disc, as all features are already in 8 Win Home premium, they just need to be unlocked. All's well that ends well, as they say!

  • HP pavilion dv6t a1u60aar: wireless driver not found.

    Hey.

I need to reinstall windows 7 on my laptop but I can not find a driver compatible wireless.

I forgot to back up the recovery.

I tried a lot of drivers that are in this web site.

I also tried the hp support, but it cannot find a driver for the wireless card.

    Help, please.

    Thank you.

    Hello:

There is no information available online about what model of wireless card your laptop is.

Please do the following so I can understand that, and then I'll post the links to the drivers you need.

Go to Device Manager.  There should be a category of other devices containing a list of devices that need drivers under this category.

The wireless card is labeled as a network controller.

Click the network controller device, and then click the Details tab in the upper part of the window of network controller device.

Now you should see a drop-down list of property and it is set by default to the Description of the unit.

On this list and select the second element (Hardware ID).

After the first string of characters you see in the window.

I need to change my Toshiba laptop to use Windows 10?

    @LinVbg
You can install the driver from the Intel page... This isn't a problem if install you the driver in Device Manager by using the Advanced installation procedure.
The Advanced installation procedure requires and record of driver that you can download from the page of Intel (Intel provides exe or zip files) zipped.

The compressed file must be extracted. Then in Device Manager, you must click on the GPU, update driver, then choose Advanced (option 2).
This allows to point to the folder of the unzipped driver and the system would automatically take the driver...
