Internal battery low - error 601 before Windows starts

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 (XG737UA #ABA product number and model dv6 - 3163 cl) under Windows 7 Home Premium.  I tested, tried callibrating and nothing helped.  My battery meter shows that it gets only a max of 77% support and then stops to load.

Then I turned off my laptop, unplugged the power cord from the laptop, then took the removable battery Pack, connected plug it back in and then laptop powered on with only the power cord is plugged in.  I don't have the 601 error message while booting.  Issues related to the:

(1) this means that small piece of internal clock battery is not the problem, but rather the removable battery black, great is the question?

(2) If Yes to the above, just replace the battery 593554-001?  I want a 6, 9 or 12 cells (I guess that the largest cell, the years more it will last)?  I found these: http://www.battdepot.com/us/search/opn/hp/593554-001.aspx

(3) while I wait for the battery to arrive, is - it safe power the computer with the battery pack intact and functioning, or I want to only run the laptop with the battery and connected computer?  The latter will be difficult because I need to walk from one place to another with the laptop.

Thank you!

Mike

Hello mikechicago,.

I see that you have an error message internal battery low. I'll try to help you.

To answer, you have any questions.

(1) is based on the fact that if the removal of the battery at the back, the error is gone, this would imply that the question is indeed with this paste and not the battery cmos.

(2) on page 53 of the maintenance and Service guide, you will find the support of the spare laptop battery you with reference numbers. Who should answer this question.

(3) it has not recommended to continue to use the battery. For now until you receive the replacement, it would be better to use it plugged in.

I hope that it has been able to answer all your questions.
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

  • problem starting before windows starts

    Hello world

Recently I bought HP Z220 Convertible Minitowers Workstation which is more than good. Windows starts in 20 seconds. What worries me is that when I bought the computer, the startup procedure was really fast. After a some time during the early (before windows starts) appeared onscreen HP saying "Press any key to Option ROM Messages and ESC to enter the configuration menu". It's really annoying because it is there for 1 minute and then the operating system starts.

I tried to change in the first menu via the shortcut CTRL + S, but without success. When I clicked on disable, it's just gone, and now I can not ge it most.

Then I entered in the BIOS and in advanced option, I have managed to disable ROM prompt messages. This one missing at the start, but the second saying "Press ESC to enter the menu setup" is still there. I'm worried that if I disable it, I won't be able to return to the menu setup.

Is there a possibility to reset these startup options? Restore the default values in the BIOS did not help.

    Thank you

What you are experiencing is an intermittent BlackScreen so here how to solve the problems that is they
become more persistent but I hope that the foregoing will eliminate the.

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
CTRL + ALT + DELETE and on the tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is reached

  • Connect to HP ProtectTools before Windows starts

I recently used HP Recovery to reinstall my HP Elitebook 8560w. When configuring HP ProtectTools, I chose to let him ask for a password before starting Windows. It's not ideal because it slows down the startup of my HP (and sometimes it freezes at startup), so I would like to get back to that. I want to just connect after starting Windows, as usual. HP ProtectTools, itself is not much help. How can I change this without getting the whole thing again? Thanks for any help.

  • Pavilion 550-122nd: mouse and wireless keyboard do not work before Windows starts (10)

The wireless keyboard and mouse (that came with the computer) do not work until Windows is started.

I want to make a (ghost) image of my hard drive using the boot CD Norton ghost 15.0 (but it also applies to other bootable devices).

When the CD boots and the program starts I have to click a button (OK / accept) to continue. At this point the wireless keyboard and mouse are not active jet. This is why I can't continue.

Use a USB keyboard gives the same result (also not active at this point).

Is there a solution / work around for this?

    Thank you.

On the pilots seems plausible. Especially because on my laptop (older) with Windows 10 CD bootable (like Norton Ghost) don't Duke keyboard and mouse.

I'll have a look at the new version of the BIOS and start looking for new tools that will accept my keyboard (and mouse).

  • Satellite L450D - 12 X: black screen before Windows starts - SOLUTION

The laptop will start the boot process, stop the Windows with the HARD drive lights blinking like it is starting up, but the screen is black with the pointer of the mouse only show.

Hit the power button to restart the boot process can have the same result or it can start Windows. Sometimes, it can take 3 or 4 attempts to start to get into windows.

_I have found the fault_ and read of the many messages of the forum, I understand that it is a huge problem for many people who have blamed the Toshiba and windows 7.

They are all wrong; the problem is not a HARD drive problem or a problem of operating system.
    * The problem is memory. *

These computers were given free children via PC suppliers appointed by the Government. Those eligible had the choice between several suppliers that were contracted to supply eligible children with these machines. The company that provided our positive Solutions Toshiba boasted their machines were a larger ram capacity and so the customers have been tempted to go to their case and why not with 2gigs available instead of only 1 GB?

What does positive IT Solutions, it was just add another chip of 1 gig. What they should have done was to remove these two circuits and replace the two as a pair, because it's the chip memory, they added that causes these teething problems and what actually looks like the laptop hardware or windows 7 is to blame. This problem has fleas memory incompatible and rendered as well as by the company provider adding their own single-chip rather than replace them as a pair.

Here are the simple rules being broken to save money and operate the system of Government by encouraging customers to buy from them under the pretext of getting a more powerful machine. They would have known these chips could cause incompatibility problems and in addition I talked to them to solve the problems we met only to be told that the problem is with windows. I reformatted and could not put in the code for Windows 7.

After contacting Microsoft, they said I'd need to buy a new copy of Windows 7 or return to the positive IT Solutions for them to give me a new code which of course they would never do. I bought a new copy of Windows 7 on their advice and guess what; the problem was always the same.

Only after I took apart the case of memory did I then realize what is the real problem.
I changed the chips and hey presto it works perfectly now.

    I hope this helps others.

Indeed, failure of module of memory can cause various problems.

    HP eliteBook 6930

    no spare battery

This error is a bit confusing.  At first glance it seems to refer to the CMOS/RTC battery but actually refers to the main battery to the laptop.  Even if the computer indicates that the battery is at 100%, it would be a good idea to check that it is in working condition.  I think that it is a good first step, because although it doesn't show 100% charge, you say the laptop does not work unless it is on current alternative.  This paper addresses the issue further.

As indicated in the document, the HP Battery Check will be performed to determine if the battery is faulty.

To perform battery check do the following and display the result.

    1. Unplug the power cord and turn the computer off.
    2. Press on the button / stop to turn on the computer.
    3. Press the ESC key immediately seeing the HP or Compaq logo screen.
    4. The Start menu appears.
    5. Press F2 to select F2 System Diagnostics .
    6. Select battery Test in the list of diagnostic tests.
    7. Connect the power supply cable.
    8. Click Start Test Battery on the battery Test page.

If your battery fails this test, it will need to be replaced.  To get a spare battery, you will have to contact HP Support.  If you are in the USA / Canada you can call to the 1-800-474-6836.  If you are located outside of this area, you will need to go to the HP support site and after selecting your country, search for "Customer Support" in the lower right corner to get contact information for your region.

    Hello

When I start my computer, I get a blue error screen c0000415
A quick google reveals that this is one of these: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832324

"So what are you bothering? I hear you cry - the problem I have is, in getting this error of the other (also the ATI card based) I stuck my red disc in and erased everything - including the windows... and CFLA error occurs before windows installs and SafeMode (-that worked perfectly before) does not work because windows is not installed!

    Oh the fun.

"I think it's a hardware error" - Yes so don't I... However, before the reinstall and get it back, I could work to the computer in safe mode and videos played very well with the resolution and full color. Am I missing the point if I think a video work is an indicator of a working video card?

I admit that I'm perplexed indeed. I'll try to dig up an old Windows 98 drive, but I don't know how much this will help, because the only copy of XP I have is on the recovery disk... [Return to step 1]

Any suggestions much appreciated - thanks in advance...

    Hello

As suggested in document of Microsoft this problem can occur if an ATI Radeon 7200 graphics card has been installed on your computer and the driver that is supplied with this adapter may not work correctly with Windows XP.
The installation of SP2 should help.

This statement of Ms. says it all! It of not a hardware problem but it is a compatibility issue with Windows XP (without SP2) and the driver radeon ATI 7200.

You should try to get an original CD of Windows XP with or without SP2.
The software callednLiteallows you to create a Windows clean boot CD and add the patches MS and service packs for this CD.

Then, you can try to boot this CD and after installing the OS, you need to update or change the graphics driver!

  • X 260 unload the first internal battery

    Hello

When the power of the battery, discharge the battery internal of my X 260 before the external battery. I use Windows Home 10 and bios is 1.19 (what it came bundled with).

I have not found a definitive solution to this problem - only comments of others where the problem has subsequently disappeared. I had the computer for 10 days and have tried many suggestions but nothing works not - the internal battery continues to drain before externally.

I hesitate to call or get help because I don't want to send the computer or have a tech computer rip part for what is apparently a software/firmware issue.

Just to add: all drivers are updated and battery performance is quite normal - I get the expected run time. Is that just the internal battery runs out first and then the second an external.

I would be grateful other suggestions or a fix.

    Any solution to restart?

It is a part of report of Trusteer [IBM], a security utility you downloaded from the website of your bank online banking.

I suggest that remove you it completely, then reinstall.  In addition to the website of your bank, you can get it on http://www.trusteer.com/ProtectYourMoney

You'll probably find several bad comments on the report in this forum and elsewhere.  I also find it a pain in the neck because it gives misleading 'false positives '.  However, it does not appear to protect against malware trying to spy on me as I am in my banking passwords online, so I put up with him.  If I ever had a problem with someone of another hacking on my bank account, then the fact that I used the tool of the Bank probably wanted help in arguments that are ensuits [or, more likely, failure to use their recommended tool could inhibit my arguments].

The flaw with the report that is reported when starting shouldn't stop your computer filling start.  If she then restarts in SafeMode [press F8 before Windows starts, all about loading press F8 repeatedly as soon as the computer manufacturer's logo appears to make sure you catch this moment between the logo disappears & Windows Startup].  Once in safe mode, remove the report and then restart normally.
