Internal card reader freezes Satellite Pro A due to bent pins

Hello

The stems of my internal card reader are folded due to a card of memory being glued and then removed.
This causes windows to freeze at startup.

Now I can disable the software etc. to stop what's happening, but what I'd rather do is to physically unplug the internal card reader, so Windows does not attempt to find it and crashed.

Is it easy to remove the card reader internal?
If yes then it would cost a fortune to obtain Toshiba to fix?

I don't really want to spend a lot of money on something that is not a value of more than £200, which I intend to sell soon.

See you soon,.
Dave

Since the card reader is part of the motherboard, you can not disconnect it physically.
In your case, there are two possibilities;
Either buy and replace the motherboard (I think that it s not an option for you die at high costs) or you would disable this card reader in Device Manager

Welcome them

    Hello

My Satellite A100 can't stand my sandisk 4 GB SDHC.
'normal' SD cards are not a problem with the internal card reader, and there is no problem with the 4 GB sandisk SDHC card using an external card reader.

    is there a software solution?

    regrads,
    Itock

I don't have the time to read the manuals for your model of laptop users, but can be registered to all supported cards. I guess SDHC not registered and not supported.

I don't know what you mean with the software solution, but as far as I know, update for multimedia card reader is not available.

Whenever I start my computer, my internal card reader must be disabled and then enabled in before Device Manager it will not work properly. I put an SD card in there and auto does not work. I check my computer and it shows that it is there, but when I double click on it to open it I get a message saying: Please insert the SD card. I tried to do a repair install, but it ends and said that the upgrade has failed?
Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem.

I am running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. It is a Renesas controller and I use the 2.1.28.0 with firmware driver 4015.

I'm not sure but I may have found the problem. I see where a guy here was having a similar problem and it was caused by Acronis. I recently installed Acronis 2012. I have been lucky to uninstall, but I will update this post when I do.  He was also running windows 7-64 bit on a motherboard ASUS!

Acronis was the problem.  I uninstalled Acronis and now my card reader works as it should.  Strange!

Is it possible to replace the graphics card on my Satellite Pro?
I need to so that it can run CAD software. Anyone know if it is possible, or it is soldered to the motherboard :(

No, it is not possible given that the graphics chips more are part of the motherboard.
In some cases, it of possible to remove the graphics chip on the motherboard, but in this case that it must always use the same GPU for this motherboard.

  • Internal card reader card ZBook 15 SC

I wonder if someone can provide specifications or information about the speed of the SD card on my new ZBook 15 reader. I use this for work and want to have a removable device to store personal files. I am currently using a 32 GB SD card, but it isn't excellent performance. I am considering either pass a 64 GB USB 3 flash drive or faster 64 GB SD card. What I want to know is how (what bus) internal card reader is connected to the and which will be a limiting factor even if I buy a fast SD card. Is there a record of read/write for the crack and what can be expected with different types of SD card?

    Hi Mcramblet,

To get your question more exposure I suggest you post in the trade forums since it is a commercial product. You can do it at Business Forum.

    Thank you.

  • USB internal card reader not detected by Windows 7 Pro 64

The return of the story is this: my Dell Inspiron 546 recently dropped when the HARD drive failed terminally.  "Rather than replace the HD, I opted for the upgrade of ' with a refurbished desktop computer.  I'm done with a Dell Optiplex 760 MT, which I am very happy with.  He has a new 128 GB SSD mounted and I have a new 1 to Seagate Barracuda disk HARD ready to go in it, when I get a longer SATA data cable for it.

In any case, I got a few pieces off the Inspiron to go in the Optiplex: memory card reader 2-4 GB of RAM, DVD - RW and media 3.5 "internal.  The RAM of works well (taking the system to a total of 6 GB).  The DVD - RW works fine (once I activated the SATA port in the BIOS).  However, the card reader does nothing.

I plugged into a vacant USB connector on the motherboard, which has been marked something like "INT USB".  However, Windows doesn't see it, and it does not show in the Device Manager.  It's as if she is not there at all (no lights, nothing).

This card reader worked fine on the Inspiron (which was an AMD Athlon 64 machine, but running Windows 7 it 32 b).

Any ideas?  I had a glance through the BIOS and can't see anything obvious.  I assumed that being a USB device, it would just spring to life, but I do not.

The Optiplex has the following important elements:

    Intel Core 2 Duo 3 GHz (E8400)

    Intel Q43 chipset

    Transcend SSD 128 GB

    6 GB of RAM (2 x 1 + 2 x 2)

(HD 3000 memory) integrated Intel graphics card

    DVD - ROM (standard adjustment)

DVD - RW (from the Inspiron).

    The fixed.

First, to use the USB header, you should disable the "floppy" in the BIOS.  I tried this but it didn't work.  However, States manual service, you should disable the front disk to install the player, so I unplugged the drive, put under tension, then stopped again, plugged in and restarted.  I also disconnected and re connected the cable at the end of the drive.

According to these fixed it, I don't know, but now it's the hunky dory, seen in the maps of Manager and reading of the device as it should.

  • card eSATA for Satellite Pro A200GE - 26Q

    Hello world

I'm new on the forum and laptops computers Toshiba range as a whole, but I recently took delivery of my nice new Satellite Pro A200GE - 26Q.

On the surface, it seems a beautiful machine, but here's the question:

Like I need reading wav and MP3 directly from an external drive I am interested in an eSATA as they claim offer lightning speed (I na? don't know how true that is) but I guess USB is not fast enough for my needs.

I saw on some web sites you can buy cards eSATA, which is in a port or a card (thingy) on your laptop - is this possible on my laptop and if so someone knows what cards are best for Toshiba?

The same State of websites to stay away from some brands of cards, especially the cheaper because they do not offer the full speed of eSATA and in some cases are actually slower than USB.

Now if it's a PC desk top that I could wack just in one eSATA top brand on the PCI bus expansion card but laptops are a total different animal. If this area is all new to me - tips or pointers greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Kenny

May I ask what card eSATA you need and which you want to connect to the laptop?

I googled a bit and it seems that this laptop has been equiupped with the 6 in 1 card reader. It supports these cards:
SD Memory Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, MultiMediaCard, xD-Picture Card, SDIO

    But nothing about eSATA cards

The laptop also supports the USB 2.0 Hi-Speed standard.
So you will be able to transfer data and files with a speed of 480 Mbps (60 MB/s)
I think this should be enough for you music

  • How to Exchange card WLAN on Satellite Pro M10?

Can I replace my card Wi - Fi, and how?

    Hello

Usually, wireless network card is placed under the small cover on the bottom of the laptop side or under the keyboard. The Satellite Pro M10, it should be placed under the keyboard.

Keyboard is on most of the portable computer models set with three small screws, but to view them, you must remove the plastic placed between the keyboard and the display piece. It should be removed very gently. If you have no experience I really don't know if you can do it alone. If you do not do so on the right track, you may damage the plastic cover.

If you try do these alone be very gently. After removing the screws, remove the keyboard and check where is the WLAN card. When you find the card disconnect both wireless LAN cables (black and white) antenna of the wireless LAN card.
At least open the left and right latches holding the wireless LAN Board and remove it.

I hope that this brief description will help you.

    Good bye
