Internal error 4238 blackBerry Smartphones, exchange 2007

BlackBerry 8320, Outlook 2007, Windows XP, Exchange 2007 and Blackberry Desktop Manager 5.0.1.28, extreme frustration.

Try to get the Exchange calendar to sync to the blackberry.  Outlook is configured to deliver mail to the mailbox on the server.  AFAIK synch is set up correctly, synchronization begins, ends with the error message "failed to get an Outlook or Exchange.  Lack of network access to the server Exchange can cause this problem ' Journal lists 'Read '' ' to the list of items, so connection to the server at a certain level is assumed, but ends with:

It is one of the only two blackberrys in the Agency (and likely to stay at this rate), so BES installation is not an option.  Outlook works fine, we deleted then recreated the Outlook profile and the sync folder in the folder settings for the application - no luck.

Is there something in particular that must be set on the server Exchange to enable the Blackberry communicate with her?  The specific services that should be running?  The Blackberry is replacing a Nokia that synchronized without problems on the same Exchange Server.

Thanks for your responses and suggestions.

Just a small clarification here - there is never any direct communication between a BB and the Exchange Server. All require ducts (BIS/OWA, BES, Desktop Redirector).

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones connector specific error Intellisync / Internal Error #4238

Hello everyone.  I got my phone from Blackberry storm about 2 weeks ago and it worked perfectly.  I could back up my files and synchronize my Contacts from the Windows address book.  I had 68 Contacts inside and today I added 5 more to make 73.  I went to sync the phone and just as he was on sync contacts, I have a message "the Intellisync connector specific error."  I then checked the logs, and on the bottom of the log, it says "Internal Error #4238".

I deleted and reinstalled the Blackberry Desktop Manager and reset my computer and phone several times.  I also wne in the section advanced and deleted contacts from your phone and tried to reinstall the and installed only 44 of them and got the same message "the Intellisync connector specific error."  I was on the phone with Verizon for an hour and they could not help.

I am running Windows Vista.  Any help appreciated.

I tried that suggested bifocals, and for some reason, I couldn't understand it.  So what I did I e-mailed me contacts, 15 at a time and it worked perfectly.  Prior to sending contacts, I just had to be converted to .vcf files.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones unable to synchronize Internal Error #4238

Synchronization of every day without any problem, today I get error notice that says: ON FOUND of DUPLICATE RECORDS Of the DEVICE... When I open the configuration tab and view the log , it contains a list internal error 4238. with not many options. I restarted my computer, I have restarted my BB, out the battery and replaced, without success. Help!

I found a few things and was able to solve this problem.

    1. Go in sync / Configuration - VIEW the LOG and see where the error occurs.  In my case, it's the calendar.  But in other cases, it may be contacts.
    2. Get sync and go in the backup and restore, click Advanced.  Right SIDE, you will see the device databases - choose the offending database (calendar in my case) and clear it, then close out of the window.
    3. Come back in SYNCH - CONFIGURATION and try again.  If it STILL does not respond, repeat step 2, then you might want to try and device overright - IE choose one-way simple config Outlook of device as indicated in the previous post.
    4. Once its done successfully, you can reset all the sync options back to normal (back to 2 say synch etc..)

Hi and welcome to the forums!

It is not a means to access personal data that is on the phone. The error code

indicates that the operating system of the phone is unusable. Your data are organized and saved by the same damaged software.

If you have an old backup, you can restore data after reinstall the OS device.

  • Error on blackBerry Smartphones with calendar synchronization - Outlook 2007 for Nextel Curve 8350i

Since last Monday, I start to have problems of synchronization with Outlook 2007.  I have a Nextel 8350i curve. An Intellisync error message appears saying 'Operation complete unexpectedly.'

It comes to my environment. I do not use BES.  I now have Desktop Manager 4.7 installed (it changed from 5.0 when I started having this error).  I have 2-way sync set up for the calendar only, right now.  And I have a few recurring events in my calendar. I use my work email, which is recognized as a personal email account.

As I said, the problem started last Monday.  After a search through various forums, I tried the following: my BB wiping and restore with backup files.  It does not work.

I tried deleting the calendar databases, wiping the BB and restore with backup files.  It worked for a day.

Then, I uninstalled Desktop Manager 5.0 and installed 4.6.  No difference.

After talking with the technical support of BB, who believes that there is a problem in my computer, I completely cleaned, virus scanned, defragmented, updated, scanned my computer. After all this, Calendar sync worked 3 times before crapping again.

I am at a loss.  My next step would be to create a new connection to my computer. But I doubt that this will fix the problem.

    Any ideas?

I spent more than 10 hours trying to get my Outlook 2007 and my Torch 9810 to synchronize.  I live (and die) my list of calendars and contacts and the need to address this problem as soon as POSSIBLE.

I tried pretty much everything I read online.  Any other suggestions or a really good step by step in order to solve this problem?  I'm not super irritable so have simple is much better.

    Thank you!!!

Hello and welcome to the community!

Unfortunately, we say you have "tried everything" depends on our applications of clairvoyance as to what this means (and these applications do not work these last time!), then we risk redundant advice. So, if you haven't done so already, I recommend you go here:

and search on that error code... see if the results are useful.

That said, some issues - has ever worked? Or is this your first attempt to configure the synchronization? And exactly when in the process means the present error? When you install the Desktop software? When you configure the synchronization? When you run the synchronization?

Alternatively, you can enable advanced logging to see if the journal reveals something useful to you:

    • KB01451 How to enable Sync advanced logging if a wired synchronization fails

Sometimes completely restarting cures some problems... to do, I suggest the following (reboots insert a lot of restarting your PC... not only restarts, but at full power down). In addition, it is recommended that you are connected to the PC on an account with full administrator rights. In addition, under Vista/Win7, use the option "Run As Administrator" for everything.

In addition, it was also reported that when your user profile on windows (type "echo %UserProfile%" in command prompt) contains spaces, then the installer will not work. To resolve this issue, log off from your Windows account and sign in using the local administrator account (or any other name of account without spaces) and install office (for all users).

    (1) as appropriate, remove all packages updated devices OS of your PC (Add/Remove Programs)

    (2) properly uninstall the RIM desktop software:

    • KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
    • Some noted that manually remove the registry keys (RIM, BB, PUMA, etc.) to be useful... but, if you don't know what you're doing here, don't even try as you can make your PC dead if you're wrong.
    • Others have reported the use of a registry cleaning tool to be also useful
    • Still others have reported the use of your original PIM (Outlook, NOTES, etc.) Installation CD, run the "repair" to be helpful in some situations process

    (3) obtain a new download of the RIM Desktop software:

    (4) to download a new copy of your package to your carrier OS device (on your PC):

    (5) install the software on your PC Desktop

Installation of 6) (also on your PC), device OS package

    (7) start the configuration Organizer:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Outlook 2007 and storm Sync?

Previously, I had a Dell Pocket PC and used Microsoft's ActiveSync through an abridged version Outlook. I bought a storm through Verizon and tried to sync Outlook with the storm. I kept getting the window... "Run-time error. Value of the option is unacceptable. Please check the properties option. "I went through Setup with Verizon Tech Support. Which included the restart of the storm. They have abandoned and referred me to Blackberry.

I have since removed the Outlook 2002 including all .pst files hidden that I could find. I installed Microsoft Office 2007 and started again. Same problem, same error!

I don't think there is a problem with the BB Desktop Manager configuration. Between Verizon and I have, it seems, that attempted to apply the possibilities.

I would be very grateful for any suggestions. I'm out of ideas.

    Thank you

    Biofocals,

Thank you for your help. "Do you know your stuff'.)) I did as you suggested and the sync performs perfectly. Again, thank you for your help.

  • Error on blackBerry Smartphones: Blackberry Desktop Manager has stopped working

I use Desktop Manager 4.7.0.32 with a Blackberry Bold (9000); I sync with Outlook 2007 and I am running Windows Vista 64-bit Ultimate w / SP1. Synchronization worked well for many years with previous blackberries, but the synchronization problem appeared after a year or two of use with my previous camera curve.  I replaced the curve with the bold thinking which damaged equipment could be the problem (one too many drops).

However, the problem persists.  While it seems I can synchronize with success a way (from PC to BB), Director of office falls down to halfway through synchronization of calendar entries in a synchronization two-way, unless there has been no new entry calendar on the BB. The error is an error generated windows inidcating: Blackberry Desktop Manager has stopped working.

I tried every solution I could find on the web, namely:

    • Uninstalling and reinstalling Desktop Manager, making sure that I run the installer as administrator.
    • My Blackberry wiping and reinstalling the operating system (I use 4.6.0.162)
    • Delete the Intellisync folder
    • Run scanpst on my Outlookpst file
    • Clear the entries of calendar on the Blackberry (temporary solution only)

The latter is the only approach that has produced no results.  If I delete the entries on the Blackberry, the

process synchronization adds them correctly, and the next time I run the synchronization, it works without a hitch.  As soon as I did all the entries on the BB unit however, Desktop Manager crashes again, and the only way I can make it work is to clear the entries on the Blackberry and start over.

I'm several months and both handsets of BB has invested in this issue now.  I have a new fancy camera, but am recorded in writing of the appointments on paper when I am out of the office because I know they used to synchronize if I enter them at BB.  Type of defeated half the point of a blackberry...?

Getting desperate here.  Help is appreciated.

    Brad

    Hello Brad!

I had the same annoying problem that you guys have described here.
After trough fishing a lot of post and forums I found a very surprising solution for another type of BB and a different version of the DM on XP and not Vista. Being desperate I tried and miraculously it worked!

Start the DM BB and go - Syncronize - set - synchronisation - synchronization (button) - calendar - Advanced (button) - mapping fields (field mapping button) and I got rid of the synchronization between the flag "alarm" and the "free occupied" and the fields "invited".

I did it and now everything works perfectly.

I have a BB Bold, Vista Ultimate (32 bit), MSOffice 2007 (PRO) and a DMv4.7.

I hope it will work for you also.

    Kind regards
    Steve
