Interesting solution of failure of the fans occasionally cold start?

Interesting solution of failure of the fans occasionally cold start?

Normally I do a reset of the SMC, sometimes it's the solution.

When kick cooling fans as soon as I start my cold iMac, I just quickly swivel the iMac slowly from right to left and the cooling fans have stopped.

Strange?

All the answers?

Note: I use an iMac 21 inch end 2013-2, 7 GHz Intel Core i5

Thank you in advance for the answers.

This sounds like a sensor loose or pinched wire.

You may be able to see the problem of sensor or sensor wire with the diagnosis of Apple to test or a third party temp. followed by the application, but the best would be to book a service appointment at your local CENTRE.

    I have a Toshiba Satellite P850 30W with bios 1.90.

What happened twice (perhaps several times without knowing me), and Ive had the computers for a month.

Normally the fan starts to run when the CPU gets more than 50 degrees celsius and stops less than 50 celisus...

I tried running Prime95 when this fan-this occurs and the time of the computer got dangerously high (near 100 degrees)! the fan did not start at all

to get the fan turns once again I have to restart windows

    anyone experienced this?
I guess that the fix would be to never use standby... or toshiba needs to fix it with an update of the bios.

    > Sometimes the fan does not work at all after back mode standby on windows 7.
    > What has happened twice (perhaps several times without knowing me), and Ive had the computers for a month.

You said it's happened twice and only sometimes done this means that above all the fans are working well?
In this case, this would mean that it of difficult to reproduce this problem, but you might be right: maybe a BIOS update would help solve this problem permanently

I found some discussions on the stand-by mode and fan activity and in most cases, the update of the BIOS was the key.

  • Satellite L505 - 10 M - fan does not start

    I have a problem with my Satellite L505 - 10 M.

Suddenly the fan does not start over and because of this, the laptop get quickly overheated and stops. I installed Windows 7 top me, quite some time ago, and this time it was 2 weeks ago while it just happened this evening. I have not installed anything new and nor I did something special with him, he just does not start fan more.

I checked this forum, cannot find anything either, searched and could not find any problems with Linux and the fan, but not Windows (it does not start at the start of the bios either).

If anyone has a thought, a similar experience or a solution, it would be really useful

    Hey Buddy,

You have installed Windows 7 Microsoft disc or Toshiba Recovery disk?

Well, if the fan doesn't start anymore, you can t a lot and I think that the fan needs to be replaced.
What you can do is load default settings in the BIOS (press F9 key in the configuration of the BIOS) and save settings. Also clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air, maybe the fan will be blocked by the dust.

If he doesn t it work s time to contact a technician for laptop. If your laptop is under warranty, the repair will be free. :)

  • Satellite A135-S2386 - fan does not start

    Hi all

I bought a Toshiba Satellite since 2006 in the United States. It worked perfectly.
Now, when I start start fan but after 10 minutes, freeze it and the fan remained without starting.

Please can it be a UO motherboard problem that the problem is at the level of the fan?
    Pleasae help me

    Hello!

    The entire notebook freezes?
Whether the reason is why the fan doesn't work. The laptop is overheating.

Maybe dust blocking the fan. If you need to clean the laptop using a jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans. I always use the jet of compressed air to clean my laptop and it works. :)
    Check this box!

  • After a fan failure, Windows is unable to turn off the fan?

My Dell laptop is more than a year and out of warranty, so I was pretty shocked when my brother took an air can to the exhaust port and overspun fan and caused his failure. I bought a fan of alternative qualified from Dell and installed with Arctic Silver costs. However, even with the new fan, he would never turn up. I was looking at the temperatures to pull it up and and eventually shut down the system without even a glance of the fan. I even pulled the fan back out and double checked to make sure that the fan would turn with the applied force (I am an EE, food is very fine-adjustable). He does.

I can control the fan with a 3rd party, i8kfan program. Problem is, the driver is not signed digitally, so it occasionally fails or it shuts down randomly.

So, how does this apply to Windows? Well, as Dell technical support doesn't help if you are no longer under warranty, they don't tell me this - here are the fan control strictly controlled windows, strictly the BIOS or a combination of both? I was wondering if the problem threw a flag in Windows or the BIOS can't disable or something. I see nothing on the fans in my BIOS (another failure on part Dells - shitty BIOS), so I hope there is something small, buried in the windows that might help.

I have no problem using the 3rd party controls. In most cases, this works very well. But there are moments when, particularly under heavy load, the program gets a lower priority, and fan just stops. In addition, the signed drivers beyond boring thing. As a little advanced Windows user, I'd love it if it could be disabled permanently instead of having to switch off whenever I start.

My college got hooked me with a copy of 7, but I was saving it for my office that I'm building. I think that if this is a Windows problem, I'll just reformat this thing at 7 until I get my desktop built, and if all goes well, that will fix problems with fan. Also, I think I still have the Vista disc to this thing also, that's an option. If reinstalling Windows can solve this problem, I will def do this. I don't want to waste time to reformat if it does not solve the problem.

    Thanks for the comments!

    Hi Matt k,

Fear you must contact Dell technical support as seems to be a hardware problem.

  • Sporadic fan starting failure message. This speaks to the need to replace the fan?

Sometimes when I restart my desktop computer after being absent for a day or two, I get a message of fan failure.  I immediately turned off the computer. I wait a few minutes and try to restart.  The reboot is going well.  Has anyone else had this type of message?  What I need to check that the fan is a failure?  If this is the case, where you can hold a replacement fan?

Yes, this is indicative of a faulty fan. I was getting messages from 'System fan failure' sporadic on my HP a1632x. I first removed all dust and dirt, then decided to put one or two drops of oil on the bearings and 'exercise' the fan to work the oil in the compressed air. Two years later, and not once fan failure message.

According to the fan being a system fan or CPU fan may affect where you can hold a replacement. To start, try Newegg.com. Take the measurements of the existing fan. Check the BIOS for the fan RPM speed and buy the one that is at least this fast if it is 10% faster. Make sure that it is a three lead with tachometer coonector.

  • HP 15 F018dx: Error notice when you try to search the drivers + occasional noise from the fan

Hello. I just did a scan of software on the hp site and it recommended related diagnostic software and I installed it.

But when I try to do a software scan and the pilot of "search for the updates and recommendations" on the website of HP support for my laptop model, I always have this:

"HP has encountered an error when trying to analyze your product.

Please verify that your product is turned on and connected, and then try again in a few minutes.

Or display all drivers available for your product below. »

I'm sure that my laptop is up-to-date with software and drivers because my HP support assistant software can't find nothing available, but I'm just curious as to why I get this error on the hp site.

Another thing.  Very rarely, it looks like one of the fans (or is the hard drive?) in the laptop will be rev suddenley plus enough fort. If I stop the laptop turned off and on again, the fan noise is back to normal - nice and very quiet. Even just quickly put the laptop to sleep and wake it will fan (if that's what it is) back to normal. This loud fan noise maybe happens once every 2 weeks if I average.

Initially, I thought that this problem of fan noise may be caused or related to a game (asphalt 8) that seems to cause fans to redouble efforts in general (but this casual loud fan noise I'm talking is much stronger than that) when the game is played and the problem seems to occur more frequently with installed. However, I uninstalled it for a few days (although I don't know if I did a reboot after that I uninstalled it) and it arrived this morning after starting with past nothing. I suppose it could still be linked to the game, but I'm not sure. I restarted the laptop and now it is fine.

As I said that the problem occurs very rarely and most of the time my laptop is very quiet, but still I would like to understand/fix the issue if I could. It of one of the reasons why I was trying just a software/driver scan to see if something is recommended on the site but when I do this pilot analysis I get this error and have always.

Thanks for any help or suggestion.

    Tom

    Hi @tomstar,

Thank you for posting. I read your post, and I understand that you received the error message when you try to run a verification of updates and recommended software on the HP Web site. You need not worry since this could be a problem connecting to the HP Web site.

  • Fan is a failure on the 6th generation airport base

Recently the fan on my airport began to howl and grinding.  It is more under warranty, but I am pretty sure that I can replace it if I had a replacement part number.  Google was not helpful.  Any suggestions?

The fan has a common point of failure on this model?

Unfortunately, Apple considers that AirPort Extreme waterproof a device, and as such, they do not spare parts for the product.

You will have to possibly remove the old fan and see if it might be an original manufacturer and number on the piece itself that you could use to find a suitable replacement.  The airport I took out some used time ago a fan of Delta. See step 12 in the article below.

We do not see very many reports of noisy fans... the usual problem is an intermittent power supply.

You need to be extremely careful when you open the AirPort Extreme that there are a number of connectors that can be easily broken.

This article should provide assistance and advice:

  • Satellite A500-1GL: 2 questions: the fan speed & graphic card driver failures

    Hello

I have 2 questions, hopefully someone can help me with that.

    * The first question - quick fan *.

I'm on online gamer second life and world of the craft of war) recently my fan speed crank up to 90 percent for about 5/10 minutes before leaving quiet. Then speed up again after a period of time. I'm confused as to why he did this because when I check my cpu temp is only make 40%, and I use a cool buffer table.

I'm looking for some advise here because all said Toshiba was making sure I had the latest bios update. But I would have thought it is not the processor overheating the fan must not be crank that quickly. My laptop is only 2 months old.

Can anyone help, should I be worried?

    * Second question - graphics driver *.

Also on a couple of times I got my screen briefly go black and then recover. A pop up appears saying something along the lines of the core of the graphics card.... Driver recovered. It flashes if fast, that I never see the entire message. Don't you think that something is wrong with the graphics card? (card nividia geforce gt300m)

I really hope that someone can offer more help that Toshiba has done, as I am a bit unhappy to be problems on a 2 month old laptop.

Thank you for reading and I look forward to any Advisor.

The cooling fan is controlled by the fan table in the BIOS. Fan table contains information about the temperature and the fan speed that means the depands on some level temperature fan speed.
Over all the possible game features as the CPU, GPU, produce heat and the heat dissipation is high
Cooling modules would begin to turn faster if the temperature level would be exceeded
This is nothing exceptional everything at stake

I read on a similar question, and apparently, the graphics card DRIVER crashed during games
Maybe it's a compatibility problem between game and pilot
In most cases the graphics card driver update should fix this and I read on some forums that it has helped in many cases

  • X 61 failure after cleaning the fan

I just bought a X 61 on ebay and installed Linux Mint, VirtualBox and Win8.1 Preview.

Everything was fine, except that the heat was worried. The fan was going on, but no air seemed to go out, so I followed the service manual and dismantled the entire machine. The area between the fan and the heat sink fins were completely clogged with oily dust and felt, so I have cleaned everything, lubricated the fan and re-assembled the machine.

Now it will not turn on. No lights, nothing. I checked all internal connectors and they all seem fine. I've done this kind of thing often in the past, but not in a X 61.

The only problem I encountered was that the keyboard bezel has been glued to the low case near the hinge of the LH and lever the sticks out, I had to break off a small piece of the bezel at the back, and I've come back with a rear a little loose on the bezel.

So, my question is if there is some sort of small switch in the video cable from the screen, and it has to be precisely positioned wrt the bezel? Also, if I try to paste on the rear window, would be epoxy work with plastic on the bezel, or is there a glue better?

    Thanks for any help.

It is now in place and running 64-bit Linux Mint and the W8.1 virtual machine, although this is not a long term installation, unless I have increase the memory.

The difference in temperature of the tower is amazing, while the fan is doing its job. An additional error was with the keyboard: this is 2 of my 3 machines with an intermittent power switch. Fortunately, the other is a Tablet, so there is a second switch. Lid switch works, but I don't really understand how, and I have not yet tried epoxy on the bezel.

    Life is good again.

Although the fan runs off pc. What is a lower thermal paste?

He gave me the same problem with old MB. but I restarted several times until the total inoperable. I replaced the cpu and the heatsink and Mo

any advice will be great. replacement cpu is a used athlon 2.4, the MB and the new radiator. OS is xp family

wbzuk wrote...  «.. . tried using original compaq recovery disk set, but get the message of recovery to another pc set. is it because of a different Mo? It's the same n/p... »

Same part number is a good start, but the replacement motherboard must be tattooed to you match the numbers of the computer. The tattoo is the process of writing to the system-specific data in a special area of the BIOS. These data, this is what is blocking your computer recovery discs or one of the same exact model. Many different computer models of HP may use the same motherboard and you may have had a different model.

Apart from having an authorized HP your tattoo machine, you could install an operating system to store bought. Your existing data should work with XP pro but don't forget that you will not use of the HP factory-installed software and/or programs.

  • Process creates the CPU to overheat and the Fans to run like crazy:

I am ripping DVDs on different Macbook cradle fully aware that it's requiring treatment.

The 2011 with 16 GB of ram and hard disk SSD, the process runs on 330% of the processor, blasting the ability and heat

    revolves around 100 c/213 F.

Interesting enough the same process on 2 late Mo Pro 2008 with less ram do not overheat in the extraction process. The program are identical on all the Pros of 3 MB. The processes are the same, but on the old MBpros the processor load is between 130-150% up to more heating is not that great a problem.

But the MBPro of 2011 with top material tearing overheating of the processor and fans running at full speed.

I noticed that too much work with other programs or is running only a few programs at the same time seem to heat from the processor and the fans make some noise + cpu run hot with my MBpro 2011 and El Capitan.

It is possible to restrict a program that use a large part of the resources to avoid overheating?

    Other solutions?

Well a Late 2008 Macbook Pro has a intel core 2 duo, so the max he could run is 200% (2 CPUs time 100%) if the application can do enough on 2 processors in parallel.

Your 2011 Macbook Pro has very probably a 4 core CPU intel i7 with hyper-threading.  If an application can use hyper-fils, there is a potential of 800% max.  The 330% could just be that the DVD cannot keep up with the CPU, so it does not hit its maximum potential because of the famine of data.

I don't know if the speed of the DVD drive in 2008 was the same as the 2011.  If the 2011 is able to read data more quickly than the 2008, then it can provide given the CPU faster, keep the much busier CPU so it can consume more power, and more power consumption more than the heat generated.

MacBook pro 2011 ends a DVD in less time than the 2008?

Basically, you are trying to compare 'Granny Smith' vs 'Golden Delicious' apples and expects the same taste.

Regarding the other programs, put this SSD in your Macbook Pro means that any code or data that the application needs to get the disc are convinced order or magnitude faster, so that the application did not slow the CPU and keep crank, causing the CPU to keep them busy and thus attract more power, which is converted into heat causing fans to run.

It is also possible that your SSD generates more heat.  Solid State does not always mean longer running costs.  Much would depend on the brand and the model of the SSD and it is the power profile, and it draws more power for writing vs readings, and how much nature more expensive power you're done.

Information point.  I put an SSD in my 2009 27 "iMac and it works more hot because my iMac can do more in less time.  I put an SSD in my Macbook Pro 2011 and if I ask him to do a lot of work, like backups, it starts its fans, as the SSD is always quick to provide data for backup, there is no waiting for the discs, leaving the lower idle CPU.
